Last night’s episode of 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After was filled with screaming and hurt feelings. I swear I have never have felt so thankful for small annoyances in life. It seemed like everyone on this show was angry for some reason.
Tension runs high when Angela Deem meets Michael Ilesanmi‘s friends. Colt Johnson is torn between his mom and his girlfriend, Jess. Cultures clash when Andrei Castravet‘s family challenges Elizabeth Potthast Castravet‘s role as head of household. Larissa Dos Santos Lima is given an ultimatum. Let’s get straight into the 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After recap!
Colt (Las Vegas, Nevada) & his mom Debbie ex-wife Larissa (Brazil)
Colt finally got the hint and decided not to make his mother Debbie Johnson an unwilling participant in a threesome. The cheapskate finally got another hotel room. Why the hell he thought that having sex in the same room with his mother was appropriate is beyond me.
While out to dinner, Jess Caroline inquires as to why Colt felt it was necessary to bring his mother to Brazil. Colt explains Debbie’s desire to meet his new girlfriend. Jess is skeptical after Debbie slammed the door in her face shortly after they arrived at the hotel. She is lucky she only slammed the door. Let’s not forget Colt and Jess not only kissed the entire ride to the hotel, but were also talking nonstop about sex. They wouldn’t have even had the chance to step foot in the room with me.

Colt and Debbie have another awkward conversation about sex. Sigh! I’m not even related to him, and I am disgusted. I can only imagine how his mother feels. Colt asks Debbie to be nicer to Jess. He also suggests she spend some one on one time to get to know her better. Debbie agrees one reason only, to interrogate this woman.
I think anyone can see that Jess is on a mission. Her visa is expiring in a couple of months and she is already talking to Colt about kids and marriage. Coincidence? I think not! Debbie warns Jess that she shouldn’t interfere with her and mother/son relationship. Considering that Larissa called Jess and warned her about Debbie, she isn’t surprised by this interaction. This is just weird on so many levels. Debbie acts like Colt is a 12-year-old boy and he likes it that way. Jess, I’m sure there are plenty of men who want a foreign bride who don’t have hips and a live in monster-in-law.

Larissa visits her attorney to discuss the status of her case. During the conversation, she shares her dream of becoming an attorney. Ummm… What? I can’t imagine anyone trusting Larissa with their money or legal matters. Against her attorney’s advice, she has also decided to get back together with her ex-boyfriend, Eric Nichols. Given that she did file a police report on Eric, it would seem like she would heed his advice. But of course, Larissa is going to whatever she wants to do especially when it involves a man.
Larissa and Eric go out on a date to discuss their future. This guy is so creepy. When I see these two interact, I feel like I’m watching dumb and dumber. When he asks what she didn’t like about him in the past, she says he is too cheap. She then offers to allow him to buy her boobs to redeem himself. SMH! When she returns home later that night, she confesses to her roommate Carmen, she is dating Eric again.
Carmen doesn’t understand why Larissa places her value on whether she has a man. She is also concerned that her toxic relationships will lead to further drama and her deportation. Carmen informs Larissa she will have to move out by the end of the weekend. Wow! Larissa, is this woman your friend or your girlfriend? I can understand her not wanting Eric in her house, but to kick her out is a bit much.

Tania (Colchester, Connecticut) and Syngin (South Africa)
Syngin Colchester feels scared and homesick when he learns his brother has a blood clot in his lung. When he informs Tania Maduro of the news, she fully supports him taking a trip to South Africa to visit his family. The two have been having marital issues, but he still wants his wife at his side. This is good news considering last week he wasn’t sure if he wanted to stay in the marriage or even live in the U.S.
Elizabeth (Tampa, FL) & Andrei (Moldova)
Andrei takes Elizabeth to look at venues for their upcoming second wedding. The first option is a casino that is located in a strip mall. Elizabeth becomes irritated when she feels like Andrei isn’t considering the comfort of her American family. In an interview outside of the venue, they get into a screaming match telling one another to “shut up.”
Elizabeth gets so frustrated; she storms off from her condescending husband. Sigh! I don’t know how this woman puts up with him. I don’t think I could last a day listening to him demean me constantly because of my sex. Things begin to look up once they arrive at the second location. This place definitely is light years above the first option. It has a more traditional look and they are actually able to taste the food, rather than just look at pictures. Now that the venue has been secured, they both seem in better spirits.
Andrei takes the entire family to the park where he played as a child. While there, his parents inquire what Elizabeth’s parents will think of Moldova. As usual, Andrei has several snarky things to say about her family. She starts to become suspicious as to what her husband has been telling his family as more questions are asked. That is an easy answer, exactly what he has told her constantly. He clearly doesn’t like Elizabeth’s family, unless they are opening their wallet to him. It’s not like he has made this a secret.

Elizabeth has to convert to Andrei’s religion before they can be wed in Moldova. Throughout the baptism ceremony, she is confused without the aid of translation. She literally just found out she even needed to convert in order to get married. Elizabeth decided not to her family so that no one would try to dissuade her.
After the ceremony, the happy couple and friends go to celebrate. Throughout the conversation, Andrei continues to display insulting and sexist behavior. When Elizabeth questions some of the group’s patriarchal beliefs, she is treated like she is an outcast. Growing up her parents taught her that men and women were equal, which contradicts her husband’s views. I am surprised that she would agree to convert without knowledge of the religion and its practices. Elizabeth seems to struggle the entire marriage episode with standing up for herself and just giving in.
Angela (Hazlehurst, Georgia) and Michael (Nigeria)
Angela surprises Michael with the goodwill suits she bought him in America. He hasn’t worn a suit in over five years, so he is elated to have two new ones. The day is off to a great start until he makes the mistake of suggesting that she move to Nigeria. When he takes her to meet friends who have lived in both Nigeria and the U.S. is his second mistake. Hell has no fury like a jealous woman.
Once she saw three lovely ladies waiting to speak with her, she became enraged. She literally looked like she was about to turn green and morph into the Hulk. Instead, she storms back to the car and screams at Michael until they speed away. OMG! Angela is out of hand. I don’t know why Michael thought he was allowed to have female friends. Did he forget how she acted with his male friends?

Michael, are sure you want to marry Angela? Blink twice if you are being forced to continue this relationship! In the car, Angela continues her insecure tirade on her defenseless fiancé. Apparently, Angela doesn’t need ANYONE to tell her anything about America or Nigeria. Michael insists that his male friend was only running late.
As if matters weren’t bad enough, she gets a call from her daughter about her mother’s health. Once Angela calms down a bit she proceeds to blame Michael for all of their relationship problems. She even has the nerve to question if he is ready to be a husband. I’m wondering when she is going to be ready to act like a human being and not an animal.
Kalani (Orange County, CA) and Asuelu (Samoa)
After moping around the house ignoring everyone, Asuelu Pulaa’s father-in-law asks him to accompany him to the park. This is only an excuse to have a private discussion about his behavior at his son’s birthday party. Surprisingly, they are able to have a calm conversation. Asuelu is also able to vent and tell his side of the story. Watching Asuelu on the verge of the tears, made me sad for him.

Although I think he could benefit from another married man’s guidance, I think Kalani Faagata’s parents are way too involved in their marriage. If they are having marital problems, an outside party like a therapist, could work wonders. This would help Asuelu to feel like everyone wasn’t always against him. It has to be hard to feel like you have no support system.
