Captain Lee and Carl Radke’s Friendship Explained

When we are little, our friendships tend to form by pure happenstance, deriving mostly from our shared classrooms, clubs, or even the locations of our homes. As we grow, however, our mindsets on who we allow into our personal spaces typically change. We begin seeking out those with similar values, personalities, and also, dare I say it, shared traumas. Bravo stars are no different than us on this, as Captain Lee Rosbach and Carl Radke have proven.

That said, there is an age gap between these two. Also, they starred in totally different shows on Bravo. And yet, these two still bonded, and a friendship was formed in the year of 2020.

So how exactly did this kinship happen? And what does a 74-year-old Below Deck alum have in common with a 39-year-old Summer House star? Also, are they still close these days? Let’s dive in.

How their friendship first began

In the year of 2019, Captain Lee lost his son to a tragic overdose. For twenty long years before his passing, Joshua Lee Rosbach had been battling an opioid addiction. His dependency first formed after an accident, which left him in the hospital for a while. Here, he received pain medications, which he then found himself unable to cease taking.

The following year, Curtis Radke, Carl’s brother, also passed away from an accidental drug overdose. When this news broke, Captain Lee reached out, knowing exactly what this massive loss must felt like for Carl. Immediately, these men formed a bond, because nothing brings two people closer together than their shared life experiences. No matter how dark they might be.

On a 2021 taping of Watch What Happens Live, Carl reflected on Captain’s Lee first point of contact. “We share kind of a similar story,” he began, adding “My brother and his son passed from addiction. [Lee] reached out to me last year during a really hard time, and having someone else from the Bravo family reach out meant a lot. Especially Captain Lee, who, I mean, he’s a legend, and also he’s a male figure, so I think coming from him, it was super important.”

I love a good DM story. Especially one that involves a touching subject matter, not a subject matter that someone wants you to touch.

On that same episode of WWHL, host Andy Cohen asked Carl who the first person he confided in was, in regards to sharing his then-emerging feelings for his Summer house costar Lindsay Hubbard. “I had actually talked to Captain Lee early on,” he shared, adding, “I think he laid the groundwork for me to really feel confident in wanting to move forward with Lindsay.”

At this point, Captain Lee and Carl had never actually met each other in person. This all changed at BravoCon in 2022. During their meetup, they snapped a sweet photo together, which Carl later shared online, to help him acknowledge Captain Lee’s birthday. “Thank you for your kindness, warmth, strength, and guidance. I’m so fortunate to have you as a friend,” Carl penned to the BD alum.

At this same event, Andy asked Captain Lee a fan question, wondering whether or not he would be the one to officiate Carl’s then-wedding to Lindsey. “I am absolutely considering officiating his wedding. I would be honored to do that,” the captain answered. He also explained that it was great to finally see Carl in real time, noting that he gave “him a big hug, and [said], ‘It’s gonna be OK. We’re gonna get through it.’”

Recently on his podcast, Captain Lee let us all know that this friendship wasn’t doing so well right now. Following Carl’s broken engagement, Captain Lee invited his buddy onto his podcast, to share his story. However, this podcast never aired. Carl nixed the entire thing.

“I’m going to say something. Carl and I used to be close,” Captain Lee began. “I gave Carl an opportunity to be on the podcast and tell it as he saw it. [If] there was a question he wanted taken off, we took it off. If there was something he didn’t want to answer, we didn’t put him on the spot,” he explained.

Captain Lee also made sure to note that he “didn’t hang” Carl “up to dry — it was a softball interview if I have ever seen one. Because I never would have done anything intentionally to put Carl on the spot.” Even still, things fell apart after this taping.

“Usually we release a tease on Tuesday, which we did. Then I got a phone call from Carl and he just went off on how I was taking advantage of him and trying to put him on the spot,” Captain Lee claimed. “His publicist was there — as was mine. I was blown away. I don’t know what made him go off the way he went or what he was thinking,” he further lamented.

Even still, Captain Lee placed the feelings of his friend over his podcast. “I told him he didn’t want it aired so we didn’t… So Mr. Radke, you were not deceived by me,” Captain Lee ended.

A final word from Captain Lee

In speaking to US Weekly, Captain Lee noted that he still has not spoken to Carl. “He’s been pretty busy,” he explained. On this, consider me sad.

Jenn Fessler Jokes She’ll ‘Kill’ Margaret Josephs for RHONJ Comments

Jenn Fessler may be at odds with Margaret Josephs during this season of the Real Housewives of New Jersey. However, she still has love for her. But before they move past some of the negativity surrounding them this year, Jenn might have to set her straight.

Jenn will move past her issues with Margaret … after she handles her business

During her interview with Access Hollywood, Jenn discussed her massive fallout with Margaret this season. She mentioned some of the nasty things Marge has said about her, including calling her “Judas” — the man who betrayed Jesus in the Bible. But it doesn’t stop there. Marge has said more, like calling Jenn “weak sauce” and a “social climber.”

Now, I know what you’re thinking. Weren’t they best friends last year? Yeah, they were. However, things shifted this year when Jenn snuggled up to Teresa Giudice and Jennifer Aydin. Prior to the season airing, Marge spoke poorly about Jenn and even Jackie Goldschneider (who has also gotten close to Teresa), saying they “disappointed” her this year.

Despite all of that, though, Jenn said they’ll move past it because that’s what friends do.

“I’m going to kill her for all of the things she’s been saying about me,” she said. “But that’s for another day.”

It’s understandable why Jenn would be hurt by Margaret’s comments, considering she almost quit the show for her. Jackie also confirmed this.

“Margaret wanted, if [Luis Ruelas] was coming back to the show, she didn’t want me and Jenn Fessler to come back to the show,” Jackie said. “She wanted to leave, and she wanted all of us to leave together.”

Jackie continued, saying Jenn was willing to quit; however, she was not. “‘I love you,’” Jackie told Marge. “But I’m not leaving my job because you don’t like somebody.’”

There won’t be a Jersey reunion this year since none of the cast are speaking to each other. However, Andy Cohen said they’re working on something that could take its place. Whatever it is, hopefully, Jenn and Marge will be able to address this because we have a LOT of questions.

Lisa and Lenny Hochstein Fighting Over Household Items Including Waffle Maker

The level of pettiness in Lisa Hochstein and Lenny Hochstein’s divorce knows no bounds. Of course, their breakup has been messy from the beginning. He was already running around with a young model about 5 seconds after breaking things off with Lisa. Still, this process just gets worse and worse.

On Real Housewives of Miami, Lisa opened up about the complicated nature of their divorce. The prenup said he had to build her a house, but then even that had stipulations. The last update we heard on the show was that things got “significantly worse.” Unfortunately, that still seems to the the case. New court documents show that they’re fighting over a bunch of random household items.

They’re dividing every single asset

You might recall that Lisa and Lenny already fought over household items earlier in the divorce. Lenny claimed that Lisa yanked an unreasonable amount of furniture and artwork when she moved out. Somehow, he’s still complaining about it.

According to Us Weekly, Lenny and his lawyers resurfaced the issue of the missing furniture and artwork because Lisa recently claimed that her ex owed her money for moving expenses. Mind you, these are people who shared a $50 million mansion. However, Lenny is stuck on the fact that Lisa took more than what she should have.

Allegedly, the apartment that Lisa moved into was already furnished, so Lenny felt like she had no business taking items from the marital home like their $35,000 foyer table. Court docs also claimed Lisa took 22 out of 25 art pieces in the house, in addition to plants, a Christmas tree, fine wines, and most importantly, a waffle maker.

Aside from the $35,000 foyer table, most of these items could easily be replaced by a quick trip to HomeGoods. Regardless, Lenny and his lawyers argued that Lisa was being malicious by taking the items from the house. In particular, they said the waffle maker was something he used with their kids every weekend.

“[Lisa] never used it and clearly took it anyway just to prevent [Lenny] from enjoying his weekend tradition with his children,” the court docs read.

While Lenny and his lawyers fight for their kitchen appliances, Lisa’s legal team argues that this whole thing is just another attempt at Lenny trying to make Lisa look bad. In a statement, Lisa said she felt “saddened” by the back-and-forth. Meanwhile, Lisa’s lawyer straight-up dragged Lenny.

Lisa’s attorney said, “It is a shame that Lisa is forced to litigate meritless issues in order to have Lenny’s claims dismissed, rather than conserving the parties’ financial resources for their children.”

She continued, “While Lenny’s actions in the divorce are intended to disparage and cast aspersions on Lisa, Lisa remains steadfast in her belief that the parties should focus on putting their children first and attempt to peacefully co-parent with one another.”

For the sake of the kids, we’re hopeful that Lenny can get his hands on a new waffle maker and that this nightmare divorce can come to an end soon. At this point, it’s been over two years of this back-and-forth. Moving on would do everybody good.

Kathy Hilton Reflects on ‘Very Scary’ Time for Kyle Richards

The relationship between Kathy Hilton and Kyle Richards has its ups and downs. We’ve seen that firsthand on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Right now, they’re in a good place, and it sounds like Kyle’s separation somehow brought them closer together.

In a new interview, Kathy opened up about how she’s been a major source of support for Kyle over the last few months. She acknowledged that it’s rough for Kyle right now, but she has her back. The Richards sisters are once again, acting like sisters.

We got a glimpse of Kathy’s rekindled relationship with Kyle during the RHOBH Season 13 reunion. Kathy made a surprise appearance and sat right next to Kyle throughout the most difficult segments. Kathy told Entertainment Tonight that she showed up to be nosey, but more importantly, to support her little sister.

“I wanted to be there and just hold her hand,” Kathy said. “I wanted to be there and be supportive. It was great to see all the girls again.”

Reflecting on Kyle’s current state of affairs, Kathy described it as a “scary time.” No, she wasn’t talking about when that rat made its way to Kyle’s car. She was referring to the fact that Kyle has to try to move on from who she thought was the love of her life. According to Kathy, they’re all trying to take things one day at a time.

“You know, there’s good days for Kyle and then there’s tough days,” Kathy explained. “And I am there talking to her every day, several times, and I wanna be there for her.”

She continued, “It’s very scary after almost 28 years. She’s been married her whole life. And the four children. It doesn’t matter what age. It’s heartbreaking.”

It’s a relief to know that Kyle has someone in her corner because it’s not clear if her RHOBH costars have been as supportive. They forced Kyle to answer some tough questions at the Season 13 reunion.

Plus, Season 14 is filming right now, and a fan spotted Kyle going off on Dorit Kemsley. That’s probably not a good sign. With all of the drama, Kyle probably needs as many people in her corner right now. Thank goodness for Kathy.

It’s no secret that Lindsay Hubbard has moved on after her split from Carl Radke. We love that for her. What we don’t love is the fact that the Summer House star has been keeping the details of her new relationship under wraps, leading the entire world to speculate about the identity of her new boo. We all have our theories, and some fans are convinced she’s dating country singer Dustin Lynch.

The evidence is there. Lindsay bought a house in Nashville. Dustin lives in Nashville. They’re both single and run in the same friend circle. A romantic spark between the two wouldn’t be too far-fetched. But, Dustin recently shut down all of those romance rumors. He made it very clear that he and Lindsay are just friends.

Dustin opened up about the persistent Lindsay rumors during an interview with Us Weekly. He admitted that they’re friendly with each other but claimed that there’s nothing romantic happening. It’s all very platonic.

“I mean, rumors get started. We’ve been through years of this stuff,” Dustin teased before fully shutting down the rumors.

“We’re great friends,” he clarified. “She’s got a house here [in Nashville] now that’s doing great. She’s making some new friends here in town.”

After a major breakup, making new friends and thriving in a new town is probably just what Lindsay needed. And while Dustin seems like a good support system for Lindsay, he admitted that becoming entangled in the Bravo universe isn’t on his radar. Don’t expect a cameo from him on Summer House. This friendship is strictly off-camera.

He explained, “I haven’t been in the Bravo world ever, but to see what that fan base is like is intense. You [open] a whole new can of worms. I’m telling you…[I’m] talking about a big can of worms.”

Now that we know Lindsay isn’t dating Dustin, we’re over here trying to figure out who Lindsay’s boyfriend actually is. Previously, she teased that the special someone was someone she dated in her past. That’s definitely not Dustin, and during the Summer House Season 8 reunion, Lindsay made it clear that she’s going to keep this info under wraps for a little bit longer.

Sutton Stracke Teases ‘Sad Drama’ in RHOBH Season 14, Friendships ‘On Thin Ice’

Most fans of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills felt like Season 13 was a let-down. There was a lot of talk about Sutton Stracke’s esophagus. And precious little talk about Kyle Richards’ separation from longtime husband, Mauricio Umansky.

So, in a bid to freshen up the franchise, both Annemarie Wiley and Crystal Kung Minkoff were asked to turn in their diamonds. A new housewife was added, and Kyle’s sister, Kathy Hilton, is returning in a friend role. Plus, Sutton’s bestie, actress Jennifer Tilly, joined Kathy officially as a friend.

Sutton would like some “camaraderie” in RHOBH Season 14, but teases “drama”

Sutton recently told Too Fab that the cast changes will create a “refreshing” experience for RHOBH viewers. She also reflected on the marital woes of Kyle and Mauricio, as well as Dorit Kemsley’s separation from hubby PK Kemsley.

“I think right now we’re in the midst of a lot of relationship drama from PK and Dorit and Kyle and Mauricio and it’s kind of sad drama. So we’ll see how that plays out,” Sutton explained. “I think friendship-wise all of us are a bit on thin ice. All of us. So I hope that we can see a lot of reparation and that we can see friendship, camaraderie.”

And Sutton is thrilled about Jennifer joining the cast. “Jennifer Tilly has been a great friend of mine for a long time before I even moved to LA,” she said. “She’s refreshing, she gives a very enlightened point of view, she’s funny.” The boutique owner added, “She’s everything that I know as a friend and I think that we’re all going to love watching her.” I think that Sutton, Jennifer, and Garcelle Beauvais could be the squad that we all need.

Sutton also has high praise for the newest Beverly Hills housewife, Bozoma Saint John.

“So Boz, is amazing, super smart, and I’ve met her before we started all of this. So it’s nice to sort of have somebody that I know as a housewife come on board,” Sutton stated. “She has a different dynamic, she’s a corporate professional so I think for all of us, it’s going to be different and it’s going to be interesting to see how that plays into her perspective with all of us, but she’s wonderful, she’s smart, she’s caring, she’s loving, and she’s also fiercely fabulous.”

Let’s hope that Season 14 of RHOBH delivers some humor, some drama, and some fun.

Survivor jury speeches can make or break a season. Fans want to see some bloodshed before a castaway is rewarded with the coveted million-dollar prize. Over the last 46 seasons, there have been some unforgettable jury speeches. Some jurors use their final time to compliment their fellow castaways on making it to the end, others use it to get in one last dig.

Here are the most unforgettable jury speeches in Survivor history:

Corinne Kaplan – Gabon

Corinne Kaplan delivered one of the most savage jury speeches of all time in Survivor: Gabon. The California native left the game with sour feelings towards finalist Jessica “Sugar” Kiper and she let that be known during her final statement. She ripped her fellow castaway to shreds, bringing up everything from her employment status to her late father.

“Sugar, you are an unemployed, uneducated, leech on society,” she began. “The only thing I would vote to give you is a handful of antidepressants so that no one else has to be subjected to your constant crying anymore. Maybe if you got some, then it would seem a little more sincere when you are crying about your dead father. You don’t deserve the million.”

Corinne’s speech received mixed reviews from fans. While some fans saw the speech as “iconic,” others criticized her for going too far.

“Look it’s iconic, but an awful thing to say,” one fan wrote in a Reddit thread dedicated to the topic.

“It was too far [in my opinion]. I’m disappointed that they let that speech air,” another Reddit user replied.

In a March 2021 interview with Entertainment Weekly, Corinne spoke directly to fans who have asked her to apologize for her behavior on the show.

“I still get DMs almost every day from people who hate me and demand I apologize. And so, I would like to address them in the following statement: I regret nothing,” she told the outlet.

Reed Kelly – San Juan del Sur

In the finale of Survivor: San Juan del Sur, Reed Kelly compared Missy Payne to an “evil stepmother” in his legendary jury speech.

“You cast yourself as the motherly figure. However, fans of classic literary fiction will see through very quickly to who your true character was, which is the wicked stepmother, really, of the tribe,” he said. “It’s the eccentric woman who comes in and makes demands of everyone.”

He delivered his speech with a smile while his fellow castaways looked at him in shock. It was a great TV moment.

Spencer Bledsoe – Cagayan

Spencer Bledsoe shared some harsh words about Yung “Woo” Hwang’s gameplay in his final statement. The Student criticized Woo’s loyalty to Tony Vlachos and questioned why he chose to take Tony to the end over Goat Kassandra McQuillen.

“Woo, when I look at your game, I can’t help but make this comparison between your strategic play and the behavior of a dog,” he said. “I mean, Tony was like your master. When he said sit, you sat. When he said the word, you went and played fetch.”

Ouch. Spencer’s speech was savage but if we’re being honest, it was iconic.

Whitney Duncan – South Pacific

Whitney Duncan used her final moment to let the finalists know how she feels about them personally. She labeled Albert Destrade sleazy, accused Coach Wade of using Christianity as a manipulation tactic, and called Sophie Clarke “the most condescending person” she’s ever met. Bravo! This was a perfect speech.

Dan Lembo – Nicaragua

Dan Lembo went in on Matthew “Sash” Lenahan in his final speech and it was unforgettable. He hurled many insults at Sash and called him out for breaking promises.

“I think you’re a liar. I think you’re a phony. You said things to me, and you never lived up to them. I think you’re spineless, I hate that smile. I think if I was you, I [would] go to the doctor tomorrow and get that eye fixed, so you stop doing the wink.”

He didn’t stop there. After telling off Sash, he moved on to Chase Rice. He criticized the castaway for being paranoid and a backstabber. Epic.

Real Housewives of Dubai Season 2, Episode 2 Recap: The Never-Ending Vagina Monologues

Welcome back to the United Arab Emirates! It’s time for the Real Housewives of Dubai Season 2, Episode 2 recap. On this week’s episode, titled “Friendship on the Rocks,” Brooks and Stanbury spiral downwards, as Chanel launches upwards, celebrating the opening of Ayan Beauty. Here’s everything that just went down in the desert on RHODubai Season 2, Episode 2.

Loud birds and their victims

Taleen’s husband is taking their children out, as she prepares for a visit from her girls. He can’t find their shoes though, so she has help. Then, one of her babies runs out with her nipple pasties, making this entire scene relatable AF. Sara arrives, and Taleen’s husband exits.

Brooks enters next, “fashionably late.” The ladies head to the balcony to drink Champs, looking out over Taleen’s views of The Palm. Here, Brooks tells her friends that she’s struggling with Chanel, Lesa, and Stanbury. Taleen notes that Stanbury is getting closer with these women.

Speaking of Stanbury, she’s out with Lisa and Chanel. After ordering, Chanel stresses about Taleen’s voice last week, saying that it reminds her of “this bird in South Africa,” the Hadada. Overall, Taleen exhausts Chanel, but Stanbury clocks her new friend, telling her “that’s how I felt about you last year.” Chanel laughs, and Lesa asks Chanel how she’s feeling about Sara.

“What she said really f*cking hurt me. I’ve never played victim. I’m a survivor,” Chanel answers. She then cries, revealing that her father often left her scared as a little girl.

Then, Stanbury admits that she’s still annoyed with Taleen. Taleen isn’t retelling Stanbury’s comments made about Taleen’s drunken fall at the Beyoncé concert correctly.

Back at Taleen’s, Brooks asks who cares if Taleen fell and flashed her Taleen’ussy (my word), because Stanbury’s done worse. Sara reprimands Brooks, asking her not to fall into the same gossipy patterns as Stanbury.

Ayan Beauty and future plans

Chanel is starting a beauty line called Ayan Beauty, which she hopes will make her rich. After thanking her models, Chanel sits down to talk shop with her business partner and her husband. This talk breaks her brain.

Afterwards, she tells her man that she couldn’t sleep, because she realizes that she went too far with Sara. To fix things, she wants to write Sara a letter.

Meanwhile, over at Lesa’s, her mom is coming into town, so she and her husband joke about how they can get her to relocate to Dubai permanently. On this, they want to get her an apartment. She can’t live with them forever, because Lesa’s too loud in the bedroom.

Chanel and Sara hash it out, as Brooks says neh

Several beats later, Chanel and Sara meet up to clear the air. Chanel apologizes, and then reads Sara her letter. Sara loves it, asking if Chanel wrote it alone. Chanel says yes, but in a flashback, we see that her husband actually helped.

In turn, Sara also apologies, and she hands Chanel a small angel made of stone, which likely costs more than my life. Chanel cries. They agree to talk about things moving forward, instead of listening to their costars. Especially where Brooks is concerned, on Chanel’s end at least.

As for Brooks, The Glass House is draining her batteries. Luckily for her, Taleen arrives to break up her day. They chat as Taleen’s little girl receives a manicure. Taleen notes that Brooks is so calm now, but once again, the producers enter in, slicing in footage of Brooks calling Stanbury a “two-faced b*tch” behind her back at Taleen’s previous balcony meet-up.

Then, Taleen tells Brooks that she’s hosting a “small little gathering” while her family is in town. She’s inviting Stanbury. Brooks hates this.

Family and fighting

Lesa’s mom arrives, and it’s all smiles. Not smiling though is Sergio Carrallo, Stanbury’s husband. This is because his new wife, her daughter, and her ex-husband are all going on a college tour in America, and he’s not been invited.

Stanbury laughs. I’ll cuddle you, Sergio.

Taleen’s party arrives, as does the drama. Brooks is still annoyed that Taleen invited Stanbury, so Sara calls her over, getting her out of her funk. As she approaches, Brooks air kisses Stanbury, and then makes a pointed joke of “I hope you waxed your vagina” to Taleen.

Stanbury overhears and says nothing, but Sara pulls Brooks aside, asking for her to stop. Then, Sara farts, lightning up the mood, but not the air quality, as Brooks and Taleen start drinking and dancing. Then, Taleen introduces Sara to a potential love match, but Sara’s not feeling it.

Fully drunk now, Brooks pulls Stanbury in for a hug. They call each other out on both of their cheap shots made. Here, Sara plays the “jelly to the peanut butter,” and brings them outside for a private chat. She then scurries off, leaving them to it.

“You’ve been winding stuff up with Taleen, she’s told me,” Stanbury begins. “About what?” Brooks asks. “About me not liking her,” Caroline answers. Brooks stands up to retrieve Taleen, eager to deal with this.

Taleen comes out, but she’s unable to mediate. Things grow tense, and Stanbury leaves. “This is more than [my] vagina” Taleen notes, as the credits roll on Episode 2.

RHONJ Season 14, Episode 7 Preview: Teresa Giudice Blasts ‘Wannabe Gangster’ John Fuda

Get ready to cringe. The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 14, Episode 7 picks up right where we left off last week, showing the aftermath of Teresa Giudice’s explosive showdown with the Fudas. Of course, John Fuda called Teresa the “poster child for mortgage fraud,” and in a sneak peek of the upcoming episode, Teresa hit back with some insults of her own.

On RHONJ Season 14, Episode 6, John and Rachel Fuda met up with Teresa and Luis Ruelas to try to sort through their issues. John tried to demand an apology from Teresa. Obviously, that didn’t go so well, so they ended up storming out of the restaurant, leaving Teresa sitting there trying to process what happened. She had a hard time wrapping her head around why someone’s husband was trying to give her an ultimatum. What’s this show called again?

“He’s making a big, big, big, big mistake. He’s f*cking with the wrong Teresa Giudice,” Teresa suggested.

In her mind, John’s demand for an apology wasn’t warranted. She felt like the Fudas owed her and Luis an apology. In actuality, they all owe the viewers an apology for making us suffer through this toxic mess. Regardless, Teresa and Luis continued throwing shade at John and his desperate demand for an apology.

“This guy is like a wannabe Tony Soprano,” Luis quipped, to which Teresa replied, “He’s a wannabe gangster.”

Whether you want to call him a parking attendant, a drug dealer, or a wannabe gangster, John felt incredibly frustrated that he didn’t get the apology he was expecting. Outside of the restaurant, John and Rachel stomped to their car, complaining about how Teresa let them down once again.

“If it was a real apology, then it would have been sincere,” John astutely told his wife.

“Did you notice that Luis didn’t say a word?” Rachel asked. “He was just going to let Teresa bury herself.”

Clearly, this feud isn’t ending anytime soon. And without a traditional reunion for Season 14, we might never see any resolution between Teresa and the Fudas. Unfortunately, that’s just another day in New Jersey.

Summer House Season 8 Reunion, Part 2 Preview: Ciara Miller Would Need ‘World of Change’ From West Wilson

During the Summer House Season 8 reunion, we learned the disappointing news that West Wilson and Ciara Miller’s summer fling fizzled out once the cameras stopped rolling. According to Ciara, West led her on by doing boyfriend activities together before breaking things off. West claimed he just wasn’t ready for the commitment as he geared up for his newfound Summer House fame. Either way, we’re all looking for a glimmer of hope with these two crazy kids.

West and Ciara’s future looks bleak during the Summer House Season 8 reunion

In a sneak peek of Part 2 of the Season 8 Summer House reunion, Andy Cohen asked Ciara if there was any room in her heart for a reconciliation. The question arrived after she received a heartfelt apology from West. Although her heart was still broken, she said there was a chance that she and West could move past this mess.

“It would have to be a world of change or something, and I just don’t know what people are capable of,” Ciara admitted.

Upon hearing that news, West’s bestie, Jesse Solomon, jumped in. He said, “So you’re telling me there’s a chance?” Perhaps ironic that he’s quoting the movie Dumb & Dumber…

Ciara replied, “I can’t sit here and say I don’t still like him.”

Meanwhile, West was sitting on the other side of the stage biting his lip. The look on his face seemed like a cross between terrified and hopeful. When he heard that Ciara still had some feelings for him, that seemed to light a spark. He admitted that he still had feelings for her too.

“Same, but I didn’t expect to hear that from you, to be honest,” West confessed.

Although Ciara and West seemed to have ended the reunion on an okay note, the Summer House newbie said that in real life, they haven’t stayed close. In a recent interview, he said he hadn’t spoken to Ciara since the reunion. Their communication is “minimal,” as of right now. So, this just means that if they both end up on Summer House Season 9, they’ll have a lot of catching up to do.

The Summer House Season 8 reunion concludes Thursday, June 13 at 9/8c on Bravo.

Race to Survive: New Zealand Episode 4 Recap: Maungakaura Madness

Reality TV’s toughest competition, Race to Survive: New Zealand, delivered a supersized episode this week. That meant more entertainment for us but more suffering for the competitors. Those poor, unfortunate souls were still in the throes of Race 2: Maungakaura, traversing the treacherous course after a sudden knee injury forced the Brooklyn Climbers to exit the competition.

This week, the remaining seven teams pressed forward to Survival Camp, hoping to avoid elimination. For the teams leading the race, the perks in the End Crate set the stage for some interesting strategic decisions. Meanwhile, the teams in the back of the pack were just fighting to stay alive. Here’s what happened in Race to Survive: New Zealand Episode 4, “Eels, Heels, and Deals.”

Pushing through Race 2

After the Brooklyn Climbers exited the competition, the rest of the racers saw their helicopter flying over the racecourse. That sent shockwaves throughout the course because no one knew who left the race and how that would impact the final standings. Would that mean there’s one less medallion at the End Crate? No one wanted to find out the answer to that question.

The only two people who weren’t feeling the pressure of Race 2 were River Guides, Oliver and Corry. They made it to the End Crate in first place with plenty of time to spare. After another first-place finish, they officially became the frontrunners for this entire competition.

As the number-one team, they had their choice between four perks: steak, an eel fishing kit, a possum trap, or a set of camp chairs. Without hesitation, they chose the steak, and a few minutes later, they turned Survival Camp into a Morton’s Steakhouse. Those two grilled up their steaks and dined like kings. The River Guides might have made Race 2 look easy, but you could see the life coming back to their faces as they ate that steak.

With the clock ticking on Day 2, the Smokejumpers tried their darndest to make it to Survival Camp. According to the narrator, they were just “1000 yards” away from the finish line when the Day 2 race clock hit zero. Bummer. They wound up having to spend another night on the racecourse, kicking themselves for not moving just a little bit faster.

Race 2, Day 3

The third day of Race 2 started with all of the teams nearly getting blown away from their campsites. It seems like every day, these racers wake up and are faced with another dramatic weather situation. One day, it’s cold downpours. They shiver all night and then the next day, it’s sunny and hot. New Zealand is truly a wild place.

The Cool Moms and the Canadian Oil Riggers camped out near each other after Race 2, Day 2. At night, they were all kumbaya, but when the sun rose, they put their game faces on. The Moms asked the Oil Riggers if they’d be willing to talk strategy, and that quickly got shut down.

“We promised we wouldn’t do that during the races,” Nik told the Moms, completely brushing them off.

Privately, the Oil Riggers admitted that they didn’t want to risk having Rhandi and Ashley ride off of their coattails. Why risk landing in the bottom? There’s $500,000 on the line!

Kennedy told the cameras, “I’m not here to make friends. I’m here to make enemies.”

With that line drawn, Rhandi and Ashley pushed ahead and came up with a plan of their own. They decided to trail behind the Oil Riggers for a little bit, and then pass them up at the last second just to be “annoying.” That’s the level of pettiness we appreciate here at Reality Tea, so kudos to Rhandi and Ashley for bringing a little shade to the race.

Steak, eel, or possum?

The River Guides might have secured a few helpings of steak when they came in first place during Race 2, but the real meal was in the actual river. On Day 3, the Smokejumpers made it to Survival Camp and chose the eel fishing kit for their perk. They chose that option because they’d “rather eat eel than possum.” Maybe if the only other option is starvation.

Surprisingly, the fishing kit ended up being the best perk in the box. Ethan and Tyrie went out into the water, set up their trap, and before they knew it, they had a 23-pound eel on their hands. Yes, you read that right.

Watching this scene from home, that eel looked like something out of a horror movie. It didn’t look edible, let alone something that anybody should touch with their hands. For the competitors on Race to Survive, this little monster was 2,000 grams of protein gold. They gutted it, cooked it up, and celebrated. With all that meat slinging around, the Smokejumpers quickly became the stars of Survival Camp.

On the other side of Survival Camp, the Hunters arrived in third place and chose the possum trap as their perk. That was 100% on brand for those two, but they had no luck catching anything with the rudimentary trap. The New Zealand possums were too smart to fall for their tricks, and the Hunters were left dreaming about their 3 pounds of bacon from the last Survival Camp.

A broken NDA

When Paulina and Creighton arrived at Survival Camp in fourth place, they got stuck with the camp chairs as their perk. However, they smelled the sweet aroma of cooked eel, and their stomachs started grumbling. They decided to cook up a plan to try to trade a chair with the Smokejumpers in exchange for food. Creighton said he couldn’t survive much longer off of the bland almonds and oatmeal in the food caches.

After a little bit of strategizing, Tyrie and Ethan decided to set up an eel trap in exchange for half of the divorcees’ jerky and half of any harvested eel. This whole situation is good practice for the Divorcees for when they have to divide up their assets after this competition. Ultimately, they agreed to the deal and signed an “NDA” so that the other team wouldn’t know about the strategy.

A few minutes later, the Smokejumpers caught another river monster. Creighton couldn’t believe it and nearly burst out into happy tears. In his eyes, this giant helping of protein could be enough to fuel them through to Race 4. Then, in his excitement, he completely forgot about the NDA and told everyone at Survival Camp about the eel deal they made with the Smokejumpers. So much for keeping a secret!

The foot race to the finish

Staring Race 2, Day 4, there were only two teams left to finish the race: the Cool Moms and the Oil Riggers. As soon as the clock started for Day 4, both teams were racing for that End Crate, hoping they would avoid elimination.

Ultimately, sixth place could have gone either way. Kennedy and Nik lost a lot of time by navigating in the wrong direction and bickering about it. Ashley twisted her ankle the day before so that slowed their team down, too. These teams were neck and neck, but Kennedy and Nik made it to the End Crate, secured sixth place, and scored their medallions.

Moments later, Rhandi and Ashley ran up to the End Crate, and surprise! They got a medallion, too. It turned out that the Brooklyn Climbers leaving the competition cleared the way for everyone to move forward to Race 3. That whole threat from the beginning of the race about there still being an elimination ended up being a huge misdirect. Everyone lived to race another day.
