Nancy Guthrie Update Today: Arizona Sheriff Says Kidnapper ‘Had a Target’

Nancy Guthrie’s alleged kidnapper had a specific goal in mind. That’s what Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos believes following the 84-year-old’s disappearance. She had not been seen or heard from since January 31st, with police and the FBI following up on numerous potential leads.

Chris believes that her alleged kidnapping wasn’t a random spur-of-the-moment situation. “I think this was an individual who had a target,” Chris said in a recent interview. The reason behind that, however, is unclear to him. Photos and a description of the suspected person have been released, though investigators have yet to track that person down.

Into week three of Nancy’s disappearance, Chris and his team aren’t giving up in their quest to find her. Speaking to The Today Show on Wednesday, Chris says the alleged kidnapper, “has made it tough” on investigators to find her and track them down. At the same time, he says that he has a tough team of investigator determined to crack this case and bring Nancy home safely.

Surveillance footage from Nancy’s Tucson home on February 1 revealed a gun-wielding masked man walking up her porch. It’s believed that this coincides with the same time Nancy went missing. Chris believes there may be some DNA from the suspect left at the scene. He says they won’t know that until that is separated and sorted.

Chris admitted earlier this week that a timeline to find Nancy is rather unpredictable. He says that it could be within hours, days, weeks, months or years before that happens. According to the Sherrif the DNA is more critical than any glove found two miles away.

He notes that surveillance video shows the alleged suspect wearing a ring. Chris says that his team will examine that closely and see if that leads to anything. The FBI is offering a $100,000 reward for information on this case.

In a HELLO! interview, Monique Daniels Daw, head of manufacturing at London jeweler Queensmith, says Meghan’s latest ring is “a trendy pear cut diamond” and about 5 carats. The sleek solitaire band is most likely yellow gold, which complements the diamond’s warm tones, she says.

The Duchess of Sussex’s diamond is on the “lower end of the color grade scale,” Monique says, so it is most likely natural and not lab-grown. Lab-grown diamonds are more sustainable, so natural stones are not compatible with Meghan’s environmentally friendly stance.

“A natural diamond of this size and color would likely be valued in the region of £140,000 (or $189,519.40 USD),” she added. “If lab-grown, the cost would be significantly lower, around £8,000 (or $10,838).”

Steven Stone jewelry expert Maxwell Stone estimates Meghan’s total ring stack is worth a total of £210,000 or more than $284,000. “Prince Harry proposed to Meghan Markle in 2017 with a custom-designed three-stone engagement ring,” he to HELLO!. This included a 3-carat cushion-cut diamond from Botswana, “along with two smaller diamonds from Princess Diana’s jewelry collection.” More than a year later, Meghan replaced the original yellow gold band with a diamond-studded one. “The ring features high-quality stones with exceptional clarity, thus, I’d value it at approximately £120,000 (equal to $162,570),” Maxwell estimates.

Police confirmed the star had been arrested and charged for punching two men, including bar staff, at a local business he had spent the night drinking in, before being cut off. Since then, footage has spread online of Shia fighting with patrons outside the bar on the streets of the city. Additionally, new reports released following the arrest stated he had split from his wife and fellow actor, Mia Goth, last year.

A report by Page Six stated that Shia and Mia had quietly broken up around a year ago. It is not clear if divorce proceedings are underway. Shia first began dating the British-Brazilian actress in 2012, when she was 19 years old. The two met after starring in the film Nymphomaniac.

Taking to social media, Shia offered a two-word statement following news of his arrest and separation. “Free me,” he posted on X (formerly Twitter). The Holes actor was later seen on the streets of New Orleans the following day, celebrating Mardi Gras once more.

In 2015, footage spread online of Shia and Mia fighting in public. Shia can be seen telling people who intervened that he “would have killed her” if the argument hadn’t been interrupted. In 2020, Shia was sued by former girlfriend, FKA Twigs, for “sexual battery, assault, and infliction of emotional distress.” The suit was settled out of court for an undisclosed deal.

Following accusations of abuse from FKA, as well as ex-girlfriends Karolyn Pho and Margaret Qualley, Shia apologized. The Transformers actor described himself as “abusive” in subsequent interviews. However, in the lead-up to the settlement in 2025, he began denying the allegations.

In an interview with ScreenRant, Daniel had a message for audiences in the upcoming Harry Potter show. “We’ve got to look out for these kids,” said Daniel. In addition, he pleads with people to “not ask about me, Emma (Watson) and Rupert (Grint) all the time.”

He insists that this series will be a brand-new thing for them and wants fans to embrace the new cast and the show’s adaptation. Daniel adds that he’s confident Dominic McLaughlin will do a wonderful job as Harry Potter in the series. Arabella Stanton will play Hermione Granger, while Alastair Stout will be Harry’s best friend, Ron Weasley.

Apparently, Daniel isn’t the only one wanting fans to move forward. David Thewlis said in an interview this month that he’s sick of talking about Harry Potter. He portrays Remus Lupin in the film franchise.

John Lithgow and Nick Frost are among the veterans who will be a part of the upcoming Harry Potter series. Janet McTeer and Paapa Essiedu have also been confirmed for the show. The series will premiere on HBO in the United States next year.

In court documents obtained by TMZ, Addison’s mom, Sheri, has filed for sole custody of the minor she shares with her estranged husband, Monty. The pair, who originally settled their divorce in 2022 after two decades of marriage, share three children, including Addison.

TMZ reports that Sheri listed several alleged incidents of abuse committed by Monty in the custody petition. This includes claims that Monty “degraded” and physically abused her.

There are also claims that Monty became aggressive when Sheri turned down sex. “He told her she was a b*tch for not wanting to have sex with him and that she ‘had to, it was her duty.'”

Elsewhere in the files, Sheri claimed that in 2008, Monty slapped Addison across the face for talking back to him. Sheri also accused Monty of having issues with alcohol. She stated he was arrested for driving under the influence on more than one occasion.

Sheri also pointed to her ex-husband’s recent arrest. Last July, he was arrested on a felony charge of exposing himself in an alleged incident that occurred in 2024. Reporting on the arrest, TMZ said the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office in Louisiana accused him of “exposing his genitals [or] pubic hair … with the intent of arousing sexual desire.”

Monty pleaded not guilty to the charge and had a bond set at $2,500. He has a hearing scheduled for March 19 of this year.

In response to the claims of abuse and Monty’s arrest, Sheri is demanding sole custody and child support.

According to royal author Omid Scobie, Harry tried to reconcile with his brother in 2023 by reaching out to an “intermediary.”

Omid told US Weekly that, while he was writing Endgame, he had “conversations with people very close to Harry.”

“One of the things that was shared with me was that Harry had reached out to an intermediary,” the author explained. “[It was] kind of a mutual friend between himself and his brother.”

“[Harry was] hoping that would allow them to have some kind of conversation together. Maybe with someone present, or through whatever channel,” the royal writer continued. Omid said, however, that William didn’t take his brother up on the offer.

“It didn’t happen,” he revealed. “It wasn’t received in any way whatsoever.”

To that end, Omid said a “stone wall is still up” between the formerly close brothers, who have not been seen in public together since August 2024. “Unless the attitudes change on both sides, we’re never going to find any way to resolution,” he added.

After Harry and Meghan stepped back from royal duties, they departed the UK and moved to California in the US. This didn’t help the rumored rift between the brothers, but it was reportedly worsened further by the release of Harry’s memoir, Spare, in 2023. Among other claims, Harry wrote that William called Meghan “difficult” and “rude” during a 2019 visit to his home.

The RHONY alum continued, “I don’t remember that. I swear to God, maybe I’m wrong, but I don’t remember any walk-offs. You have to tune in and see. I guess I have to tune in and see …,” Dorinda added.

Things have gone from bad to worse for Lindsey Vonn. The 2026 Winter Olympics were supposed to mark her return to the big stage. Instead, the alpine ski racer saw her Olympics literally come to a crashing halt.

She crashed in her opening run of the women’s downhill event and had to be airlifted to the hospital in Italy. That put an end to her Olympic comeback as she suffered a broken leg. Sadly, more heartache was to follow the 2010 Olympic gold medallist.

Lindsey announced on her Instagram account that her dog Leo died on February 9, the day after her freak accident. She says the K-9 had been battling lung cancer with his heart failing him. He had survived lymphoma a year and a half ago.

Lindsey shared the special bond that she had with Leo. She recalls him being there to comfort her after a second ACL injury, while they watched the Sochi Olympics together in 2014. Lindsey says it will take a while for her to come to grips with this loss, especially given how soon it occurred after her crash.

In 2024, Lindsey announced that she was coming out of retirement with the goal of competing at the 2026 Games in Milan-Cortina. She suffered an injury at a World Cup event just days before the start of the Olympics. Despite rupturing her ACL, she vowed to compete and power through it. That decision was questioned by many people.

In her illustrious career, she won 84 gold medals on the World Cup circuit. She also has three medals at the Olympics, including one gold and two bronzes. Lindsey’s post concluded that she was heading in for more surgery.

Hilaria Baldwin ‘Fake Accent’ Drama Resurfaces, but With Different Results

Actor Alec Baldwin’s wife Hilaria addressed her fake accent controversy recently. The former Dancing With the Stars contestant made mention of this at a Gurus Magazine Valentine’s-themed luncheon years following the public scrutiny.

Social media lit her up in 2020 when people noticed inconsistencies in both Hilaria’s background story as well as her accent. She notably appeared in a Today show cooking segment with a heavy accent, saying she did not know the word “cucumber.”

Page Six reports Hilaria laughed at the accent hubub during the magazine’s lunch after Gurus Magazine founder and stylist Derek Warburton thanked guests for coming. “Hilaria said ‘thank you’ in her signature faux Spanish accent and Derek joked back, ‘I love you whatever accent they think you use.’” Then about 50 people broke out in laughter, says a source.

Among attendees at the event held at Maison Close were designer Nicole Miller, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Sutton Stracke, publicist Anna Rothschild and former America’s Next Top Model judge Nolé Marin.

However, the Boston-bred mother of seven, born Hillary Hayward-Thomas, blames the accent on “code-switching.” In her book, Manual Not Included, she says ADHD and dyslexia contributed to the mix-up. The diagnoses “greatly impact” her speech, reading, listening, focus, memory and self-confidence, she wrote.

While addressing the public in 2020, Hilaria explained, “I spent some of my childhood in Boston, some of my childhood in Spain. My family, my brother, my parents, my nephew, everybody is over there in Spain now [while] I’m here.”

In her TLC reality show with Alec, The Baldwins, Hilaria mentioned the uproar, saying, “I love English, I also love Spanish, and when I mix the two it doesn’t make me inauthentic, and when I mix the two, that makes me normal. I’d be lying if I said [the controversy] didn’t make me sad and it didn’t hurt and it didn’t put me in dark places.”
