Survivor 42 Episode 5 Recap: Pop Goes The Weasel

It was a Survivor episode full of corny phrases, three of which were finally uttered out loud to activate three different “Beware Advantages” into actual Immunity Idols…the other silly line, given by Hai, perfectly summed up his perception of tribemates Chanelle and Daniel. “They’re like two weasels in a chicken coop,” Hai tells Lydia. And with Hai and Lydia firmly in control of their camp, it was about time for one of those “weasels” to go pop.

A few Tribal Councils ago, Daniel gave us his own reasons why he would never be able to win Survivor. Since then, he’s added to this resumé. After separating his shoulder mere minutes into the game, Daniel was then caught floundering during one of the most disastrous Tribal Council appearances in the show’s history. He had lost all trust, and all allies and as we saw tonight, even his physical limitations were starting to rub the rest of his tribe the wrong way. How was Daniel able to go spear fishing, yet he opts out of every Immunity Challenge due to his shoulder injury? How could Daniel not see the optics of this? Not that Daniel would have been much of a help to his tribe, but it is super-annoying to be laying it all on the line out there and have a feeling like someone on your tribe isn’t pulling their weight and giving it their all.

Daniel was a good character, and an even better story…a player that overcame all adversity battling and overcoming Leukemia since childhood. But he all but imploded out there, and maybe with the exception of his shoulder injury, all wounds out there in the game for Daniel were self-inflicted. As clear a target as he was though, I was a bit surprised that Hai, Lydia and Mike targeted Daniel over Chanelle this close to a suspected merge. Daniel is Daniel, and while both he and Chanelle would likely not work closely with Hai and company post-merge, you’ve got to believe that Daniel would probably end up imploding elsewhere. In comparison, Chanelle seems like a much more savvy Survivor player, a person who could become a major threat if she could just work her way from the bottom. Why not take out the bigger game threat now, and let Daniel put the inevitable target on himself down the road? That could have been a big blunder for Hai and Lydia’s game.

Much is being made over the single vote that was cast for Mike (from Chanelle). Why would Chanelle vote Mike and not put another vote on Daniel to help her chances of staying? Well first of all, Chanelle had no idea that Mike, Hai and Lydia were going to split votes, because even if Daniel would have successfully played his shot-in-the-dark (SITD), Chanelle would have gone home tonight. However, had all three votes been placed on Daniel like she must have thought, her vote for Mike would have forced a tie between Mike and her (assuming Daniel put his vote on Chanelle, and assuming again a successful SITD for Daniel). She likely still would have gone home, but she would have went down swinging. The risk of this move is that she now has pissed off Mike, but with the “not quite a merge” looming, who really cares? Chanelle wasn’t planning to work with any of these people anyways.

While Chanelle survives to fight another day, Hai and Lydia have a major asset in their corner with Mike, a guy who seems like he will favor loyalty above back-stabbing if and when it comes down to that point. I think Mike made the right call this episode in deciding to activate his vote and his Immunity Idol…they really needed Mike’s vote to survive this week, and it would have been foolish for Mike to be playing for three or four steps ahead instead of securing his next foot forward. But Hai and Lydia would be smart to keep Mike in their corner, because Mike will become a bigger target the further he gets in the game (nobody wants a nice guy like Mike to make it to the end because he could win!). And with an Idol now in his pocket, his loyalty to them could prove to be invaluable.

With Mike‘s Idol becoming active, so now is Maryanne‘s and Drea‘s. Drea is crushing it at the moment, now possessing lots of “Survivor cash” in the form of an extra vote, one of the three Amulets, and now an Immunity Idol. She’s also a fierce physical competitor and fully capable of winning some upcoming Individual Immunity Challenges. Poor Maryanne, who most thought was probably losing all of her marbles the past few weeks, rambling on about bunnies and whatnot, now has a bit of power…and with all three tribes knowing about the secret phrases and the Idols that are now active, she seems a bit less crazy…that is, unless you’re Jonathan, whose patience seems to be really wearing thin.

This is quite an exciting point in the game, because as we saw in the preview for next week, the tribes seem to be merging, even though Jeff Probst admitted that whatever was coming was “not quite” a merge. Will they all share the same beach but still be split into their tribes? What makes things very interesting is that for one of the first times in recent memory (maybe ever?) three tribes are going into a new phase of the game with equal numbers, four-to-four-to-four. There are no numbers advantages, and all three tribes have some toys to play with, in the form of Immunity Idols, extra votes and Amulets. How these advantages are played, when, and by whom, will most likely determine who will sit at that Final Three come Finale night.

Episode Take-Away: So who is set up to succeed at this new stage in the game? It’s hard to know what the twist is, but it’s so fun to speculate who might come out on top. Over at the incoming Blue Tribe, the power duo of Romeo and Drea seem like a force to be reckoned with, and once again they are working with all of Drea’s advantages. However Tori will likely be a wild card, and Rocksroy had his trust shaken as we saw play out in this episode. Of the Orange Tribe, Jonathan may have the biggest individual target on his back more than any other remaining player, simply due to his challenge dominance thus far…if he ever loses (and that’s a big “if”) a challenge, it may be in the best interest of everybody else in the game regardless of their original tribe to vote him out then and there. The good news for Maryanne, Omar and Lindsay are that none of them will be immediate threats, although Maryanne’s bubbly personality may be reason enough to target her first…her Idol makes that all the more interesting. Then with the Green Tribe, with Daniel now gone, Chanelle will be a free agent, and the trio of Hai, Lydia and Mike may seem to have an early leg up when it comes to their odds. There are so many ways this game can twist and turn, and with a very strong cast this season in my opinion, we could be in for a not-just-good-but-great stretch of post-merge episodes. Or, post-not-quite-the-merge episodes.

It all will start to reveal itself next week with a two-hour Survivor! Does that mean two people will go home? I’m not sure! But we shall soon find out!

Noella Bergener Explains Why She Said Karma Would Get Heather Dubrow; Heather Says “I’m A Good Person”

Looks like the feud between Heather Dubrow and Noella Bergener is not going to end anytime soon. The two have been going at it since the start of the season and its only intensified. Their current issue is a big one – Noella accused Heather of getting physical with a crew member during the filming of her sushi party on episode 2. Yes, we did see Heather say she wanted the cameras down. No, we did not see anyone being “slammed into a wall” like Noella claimed. And Noella admitted she didn’t even see it herself, but was told second hand what happened.

On a recent episode, the cast traveling to Aspen and things between Noella and Heather came to a head at dinner. After Heather denied Noella’s claims, Noella inexplicably suggested that karma would get Heather.

An incensed Heather told Noella that karma was already hard at work in her life, seemingly taking a jab at Noella’s messy divorce. I’m paraphrasing all this, mind you. But if you watched the episode, you probably had the same take away. Even though Noella was the first to hurl the insult, she seemed baffled as to why Heather would say that to her.

As reported by Reality Blurb, Noella took to the RHOC: After Show to discuss. When it came to Heather’s karma retort, Noella shared, “That was a nuke to my heart, what she said. I even had to break a fourth wall at that moment. I’m like, ‘Is this what we’ve become? Is this what we’re doing?’” Yes? Thanks to you!

Noella continued, “She’s the one that brought it up. She’s the one who keeps questioning my sanity. So it’s like, ‘No, I’m not insane. You acted crazy this night and that happened.'”

Noella explained, So at some point, just to shut it down, I’m just, ‘True or false? Did you put your hands on any member of the crew the night of your dinner party?’ Because I saw her push a camera. And she said, ‘False.’ And I’m like, ‘Good, but this is your karma. It doesn’t matter.’ I used it in a sense so karma isn’t cause and effect. Karma is are you going to learn from your life lessons and become a better person and for your soul to evolve.” Erm, ok.

In her own segment on the show, Heather feels like Noella deserved her comeback. Heather explained, “By this point, I know a lot about Noella’s backstory and I don’t understand how she can throw the word karma at me. My karma is good. I’m a good person.”

She continued, I have a nice life. I have a good family. It’s not perfect but I’m proud and grateful. What I don’t need is a person hurling lies, not just to me, but to my friends.”

And while Noella won’t back down from her claims that Heather pushed a cameraman, Heather categorically denied the claim. And warned Noella that she should be more careful about what she says.

Heather said, “If someone says something about you, whether it’s true or not, there’s always going to be a fraction of people who believe it and you have to be very very careful what you say. If you say I’m a fake b-tch, I can deal with that. Let’s talk about it. Have your opinion of me. But do not make up lies about me.”

Later in the episode, in trying to resolve things, Noella only made matters worse. When Heather walked away from the conversation, clearly frustrated, Noella called her “weak.”

Heather recalled, “She wouldn’t let me talk and that’s what always happens whenever Noella and I try to talk. [So] I walked away because it wasn’t worth it. And she said I was ‘weak.’ And then one of the other girls was like, ‘You should say something,’ I go, ‘Consider the source. I don’t care if she thinks I’m weak.’”

Heather added, “Which is it, am I powerful and slamming people against walls or am I weak?”

Regardless of the drama, Heather was still planning on having a good time on the cast trip. She revealed, “I can be self-protective, hang out more with the people I enjoy, not everyone has to do everything together. So I thought, ‘I’m going to be self-protective when I need to be and be polite and see how it goes.'”

Heather concluded, “I don’t have drama in my everyday life. I think I’ve done a really good job over the years of extracting myself from toxic relationships and limiting my exposure to people that I can’t extract myself from.”

Summer House Recap: The Hurricane After The Storm

To be quite honest, I was a bit indecisive about what to title this particular Summer House recap. What do you call the moment after a dinner party erupts into a red wine fight and broken glass everywhere? The calm after the storm but before the actual hurricane? That feels a little wordy, no? But either way, the damage has been done, with Ciara Miller erupting on Danielle Olivera and drenching the entire table in red wine in the process. Worst of all, Carl Radke‘s white pants are probably ruined now.

The fight is so intense that the two girls have to be physically separated by producers. And almost immediately, the regret starts kicking in. Ciara‘s left alone in a bedroom to think about what she just did. That is, until Mya Allen pokes her head in to deliver a possibly ill-timed pep talk about how Ciara’s so much better than stooping to the behavior she just displayed at the table. It’s a sentiment that probably sounded nice in the moment. But it’s not technically true, because Ciara was, in fact, the only one hurling wine and shattering glass at the table. So she’s not really above it, is she?

Outside, Danielle‘s rattled from getting pelted in the chest with a broken wine glass. And decides the best course of action is to leave the house and blow off some steam at the club with Lindsay Hubbard. Honestly, the roomies’ ability to go from fighting to partying without missing so much as a beat is almost admirable. Meanwhile, Andrea Denver and Luke Gulbranson missed the huge blow-up entirely. So they basically walk back into a crime scene. And Craig Conover makes several valid points laying the blame for all this drama at the feet of Austen Kroll. None of this would’ve happened if he hadn’t come into the house and turned all his attention on Lindsay. But at this point, everyone just really, really needs to go to bed.

The next morning, everyone’s still in shock. Also, a hurricane is still making its way right to the Hamptons. But Carl‘s determined to save the weekend by organizing a game of beach volleyball. Because of course Carlito happened to be a high school (and college) volleyball champ, in case you needed one more reason to love him. However, before any fun can be had, Ciara‘s determined to apologize to Danielle. For, you know, the wine-drenched crime scene that erupted the night before.

And the conversation goes…surprisingly well. The two are able to talk through the events of their clash calmly and respectfully, even setting the Lindsay of it all aside for the moment. Danielle promises that she can see the conflict from both sides — she’s not just her bestie’s yes man — and the roomies hug it out. Although in interviews since, Danielle has vowed to keep Ciara in the “acquaintance” category, so it’s clear they’ll never be BFFs.

For beach volleyball, the house is divided along generational lines. On one side, there’s Team Born in the ’80s. And on the other, there’s Team Born in the ’90s (plus Craig). Naturally, there are costumes involved. Because it wouldn’t be Summer House without an excuse to dress up. So Team ’80s pays homage to equal parts Top Gun and Baywatch, busting out their matching red tank tops, short shorts and a couple handlebar mustaches. Team ’90s, however, goes the extra mile and surprises their opponents by dressing up as their doppelgängers. We’ve got Paige DeSorbo as Luke. Amanda Batula and Mya as twin versions of Kyle Cooke — complete with the latter rocking a stye on her eye. Andrea as Lindsay. And Ciara as an unrecognizable version of Carl. But the moment is funny and finally (finally!) breaks the tension that’s been plaguing the house since the night before.

It turns out a little healthy competition is just what the Good Vibe Tribe needed to, well, bring back the good vibes. The weather may be stormy, but the mood on the volleyball court is light and dare I say a little bit cathartic? And despite most of the roommates’ general ineptness at the sport, Team ’90s manages to eke out a 5-4 win over their older counterparts. (Maybe it was Luke‘s insistence on wearing jeans for the game that cost Team ’80s the trophy?) Everyone gets medals though, even if the losers’ are inscribed with “Last Place.”

After the game, Kyle pulls Carl aside for an update on how things are going with his latest fling. And while Carl is enjoying dipping his toe back in the dating pool, his commitment to staying sober is his number one priority. So he’s not about to jeopardize that for a girl. Carl also gives Kyle some rational, measured advice about the whole prenup situation he’s been avoiding. Over on the other side of the beach, Amanda quizzes Craig about his intentions with Paige. And the Southern Charm-er admits he wouldn’t even be casually dating the fashionista if he didn’t see at least the possibility of someday watching her walk down the aisle towards him. So that’s just adorable.

However, all the relationship talk is interrupted when waves roll in to flood the beach. Because there’s still a hurricane coming, remember? The roommates scramble to grab all their belongings and hurry home to batten down the hatches. Which mostly involves getting all the patio furniture in the backyard to a safe place. Amid the chaos, Ciara takes the opportunity to avoid helping by finally pulling Lindsay aside to clear the air. And unlike HubbHouse’s refusal to talk for the past two weekends, the two actually manage to make some headway in their war over Austen.

Lindsay finally admits to having feelings for Austen. Which is the exact opposite of what she promised Ciara earlier this season in their first backyard heart-to-heard. But at least she’s being honest now. Though to be fair, she’s probably being less honest when she denies that she was being intentionally disrespectful to Ciara or trying to intentionally rub it in her face during her birthday party. Because, sorry, but pretty much every single one of her actions says otherwise. She does offer up her first apology in a long while, though. And ultimately it’s all water (or red wine?) under the bridge. Because if one thing came out of the past two weekends, it’s that Ciara is 100% over Austen Kroll. Have at him, Lindsay!

The weekend ends early due to hurricane prep. Though not before Danielle gets Craig and Paige‘s take on Charleston, since her boyfriend may be taking a job there. And we actually end the episode back in New York City. During the week, Ciara meets up for lunch with a local ER nurse to get advice about kickstarting her nursing career in the city. And Carl‘s absolute sweetheart of a mom and her new husband come to visit, mostly to hear about how Carl’s decided to pump the brakes on his budding romance. Sobriety first. We’re all proud of you, Carl!

We also get a peek inside one of Kyle and Amanda‘s couples therapy sessions. Which is probably a healthy habit considering their wedding is coming up in just a few weeks. With a mediator present, Kyle once again broaches the subject of a prenup. But Amanda admits she feels like even discussing one is like betting against their marriage before it even begins. She also has no intention of getting anything less than half of Loverboy if they ever split. But as of now, she hasn’t changed her mind: she’s not signing anything.

Real Housewives Of New Jersey Recap: Hungarian Food For Thought

The drama’s heating up between Margaret Josephs and Teresa Giudice on The Real Housewives of New Jersey. Once again, there’s another feud that could split the group down the middle. In a show where loyalty is everything, where does everyone’s loyalty lie?

Time to celebrate! Marge Sr. is turning 75! To mark the milestone birthday, Margaret is throwing her mother a lavish Hungarian bash. I personally LOVE Marge Sr. and as a personal friend of mine, I’m thrilled for her to reach this point in her life. Fabulous!

However, there’s some concern as to if her event can go off without any big drama. Margaret’s on the outs with Teresa, so if she’s on the guestlist, all hell could break loose. We can’t be having that!

Hearing the horrors of Marge Sr.’s childhood is heartbreaking. I can’t even imagine the sheer terror that must be felt to be trapped in a war-torn country. Then, to come over to the USA and not speak the language. Damn. The courage that it must’ve taken to get through every day and build something for herself. I can’t even imagine being stuck in a new place and having no tools to communicate. Terrifying.

Marge is in a good place with Jennifer Aydin, so she’s on the invite list. Not only that, but it looks like this will be the first time Bill Aydin is going to be around the other men after storming out. So much for no drama! With the way he left things, I’d expect a confrontation or two to go down.

Teresa’s finally moving in with Louie Ruelas, so she enlists Dolores Catania’s help in cleaning. Dolores hasn’t been on vacation since before the virus broke out, but that’s coming to an end. Before we can learn where they’re going, Tre blows up about Margaret and Traci Barber.

Teresa loves Margaret’s mother, but she’s not heartbroken about being left off the guest list. She doesn’t want to be around someone like Marge anymore. We are finally in a full-fledged feud between these two. The tension’s been bubbling beneath the surface for many seasons.

Traci and Tiki Barber drop by Melissa Gorga and Joe Gorga’s. Holy hell. These two will never learn. Why do they go out of their way to be besties with people that have tension with Teresa? Whether Tre is right or wrong isn’t even relevant. It’s another example of this family having zero concept of the definition of loyalty.

Melissa’s still dragging on about Antonia Gorga not wanting to return to cheer. Also, why’s she trying to compare her past hurt with her daughter’s? She’s negating her daughter’s feelings because Antonia didn’t go through as much trauma as her. Girl, bye.

She’s always finding something random to speak on to give herself a storyline. It’s almost as if the sole purpose of having the Barbers there was to bring up Antonia. Not cool. Either come up with something legitimate to share with the world or get off your sister-in-law’s show.

Jackie Goldschneider’s finally getting ice cream with her kids! What a huge step for her in her recovery. It was a big goal for her, and she’s making the effort to do this. Good for Jackie.

The first bite of ice cream was the first time in nearly two decades that she stepped outside her comfort zone. It was a gigantic freefall for Jackie, but she’s putting in the work. She’s tasting her kid’s ice cream too! What a major moment for Jackie in this recovery process. It might seem small, but it can’t be overstated how huge this was for Jackie.

Melissa’s at the gym with Antonia to keep working through her injury. The recovery process is in full swing, but hopefully, Melissa isn’t pushing her too hard. She hasn’t seen Antonia train in weeks, so she’ll get a better idea of what’s going on by witnessing it firsthand.

Melissa’s thrilled to hear that Antonia wants to tumble again. Thankfully, Antonia calls Melissa out for trying to paint a narrative of her being depressed. At least it gives Melissa the chance to admit she was projecting a little bit on her daughter. Hopefully, this is the first step forward for this mother-daughter duo.

Jackie speaks with her therapist, and she’s BEAMING with pride. However, it’s a little concerning that Jackie won’t accept any help from Evan Goldschneider. I can’t imagine it would hurt having her more prominently in her corner.

Jackie admits she only ate less than half of her cup of ice cream. She couldn’t stop thinking about it once she left though. Jackie felt like a “normal” person would skip a future meal because of having the ice cream. Thankfully, the therapist explains to her that it’s not the case.

Jackie’s fully aware of the dire consequences of her eating disorder. So much could negatively impact her health if she doesn’t try to get further in recovery. It’ll happen! I’m sure of it.

Bill’s happy to support Jennifer by attending the birthday party. It has to be awkward though because Marge is the person who outed the affair. She triggered the domino effect of the renewed issues between Jennifer and Bill. There’s no way he’s completely over what went down.

Kelly Dodd Calls Emily Simpson A “Liar” For Going To “Dark Side” With Heather Dubrow; Leaks Texts From Emily Again

Oh, Emily Simpson, what a tangled web you weave. To me, the surprise of the season on Real Housewives of Orange County has been Emily. And just how much she is willing to stir the pot. Apparently so much so that she has even involved scorned and fired housewife, Kelly Dodd.

As reported by Reality Blurb, Kelly decided to blow up Emily’s spot while also plugging her YouTube channel. Kelly took to her Instagram and posted, “EXCLUSIVE: See all the texts that prove my point on why Emily & Heather [Dubrow] are liars and why the ratings are so bad. NOW on this week’s [RHOC] Recap on our Rick & Kelly Unmasked YouTube channel! At least [Tamra Judge, Vicki Gunvalson,] and I all left on top !”

Kelly has been gunning for Heather ever since she came back to the show. She previously revealed texts from Emily talking about how Heather mistreats producers. This latest attack is addressing Noella Bergener’s allegations that Heather got physical during filming. Heather has vehemently denied the claims.

On the YouTube episode she teased with a video clip on Instagram, Kelly said Emily “screwed up” when she didn’t reveal what she knew about the incident. Said Kelly of Emily, “She is a liar. If Emily would have just said exactly how she felt instead of going on the wrong side, the dark side, which is Heather Dubrow, she would have made the show so much better. Emily screwed up. She thought all her eggs were in the basket for Heather. Bravo made the return of Heather so big that these girls got scared. That’s the truth. And Emily is one of these girls that want to be in the cool-girl group and she will do anything — and lie.” She added, “This is why this season is failing.”

Kelly went on to share the text messages that Emily sent her. Tsk tsk, Emily. I thought you were smarter than to text Kelly about this kind of thing. One of the messages from Emily read, “She flipped out on them and started screaming at them and tried to shut down the cameras. Se was yelling ‘Cameras down!’” In another message, Emily wondered, “I was like WTF. Are we allowed to do that?” After Kelly suggested that Emily bring it up on camera, Emily stated that Heather “acts like “she’s on a [sitcom].”

Kelly accused Heather of diva behavior, to which Emily said she was “surprised they wanted to deal with all that again.” Kelly’s last screenshot of the texts, Kelly called out Heather for talking down to people and proposed that production show her behavior as elitist. Emily responded, “They’d probably get sued.”

Kelly went on about the situation, “Emily did not say her truth in that dinner. She lied and said she didn’t know anything about it.” Kelly is referring to the latest RHOC episode where Heather stormed off after Noella’s allegations. Emily took Heather’s side and followed her out of the restaurant. Kelly complained, “If Emily would’ve been truthful and said, ‘She did do that,’ instead of kissing Heather’s butt, it would have been a completely different show. It would have been a better show. It would’ve been a truthful show.”

Naturally, Kelly’s Instagram comments section was a complete mess. One user noted, “Big deal. We saw Heather say to shut the camera down. Noella is talking about her putting hands on people. And for the [record] I can’t stand Heather. But I don’t see what this proves.” Amen to that! At least some fans aren’t falling for this. Kelly responded, “It proves that Emily had disdain for Heather and her behavior. Emily knew it was obnoxious and out of line and not ok but wouldn’t admit it and pretended she knew nothing when she gets confronted by [Noella] and lies about it!”

The Challenge Star Johnny Bananas Delivers Medical Aid To Ukraine

Johnny Devenanzio is a well known villain on The Challenge. But now he’s showing that he has a heart of gold when it comes to helping those in need. Much like celebs Bethenny Frankel and Dancing with the Stars pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Bananas heeded the call to help Ukrainian refugees fleeing from the war.

Johnny Bananas recently spoke with E! News about joining a humanitarian convoy to deliver medical aid and other supplies to the people of Ukraine. Despite the danger, Johnny recalled when a friend asked him if he would “make the trip.” He stated, “I just wanted to contribute in some way shape or form. And it’s easy to be like, I want to donate money to the Red Cross, or whatever. And that’s all fine and great, but I feel like I am able bodied enough. My skills would be better put to use if I was actually able to like go and contribute and be on the ground.”

To start his journey, Johnny flew into Poland, where he met a multitude of refugees. As of March 29th, over 4 million Ukrainians have fled the war. One refugee that Johnny met was a woman and her daughter. They had to leave behind her son and husband. Men from the ages of 18 to 60 are not allowed to leave Ukraine during the war. Johnny believes that the woman’s daughter was about 3 years old. Said Johnny of the interaction, “She goes, ‘she has no idea what’s even going on right now—she kind of thinks she’s on a trip. But We had to leave with nothing. We had to leave with the clothes on our back.'”

Some of the items that Johnny distributed to refugees include diapers, baby food, canned goods and candy. He also made a personal contribution – playing the guitar for two children in strollers at a Polish train station. Johnny revealed, “We sat down for probably three, four hours as people came off the train and kind of milled around this little area they were in, just handing out candy and playing guitar and just danced with them and sang with them. It was just another way for me to just kind of use. One of my talents to help put a smile on people’s faces.”

When it came to his travels to Ukraine, that in itself was hard to see as well. He recalled “people sitting around trash cans warming themselves and there’s babies that are bundled up and their parents are trying to keep them warm. And there’s little tents set up to provide people with hot meals and food.” Johnny went on, “The second you cross the border [into Ukraine], it just felt, you could feel just the suffering there. And you could just feel the crisis. I mean, there’s a line a mile long of people standing on the Ukrainian side of the border trying to get into Poland.”

After crossing into Ukraine, Johnny and the other volunteers went to the city of Lviv. Which was a dangerous feat. The day before, Russian forces were launching missile strikes only a few miles from the city. Lviv was previously considered a safe haven, but has since come under attack and its residents had no choice but to flee. Johnny and the group dropped off supplies to Ukrainian troops. He explained, “I mean, these are like, teenagers that are sitting there, that have stayed behind. They were so thankful that we went. We brought them a bunch of food. We brought them a bunch of supplies as well. We had someone donate a bunch of military helmets.”

Once he left Lviv, he ended his trip at an oncology hospital to hand out medical supplies. Johnny confessed, “I wish we had more. Like, I wish we had a semi-truck. I wish we had 10 semi-trucks full of stuff.” Once home, Johnny said his trip was “an eye-opening experience,” and said, “You just wish you could do more.”

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Recap: Parsifal’s Got Talent

Stress is the word of the day at the top of this week’s Below Deck Sailing Yacht. The crew is stressed that the boat’s not ready to receive guests. Captain Glenn Shephard is stressed that Tom Pearson isn’t competent or trustworthy enough to work the rest of the season. Tom’s stressed that Captain Glenn is about to fire him. And Gary King‘s stressed that Tom wants to talk to him about it. But rather than assuage the deckhand’s fears, the first mate passes the buck to Glenn, claiming whether Tom stays or goes is far above his pay grade. Things aren’t looking to good for Tom right about now.

And yet, there’s nothing to do but move forward. Because the fourth round of charter guests are on their way down the dock. Like, right now. Here goes charter number four! The boat’s barely left the dock and Tom‘s already making things worse for himself. Rather than, I don’t know, doing any of the million things that need to be accomplished on the boat, he chooses to sit with Colin Macrae and dissect his latest drama with Ashley Marti. Right in front of Captain Glenn! It’s the boating equivalent of the old restaurant adage, “If you have time to lean, you have time to clean.” And Captain Glenn is less than impressed that he has to prod the deckhand not once, but twice into doing actual work.

The boat eventually anchors at Cala Pregonda, and it’s time for the interior to prep for the guests’ meal of local Menorcan cuisine. And would you look at that? Ashley and Gabriela Barragan are even getting along as they set the table for dinner. Even though Ashley’s secretly fuming inside that Gary seems to have nothing but Gabriela on his romantic radar all of a sudden. But if you ask Gary, all three stews — including Daisy Kelliher — kissed him. Not the other way around.

Below deck, meanwhile, Captain Glenn is already hedging his bets and calling the onshore staffing agent to look for a replacement deckhand. However, he’s keeping that card close to his orange polo for not, not even letting Colin in on his plans when he asks in the crew mess. But from Glenn’s point of view, Tom still hasn’t understood the gravity of the situation that he put the boat in by nearly running aground. And if someone doesn’t have that basic level of judgement, you can’t teach it to them.

Chef Marcos Spaziani starts dinner service, and it’s honestly a lovely night. With only one charter guest dressed in a full-blown Spanish matador costume. The chef serves a traditional Spanish octopus with spicy aoli, lamb stew and some kind of butternut squash dessert. But the only thing I can focus on is the bald spot left on his head from where the poor guy literally scalped himself a few episodes back. Thank goodness the man’s hair grew back. Meanwhile, with Tom effectively benched, Captain Glenn puts Kelsie Goglia on anchor watch. Let’s hope another stew won’t wreck the boat overnight.

In the early hours of the morning, the anchor actually does leave the safe zone Captain Glenn has marked out for Kelsie on the radar. So to be safe rather than sorry, she wakes up Gary a little after 4 a.m. Even though there’s only five knots of wind. So there’s no real problem, but Kelsie gets a gold star for doing what Tom didn’t. And speaking of Tom, the more Captain Glenn considers his options, the more certain he gets that there’s only one solution. So when he calls the deckhand to the crew mess for a meeting the next day, it feels like a walk to the gallows.

Captain Glenn takes Tom to task once again for messing up on anchor watch. But the deckhand already knows what’s coming. So it’s hardly a surprise when Glenn fires him. And he takes it like a professional, only piping up to explain that he’s been deeply affected by things happening back home with his best friend’s dad’s health.

However, as Tom packs his things and makes his goodbyes — even getting a bit of closure with Ashley — I find it confusing that Glenn chose to let him go in the middle of a charter. It’s leaving the rest of the crew a man down in the middle of a charter. And his replacement has to go through an entire quarantine process anyway. So rather than asking Colin to step into a temporary deckhand role, why not just keep Tom on for a couple more days? It doesn’t make sense to me. But it’s Captain Glenn’s decision. Bye Tom! We’ll miss you?

To shake off the bad vibe once Tom leaves, Captain Glenn finally gets the boat back in sailing form, thanks to the long-awaited arrival of some wind. But having one less deckhand becomes glaringly obvious the second the boat anchors in Punta Prima. Gary tries to take a half-hour break at the exact same time the guests want to do water sports. And help themselves to raiding the laz for toys. Daisy‘s also left to watch the guests jump overboard — a deckhand’s job — while radio’ing Gary for help. Long story short, Gary would’ve been able to squeeze in a nap if Tom was still on board.

For dinner, Chef Marcos serves up a seafood-palooza. And between the mussels, scallops, lobsters, clams, calamari and more, there are lot of moving pieces. No really, they’re, like, fresh. Timing is critical for all the seafood, but somehow there’s a miscommunication between Marcos and Gabriela. So when the guests are ready to eat, there’s no food to serve. So Daisy‘s left wondering who exactly dropped the ball. The chef and second stew both throw each other under the bus. And the first course of shrimp tartare is served 20 minutes late. Good thing the guests are easy to please.

After the seafood-palooza is cleared away, it’s time for the crew’s talentless talent show. As specifically requested by the guests. Which is the only reason it’s happening. Colin serves as MC while the crew mates hurry through 20-second talent segments. Daisy and Gabriela — who apparently used to be a professional samba and salsa dancer — do a choreographed dance together. Marcos spins a pan on one finger like a basketball. Kelsie and Ashley bust out their Daisy Dukes and ponytails for some sort of line dance. Captain Glenn tells a bawdy dad joke that gets a big response from the guests. And Colin takes it home by busting out his guitar *swoon* for an original Elvis Presley-style song. But there’s one more surprise in store for the final number: Gary doing  a striptease for the male primary to cap off the night.

The next morning is day three. And Kelsie‘s greeted at the end of her night watch by one of the guests, who’s up at 6 a.m. to watch the sunrise. Which seems like an insane thing to do on vacation, but OK. The bigger problem is that not a single other crew member is up yet. Not even Captain Glenn. Because you’re supposed to be sleeping that early in the morning on a luxury sailing yacht. So Kelsie is left to play stew, fetching the guest cups of coffee and keeping him company until Gabriela wakes up for the morning shift.

However, in the process, Kelsie ends up slacking on the rest of her deckhand work. And Gary is less than pleased when he gets up on deck. The cockpit’s not ready. The sofas and chairs on deck are all still covered. What was Kelsie doing in between making two cups of coffee? Were they those confusing K-cup pods? But rather than take his frustrations out on Kelsie, Gary vents to Daisy and turns the early-morning guest into an argument between them. Gary wants Daisy to acknowledge that the deck team is having to pick up the interior’s slack while still a man down. Daisy wants Gary to put the blame on Kelsie instead of her department. And the episode ends with the two department heads in a tense standoff, with neither backing down.

TELL US – DID TOM DESERVE TO GET FIRED? DID IT MAKE SENSE FOR CAPTAIN GLENN TO LET HIM GO IN THE MIDDLE OF A CHARTER? WHO HAD THE BEST TALENT AT THE TALENT SHOW? WAS THE EARLY MORNING MISHAP ON DECK KELSIE’S FAULT?

Joe Gorga Says Gia Giudice Is “Just Too Young” To Be Involved In Drama On Real Housewives Of New Jersey

Teresa Giudice has been raging this season on Real Housewives of New Jersey. Margaret Josephs asked questions about Teresa’s fiancé, Luis “Louie” Ruelas’ past. And then there was that bizarre video, which set the RHONJ cast talking. Teresa would like Margaret to butt out of her romance.

Last season, Teresa spread an unfounded rumor that Jackie Goldschneider’s husband, Evan Goldschneider, was having an affair. Jackie hit back with an analogy that Teresa’s daughter, Gia Giudice, did drugs. Teresa was furious.

Teresa’s bestie, Jennifer Aydin, claimed that she was digging for dirt about Evan “to appease” Teresa. Finally, after allowing Jennifer to take all the heat, Teresa admitted that she asked her to look for incriminating information. When Margaret told Jackie that Teresa played Nancy Drew, she was pissed.

Before Dolores Catania’s charity softball game, Teresa texted her co-stars and requested that they wear her athletic line for the event. She had given them the clothing during the treescape meltdown. When Teresa, and Gia arrived, they immediately wanted the ladies to change into the workout garb.

In a clip from RHONJ shared by bravohousewives Instagram page, Margaret responded, “No. We’re good.” Then Gia decided to channel her inner Housewife and jump into the drama. “You’re all wearing the same thing anyways. We’re all wearing black leggings,” Gia remarked. “She supports you guys with everything.” I still feel like Gia is 10 years old.

According to Reality Blurb!, the cast discussed Gia’s involvement in the drama on the RHONJ: After Show. “I don’t need to launch someone else’s line while we’re there and I don’t want to talk about it,” Margaret stated. “This is about the charity and Dolores and all the good things she does.”

Jackie wasn’t going to wear Teresa’s line because Teresa “was pushing somebody to dig for information on my husband [Evan Goldschneider] so [she] could destroy my family.” Jackie added, “I’m not going to be a f-cking walking billboard for your new brand.”

Teresa shaded Margaret and Jackie for refusing to change their clothes. “Jennifer wore it. Dolores, this was her event, and Dolores actually changed. And Melissa put them on,” Teresa said. “It’s like everybody that I thought would. Jackie’s a follower. Margaret didn’t do so Jackie didn’t do it.”

As for Gia involving herself in the situation? Teresa was here for it. “It felt good because I don’t have too many people sticking up for me,” Teresa commented. Say what now? What about Dolores and Jennifer?

Teresa’s brother, Joe Gorga, didn’t want to see Gia mixing it up with the Jersey ladies. “I think she’s just too young right now to get involved. I just want her to go be happy, be a [then-20-year-old] and just go enjoy her life,” Joe explained. “She’s been through enough sh-t in her life. Just don’t get involved in this stuff.”

Joe’s wife, Melissa Gorga, admitted that it was awkward. “Margaret is essentially like a 52-year-old woman. To even try to have a conversation with a 20-year-old is just weird,” she said.

Jackie added that it’s “very uncomfortable” to be involved in a disagreement with someone’s child. “I was upset,” Margaret commented. “I was like, ‘Gia’s a nice young woman. She doesn’t need to be in this drama.’”

This isn’t the first time that Gia dabbled in the drama department. She slammed Joe as “disrespectful” because of the comments that he made about her father, Teresa’s ex-husband “Juicy” Joe Giudice. They argued, and later made up, but Joe was hurt by Gia’s comments.

It seems like Gia is looking for a Housewives paycheck next season.

Real Housewives Of Atlanta Alum Eva Marcille Is Pregnant With Fourth Child

Eva Marcille is about to have her hands very full! The former Real Housewives of Atlanta star was already busy with her three children and marriage to Michael Sterling. And she was tapped to star in Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip season 2. Now she’s surprising fans with her next “project.”

As reported by Hollywood Life, Eva took to her Instagram page to announce that she is expecting her fourth child! Eva, who boasts 4.6 million followers, told fans “the cat is out of the bag!” Her post featured a cute pic of Eva and Michael hugging on what looks like a beach vacation. She gushed, “And another one!!!! We are so excited that the cat is out of the bag!” Eva joked, “There goes my summer!” before concluding, “But I could not be happier.”

The season 3 America’s Next Top Model winner also shared Michael’s Instagram post. He wrote, “My wife, Eva and I are so excited to welcome our new addition, baby Madison, into the Sterling family coming this fall.”

While fans original thought it was an April Fool’s joke, given that she posted on April 1st, the warm wishes already started to pour in. Former RHOA costar Cynthia Bailey questioned, “Omg!!!! Is the real? Sooooo excited.” RHUGT castmates Dorinda Medley, Tamra Judge, Vicki Gunvalson and Phaedra Parks also commented with their well wishes. Even housewives super fan Nicki Minaj liked the post.

Eva and Michael currently share two kids together. They welcomed son Michael Jr. in 2018 and just one year later, son Maverick joined their family. Eva also has 8 year old daughter Marley Rae from a previous relationship. But Marley is so close with step-father Michael, she legally took his last name in 2020.

While Eva has discussed wanting to expand her family, she also has acknowledged the complications of her past pregnancies. In March of 2020, she told The Daily Dish, “I always said I wanted five, right? Well, I said I wanted none, and then I met the man of my dreams, and I said I wanted five, but now after having complications, like, a lot of complications with the last pregnancy, I’m not super eager to, like, jump in and find out that it’s positive on the stick.”

Congrats to Eva and her growing family!

Former Netflix Cheer Star Morgan Simianer Is Engaged

Finally some good news out of the popular Netflix show Cheer! The show’s second season had a darker tone, thanks to the pandemic and allegations against Jerry Harris. And one of my favorites, Morgan Simianer, wasn’t a main part of the season. She was heavily featured in season one and her heart breaking backstory won over fans. She graduated from Navarro in 2020 and couldn’t compete in that year’s championships due to the pandemic cancelling everything. For season 2, she was only briefly shown cheering on her old teammates at the Daytona Championships. But now that she’s moved on, she has found happiness outside of cheerleading.

As reported by Page Six, Morgan is now an engaged woman! She just announced on her Instagram that boyfriend Stone Burleson proposed while the couple was in Dallas, Texas. She captioned a photo of them kissing, “He stole my heart, so I’m stealing his last name. I can’t wait to marry my best friend. I love you unconditionally, Stone.” Morgan used pictures from her engagement photos at the HALL Arts Hotel.

Apparently, Stone tricked Morgan into going to the hotel for a fake interview and photoshoot with none other than Monica Aldama, her former Cheer coach. Once there, she was met by Stone. Speaking of stones, he proposed with a 2 and 3/4 carat diamond. The center stone is set among a halo of diamonds and features and 18K yellow gold band. That’s quite the rock!

But the surprises continued for Morgan. After the proposal was complete, Morgan was greeted by her close family and friends. A celebration ensued. On Stone’s Instagram, he posted his own adorable message. He captioned the same picture of them kissing and wrote, “On Saturday, the woman of my dreams blessed my entire world by saying ‘Yes.’ Morgan Lyn Simianer, I can’t wait for my life with you by my side.” Morgan gushed in his comments, “I love you!!! I get to marry my best friend!!!”

The engagement comes just two weeks after the pair celebrated their one year anniversary. Morgan shared with People, “I’m so excited I get to marry my best friend. I’ve been dreaming about this day since I was a little girl. Stone has made my dreams come true. I’m so excited to be with him for the rest of my life.”
