Below Deck Mediterranean Recap: Ice, Ice Baby.

Wow. Lara Flumani has set a new record for the worst stews in the history of Below Deck Mediterranean. And that is a show that has no shortage of emotionally challenging stewardesses! It’s almost like the editors wanted to give Hannah Ferrier a redemption send-off so they hired a person who would definitely make Hannah look good, no matter what.

Lara and Hannah just can’t seem to find any common ground. I blame Lara who views the entire world as being made of extra sharp knives she has to walk over. I refuse to believe she was some sort of super stew, as she claimed on her CV.

Lara has decided that Hannah is not her boss because she doesn’t like to be bossed, whereas Hannah has decided that Lara definitely needs to be bossed. And sassed. Honey. While the guests are playing an after-dinner drinking game, Lara and Hannah are arguing while clearing the table. This all came about because Lara feels condescended to by Hannah requesting she do 3rd stew responsibilities because she has a bad attitude. So hat does Lara do but fight bad attitude with a bad attitude.

Hannah just wants some respect for the seniority of her position. Lara isn’t going to give that so Hannah decides she can be second stew in name only, oh, and she’s switched from lates to early last-minute.

The next morning Lara gets the opportunity to stretch her legs and prove her resume isn’t full of lies! Hannah is in bed and it’s only Lara and Jessica More on breakfast service. Unfortunately, the only thing Lara can accomplish is setting the table. Which she does. Well. What she does not do well is manage the flow of breakfast. Doesn’t this girl have a million years of experience? She forgets to even ask if the guests want eggs, until Jess reminds her and Lara makes up some of excuse that she has to micromanage Jess making juice.

When Lara finally does take the breakfast order she has no idea what soft boiled eggs are and neither does Chef Kiko Lorran. It turns out Kiko doesn’t either, so maybe this is an American concept for how to treat an egg, so they wind up googling it. The difference is Kiko is sweet-natured and happy, where as Lara snarls that she’s not a chef.

Lara also snaps at Jessica to basically go do the work of a third stew, as if Jessica isn’t allowed any opinions. Ugh.

When Hannah finally wakes up, she finds Lara calmly doing cabins. She asks her to check the water supply. Lara doesn’t know where it’s kept and when she learns she has to climb into a tiny closet, with a little round door, like the witch’s oven in Hansel & Gretel, Lara refuses. She literally starts waking away and tells Hannah to do it herself. Finally one of the deckhands has to go retrieve the water. Psss… hint – the witch didn’t eat him. That’s because the witch is Hannah and she only has an appetite for Lara.

Breakfast went so badly that Kiko and Jessica actually request that Lara permanently stay behind closed doors like the freaky relative from the Victorian era that would bring shame upon the family.

Then of course its time for water toys. If I have to hear Captain Sandy Yawn say one more time that she wants all the toys out my head might explode.  Sandy — no one thinks your boat is enticing and fun when it looks like a Memorial Day sale at Walmart. Anyway, Sandy wants all the toys out. Malia White is fine with handling Captain Sandy, but she’s getting a bit tired of The Unit’s unit-ism.

He’s interrupting her, he’s dismissive, and he clearly doesn’t respect her authority. At least Pete Hunziker stopped calling her “sweetheart.” Does he think it’s 1955? Honestly, Malia should just call him sweetheart right back. That or “honey.”

After initially bonding with his fellow-American ‘bro’ Alex Radcliffe is starting to realize that Pete’s ways are gonna get him slapped with a #MeToo hashtag after his name. Also, the dude has his dog’s ashes on a dog tag around his neck or something…

Well, at least these guests appreciated the toy bonanza. And it should’ve given Kiko plenty of time to prepare lunch, but instead he made paella and left the starving guests sitting there for an hour waiting. While this was happening Hannah went looking for Lara. She finds her cleaning the crew mess and acting as if Hanna’s head deserved a does of SHOUT!

Hannah wants Lara to get on laundry and leave cleaning the crew mess, which was on the stew schedule accidentally. Lara digs her heels in, clicks them together, and smirks at Hannah as she says “Almost Home… to you.”

Lara refuses to do laundry until the crew mess is cleaned, per the task sheet, and Hannah is adamant that her personal instruction takes precedent over a piece of paper. Especially when she’s the one who made the schedule, and is now admitting that it was wrong.

Lara fake-calmly (but patronizingly) tells Hannah to calm down. Then when she has to reach around her to access the dishwasher, Lara and Hannah’s tenseness spills over. Hannah accuses Lara of posturing and orders her not to touch her. Lara is unbothered and tells us all a story about how she fought with her kindergarten teacher too. Basically, Lara’s been a bitch since birth.

While he’s taking his break Pete overhears from his bunk. It gave him a wet dream.

After threats from Hannah, Lara finally retreats to the laundry where Hannah approaches her about starting over. Instead, Lara just wants to tell Hannah that she’s rude and she will not take it. Hannah stomps away mid-discussion. Lara is bitter because she is doing 3rd stew duties and wants Hannah to suffer for it.

Dinner would’ve been great if Captain Sandy hadn’t meddled. She’s joining the guests for their last supper and decides this is the time to publicly issue gripes and complaints.

First, there is an issue with the taco salad. 7 are run instead of 8. One poor sweet girls is left sitting there as everyone else eats instead of waiting for her — including Captain Sandy! Hannah manages to salvage the plating nightmare by pretending this was intentional because the guest requested a lighter portion.

Then come the steaks. Absolutely beautiful with these pretty little French new carrots on top. But alas there are no steak knives! Whomever set the table didn’t lay any. Hannah is non-plussed as she sends Jess to get some. Sandy meanwhile barges into the kitchen like some sort of high fallutin hostess with the mostess to prove to yell at Kiko for the steaks being tough. What a nightmare. She sees to focus more on what’s going on with the interior crew and less on micromanaging every breath Kiko takes!

The steaks turn out to be perfect with the correct utensil. Sandy radios Kiko from the table to snarkily apologize. Afterwards, Hannah and the crew bring out the cake. It’s an absolutely beautiful cake with the tip looking like a collage of flowers. The recipient of said cake would rather be shotgunning a beer.

Lara and Hannah manage to get through the night without and skirmishes or uprisings. The next morning is a different story…

The next morning Lara takes it upon herself to open 30 minutes late for work.  Apparently, she’s only able to follow Hannah’s schedule when it’s not important. It also seems like maybe the guests didn’t get breakfast? As Hannah is preparing for their departure, Lara sidles up and declares that she has 2 things to say. Hannah asks her to wait until the guests have left, and Lara seems fine with that. Or does she…  Malia also manages to survive her first docking with minimal issues.

Despite waiting half the day for food, the guests still have a generous tip. After the tip meeting, Hannah goes to find Captain Sandy for advice on how to handle Lara. Sandy advises Hannah to find a way to connect with her and reset the situation, even though Sandy agrees her energy is super negative.

So Hannah, to her credit, tries. She calls Lara up to the main salon for a chat, and plans to suggest they begin anew. Instead, Lara condescendingly tells Hannah that if she’s going to be rude to her, she can expect Lara to be double rude back – and even worse she’ll be late for her shift out of revenge punishment. I have never seen anyone be so utterly and flagrantly dismissive of their superior. Lara’s tone is straight-up cold as she lectures Hannah on how their relationship is gonna go — or else.

Hannah calls Lara “disgusting,” and then realizes she needs help from a higher power. So she goes to get the Captain. This is big-time problems!

The most interesting thing about last night’s episode, however, was hearing how modeling saved Rob Westergaard from the life of crime he was headed towards as a way to save his mother from alcoholism. He was literally selling drugs to pay for his mom’s treatment, but she wound up dying from liver failure anyway. Rob’s soft-spoken, deep voiced delivery was like listening to a book on tape. That should be his next career move.

90 Day Fiance Before The 90 Days Recap: Tell All Part 2

Last night’s episode of 90 Day Fiance Before The 90 Days  is the conclusion of the two-part finale special. Although it’s not as action packed as Part 1, there are still many surprising updates that are uncovered.  Host Shaun Robinson dives back in to discuss more of the biggest moments with the couples and updates on where their relationships stand now.

David sheds more light on his relationship with Lana. Usman Umar and Lisa Hamme  talk about their plans for the future. Tom Brooks reveals his intentions with Avery Warner. Let’s get straight into the 90 Day Fiance Before the 90 Days recap!

Darcey, 45(Connecticut) & Tom, 39 (England)

When we last left Tom he was threatening to leave if Avery was allowed to continue talking. According to Avery, Tom propositioned her for a date when she and Ash Naeck broke up. When he was rejected, he sent screenshots to Ash in an attempt to make her look bad. Ugh… can’t we just pretend like Tom was never on this show and get rid of him? Once he realized his tantrum wasn’t going to work, he reappeared on the screen smoking a cigarette.

Avery is forced to apologize when Ash confesses to lying about receiving a screenshot because he was hurt.  Although Tom didn’t send any messages, he did call Ash to confirm that he was no longer in a relationship with Avery. Tom denies asking her on a date and sums up their conversation as harmless flirting. Huh? Anytime you begin a conversation with your relationship status and suggest going out together that is a date.

Shockingly, Darcey Silva maintains her composure and says she isn’t surprised at all. Baby girl Lisa jumps to his defense revealing Tom also asked her to meet as well when they both were in New York. She then suggests Avery read more into his invitation. Lisa, there was a huge difference in those invitations for a variety of obvious reasons.

Lisa, 52 (York, Pa.) & Usman “SojaBoy,” 30 (Nigeria)

Once the conversation shifts to Usman and Lisa, things get heated almost immediately. Despite getting married in Nigeria, they have already blocked each other on social media several times. Usman cites Lisa’s anger issues as the reason they have so many issues. He then asks the women on the cast if Lisa’s behavior is representative of all American women. When Ed Brown and Avery jump to Usman’s defense, Lisa unleashes her inner beast. A screaming match between Ed and Lisa ensues where he accuses her of treating Usman like a goat.

Umm… I don’t know how you treat a person like a goat, but Lisa definitely displayed a controlling and angry demeanor the entire season. Lisa accuses Usman of cheating emotionally. She found inappropriate conversations with other women in his phone on more than one occasion. One of these women is a porn star who has 2.3M followers on social media. Usman claims he only entertained the conversations because of his music career.

Things get interesting when Usman is asked whether he intends to take another wife. In Nigeria, a man is allowed to have up to four wives. He replies that he will take another wife, only if Lisa can’t have a child. Weirdly this doesn’t seem to surprise or bother Lisa. She downplays the role of a second wife in comparison to herself. Huh? This woman goes crazy if his fans talk to him on Instagram. Suddenly she is okay with him having sex, a baby, and a household with another woman? Is this the twilight zone? Obviously, she has accepted this as the reality because, at 53, Lisa is not having a baby.

Usman reveals he doesn’t plan to move to the United States. So what was the point of marrying Lisa? If he decides to take a second wife, she has to come from his hometown. So will Lisa just watch him start a new life from afar? If his motive wasn’t a green card, it had to be exposure for his music career.  There is no way he dealt with Lisa this long without getting something out of it. When she is asked whether she intends to move to Nigeria, she says “that is a private matter between Usman and myself.” Girl, please! Lisa, just take this L and move on.

 

David, 60 (Nevada) & Lana, 27 (Ukraine)

Initially, no one believed that David’s Ukrainian love, Lana existed. Viewers were shocked to find out that not only was she real, but they finally met. After speaking for 7 years with numerous failed attempts to meet, it seemed that it would never happen. Today, Lana is still on the paid dating website, despite being supposedly engaged.  When David is asked why he would be okay with this, he becomes agitated and claims she uses it to speak to her friends. David then states that Lana doesn’t use the iPhone he bought her because of her nails.

When Ed calls bullshit and laughs, David demands that he is removed from the screen or he will leave. At this point, I am okay if he leaves. David decides to stay when Ed apologizes. This man has admitted to thumbing through mail order bride catalogs and spending $300,000 to talk to foreign women since the 90’s. There is no amount of talking that is going to change David’s mind.

90 Day Fiance alum, Caesar joins the conversation to share his perspective on paid dating websites. If anyone saw his season, he and David are basically had the same storyline. Caesar reveals that he actually met his long-distance love, Maria after the show ended, but nothing changed in their relationship. Once he returned home, Maria just wanted money. In a crazy twist, we learn David actually chatted with Maria for a short time as well.

David is clearly in denial and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.  I’m still confused after listening to him defend his relationship with Lana. At one point he says he doesn’t consider them together, but then says they are engaged. What the hell??? David, just admit that you got played. You may have gotten a kiss or two, but Lana has no intention on marrying you unless it’s as a last resort.

Below Deck Mediterranean Star Hannah Ferrier Is Pregnant With Her First Child

Congratulations to Below Deck Mediterranean Chief Stew Hannah Ferrier!! During the season 5 premiere episode, she revealed that she was dating someone and for the first time, she was with a guy who she could envision herself marrying and having children with.

Well, clearly, her intuition was on point. Tonight, Hannah announced that she is pregnant with her first child. No wonder she’s done with Below Deck Mediterranean. It’s still unclear if she quit or got fired, but it would make sense if she decided to step away after finding out that she is pregnant. Who would want to be a pregnant chief stew filming a reality TV show? The job itself seems exhausting enough. Throw in a pregnancy and that would just be a lot to deal with, or so it seems.

On Twitter, Hannah shared a photo of herself, showcasing her baby bump. She captioned the photo with “You are already my favourite adventure little one.” She didn’t mention anything about the baby’s father in the post, but, perhaps, she’s just keeping her relationship under wraps for the sake of a storyline on the show.

Hannah’s on-again-off-again sparring partner Captain Sandy Yawn responded, “Congratulations Momma!”

Hannah And Lara Argue On Below Deck Mediterranean Tonight

Below Deck Mediterranean is back tonight with another new episode. Last week we got to “meet” all of the new crew members in addition to getting reacquainted with Captain Sandy Yawn, Hannah Ferrier, and Malia White.

Right from the jump, Chief Stew Hannah had tension with Second Stew Lara Flumiani. And those issues continue on tonight’s Below Deck Mediterranean episode.

In other stewardess drama, there’s a miscommunication between Hannah and Jessica More about what a “pantry” is, which seems like it should be a part of Yacht Stewardess 101. However, there could be some cultural differences at play here… maybe. Jessica remarks, “I’m trying my hardest not to get on Hannah’s bad side.” As fans have seen, that’s a smart game plan. However, she’s not off to the best start. At least Hannah seems to have her hands full with Lara.

Lara refuses take direction from Hannah, which is what she is supposed to do.

In other news, chef Hindrigo “Kiko” Lorran has to deal with some guests who are not satisfied with his cooking.

Scheana Marie Says Kristen Doute “Got A Lot Of Sh*t” She Didn’t Deserve At The Vanderpump Rules Reunion

Poor Kristen Doute. It always seems like she is the one who gets the short end of the stick on Vanderpump Rules. There are some people who get a free pass, ahem Jax Taylor, and others who are always in the wrong. For example, when Jax and Kristen hooked up while her boyfriend Tom Sandoval was in the other room, it was Kristen that no one could forgive. It takes two, y’all!

When Kristen needed Katie Maloney and Stassi Schroeder to be there for her during her tumultuous relationship with Brian Carter, they got tired of Kristen’s back and forth and ended their friendship with her. Even during the Pump Rules reunion, Kristen got ganged up on when it was revealed she had slept with Max Boyens right before he started dating Dayna Kathan. And Max got crickets! However, one person has come forward to defend Kristen. Scheana Marie has stepped up to the plate and has a lot to say on the matter. 

So why come forward now and not during the reunion? Perhaps Scheana is trying to clean up the bully image she gained this year for hazing Dayna when she first started at SUR. Or maybe Scheana is honestly defending her friend. Either way, I’m sure Kristen was happy that someone is finally stood up for her. 

US Weekly reported that Scheana defended Kristen on an episode of her Scheananagins podcast, and talked about how she was mistreated during the reunion. Regarding the revelation Kristen had slept with Max, Scheana said, “She was a single girl last year. Max was a single guy last year. They had sex twice, drunk.”

You would think Dayna would have been the most upset at the reunion once the bomb was dropped. But that honor went to Stassi. She couldn’t wait more than ten seconds before she used that information to attack Kristen.

Stassi had said to Kristen, “I’m f—kng shook right now because I thought that Dayna and Kristen were friends, and this is f—king weird. You were born shady, you remain shady, you will always be shady. And you’re a liar and you have no remorse…This is about you hooking up with another one of your friends’ ex-boyfriends ‘cause you always need to do that.”

Scheana didn’t quite agree with Stassi’s take. Scheana said, “Are [Kristen] and Dayna … were they friendly? Of course! We’re all friendly with her…but it’s like, they were never super close. … I dated him longer than her and although hers is more fresh, I am completely unbothered by this.” Is there anyone on the cast that hasn’t slept with Max?

Scheana noted that overall, “The reunion … was not good for her. She got a lot of sh-t that I don’t think she deserved.” I wonder what else Kristen will have thrown at her in the next two episodes? If anything, it will be more material for her next book.

90 Day Fiance Star Erika Owens Addresses Skepticism Over Stephanie Matto’s Sexuality

This season of 90 Day Fiance: Before The 90 Days was one hot mess. And I mean that in the most complimentary of ways. After all, isn’t that why we watch? Part of the reason this season was so messy was the fact that NONE of the couples got along. Sometimes it was hard to believe they were in love, much less in like with each other.

One such couple that had problem after problem was Erika Owens and Stephanie Matto. Erika is a colorful (literally) Aussie and Stephanie is her uptight  girlfriend from Yonkers, New York. Further complicating matters is that neither of them were officially out as bisexual to their parents. It seemed like Stephanie didn’t want to admit anything to her conservative mother either way. Coupled with ongoing trust issues, they did nothing but fight during Stephanie’s visit to Australia. But one noticeable story line was Stephanie not wanting to touch or be affectionate with Erika. Stephanie later claimed it was because of medication but some aren’t buying it.

90 Day Fiance fans have taken to social media to question Stephanie’s sexuality. Now Erika is speaking out on the matter. She recently told Entertainment Tonight, “Honestly, I can only speak for my experience and who I am. Sexuality is a very personal thing, and sometimes it takes, like, exploring yourself to be able to figure that out, you know? It sucks that at some points, it felt like the figuring out of things was at my expense, but I’m not gonna sit here and say that she is something or she isn’t, because that’s her own personal journey.”

Regardless of their personal issues, Erika is defending  Stephanie. She continues,”I don’t think it’s fair for them to say that in the first place to a stranger and secondly, you know, to even make a judgment in the first place. Of course, like, people can have their doubts or whatever, but like I’ve mentioned before, this is Steph’s journey and its no one’s place to, like, publicly go for her.”

Erika maintains that she had no intention of pressuring Stephanie to come out. She adds, “Obviously, the breakup was very intense and it didn’t start off that intense and then it kind of spiraled very, very quickly.”

Erika admitted, Once we shut the cameras off, I was not in a good place for a while after that. After the bowl throw, I actually sat in bed for quite some time and I was just crying. It was not good mentally for me. I wouldn’t say I was fearing for my life or anything, but you know, it was a very intense moment that really startled me and kind of put me in a very negative head space that was not great. … For a couple of weeks after that I was not OK.”

I think it’s fair to say that Stephanie’s transparency about her sexuality didn’t cause the breakup. Erika and Stephanie were rocky from the jump. But how much of her hesitation in coming out actually contributed to an already rift in their relationship?

Joe Giudice Has His Own Cooking Show Now

It’s been a busy year for Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Joe Giudice. Despite having his final deportation appeal denied, he seems to be thriving in Italy. I don’t think anyone really wanted to see the break up of his family, even if he wasn’t the best husband to Teresa Giudice. But it seems that both of their lives have moved on and both of them are doing well.

So how is Joe staying busy? He recently signed a deal to be in a celebrity boxing match. It sounds like a good fit for him after showing off all his moved on his Instagram. Joe has also decided he’s going to sell vibrators. Yes, you heard me right. In case you missed it, we reported that Joe has partnered up with a sex toy company to peddle said vibrators. And why not? Get those coins, Joe! Finally, Juicy is starting his own podcast, which is kind of funny. Especially since Joe is a man of so few words.

All those ventures pale in comparison to what’s next on Joe’s agenda. According to In Touch Weekly, Juicy is making his return to reality TV by hosting his own cooking show. Aptly titled Juicy Joe’s Cucina: From Italy to Jersey, Joe will be competing against others on every episode. He’s even competing against his own family!

The show’s creator and executive producer is Robyn Levy, who briefly appeared on RHONJ in season 7. She’s still Joe’s friend and is giving the scoop on their new show. According to Robyn, “Joe’s side of the family will definitely be participating. He appreciates his family’s involvement and support. At this time we can’t confirm whether Teresa will be taking part because of her contract with Bravo. But Joe hopes that his four daughters — Gia, Milania, Gabriella, and Audriana — will join him virtually.” Ok, that actually sounds fun.

Robyn continues, “For the finale, the person who makes the winning recipe will be flown for a cook-off against Joe in the Bahamas. We don’t have to film with him in Italy  — it can be him in another country. We have some opportunities that we can make happen, we just have to figure out the logistics and the details.”

She adds, “Joe knows some pretty big people in the food industry. What viewers will see is Joe pursuing his favorite hobby. Aside from being there for his family, food and wine is what he’s really passionate about. Cooking comes naturally to him.”

Pre-production will begin next month and filming should start in the summertime. The show is being produced by Red Coral Productions, which will be streaming Juicy Joe’s Cucina: From Italy to Jersey on their app.
