News exclusive...The Hills: New Beginnings will not be coming back for a third season and I am probably the only person who’s sad about it. The reboot followed OG cast members Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt, Brody Jenner, Audrina Patridge, and Jason Wahler as they battled absolutely zero issues and relived drama and romantic attachments from decades past. Basically, nothing happened in its short run. But some of us (me) didn’t need story or plot points to watch. The nostalgia of watching Justin Bobby Brescia share “deep” thoughts was enough.
The cast also included hot new faces like Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee’s son, Brandon Thomas Lee, and snoozes like Kaitlynn Carter and Caroline D’Amore. But it was Kristin Cavallari’s comeback that made watching totally worthwhile. Perhaps the show wouldn’t be cancelled if Brody’s pleas were heard by MTV. The only good thing is that Spencer can go back to selling his crystals in peace, away from “the worst people ever.”
While E! News “confirms” that “MTV canceled the reality revival after two seasons,” they also report that “there may be some hope for a new show in the future.” Apparently “a source close to production told TMZ that The Hills franchise ‘will live on with new iterations to come’.”
Does this mean in the future they’ll actually get Lauren Conrad to come back? Probably not. Lauren has admitted in the past that “she doesn’t watch ‘any’ reality television these says, explaining, ‘It’s a little triggering for me’ after The Hills.”
It’s hard to tell what’s next for the cast. Kaitlynn is a new mom. Whereas Heidi, along with Jason’s wife, Ashley Wahler, have both expressed their desire to be on Real Housewives. I think Heidi would be a fantastic addition to any reality show, but I don’t think Ashley could hold a candle to the women of Orange County.
Plus, I have faith that Speidi will always find their way to the spotlight. It’s in their DNA to showcase the insane universe they inhabit. For everyone else, it’s like, the rest is still unwritten! (Don’t worry, that bang you just heard was me slamming the door on myself).

Lala Kent dumped her fiancé, Randall Emmett, after he allegedly cheated on her in Nashville. The couple shares one daughter, Ocean Emmett. Lala slammed her ex on her podcast, Give Them Lala, as “disgusting and dirty and dark.”
She also claimed that Randall was a serial cheater. “This has been going on for quite some time. It’s been kind of repeated behavior that I have found out about,” Lala stated. According to Lala, Randall even proposed with a ring that was “fake” and originally had a “s–t brown” diamond. Yikes!
Meanwhile, Lala’s sometimes bestie and former hook up, James Kennedy, finally popped the question to his longtime girlfriend, Raquel Leviss. James’s proposal was featured on an episode of Pump Rules, and went off without a hitch thanks to the planning, and checkbook, of Tom Sandoval.
In December 2021, Raquel announced that she and James had split up. at the VPR reunion. Raquel moved out of the apartment that she shared with James shortly after breaking the news. So, why did the couple call it quits? Raquel explained to Scheana Shay during her January 7, 2022 Scheananigans with Scheana Shay podcast that James and her family “were not meshing well.”
Raquel stated, “So I just told him that my heart isn’t in it anymore. I don’t appreciate the way that you treat other people; it’s not how I treat other people,” she added. James does have some anger issues to address.
During a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live, both Lala and James fielded questions from host Andy Cohen. Andy stated that the number one burning question from fans was, “Would Lala and James be open to dating each other now that they’re both single?” After all, the couple briefly hooked up on Season 4 of VPR.
“I mean, I don’t think James Kennedy is ready to be a stepdad. So much has changed since we got together. But he’s one of my best friends,” Lala replied. “I don’t know, James. What do you think?”
James’ answer was a bit of a shock. “Honestly, we’ve done so much growing up and stuff. I mean, I’d love to just continue this beautiful friendship that we do have,” the DJ commented. “Look, I never say ‘never’ to anything nowadays.” Say what now?
Lala, who seemed reluctant, suddenly was open to the idea. “That’s a good answer. That’s a great answer,” she responded. Is it, though?
After hearing about the “interesting” comments that James made about possibly dating Lala, US Weekly reported that Raquel told photographers, “I mean, good luck to them.” Raquel said that she was “hanging in there” after she ended her engagement to James. “I’m just surrounding myself with friends and loved ones. I would say Scheana [Shay]‘s been there the most for me,” Raquel remarked. “She offered up her apartment for me to live in temporarily while she’s down in San Diego.”
I hope that Raquel finds love and someone who will appreciate her and allow her to shine. James is too controlling to share the spotlight.

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City are always full of surprises, but this one is shocking for all the wrong reasons. The newest cast member, Jennie Nguyen, faces major backlash after a series of Facebook posts from 2020 resurfaced this week. As Page Six reported, Jennie shared a series of anti-Black memes with phrases like “White Lives Matter” and calling Black Lives Matter protestors “BLM Thugs.” Now, Jennie is speaking out about the controversial posts, and fans are calling for her snowflake to be revoked.
Political differences are understandable among the Housewives, but these Facebook posts that resurfaced are extreme. For example, in one screenshot allegedly from Jennie’s account, a meme showed two cartoon characters looking at stick figure bumper stickers on the back of a car. The caption read, “No, that’s not my family, that’s how many rioters I’ve hit!”
A few days later, Jennie apparently reshared a post that said, “I’m sick of people saying cops need more training. You had 18 years to teach your kids it’s wrong to loot, steal, set buildings ablaze, block traffic, laser people’s eyes, overturn cars, destroy buildings and attack citizens. Who failed who?”
The screenshots from her Facebook go on and on. One post she shared said, “Hundreds of blacks shot and many killed (including children) by other blacks every week. Over a thousand Officers violently injured, some permanently, by rioters. Anarchists rioting in major cities every night, which has caused billions of dollars of destruction to private and public property. And you still think Police Officers are the problem. You are an idiot.”
Hours after these Facebook posts resurfaced and as “Jennie” became a trending topic on Twitter, the RHOSLC newbie shared an Instagram apology with a caption that said, “#hateisavirus.” She wrote, “I want to acknowledge and apologize for my deleted Facebook posts from 2020 that resurfaced today. At the time, I thought I was speaking out against violence, but I have since learned how offensive and hurtful my words were. It’s why I deactivated that account more than a year ago and why I continue to try to learn about perspectives different from my own. I regret those posts and am sincerely sorry for the pain they caused.”
It’s impossible not to point out the ironic timing of this controversy. These Facebook posts resurfaced just a couple of weeks after Jennie’s on-screen interaction with Mary Cosby, where she addressed problematic comments Mary made about “slanted eyes.” It opened the door for a conversation about microaggressions, and Jennie seemed ready to handle it ahead of the season 2 reunion taping. She wrote on Instagram two weeks ago, saying, “People need to be accountable for the things they say. I can’t wait for the reunion!!!”
Bravo hasn’t made an official statement about Jennie, but fans are watching closely to see how they handle it. They have fired other Bravolebrities for this kind of behavior, but the posts predate her time on Housewives. The season 2 reunion has already been filmed, so she can’t address it there. However, season 3 is gearing up for production! Perhaps this will play out on screen?
