‘Friends Of’ Who Should Be Bumped Up to Full-Blown Real Housewives

Sometimes, it’s not the Real Housewives who steal the spotlight, but the ‘friends of’ the cast. Usually, the main cast members create the drama, but some part-time players really stir the pot.

Sometimes these ‘friends of’ the housewives were demoted to the position. While others were new to the show. Let’s chat about the superstar ‘friends of’ the cast who deserve to be full-blown Real Housewives.

Jackie Goldschneider – Real Housewives of New Jersey

Jackie Goldschneider was a full-time cast member on the Real Housewives of New Jersey for four seasons. But for Season 13, Jackie was demoted to a ‘friend of.’ She was in recovery from her eating disorder, which she was open about on the show.

While Season 14 is filming, Jackie has been involved in a major friend switch-up. She is on the outs with her longtime friend, Margaret Josephs. It was always Jackie, Margaret, and Melissa Gorga against Teresa Giudice and her crew.

But after having a falling out with Margaret, Jackie joined Team Teresa. And now her relationship with Melissa is suffering.

Bravo may have been worried about the level of drama on Season 14 of RHONJ, but Jackie is working on it. Let’s give her back her full-time status, please.

Adriana de Moura – Real Housewives of Miami

When the Real Housewives of Miami first aired in 2011, Adriana de Moura was a full-time cast member. The show aired for three seasons before being shelved.

But the series was resurrected after eight years and aired on Peacock. Adriana returned as a ‘friend of’ for Seasons 4 and 5. And she drove much of the drama for both seasons. Adriana argued with Larsa Pippen and shaded her for looking like Kim Kardashian during Season 4. The two ladies argued all season.

For Season 5, Adriana told Marysol Patton that her ex-boyfriend confessed that he had never really loved Marysol. Of course, Marysol was hurt and angry. But when Adriana made an ill-conceived analogy about Alexia Nepola‘s (formerly Alexia Echevarria’s) son, all hell broke loose. What is it with Real Housewives and analogies? Steer clear, ladies!

Anyway, Audriana compared injuring her foot to Alexia’s son, Frankie Rosello’s, near-fatal car accident. According to Page Six, Frankie suffered permanent brain trauma.

“Now when I look back at that time, I see that it was wrong to use the analogy,” Adriana explained. “Obviously, the accident didn’t compare to Frankie’s—obviously—and I wasn’t trying to compare.”

Alexia’s rage felt like it was boiling off the TV screen. Adriana apologized to both Marysol and Adriana, but those wounds were deep. Give Adriana a mojito for Season 7. She deserves to be bumped up to housewife status.

Kiki Barth – Real Housewives of Miami

Kiki Barth joined RHOM during Season 4 as a ‘friend of’ the ladies. Kiki has a breezy and fun attitude. During an argument at Adriana’s video shoot, Kiki pulled out a Burger King bag and started chowing down. She warned Adriana she was finished filming because of her bloated stomach.

During an early dinner at a strip club, a tipsy and bored Kiki gets on the pole to entertain co-stars Lisa Hochstein and Larsa. She was finally asked to step away from the pole. Kiki’s hilarious hijinks should have earned her a mojito after her first season. Fingers crossed Kiki has one for Season 7 of RHOM. I think the cast has room for both Kiki and Adriana.

Mary Cosby – Real Housewives of Salt Lake City

Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Mary Cosby was a housewife for the first two seasons. During the second season, she made racially insensitive comments about co-stars Jennie Nguyen and Jen Shah.

There were also rumors that Mary had changed the Faith Temple Pentecostal Church into something like a cult. Mary refuted those claims to Entertainment Tonight. “Clearly, I’m not gonna get on national television, be a Housewife, and be in a cult. Like, come on,” Mary said. “There’s no cult.”

But when she bailed on attending the Season 2 reunion, Mary was fired from the show. Now she is back for Season 4 as a ‘friend of.’ Does Mary make inappropriate comments? Yes. And she certainly needs to do better.

But Mary is funny

From another viewpoint, she is comedy gold. Mary has little interest in spending time with her RHOSLC co-stars. She would rather sit in a van and eat a McDonald’s fish sandwich than have dinner with her castmates.

And while so far no one smells like a hospital, Mary’s nose is still as sensitive. And Mary is offended by any gaseous odors. She told Heather Gay why her necklace choice was awful. And when a food worker didn’t want to put Mary’s food in a box, she called him “lazy.” She even asked Lisa Barlow if she had a “mute button.”

Mary has no tolerance for anyone but Meredith Marks. Still, her random comments are part of the fabric of the show. It’s time to let Mary lovingly cradle her snowflake again.

It’s obvious that these ladies should be bumped up to Real Housewives status. Bravo, are you listening?

How Sister Wives’ Kody Brown Became the Perfect Anti-Hero

Kody Brown has never been the hero of his Sister Wives story. As the main villain in the Brown saga, the father of 18 lacks the conventional qualities of a heroic leader. No one would ever mistake the TLC star for a Greek hero as Kody’s attributes do not include courage, morality, or idealism. Instead, he more frequently partakes in angry outbursts, the blame game, and crying, which are traits that are more up Kody’s ally.

There is no doubt that Kody is an anti-hero, and it looks like he wouldn’t have it any other way. In a recent Sister Wives episode, Kody couldn’t help but once again play the victim. Viewers first welcomed the TLC series. It gave a behind-the-scenes look at a religion most of us knew nothing about. Kody often boasted about being a proud husband of four and seemed to really enjoy being a father. However, the drama has ramped up in recent seasons, and more often than not, it feels like a total act.

Kody recently shared his thoughts about all the ongoing drama with Us Weekly, including how the audience has clearly chosen sides. Evidently, Kody has figured out how to compartmentalize it all. “It affects me differently than it affects the viewer,” he revealed, “because I’ve got somebody trashing my reputation and I’m going, ‘Holy cow. I can’t believe that’s happening.’ And the public’s just going, ‘Oh, we always thought this about you.’ … There’s no getting used to that level of criticism.” But viewers find it hard to believe that Kody isn’t putting on a facade.

Kody Is Dramatic

Kody is a real piece of work and dramatic as hell. Viewers watched him cry and whine all while making sure his fourth and favorite wife, Robyn Brown, didn’t get the blame for her part in the family chaos. The father of 18 takes everything said by his children and ex-spouses so seriously that it can be overwhelming at times.

But his martyr act isn’t fooling anyone. Kody upped the ante once more, explaining that “Robyn and I are experiencing a death—the death of our family and this big family picture.” God, he feels so scummy!

Kody tried very hard to push the narrative that he and Robyn were the ones wronged. “We have different emotions at different times,” he noted. “And I’ll be really honest, that has been hard on our relationship…Divorce changes you. So, there’s a lot going on with me that Robyn has to use a lot of grace and forgiveness for, because I’m not myself. It’s an experience that I did not expect in my life and it has shocked me how it’s played out.”

Kody Backtracks on Love

It seems odd that Kody, who once claimed he wanted to make his relationship with Christine Brown work, is now revealing he never really loved her. Kody often put Christine down, including mocking her weight and how she grossly devoured nachos in his car. But now the polygamist is changing his tune. “I never felt like I had the right to say, ‘Hey, listen, I don’t love this woman. I want a divorce,’” Kody claimed. “I never felt like that was in my wheelhouse, but it was in theirs.”

Only recently has Kody started talking about not feeling like he could express his true feelings. The statements have surprised fans since Kody never seemed to have an issue before, especially when it came to yelling at a wife or storming out mid-fight.

As Taylor Swift sings, “I have this thing where I get older but just never wiser,” which seems to perfectly sum up who Kody is in a nutshell. Kody just isn’t above doing whatever he can to make himself not be the bad guy in his own story. Sadly, all his efforts are in vain, and his story ends with being hated by viewers and his family. Who knows, Robyn could finally get fed up and leave Kody too, giving the patriarch nothing to hope for.

Southern Charm Season 9, Episode 9 Recap: Strange Bedfellows

The newest episode of Southern Charm highlights Olivia Flowers’ healing journey, which sadly has to include her coming to grips with the fact that her best friend, Taylor Ann Green, hooked up with Austen Kroll. Again, I ask, who in their right mind thinks Austen is a prize? But I digress. Shep Rose’s weekend of debauchery is well underway, which includes a nice afternoon of fishing. However, Olivia and Taylor decided to crash the mountain retreat with tensions running high after a ping pong game went wrong. Here’s everything that went down in Southern Charm Season 9, Episode 9: “Strange Bedfellows.”

Best friends or frenemies?

Naturally, both Olivia and Taylor are extremely uncomfortable with the idea of meeting up, but they are both brave and plunged into the cold, murky waters of their questionable friendship. Lake James, NC, seems pristine, even tranquil, but Taylor is still fighting her flirty demons as she skirts around the reasons why Olivia is mad at her with her parents. She shares with her parents that she “just hopes we can fix this divide in our friendship and move forward.” But we doubt Olivia will be so forgiving.

Robin, Olivia’s mother, also seems to have some wise words for her daughter, sharing she has every right to be upset with the situation. After sharing that she was hesitant to go up to the lake house, noting she finds herself “angry and really, really mad,” revealing she doesn’t have “the emotional capacity to function.” We don’t blame you, Olivia. The charmer notes, “Part of me thinks that going to the lake might be good for us. Maybe I’ll get some answers on what the hell I’m supposed to do with this friendship.” Famous last words. At some point, Olivia is going to have to see Taylor for who she is – not a girl’s girl. At least not right now, and move on from this toxic friendship.

The hearty party boys

The guys, on the other hand, are recovering from their epic night and bra-gate conversation out at the Linville estate. I now know exactly why Shep Rose is single, and let me tell you, it is definitely because he drinks milk out of the container whilst in his 1990s boxers burping; he is a real charmer. JT Thomas is trying his best to put a spin on the prior evening, noting it was a night filled with lively chat and cocktails. Indeed, the conversation was flowing, joking about the elephant in the room and “male fellowship.”

Even though JT may have caused a disturbance in the force by trying to call out Austen, all is forgiven, and the men forge on. Rod Razavi has not woken up on the right side of the bed, sharing he feels like he has been slapped in the face after hearing Austen throw Olivia under the bust again. It seems bra-gate is not very supportive when it comes to Rod’s feelings. Thank God for JT noting he doesn’t believe a word that Austen says, settling Rod down a bit just in time for bacon and eggs.

Ping pong chaos

JT delivers the comic relief this week as the boys try their hand at fly fishing. The creek gets the best of the guys, especially JT, who falls down and gets the rapids right up “in his hindside,” aka his butthole. Nothing some whiskey/wine tasting can’t cure. Bless JT for still having to wear his waders – he’s our mini Grizzly Adams.

Panning back to Olivia and Taylor, fans could see that the conversation did not go well. Taylor does offer an apology for lying about kissing the Trop Hop owner, and pinky promises Olivia she and Austen didn’t have sex, noting it “would be easier” if they did. Uh, what? Olivia accepts the apology but still stands by her belief that there was a hookup. The conversation came to an end with Olivia revealing she wasn’t sure if the friendship could be salvaged, adding she doesn’t feel comfortable staying at the God-fearing lake house.

The last night at the guy’s cabin is so boring that production has the cast put on tin foil hats and listen to Craig Conover and his wild conspiracy theories. I pray he is joking, but I’m not actually sure. The night comes to a close with Shep losing a game of ping pong to JT and his fragile ego cracking. Shep is tormenting everyone, with Taylor snapping back, asking, “Did you enjoy cheating on me?” To which Shep responds, “I mean, sometimes it was fun.” Lord, Jesus, take the wheel from these sinners!

Lindsay Hubbard Claims Carl Radke Texted Her to ‘Clear up His Public Image’ After Split

Having her say. Lindsay Hubbard made a triumphant return to public life at BravoCon 2023 in Las Vegas, Nevada last weekend. She looked amazing, vivacious, and confident. And little did anyone know that she was recording a podcast later that week to spill some tea on her ex-fiancé Carl Radke.

Indeed, public sympathy has very much been on her side after Carl ended their engagement in August. And if Lindsay is to be believed, there is more reason for sympathy for how she was treated by the former Loverboy VP post-split.

Carl never asked if Lindsay was “OK”

According to statements that Lindsay made on the Viall Files this past Wednesday, she chose not to respond to any attempts at communication from Carl in the weeks after he ended the relationship. Why? Because the Summer House star was only showing concern for his reputation, and felt insincere to the professional publicist.

“Anything he was texting was simply to clear up his public image rather than, ‘Are you OK?'” she told the podcast host, Nick Viall.

“I was just disgusted and appalled,” Lindsay revealed.

The first that Lindsay heard of Carl’s “impulsive, emotional decision” happened on camera. Carl had set up a session with producers after production for Summer House Season 8 officially wrapped.

Lindsay explained that neither she nor any fellow castmates had any idea that he had a change of heart. At the very least, no one had spoken to her about it. She believes even Carl’s bestie Kyle Cooke was just as surprised as she was.

“He didn’t give me any indication. He didn’t say anything that alluded to cold feet, second thoughts … Nothing. He said nothing to me over the summer. He said nothing that would have given me any clues,” she revealed.

For his part, Carl revealed that he moved out of their shared apartment. He also feels that Summer House footage from the new season will vindicate him somewhat.

Summer House is expected to return to Bravo in early 2024.

Sanya Richards-Ross on Possible RHOA Reboot: ‘I Would Love to Continue’

Most people agree (even the execs at Bravo) that Real Housewives of Atlanta has been stumbling for some time. Even the cast is aware that Season 15 didn’t net the viewership that they might’ve hoped.

Ever since Season 15’s lower ratings became public, many fans have speculated on and pushed for a full RHOA cast reboot, ala Real Housewives of New York. Of course, that wouldn’t serve the current Atlanta cast all too well.

A full reboot would be especially unfortunate for Sanya Richards-Ross, who only joined the show in Season 14. But any potential fear of a reboot hasn’t stopped Sanya from voicing her thoughts on the matter.

Sanya spoke with TheWrap at BravoCon 2023 about the potential for a reboot. “Listen, I’ve heard the fans as well, right?” she shared. “But I think the biggest complaint the fans have had is the nostalgia of having women who have really good friendships. And so unless they’re going to find a whole new friend group, I think that takes some time.”

She continued. “I think with Drew [Sidora] and I being new to the cast, it took two years where I finally developed a real friendship with the ladies, and I think we can build a great show.” She added her desire to finish her pregnancy journey: “I would love to see the happy ending of the story because … [it’s] a really beautiful story that a lot of people across the world can relate to.”

However, Sanya added that she knew she was at the mercy of Bravo. “I would love to continue filming and being a part of the community. I love the Bravo universe. It’s wonderful. But the experts gotta do their job, they gotta cast who they think is best. Whatever happens, I’m always going to love the show and support the show.”

Lisa Vanderpump and Ken Todd Legal Troubles: Accused of Refusing To Pay $490K Settlement

Not everything is sunshine and lollipops for Lisa Vanderpump. Her long-running spinoff, Vanderpump Rules, might be killing it in terms of ratings and public discourse. Unfortunately for her, the money the show brings in now has to be paid out.

In August 2020, a former PUMP employee sued Lisa, her husband, Ken Todd, and Pump LLC for failure to pay overtime wages. Moreover, the lawsuit included in its accusations a failure to provide meal periods, failure to pay wages at termination, and violation of labor codes, among others.

Now, three years later, The U.S. Sun has come out with an update to the case. The Sun obtained court documents claiming that the defendants had not yet paid any agreed-upon settlement money in the class action lawsuit. See the details below.

Do Lisa and Ken feel they’re “above the law?”

According to the court documents, the plaintiff, Ernest R. Bennick, acted for himself and other employees in his situation. In August 2023, Bennick filed a motion for a preliminary approval of the settlement amount – $490,000. The gross included over $171,000 in reasonable attorney fees and a $7.5k service award for Bennick’s “extensive efforts in prosecuting this case.”

On October 23, Lisa’s attorneys filed a response to the settlement agreement: “The Company does not intend to perform the terms of the mediated settlement agreement, but would be willing to discuss alternatives with Plaintiff’s counsel.”

Lisa’s attorney also brought up PUMP’s closure, spurred on by “on-going back rent and future rent issues with the restaurant’s landlord, coupled with the Covid-19 closure period and an overall downturn in business.” As such, the company had no assets remaining, on top of negotiating previously owed rent payments with other renters.

The plaintiff responded on October 30, slamming the claims of no remaining assets. “Defendants omit the fact that the restaurant re-opened in or around August 2023, at a new location,” Bennick’s team alleged. Bennick also accused Ken of feeling “Above the law.” As of now, Lisa, Ken, and Pump LLC have signed an enforceable Settlement Agreement.

Vanderpump Rules returns to Bravo in January 2024.

Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky Don’t Have Divorce Lawyers ‘Yet’

Despite the rumors and pictures floating around of Kyle Richards and Morgan Wade, and Mauricio Umansky and Emma Slater, that’s not enough for either of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills stars to get a divorce lawyer.

For context, the Bravosphere has been a fu*king mess since news of Kyle and Mo’s ~~divorce~~ separation hit the streets. It came out of nowhere — just like a few of the other Bravo splits this year — and RHOBH fans are desperate for this couple of 26 years to make it work.

Kyle and Mo have shared a few details about the conflict in their marriage. Mainly citing a difficult year. But why exactly? We still don’t know. However, we’re hoping the ladies (Sutton Stracke) will get to the bottom of it during this year’s RHOBH. On the other hand, we do know that neither Kyle nor Mo has called divorce lawyers amid this mess.

Trouble in Beverly Hills …

Kyle and Mauricio have tried their hardest to keep this story under wraps for the sake of their family. Sources close to the couple shared with Us Weekly they aren’t rushing to sign divorce papers if it’ll cause more chaos in their home.

“Kyle and Mauricio have not hired attorneys, nor have either of them filed yet,” the source revealed. “While they are separated, they want to keep their lives as normal as possible for the kids.”

From the sounds of it, their split hasn’t been nearly as dramatic as Kyle’s Real Housewives sister Kim Zolciak. The source shared the pair have no hard feelings or ill wishes toward the other.

“When and if they do decide to file, neither of them will be bitter or coming after the other,” they said. “Neither of them wants a long and vengeful divorce.”

While at BravoCon, Kyle slipped and used the word “divorce” when speaking about her current state with Mo. It gained attention, but before it could get out of control, Kyle addressed it on Watch What Happens Live.

“I misspoke on the red carpet today,” she began. “Two times, I had to correct someone when they said ‘divorce.’ I said, ‘separated.’ And then I went and said it, and then it went everywhere. So, that was my bad.”

The Halloween star said she and Mo are “still amicable” and noted their marriage is “a success” despite the chaos surrounding their union.

Kyle Richards Reveals Holiday Season Plans Amid Split From Mauricio Umansky

The Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky drama has been an unexpected rollercoaster as of late. For a rift that started surprisingly mellow, recent rumors have blown things out of proportion for the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills stars.

Mauricio’s closeness with his Dancing with the Stars partner, Emma Slater, was a shock to many, including Kyle. It hurt her feelings to see them buddying up to each other with so much ease.

Kyle expressed her pain on multiple occasions, most recently at BravoCon 2023. She even used the word “divorce,” a term neither she nor Mo had used prior. So, that left the question of what the future held for the couple, even the near future.

When E! News asked Kyle if she and Mauricio would be spending the holidays together, she said, “That’s the million-dollar question,” but then confirmed, “Yes, we’ll probably all be together in Aspen. And we did our summer trip together, we were fine.” Fans no doubt recall the vacation earlier this year where Kyle and Mauricio joined their children in Italy.

But despite all the rumors and struggles, Kyle made her priorities clear. She continued, “You know what, when you really do love someone that much, you don’t just, it doesn’t just go away no matter what the circumstances are. And we’re putting our love for each other in front of all the other issues and putting our family first.”

When asked if she was sad to see Mauricio’s elimination from DWTS, she admitted, “I actually really was because I don’t think they deserved to be voted off. I didn’t think that was a fair call at all, and you know he was doing a really good job and he was really excited about it, so I was bummed out for him.” A surprising measure of maturity on Kyle’s part.

Brynn Whitfield Will Slide Into ‘Cutie Patootie’ Captain Jason Chambers’ DMs After BravoCon

Brynn Whitfield of the Real Housewives of New York was excited to be part of her first official BravoCon. And while it doesn’t look like she made a love connection there, Below Deck: Down Under star Captain Jason Chambers may be hearing from her soon.

“He’s a cutie patootie, so I’ll slide into his DMs,” Brynn told US Weekly hours after the two reality stars crossed paths. The hilarious housewife added, “I’m going to be like, ‘I can’t swim. Help me.’ Men love a damsel in distress.”

It was Andy Cohen who planted a potential romantic seed between Jason and Brynn when he introduced the captain to the Real Housewives franchise’s most eligible bachelorettes, including Brynn.

However, the fans are skeptical as Captain Jason seems to spend more time with cast members from another reality TV franchise, Vanderpump Rules. He was spotted snapping pictures with Lala Kent and again at an event with Scheana Shay and Brock Davies.

But Brynn’s not sweating it. She has another potential love match up her sleeve and shared that she thought Southern Charm‘s Shep Rose was “cute.” The two finally crossed paths at BravoCon.

“I love Shep. He’s really cool. He’s funny. And Andy was telling me he’s a massive — he’s a book fanatic as well,” Brynn shared. “We’re going to get a drink. Just friends.”

While some fans may have hoped for something to transpire between the two, Brynn made it clear they are just friends, at least for now.

“I love all those guys. You just wanna hang out with them,” she gushed about the Southern Charm men. “I don’t know if it’s good to date any of them, but you want to hang out and get a drink and have them be like, your guy. I have a lot of hot guy friends — platonic — and I think they are really cool.”

So maybe playfully cool isn’t her style right now. Even Andy admitted that while Brynn may have had “her eye on Shep” throughout the weekend, it didn’t look like anything would happen.

Brynn first admitted to a “crush” on Shep during Watch What Happens Live. She even doubled down over several other appearances on the show, saying she wouldn’t date Austen Kroll because she was committed to Shep and revealing that Shep had slid into her DMs.

For his part, Shep shared that he was excited to meet her to laugh about it and hang out but didn’t think he would do anything about it unless she insisted.

RHOC’s Kara Keough Gives Birth to Fourth Child Three Years After Son McCoy’s Tragic Death

Kara Keough welcomed a beautiful baby girl on November 1. The Real Housewives of Orange County OG star and her husband, Kyle Bosworth, got their rainbow baby after suffering the tragic loss of their son McCoy in April 2020 due to complications at birth.

When she announced her fourth pregnancy earlier this year, Kara expressed her fears and concerns for a healthy and safe birth. Also, her joys for welcoming a new child into the family. Last Wednesday, she safely delivered a daughter that the couple named Stetson Lou Bosworth.

“She came screaming into our hearts and hasn’t stopped squawking since — earning @kyleboz’s best nickname yet: ‘Squeaks,’” Kara wrote in a heartwarming Instagram post to mark the birth.

Stetson joins two siblings, big brother Vaughn, 2, and 7-year-old sister Decker. Kara included pictures of them holding their little sister in her Instagram post.

“So many people prayed fiercely over this birth and we are seeping with gratitude that we got exactly what we prayed for: to bring our baby home,” she continued. “If you need me, I’ll be thanking God and pinching myself savoring the magic of Stetson Lou Bosworth.”

Stetson weighed in at 8lbs 5oz and was born with a full head of hair. Kara called the newborn her “heaven-sent squish.”

During her pregnancy, Kara struggled to “celebrate every second” in the wake of the traumatic loss of McCoy. She posted about a ‘cautious reluctance to let the excitement fully absorb.”

“But I can’t deny that it feels right that those that have sat with us on our grieving bench should have a seat in our joyous swings too,” she concluded the post announcing her pregnancy.

Kara’s mother and former RHOC star Jeana Keough also took to Instagram to announce the birth of her granddaughter and praise a “beautiful daughter and family.”
