Love After Lockup Recap: Meet Your New Papa

It turns out that next Friday is the season finale of Love After Lockup, so we have one more week of this wretched awesomeness in our lives. After that, we’ll be forced to mope around until 90 Day Fiancé (all four versions of which have been renewed!!!) comes back to fill our snarky little hearts with K1 Visa love. And even though this debut season of LAL was a mere 7 episodes, it served up enough drama to last us an entire aggravated assault prison sentence (which is approximately 6-18 years, according to our fair felons).

This week, Andrea takes the Crazy Bananas Crown back as she berates her children for questioning her relationship with a convicted felon, who she drags them halfway across the country to meet, then forces/bribes them to call “papa.” Thus, it’s official: Andrea is a garbage person. Side note: All three of Andrea’s children are approximately 4 trillion times more mature, eloquent, and intelligent than their mother.The friends and relatives of the rest of the crew try to warn them about their equally doomed relationships, to absolutely no avail. Because that is mission f**king impossible with this crew. And just when we thought Scott was the most tragic figure of all, Alla steps in this week to bring the seriously sad story of relapse. Even perma-crazy eyed James figures out that all is not well in Alla-Land, which is saying something. Sigh. This show needs a hero! Or Dr. Phil. Until then, we’ll just recap the stankfest.

Johnna & Garrett

Since Garrett’s proposal, Johnna has been doing some thinking. This concept is a new one for her. She meets her father at the park to sip coffee, tell him about her engagement, and get royally chewed out by Dad. In that exact order. And it is glorious.

After Johnna tells her dad she plans to marry Garrett soon, he grabs her by the shoulders and literally tries to shake sense into this woman-child. “She just wants everything NOW!” he complains to the cameras before we cut back to him smashing his coffee cup on the sidewalk in frustration. “I’m DONE with this sh*t!” he screams, voicing every single viewer’s exact sentiments in one fell swoop.

When they go cake tasting later, it dawns on Garrett that Johnna is actually planning a wedding. Like, a real one! With 150 real guests eating mini cupcakes in the local Best Western conference center as the happy couple does the Dollar Dance for honeymoon funds. It’s all too much for fresh-outta-prison Garrett to process. It’s at this moment that Johnna realizes whining about an engagement ring was maybe-sorta-kinda not the brightest move. (Nor was that fuzzy pink steering wheel, but let’s leave that for another day…)

Like the psycho she FULLY admits to being, Johnna later drives to Garrett’s work to interrupt his napkin folding, demanding answers. On the beach, Johnna grills him, “Why did you ask me to marry you?!?!?” This question comes from a woman who literally threatened Garrett everyday that she’d leave him if he didn’t propose. Garrett’s like, “Um, cuz I love you…know what I’m sayin?”

The confusion on his face barely has time to register in Johnna’s crosshairs before she whines about not wanting a ring “just because she pressured him into it!” B-b-but…that’s exactly what happened, Looneytunes. Roll that tape back, girl. You CRAY.

Alla & James

Oh, man you guys. This is just a sad story – and if I may preach my own bias for a moment, is also a clear lesson in why prisons aren’t the answer to fixing addiction. Because, yes, Alla is clearly still addicted to heroin, as highlighted in her on-camera relapse this week.

Before finding Alla in a puddle of sickness and fear on her bathroom floor, James stops by his friend Chris’s house. Chris tells James plainly, “Your girl is SICK.” But James continues to be in denial about the reality of the situation, brushing questions about Alla’s drug use off as Chris just being a “hater.” Since he has zero chance of getting through to this dolt, Chris just shrugs, giving James a look we’d all like to give him in this moment.

After James returns home, reality hits him right between the eyes when he finds Alla in crisis in the bathroom. He’s never seen addiction up close, but now FINALLY realizes that he’s dealing with someone who has not kicked her habit. As James begs Alla for answers, he finally asks if he should just call an ambulance?

Cameras cut off, so we’ll see where this nightmare takes them next week. For Alla, it’s obviously back to prison. But for James? Who knows. All I know is that trolling those prison websites for life partners again may not be the best move. But he may want to try blinking every once in a while.

Lizzie & Scott 

Speaking of depression and denial, let’s check in with our boy, Scott! Since finding out that Lizzie will be facing another 12 years for possession of heroin, meth, and contraband cell phones, Scott has taken his pain out on the yard. Because he has no other outlet, he shall trim branches!

When Scott’s beautiful, wise friend stops by to talk him off the pruning ledge, Scott just maintains his total denial. He thinks Lizzie will change! He loooooooves her! She’s THE ONE! Despite knowing that the $20K he sent her over the years likely funded her drug habit (and the reason she’s facing additional time), Scott is standing by his woman. Scott’s friend just looks at him as one might look at a dog chasing its own tail for 30 minutes: Amused at first, then annoyed, then just plain bored with the absurdity of it all. She finally snarks, “Why don’t you just send her MORE money?”

Knowing Scott, he probably will. I mean, just look at Lizzie! Who wouldn’t trust a plucky inmate who pulls her knee socks ALL the way up before recording her video on a contraband cell phone? It’s a no brainer, people.

Mary & Dominic

Our neighbors to the north, Mary and Dominic, are still pretending to be an engaged couple (if you want to have some real fun, start deep diving theories that they were actually already married before the show started – the truth is out there!!) Mary thinks she’s “so cute!” trying on wedding gowns that resemble Scheana Marie’s crop top situation two seasons ago on Pump Rules. No matter! Because Mary won’t be walking down the aisle in it anytime soon – at least not in public.

When the clearly shell-shocked Dominic comes over to Mary’s apartment later to talk to her about their future, he finally submits to her demands that they get married SOON. Only one condition: It has to be quick and cheap, kind of like the way Mary’s eyebrows were Sharpied on that morning.

Mary celebrates this small victory by taking Dom behind a clouded glass door and allowing him to remove her top. Who says romance is dead? Pah! Also: Thank you to whomever installed that opaque glass in Mary’s apartment. We can now live another day without having to unsee something which can really never be unseen. #HandMeTheEyeBleach

Andrea & Lamar

Well, I’ve saved the best for last – and by “best,” I mean most hideously foul. Since Lamar is stuck in LA County per his probationary terms, Andrea decides to haul her family back there to see them. As any sane mother of three engaged to an 18-year inmate would! Lamar finally breaks the news to Andrea as she delusionally tries on wedding gowns, forcing her eldest daughter, Nyla, to look on in horror at the grown ass woman about to ruin all of their lives.

Over dinner in Utah, Andrea tells the kids they’ll be packing up in the middle of the night to make the 9-hour trek to LA. She also spills the beans about her youngest daughter, Priscilla, calling Lamar “papa” – something she’s apparently been doing since birth. Um. No, ma’am. Nopety nope nope. Mom to Mom, Andrea: SLOW YOUR ROLL WITH THE PAPA SH*T. I am getting serious whiffs of Nicole from 90 Day Fiance on this one, except in Andrea’s case, she’s also trying to make her older kids fall in line with the “new daddy” stuff too. It’s just grotesque and awful.

Side note (again): Will it ever be addressed that Priscilla is 5-years old, but Andrea claims she’s been “dating” Lamar for 6 years? WHAT IS GOING ON?!?

Thankfully, Nyla and her brother Tennison are smart enough to know what a sh*tshow this is. Their embarrassment over their mom’s idiocy is palpable, especially after they arrive in LA and Lamar immediately tries to ingratiate himself to them. Now, I must give props to Lamar for not laying it on too thick – he’s just trying to navigate a terrible situation.

But THUMBS WAAAAAAY DOWN to Andrea, who is not below BRIBING Nyla with cold, hard cash to get out of the car and meet her new “daddy.” There are not enough ughs in the world for this nightmare. Andrea needs to be voted off the island immediately, and her children can be raised by the Mormon community back home. Or by wolves. Whichever is safer. (Crafting parties notwithstanding.)

Next week, each of the couples wrap up their epic death-spiral love story in a mere one hour. How WeTV will make this happen is the biggest question of all. I mean, can you really stick a fork in any of these messy pies and say they’re done? WE NEED MORE! <sob> At least we have each other. Celebrity Big Brother Spoilers: Eviction Nominations – Week 3

Omarosa is now in power in the Celebrity Big Brother house. We’re in for some entertaining HOH-itis. The minute Omarosa won, the Celebrity Big Brother players felt the heat and fear. You never know what to expect with her, especially on Big Brother: Celebrity Edition.

Omarosa executes her first HOH duty today: nominations. Ross Mathews and Marissa Jaret Winokur are sure that they are part of her nomination plans, and one, if not both of them, will go up on the block. They speculated last night that Omarosa would nominate one player from each pair (the Ariadna Gutierrez–Brandi Glanville pair, and the Ross and Marissa one).

Normally, the Celebrity Big Brother houseguests would have felt safe because with a big target like James Maslow out there, how could they not feel safe? Well Omarosa made a deal with James during the Head of Household competition that basically guaranteed him a free week pass.

Even James thought that the deal was too good to be true. You could still see clear signs of panic in his eyes all last night. In fact, almost all the Celebrity Big Brother houseguests were worried with Omarosa in power.

So who did Omarosa target and nominate this week?

Omarosa nominated Ross Mathews and Brandi Glanville for eviction. There is a major twist with the veto, so both of them, or one of them could end up saved this week. Monday should be an interesting episode as the POV plays out live.

Celebrity Big Brother Recap: (2/16/18) Can Shannon Dodge Another Eviction?

Thanks to an emotional plea for eviction by Keshia Knight Pulliam just a few days ago, Shannon Elizabeth was able to dodge a backdoor eviction plan aimed directly at her?  Last evening, Shannon was on the block for eviction sitting next to Mark McGrath.  With one of those two Celebrity Big Brother houseguests considered to be huge threat in the game, was Shannon able to convince the house to save her from eviction, did Shannon win the Power of Veto (POV) to save herself, or did the Big Brother superfan finally get voted out by her fellow celebrity houseguests?

Head of Household (HOH), Ariadna Gutiérrez, nominated Shannon and James to the block for eviction, but she made it clear to her alliance that Shannon was her main target.  Shannon could immediately sense she was the target, and the Big Brother meltdown began.  Unlike the character Shannon has shown this far in the game, she had a complete emotional breakdown about being the Big Brother target.  She basically gave up on her game.

Before the POV competition, Omarosa decided to stir things up a bit in the Big Brother house by adding some high school drama into the mix.  She casually went to James Maslow and directly implied that Shannon was no longer the target for eviction and that their sites were set on evicting James instead.  Like high school gossip, James went to Marissa Jaret Winokur and Ross Mathews to address his concerns.  Then Ross went to Ari with the info who went to Brandi Glanville.  Round and round we go.

The group was taken back by the “story” from Omarosa to James and decided to directly confront Omarosa.  Of course Omarosa denied the accusations vehemently.  When that didn’t satisfy the group, they pulled James into the mix so that they could get to the bottom of the  Big Brother story.  James and Omarosa had different versions of the story.  JAmes became so frustrated with the situation, he left the room and told them to settle it themselves.  He has already given them his side of the story which he claimed was the truth.  If Omarosa was looking to cause some chaos in the Celebrity Big Brother house, her mission was accomplished.  All the while, Shannon was eavesdropping on the circus sideshow.

The house majority alliance of Ross, Ari, Marissa, and Brandi met with James before the POV competition and made a Big Brother deal.  With concerns of Shannon winning the POV, they told James they would guarantee his safety this eviction under one condition…they wanted his promise work with them as a final 5 group.  Once they reach the point where only the 5 are left in the game, they can fight it out between them.  James quickly made that deal.

The POV competition, Dining in the Dark, consisted of the houseguests moving through a restaurant, enjoying a 4-course meal in complete darkness.  The houseguests must navigate through each section of the restaurant for each course and turn on their light at the completion of the dessert course in the fastest time to win the POV.  Each houseguest took their turn enjoying their meal at Chez Noir in the Celebrity Big Brother house.

When all was said and done, the Big Brother houseguests finished their meals in the following times:

• Brandi  21:29
• Omarosa  19:29
• Ari  12:02
• Ross  9:46
• Shannon  8:41
• James  6:24

James won the golden POV by a hefty margin over the other houseguests with Shannon being the closest to James’ time.  With no surprise, James used the POV on himself and was removed from the block.  Ari replaced James’ spot for eviction with Mark, but his nomination was merely just a Big Brother pawn.

The live eviction began, and all of the Celebrity Big Brother houseguests voted to evict Shannon with the exception of Brandi.  Why Brandi voted to evict Mark is a mystery as of now, but this will certainly come up inside the Big Brother house soon.  The final vote tally was 5 to 1 in favor of Shannon‘s eviction.

During her exit interview with Julie Chen, Shannon felt the most betrayed by Brandi & Ari closely followed by Ross & Marissa.  She shared with Julie that she was the most surprised with the boredom inside the Big Brother house.  She also noted that during the last few days inside the house, most of her fellow housegeusts would stop talking when she entered the room solidifying her feelings that she would be the next eviction.

The episode ended with the beginning of the next HOH competition called Courtside Seats.  This is an endurance comp where the Big Brother houseguests must hang onto a wall while it moves in attempts to make them fall.  In this case, they are seated in a chair with little to hold onto.  Who will be the next Celebrity Big Brother HOH?  We will find out soon.

Celebrity Big Brother Spoilers: Live Feeds Day 17 Highlights- The House Scrambles with Omarosa in Power

To prepare for the Celebrity Big Brother live eviction, the houseguests talked about their next targets. Shannon Elizabeth also made her last pleas for safety. The real Celebrity Big Brother action didn’t happen until after the live broadcast ended.

Celebrity Big Brother live feed watchers were treated to the privilege of being able to watch this week’s Head of Household competition play out live. It would be a few hours before a new HOH was crowned, but it was worth the wait to see the Celebrity Big Brother houseguests squirm once Omarosa gained power.

In true superfan fashion, Shannon refused to go out in a whimper. She used her remaining hours to campaign to her fellow housemates. Her efforts proved useless because she was still voted out the Celebrity Big Brother house by a 5 to 1. Ross Mathews, also in true superfan fashion, tried to work for that jury vote by revealing the backdoor Shannon plan, and blaming most of it on Brandi Glanville. Shannon told Julie Chen that despite Ross’s efforts, he still wasn’t getting her vote.

During the Head of Household competition, on the sidelines, the real gaming was happening. Ariadna Gutierrez revealed to Ross and Metta World Peace that Brandi  cast the vote against Mark McGrath. Brandi revealed (in secret) that she wanted to win Shannon’s jury vote by tossing her this one.

Ari was very upset at what she thought was a clear betrayal, by not sticking with the team. Once Marissa Jaret Winokur heard about the vote, she played it up a lot. Brandi even got a small lecture from the group about the vote switch.

The second biggest event from the live HOH was James Maslow and Omarosa agreeing to a deal. She promised to not nominate him, nor backdoor him if he fell off the wall. James was already struggling but he was very hesitant to take the deal. After the HOH, Marissa and Ari told Omarosa that James was slipping, so she shouldn’t have made the deal. James should be safe this week, unless the newest voting twist takes the nomination control away from Omarosa.

Many of the once comfortable houseguests, like Ross and Marissa, now found themselves worried about who Omarosa would nominate with James off the board.

Thanks to Valentine’s Day, there were a lot of reality TV stars posting on social media this week. From the couples photos, to the proud single ladies, to the mother/daughter valentines, there were a lot of sweet photos to choose from for this week’s edition of Instagram Roundup.

Southern Charm alum Landon Clements shared a Valentine’s Day photo with former Bachelor lead Ben Flajnik at a winery. Was this a date? A friend date? A reach for attention? Or something else entirely? Porsha Williams shared a photo with giant bouquet of flowers with a caption about a secret admirer.

New York City Housewife Dorinda Medley shared a photo with her long-time boyfriend John Mahdessian. Vanderpump Rules cast members James Kennedy and Raquel Leviss spent Valentine’s Day together, of course. Kim Zolciak shared two photos this week, one with husband Kroy Biermann, of course. One stood out because she wasn’t wearing any makeup and the other caught people’s attention because Kim wasn’t wearing a top.

In other news, Shannon Beador shared a photo from the first day of filming Real Housewives of Orange County Season 13. Is she with a new cast member in that photo or is that just a friend? Real Housewives of Beverly Hills stars Lisa Rinna and Dorit Kemsley showed off their bikini bodies.

Teen Mom star Briana DeJesus shared a behind-the-scenes photo from a plastic surgeon’s office. Stay tuned for those post-recovery results photos showing off her new look. Farrah Abraham enjoyed a Valentine’s Day dinner with her daughter Sophia Abraham.
