Big Brother 18 Cast Power Rankings: How Far Will They Go?

After watching and reading all the interviews with the new Big Brother 18 cast members, and digging into the backgrounds of who they were before joining the show, we couldn’t help but indulge in a little pre-season Power Rankings speculation. Even if we still don’t ‘officially’ know yet who the veterans are going to be we know will be showing up on premiere night.

Of course, what we see of the Houseguests before they the season begins is often very different than who they turn out to be once they get in the house. Still, it’s fun to just go with our initial gut feelings and first impressions and make a few wild guesses about how far each of the new Houseguests may go this season.

12. Glenn Garcia

Glenn has a large percent of being an outcast in the game due to his age. He’s 50 years old in a house full of people that are in their 20’s or 30. He has no strategy going into the game and says he will need to see what the houseguest are like before he creates one. I would not be shocked if he is the first boot of the season. The reason I say this is because, I do not see him winning competitions to save himself at his age. Those younger kids will have him beat at the physical competitions.

11. Paul Abrahamian

Paul is a very interesting personality, which makes him hard to read. I think he is someone who could stir a lot of drama and go out in a fiery exit. I can’t see Paul being the strategic player of the season or some mastermind. I do think he will sneak into jury because he’s not an alpha male, who would be targeted right off the bat. Paul claims that he is very “sneaky”, but that’s not a good flaw to have in this game. If people find him sneaky, he will be out the door so fast. I do not think he will have a strong social game, but if he does, it might help him. So my prediction is an early juror member at best for Paul and no shot at winning the game.

10. Victor Arroyo

Victor is someone I am pegging as a pre-jury boot. His plan is to woo the women of the season and he’s relatively handsome enough to do so. The problem with this plan is that the girls may catch on to this and send him out the door. He’s also a gym manager, which means his physical attributes will send red alarms in the house. He talks about being in part, of two alliances and being a rat works for some, but not all. I think another problem with Victor is his ego! He is all about his looks, body and thinks he can just get girls by snapping his fingers.

9. Bridgette Dunning

Bridgette seems like a really nice girl, who would not harm a fly! But that is why she will not make it very far in this game. She said she has trouble lying and her happy-go- lucky personality may annoy some of the houseguest. I just don’t see Bridgette as someone who is made out for a game full of vivacious liars and backstabbers. I can see her being really popular with the fans as an underdog. But in the end, I think she’ll be either pre-jury or dragged to the end as a pawn who survives eviction week after week.

8. Jozea Flores 

I can’t get a good read on Jozea and that’s because he doesn’t really have a strategy. He claims that he will use his love and care to maneuver his way to the game. I guess that means socially? I think he’s a recruit and may not know much about the game. What’s going to be crucial for him is bonding with his housemates and he seemed very quiet in his interview with Jeff Schroeder. I wouldn’t be shocked if he was pre-jury, jury or someone who skates by long enough to pull out a victory.

7. Michelle Meyer

We have the brunette version of Nicole Franzel, right? Michelle’s strategy is to win as many competitions and take out threats. Well, winning every competition could make her a threat and that’s not necessarily a winning strategy. She talks about making friendly connections with everyone, but then egging people to blow up their games in the shadows. I’m going to say that she will be an early juror and possibly a high candidate to be backdoored. I say backdoored because superfans are viewed as threats. I don’t think she’ll be able to hold back being a superfan and even more so, when the vets arrive.

6. Tiffany Rousso

I think Vanessa, oops Tiffany, but wait they look and sound exactly alike right? So how is she going to get away with not telling everyone she is Vanessa’s sister? Vanessa played last season and this is going to spell trouble for Tiffany. Vanessa controlled 90 % of the season and I could see the others fearing she will be another version of her sister. But if she can get over the hurdle, I really like her game plan. She wants to build relationships, win competitions when needed, try to get players on her side and align loosely with the big threats and watch them get taken out. It’s hard to make a prediction, but I am going to go with a jury member but relatively an early one.

5. Natalie Negrotti

Natalie wants to go into the game and start an all-women’s alliance. *Crickets* While myself and other viewers would LOVE to see that… it never does. I think her pursuing an all girl’s alliance could be the end of her Big Brother game. She reminds me a lot of Victoria Rafaeli, who just let everyone else around her make moves. Natalie seems to think this game is easy and that could lead to her downfall. She claims she can manage girls, add guys to their alliance, fake everyone out and everyone will want to work with her. Big Brother is not easy no matter how you perceive it to be. She is very athletic and a former cheerleader, which will help her in the endurance competitions. I think Natalie goes very deep into the game, and goes out at like final four.

4. Zakiyah Everette

Zakiyah has been a fan of the show since season three and she says she wants to find her alternate ally like Danielle Reyes did with Jason Guy. That’s right off the book smart, but who will that ally be? My main problem with her is that she wants a showmance and that could make her a target pretty quickly. Zakiyah claims her mouth is going to hurt her, well-being self-aware is a great thing and maybe she will keep her mouth silent at the right time. I think she has the potential to make final three, or even win this game, but I definitely see her making the jury.

3. Paulie Calafiore

I think Paulie’s biggest mistake would be trying to hide that he is Cody Calafiore’s brother. He says that he has a tattoo that will expose them as brothers, so why go into the game and lie? Paulie can be a great social player, in my opinion, because Cody was and he likely advised him to play the game that way. I think Paul will overcome Cody being his brother because the veterans in the game might take some of that pressure away from him. When it’s revealed, I think people will say, well his brother took Derrick Levasseur to the end, so maybe he’s not smart. Paulie should play clueless and not try to win every competition despite being in really good shape. I am going to say final six for Paulie and possibly a chance to win the game.

2. Bronte D’Acquisto

Bronte’s voice might annoy some Houseguests, but I think she is going to go very far in this game. She seems really inspired by Derrick, who is one of the best winners ever. She is very motivated to become the female Derrick and while I can’t see her being a mastermind, she strikes me as one who will make big moves in the season. One of her best assets will be her plan to think of the worst-case scenarios before making any move. I am going to predict she will be a winner or late gamer. She will be able to slide through as some “clueless” girl, but I do not think she will be.

1. Corey Brooks

Corey right off the bat gives me winner vibes. He mentions that people skills are a key and I could see him doing well in that arena. I think Corey actually seems like one of the most normal people ever cast on Big Brother. He states that keeping blood off his hands, key player in competitions along with a strong social skills is how he will play the game. If he correctly does all this, he’ll be an end gamer and a likely winner. If the houseguest are smart, they will target him quickly because of his body build. I would think this guy can win competitions and that makes him dangerous.

Luann de Lesseps Thinks Ramona Singer Takes Her & Sonja Morgan For Granted

What is with the women on Real Housewives of New York constantly excluding each other from trips this season? Do they not understand how this works? The trips are for the viewers, not the cast. They ALL need to go, otherwise it’s just not going to be as good. Needless to say, I was pretty peeved when I saw Bethenny Frankel asking the cast for a vote to decide if Luann de Lesseps and Sonja Morgan should be invited on tequila tasting trip in Mexico.

First off, I find it hard to believe that these women are truly “concerned” over Sonja and her drinking. If they were, they wouldn’t be trying to embarrass her on camera all the time. Second, everyone knows that Luann and Sonja are the ones who really make these vacation episodes. Needless, to say Luann had an issue with this decision, but her issue isn’t with Bethenny who called for the vote. Ramona Singer is actually the one that she’s angry with.

It never feels great to be excluded and I imagine that it feels pretty awful to be left out on a reality television show. So I can see why Luann would be miffed by the discussion to leave her out of the trip during  the last episode. 

In her Bravo blog, Luann explains that it was tough to watch: “When I watched how the girls responded to whether or not I was invited, I was surprised that Ramona didn’t stick up for me more. We’ve been on so many fun girls’ trips together and she does say how I would be missed if I weren’t included, but she didn’t say that to the girls.” Luann and Sonja really are the life of the party and these women all benefit when more people tune into the show, so I just assumed they would want to have the best vacation episodes possible. And that means including the most entertaining people in the cast. So yes, I think it’s absolutely ridiculous that they want to have a cast trip without the entire cast- let alone, the only people who would add entertainment value to the episodes.

And instead of being mad at Bethenny (the person who proposed excluding people in the first place) or Carole Radziwill (the one who really wanted Bethenny to exclude Luann), Luann took issue with Ramona (the only person who stood up for her at all). So what is Luann upset about? Apparently Ramona did not stick up for her enough, but I just don’t get how she’s not at all furious with the people who did not have her back at all.

Then Luann goes into a tangent about Ramona: “I think that Ramona takes Sonja and me for granted. We’ve been by her side through the good and the bad for many years, so you’d think she would be more loyal? Wrong!” To be honest with you, I feel like Ramona was really the only one who cared about Luann’s feelings during that discussion, so I just don’t get why Luann is taking issue with her of all people.

But I guess it wasn’t really that Mexico trip exclusion that really bothered her. It seems like Luann is really more upset about Ramona’s comments about her new man Tom D’Agostino being in touch with his ex and buying her gifts and that she is just using the talk about Mexico as more justification to be angry. Luann writes, “When I was at her apartment trying out the hair extensions, I shared with her that I had a fortune teller come to my home back in November and she predicted I’d meet my soul mate within two weeks, and I did! Tom told me he loved me one week in, and the feeling was mutual. Ramona could tell how over-the-moon I was for Tom, so when she tried to burst my bubble by sharing what she’d heard about him calling his ex and giving her a present, I wondered if she was trying to be a good girlfriend or if subliminally, she was trying to hurt me.”

I don’t even know where to begin with that one. There is just way too much to pick apart in those words- mainly the speedy timeline of events. I don’t even feel like Ramona was trying to burst Luann’s bubble at all. It was definitely pertinent information to bring up and I have no idea why Luann is reacting this way.

At the end of her blog, Luann writes, “if I’m not invited, it’s their loss. I’m very happy to stay at home with Tom.” This is such a lie. She went out of the way to invite herself during that awkward hang out with Bethenny and she wrote a whole blog about not getting invited so there is no way that I would ever believe she would be happy not joining this trip.

More Drama For Jules Wainstein: She Called The Police On Husband Michael After She Was Hit With A Tax Lein

My heart is really aching for Jules Wainstein. In such a short time she went from basically being in the background on Real Housewives of New York to being front page news for the troubles in her marriage with Michael Wainstein. First of all, the divorce news was a major shocker. Then, after rumors that the show was to blame Jules’s rep confirms that Michael was cheating. On top of that, the last episode was really not a good look for the couple with Michael’s weird insistence on showering and his attachment to his phone.

You know what they say, “when it rains, it pours,” and that definitely seems to be the case for Jules these days. There seems to be more drama accumulating by the hour. This is far from an amicable split between Jules and Michael.

As if Jules wasn’t stressed out enough, the reality star has been hit with a tax lien! And in case you were wondering, this does not pertain to any joint property that Jules has with Michael. According to the Daily Mail, Jules owes $25,000 in bills related to a New York penthouse that she is listed as sole owner for. Apparently she bought the place with her sisters, but her name is the only one on it. She does not have a job outside of the show and now would be a super awkward time to ask Michael for money, so I’m not sure how she’s going to handle this one.

And things have actually become even worse for Jules. The two got into some sort of altercation and Jules called the police. Daily Mail obtained a picture of a police officer carrying a written statement with the words “threatening me… going to ruin my life,” blaring and very easy to see. Jules rep has not commented on the incident, but even if that never happens it is clear that the former couple has reached a breaking point.

On top of that, more news is coming to light about Michael’s alleged affair: it is rumored that the woman was friends with Jules. To be fair, I have no idea if it  is actually a good friend of hers or if it’s just someone she knows, but either way it sounds like an awful situation.

It does make you wonder why Michael insists on showering as soon he gets home and who he is always texting. It’s just a sad situation all around.

NeNe Leakes Admits To New Nose Job; Says She’s Helping Porsha Williams’ Ratings On Dish Nation

NeNe Leakes and Vivica A. Fox were the guests on Watch What Happens Live tonight. It’s been a while since NeNe was on the show, so Andy started off with a game of catch up.

Has she been in touch with Cynthia Bailey since her separation? “Yes, I talked to her this morning. She’s doing good.” She also says she’s good with Peter and talks to him.

On rumors in the tabloids that she and Porsha Williams are feuding: “I’m not feuding with Porsha.” Andy asks “is she feuding with you?” NeNe says “She might be – her and her little job over there at Dish Nation. They always talk about me, but they should continue, I help their ratings.”

Was she surprised that Kenya Moore and Matt broke up? “I’m not surprised. I didn’t think they were a match. I don’t think he’s Kenya’s type.”

She shares that she has not seen Kandi’s baby yet but she sent a nice gift.

NeNe says that as far as she knows Kandi and Phaedra are no longer friends. When Andy asks if she knows how Phaedra and Apollo are doing she says, “well, he’s in prison so they can’t be doing too good.”

Which Housewives have came to her comedy show so far? “Cynthia.”

A caller asks about NeNe’s plastic surgery. She admits that she had her nose done again (the first time wasn’t a total rhinoplasty) for medical reasons. She says the cartilage was growing in her nose and the tip of her nose was touching the top of her lip when she smiled. But I have to say that even her lips/teeth are different, too. And something with her chin/cheekbones but that might just be because of the new nose. I don’t know. But her new nose is giving me Tamar Braxton, no?  She said she’s still very swollen – it’s only day 13 post-surgery.

A caller asks Vivica to say three nice things about Kenya Moore and says that NeNe can help. NeNe says, “She has great hair, She has great eyes.” Vivica says, “she finally got her house done and it has big closets.”  NeNe adds that Kenya works a lot and can be a lot of fun.

A caller asks NeNe when she talked to Kim Zolciak last. “I talk to Kim all the time. I talked to her like a week ago. We’re good.”

 And that’s it – short and mellow episode tonight!

Big Brother 18: NO Battle of the Block, New Comp Revealed!

Time to get ready for a NEW twist since Battle of the Block (BOTB) is officially dead, at least for Big Brother 18.  Executive Producer Allison Grodner did hint at the possibility of it coming back in the future, but I suppose only time will tell.  CBS does like to recycle twists (i.e. the twin twist).  The announcement of BOTB not being a part of the new season also came with the reveal of the first twist of the season.  There is going to be a new competition on the Sunday night episodes!

As far as we can tell, there will still be Have-Nots, but Grodner told The Hollywood Reporter they wanted to change things up and “keep the stakes high in the sunday show because we didn’t want to go back to Have-Not competitions.” I can kind of agree only because there wasn’t a whole lot of impact on the game as a whole. With no competitions, the Have-Nots will likely be selected again by the Head of Household.

More often than not, people volunteer to be Have-Nots, which is one way to be in the HOH’s good graces since you prevent them getting blood on their hands for something that doesn’t even end a fellow houseguests game.  Not to mention, while being a Have-Not sucks (especially for sleeping arrangements), Big Brother hasn’t been as strict on them in recent seasons, as evidenced by the complete lack of penalties given out when rules aren’t followed.

Okay, back to the new competition.  At this point, we have some information, but no solid evidence as to how it will impact the game.  From what we know, the competition will take place after the original (see speculation later) Head of Household announces the new eviction nominees.  However, the competition will be before the veto competition.  Grodner also says there will be a “new ceremony” at the end of the new competition. At this point, we can only theorize what the new challenge airing on Sunday nights will be, and I have two possible ideas – keeping in mind that they wanted the competition to have high stakes.

Theory One: Battle of the Block spinoff, but with only one HOH nominating

My first idea is kind of a spin-off of some aspects of BOTB.  In a game where the general format is assign an HOH, choose nominees, possibly choose a replacement nominee and evict a house guest, there are only a few places where you can have a major (high stakes) impact on the game.  Since we know this is after the HOH competition and before the veto competition, that leaves us with the nominee “step”.  That leads me to conclude that the HOH may have to nominate FOUR house guests.  This is similar to BOTB in that four house guests will be nominated, but it is not by two different HOH’s and they do not work on teams.   The competition will be for the four nominees to battle it out and the two who win would be taken off the block and the two losers would be the ones left for eviction (pending the outcome of the Power of Veto competition and ceremony).

I think this could be interesting for a few reasons.  Traditionally, Big Brother follows the same sort of pattern of competitions, and tends to have the same type of comps only with changes of the theme to fit the season.  Given that this would be a four-person competition and you would need to have the possibility for two people to end up winners, we would see some different types of competitions.  I’m sure CBS knows they need to spice it up a little to keep people interested.

In addition, this would have a major impact on the HOH.  They would be getting blood on their hands and putting a target on their back for four fellow house guests even though two will never be at risk of going home.  The standard “pawn” play won’t work since the pawns would need to win the competition to be safe.  It’s not like putting a single pawn up against an easy target.  I suppose if you have 3 pawns and you can guarantee the one target does not win the competition, you might be good, but that would be a tough one to swing.

This would be different than BOTB, since each HOH only had to nominate two people, in addition, it was too easy to have one of the people throw the competition.  This left the HOH who nominated them in power and usually guaranteed the safety of the one throwing the competition leaving the “anticipated target” to be evicted.  Often the two HOH’s would work together and it kind of made the BOTB pointless.  With 4 individual nominees, it is likely that no one would throw it since their safety would not be guaranteed because they could not guarantee that the target won’t win and save themselves.  This would make it a true competition with high stakes.

The only problem I see here is that the competition could not last the whole season.  With 4 nominees, it would have to end once the pool starts getting smaller or too many house guests would be nominees.  This is similar to BOTB which lasted for 8 weeks in Big Brother 16 and only 5 weeks in Big Brother 17; however, the shorter run in BB17 could be because it wasn’t really a “fan favorite”, depending who you asked, of course.  Often, the twists don’t last the whole game – usually one twist ends and it leads to a different twist, for example when the coaches in Big Brother 14 entered the game.

Even the Have-Not competitions (and previously the food competitions) were not a guaranteed weekly competition.  There were still weeks where the HOH would choose the have-nots.  There is no way to tell if the intention of the Big Brother 18 producers was to create a new competition that would be every week for the whole season, such as HOH and Veto, or if it is just a twist that is not meant to last the entire season.

Theory 2: Head of Household power fight

Now, I did have one other idea.  Since this is after the nominations, but before the Veto competition (that the HOH participates in), I am wondering if there will be a change in HOH (which is why I mentioned “original” HOH earlier).  This would lead to another competition to battle for the replacement HOH.  This would have some high stakes in a different sort of way.  First, the original HOH will have blood on their hands for the nominations while losing their power. In addition, similar to BOTB, they can go from HOH to being a nominee and possibly evicted in the same week if the Power of Veto is used.

This would also be a good twist strategically.  Often as HOH, you have a primary target and you work to get the votes to get them evicted.  Generally, the HOH does not ever cast a vote (except, of course, in the rare occasion there is a tie).  However, if you are going to be replaced as HOH, you can count yourself as a vote assuming that people stay on your side even when you are no longer “in power”.  But be careful – if one of your expected votes becomes HOH, you lose it.  Not to mention, you will have the nominees gunning for you if they win veto and a backdoor is very possible.

Now, both of these competition speculation ideas have one tiny issue.  Alison Grodner did mention that there may be a new ceremony too, but obviously, “expect the unexpected” and this could just be to throw us off and make the speculation more difficult.  The first speculation regarding the 4 house guests and two of them being taken off the block doesn’t really leave room for a ceremony.  It is possible that some sort of version of this could be true – such as only two nominees and they battle each other to save themselves.  Then the HOH would have to choose a replacement nominee which would be a ceremony.  I am not sure about this though since with the Power of Veto, that could cause two replacements in a week.  However, this would make for a great game, lots of change-up and a lot of blood on the HOH hands.

Similarly, the in the idea where the HOH is replaced, there would not really be a new ceremony.  However, if the nominees are allowed to compete (which would only be fair) and one of them wins, they would automatically come off the block and would need to select a replacement nominee.  Watch out original HOH, they could easily avenge their original nomination by selecting YOU for eviction.

Of course, everything is speculation until Sunday, June 26th when the first new competition will be aired, aside from what we are able to gather in spoilers from the Big Brother Live Feeds.

Stephanie Hollman Reflects On The Changing Friendships In The Real Housewives Of Dallas Cast

I ended up loving Real Housewives of Dallas a lot more than I ever expected. At first it kind of annoyed me with the constant poop references, but once that story line (finally) tired out it became a very endearing show that really added to the Bravo franchise. And I really ended up liking Stephanie Hollman. She is one of the few people who can pull off being entertaining on TV while actually being a nice person.

I can’t say the same for the rest of the cast though. There was a ton of a drama and it pretty much all involved the show’s villain LeeAnne Locken. Since the season just ended, Stephanie has reflected on the friendships that have come and gone throughout that time.

In all honesty, that finale was beyond boring. I really can’t think of one interesting part aside from Cary Deuber and LeeAnne having a conversation about LeeAnne spreading rumors about Cary’s marriage. Stephanie wrote about this in her Bravo blog: “I think Cary and LeeAnne clash because of miscommunication. Cary heard LeeAnne’s harsh judgments and accusations about her marriage. I understand that she felt she had to say something. I believe LeeAnne felt the tension and realized that Cary knew about her judgmental gossiping. Whatever the circumstance, nothing was resolved. When everyone left, I felt a sadness.”

Yeah, I didn’t really get much from that conversation either other than the fact that LeeAnne is not at all sorry and she has no regard for the family that she is shamelessly bringing down. LeeAnne doesn’t even know Cary so all the gossip was extremely out of line.

Then without naming names Stephanie talked about the weirdest friendship situation on the show: that LeeAnne friendship triangle involving Tiffany Hendra and Marie Reyes: “Just months earlier I was introduced to four beautiful, happy women. Three of them were long time friends that share life’s greatest moments; babies, weddings, struggles, etc. Now, there is only tension, hurt and sadness.” She really said that so well, but I also find it hard to believe that these friendships were truly solid. It really comes off like LeeAnne, Marie, and Tiffany are just bound to each other due to their years of history instead of a genuine fondness for each other.

Stephanie also wrote about her ability to form her own opinions and her refusal to ever be someone’s sidekick or follower (maybe Tiffany or Marie can learn a thing or two from her): “I haven’t experienced friendships where I felt pushed to choose one side or another and continually prove loyalties since high school. I believe that I can have an opinion based on circumstances but am entitled to think for myself. My opinion does not make me a less loyal friend — it makes me true to myself.” Good for Stephanie. She is really one of the few people who can pull of being kind and non-confrontational without being boring on reality television. I adore her and I hope that she sticks around if the show gets a second season.

Bethenny Frankel Relates Jules Wainstein’s Marriage Troubles To Her Own Life

When the news about Jules Wainstein’s divorce announcement hit the press on the same day that a new Real Housewives of New York episode airs, I was ready to dissect Jules and Michael Wainstein’s every onscreen action and look for evidence leading up to this surprising news.

And I didn’t have to try too hard looking for clues. The episode opened with Jules breaking down to talk about how she is the only one who parents her children. Then there was that uncomfortable double date the couple had with Dorinda Medley and her boyfriend John Mahdessian which really made me feel so sad for Jules. Apparently I wasn’t the only one who had a strong reaction to that scene since Bethenny had something to say about it as well.

I’m not sure if it was the episode itself that had me feeling so bad for Jules or if it was that in combination with the divorce announcement and the cheating allegations against Michael, but I just wish I could give the girl a hug. I was cringing while Michael embarrassed Jules while they were at dinner with Dorinda and John. He was on his phone the entire time and when he was between calls, he really wasn’t present. And on top of that, all of this was happening while Jules was stressing out about her father being in the hospital- talk about a lack of sensitivity there!

Bethenny didn’t have a ton to say in her Bravo blog about this week’s episode, which is super weird since she starts off the entry with “This is my favorite episode ever.” I just figured she would want to share more thoughts, but I guess the episode speaks for itself- at least according to Bethenny.

One topic that Bethenny did address was the double date: “That dinner with Jules and Dorinda was actually painful. This was Dorinda getting all lit up and waxing poetic with metaphors for days.” Yeah, I really had no idea what Dorinda was talking about at all. I know she meant well, but she did not really help alleviate the awkwardness of that whole situation.

Bethenny writes, “It’s looking like Jules and Michael are having some trouble in paradise. That I don’t miss, and that I don’t envy. I do ‘suck at relationships,’ but I’d rather be solo than feel like that. Tensions have arisen over there. “

I feel like this was Bethenny’s attempt to be sympathetic and understanding, but it really did miss the mark. I didn’t think it was necessary to relate the scene back to her own love life and throw that shade. I also don’t appreciate her subtle plug for her book I Suck at Relationships. That was pretty tacky, even for a housewife. I just don’t feel like Bethenny was at all sensitive to Jules’s situation- especially since that divorce announcement and the cheating allegations hit the press on the SAME DAY the episode aired. She really could have tried harder with the commentary on that one.

And then after I was getting annoyed at Bethenny for her take on that dinner, I literally laughed out loud at this gem: “John was trying to break the tension, and at that dinner, he was definitely my favorite Housewife.” John really was the only bright light in that uncomfortable scene. He was the only one trying to quell the tension and he was the only one who was enjoyable to watch- hopefully this continues and everyone can stop hating on him.

Little Women: NY – Making Babies And Mixing Beats

Looks like we are about the meet the newest member of Little Women: NY with the arrival of Katie Snyder’s baby girl! On last week’s episode, Katie was being rushed to the hospital after a blow up at the laundromat with resident meddlers, Dawn Lang and Lila Call. Is it incredibly over the top to be accosting a pregnant woman when she is due any day? Sure! Do these gals seem to care? NOPE.

We join Katie at the hospital, where she is anxiously waiting to give birth with mom, Kathie, and waste of space boyfriend/baby daddy, PJ. She had another week to go but it looks like the baby is coming now.

Over at Apartment D (for delusional), Lila and Dawn are busy telling Jason Perez and Jazmin Lang their horribly skewed version of events with the Katie confrontation. They explain how gently they approached Katie and how it was all Katie’s fault that the conversation went off the rails. If you were looking for any accountability, you definitely won’t find it here. Jazmin decides to do the right thing and call Jessica Capri to check on Katie. Turns out, baby Kinzley is here safe and sound but is being treated for having six fingers on each hand and diagnosed with the same form of dwarfism Katie has, hypochondroplasia. Back at the hospital, Jess is trying to figure out where Katie and PJ plan on live now that the baby is here but Katie doesn’t know what to say and PJ is busy on his phone, probably mixing up some beats.

Once home with Kinzley, Katie discusses plans to have a Sip and See so everyone can meet the baby. Well, everyone but Lila and Dawn. Eff that, Katie doesn’t want to deal with them but Mama Kathie, for some stupid reason beyond all comprehension, thinks that she should be the bigger person and invite the two people who just sent her daughter into early labor with their drama.

Jazmin, Dawn and Lila meet in the park and Dawn has news: she has a new man and he’s a little person. Also, she is still super judgmental. The talk turns to Dawn’s tension-filled relationship with her brother, David Lang, and although it’s perfectly fine for Dawn to give her opinion on everyone else’s life, she quickly gets defensive and deflects to Jazmin. She blabs that Jazmin told roomie Jason how uncomfortable she is with Lila bringing home random men she meets online. Lila feels slut shamed by Dawn but Dawn says she has done it by herself by talking about her sex life in front of her. Looks like Judge Dawn came out of a very brief retirement and made it back on the bench in full force for this episode!

At Katie and Jess’s apartment, Katie is enjoying being a new mom. So much so that the second Jess walks in the door, Katie dumps Kinzley off on her to feed, bathe and change while she goes and takes a nap. Jess goes to change her and discovers one of her extra fingers has fallen off and is totally weirded out. Kathie, PJ and Katie run in to see what the commotion is and Kathie gets a baggy so she can save the finger for “memories”. Jess has reached her baby limit and tells Katie if she wants some rest, PJ can actually help with their child he helped create.

The next day, Jess decides to approach Katie about their living situation. When Katie was pregnant and broken up with PJ, Jess had no problem taking her in temporarily. Now that it’s Katie plus her mom, the baby and her lame ass boyfriend, Jess thinks it’s more than she can deal with. She feels like the live-in nanny for a very dysfunctional family. I understand that as a brand new mom, Katie is probably really overwhelmed, but did she really not see this coming? She asks where she is supposed to go and Jess points out that PJ should be stepping up to figure this out. Dawn and Lila, take note: this is how you approach a friend you care about when you have genuine concerns.

It’s the day of the Sip & See and it’s time to sip some tea and see some drama. Before everyone arrives, Katie tells her mom that she and PJ have decided to move back to Seattle with the baby and mooch off live with her for a little while. Mama Kathie says that’s ok but addresses PJ and says that he has to get a job and can’t just take two showers a day, not pay the water bill, and pretend to have a music career. PJ turns bright red under his neon green sweatshirt and defends himself by saying she doesn’t know what he really does and he actually held down a real job at a car dealership for almost two months! Well played, PJ, well played. PJ doesn’t like Kathie looking at him the way she is looking at him (like he’s a bum, probably) and then makes some big speech about how he isn’t changing today, tomorrow or ever. Then he mentions something about how he has blessed everyone’s life with “this kid”. As in, his daughter. That’s right, he has blessed everyone by accidentally procreating. Side note: I had to stop typing for a minute just to pick my jaw up off the floor. While PJ continues to yell at Kathie, Jess runs into the room to calm everyone down.  Little does she know, the drama is just getting started.

Dawn is the first to arrive and doesn’t waste any time throwing shade about Katie’s maternity pictures and her last conversation with Lila. She tells them what happened at the park with Lila and Jazmin and divulges a very convoluted version of her private conversation with Lila. Lila, Jason and Jazmin show up and Lila starts right in on Dawn because she could hear Dawn talking about her personal business all the way from the elevator. While I’m with Lila on this one, her delivery could wait for sure. But she can’t let it go, even when Jess tries to shut it down. Lila and Dawn head to the bedroom and scream at each other. Dawn tries to defend her actions by saying she is concerned about her. Oh, here we go again – using her “concern” as a way to judge everything that everyone does, friend or not. Lila isn’t having any of it and storms out of the party. Dawn acts like nothing has happened and tries to make a grab for the baby, who cries to escape her evil clutches. As Lila does her own crying in the hall, Jazmin and Jason calm her to the point where she can go back in and try and make this Sip & See about baby Kinzley. My favorite part of this whole episode is Katie handing sweet baby Kinzley over to an emotional Lila while in the background, PJ sits with his legs spread, equally deep into the couch and his phone.  That pretty much sums it up.

Since it’s the season finale, we get a little summary of what everyone has been doing and it’s not too exciting but here you go: Lila is no longer on speaking terms with Dawn and still gets with guys on the internet. Dawn has no real update outside of the fact that she works a lot and is on the outs with everyone. Jazmin went to Florida to spend time with David and wants to start a family soon. Katie and PJ moved baby Kinzley to Seattle to live with her mom and she’s tired. Jason is living in NYC and still with long distance boyfriend, DJ. Jess is back on the dating scene and enjoying her life now that she has some peace and quiet.

Big Brother 18 Cast: Paul Abrahamian – The Beard

Big Brother 18 cast member Paul Abrahamian, 23, hails from Los Angeles, California and is a clothing designer for his own apparel company, Deadskull.  While Paul describes himself as a “nice dude”, he is very self-aware that his image can be intimidating.  It all starts with his thick beard and his image is further defined by lots of tattoos and a wild (and crazy!) personality.

One of Paul’s passions is music and he loves a good jam session.  That is probably why he answered “my guitar because I love to play and write music” in his CBS profile when he was asked what he’d take into the house and why.  In addition to making music, Paul enjoys going to concerts and getting wild.  He does all of the “fun stuff” like crowd surfing, moshing and stage diving.

Three words Paul Abrahamian uses to describe himself are honest, spontaneous and energetic.  In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, his energetic nature was further embellished when he discussed how he was looking forward to seeing where all of his energy goes, since he won’t have his normal outlets such as music, creating stuff and traveling.

While you don’t want to suffer from fatigue in the Big Brother 18 house, too much energy can cause trouble.  Tons of energy could lead to excess talking which could either annoy other houseguests or blow up your game.  Paul could suffer from revealing too much information or even spilling secrets.  The problems will arise when he lets his energy build up too much.  Hopefully, his energy can be managed by working out or even just being a little crazy sometimes.  Physical competitions will certainly serve as a good outlet as well.

While Paul describes himself as honest, we will have to see if he is willing to lie and deceive, when necessary, to win the game.  Most people would say that Big Brother is a game and if you lie in the game, it does not make you any less honest of a person.

Paul’s strategy seems to focus primarily on the mental (and social) aspect of the game.  He says he is good at manipulating people into doing what he wants and “getting them to think they’re on top of a situation when, really, they’re not”.  He is going to be “the guy who’s gonna kick his feet up, drink a beer with you, let you talk about why your life is weird and just smile and nod” and then wreak havoc in the diary room (“chaos” and “catastrophe”).

In addition to being sneaky, Paul says he is observant and able to remember things as well as “handle high stress situations well”.  Competitions are often high stress situations and being able to keep your cool is crucial.  Being observant and being able to remember the things you observe (as well as general memory) will be helpful for some of the mental competitions.

When Jeff Schroeder asked in his Big Brother Live Feeds interview if he would rather “win and be hated by America or lose and be loved by America”, Paul casually responded with an enthusiastic “I don’t care”.  He is “here to have a good time, cause chaos and have fun.” He is happy with his life coming into the house and he would be “stoked” to go back to the same life when he is out of the house.  As a thrill seeker and someone whose life motto talks about living life to the fullest, being on Big Brother is a new experience to enjoy life. While he may not be hungry for the money, Paul is definitely not in it for the fame.

At the very least, he should make for some good TV as evidenced by the following statement: “It’s gonna be nuts.  I’m gonna be wild.”
