Shahs of Sunset Recap – Season 6 Episode 9: Turkey With a Side of Tension

I have to admit, when I saw that tonight’s episode of Shahs of Sunset was titled “A Tale of Two Turkeys” I was worried we would spend the episode rehashing the two different versions of events that Mike Shouhed and Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi presented from their fateful cast trip to Turkey a few years ago. I guess I have spent too long following the Shahs but either way, I was relieve to find out that the turkey the title is referring to is just good old fashioned Turkey Day because it’s Thanksgiving on the Sunset. Time to give thanks, right? If by “thanks” I mean gossip, backstabbing and meddling in each other’s business! God, I love the holidays.

We open with Mike and buddy once more Reza Farahan walking their dogs and talking crudely about Mike’s dating life. Who really belongs on the leash here? Anyway, Reza thinks that it’s time that Mike gets back into the dating game and while Mike assures everyone that it’s not for lack of options, he feels like when you have been cheating with someone for 5 years, it’s hard to get back into dating mode. Plus, he’s not technically divorced yet, although that didn’t seem to stop him from dating when he was actually married. Reza is shocked to hear this news, especially since he took the liberty of circling the divorce finalization date in a red sharpie marker on his calendar, signaling that it’s FINAL. I guess because if Reza uses a red sharpie, then all of the mediation, negotiation and litigation that it takes to finalize a divorce gets trumped by a red marker? I can’t understand why Reza is so shocked to hear this but since he has to turn everything into an ulterior motive, he asks Mike if he’s dragging his feet on the divorce because he’s still emotionally invested. Mike maintains that he’s just not ready and who knows, he probably has a full plate with all the baby shoes he selling (or something).

GG is at the Pleasure Chest and for those of you who can’t use your imaginations, it’s a sex shop. She’s looking terrified and considering how much GG has talked about sex in the past, I’m surprised to see how uncomfortable she seems in the presence of a dildo. One would think that with a friend like Mercedes “MJ” Javid, they would be commonplace for GG. But GG is here for business, not pleasure (get it?) because as a “theatrical actress” (HAAAAAAA!), she is doing research for her part in the off off Broadway production of Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man. Adam Neely arrives just in time for the Blow Job Class and GG isn’t even close to a penis but is gagging at the thought already. The Sex Therapist educates GG on how she can get over her hang ups of having a small mouth and gag reflex to really enjoy giving a blow job by using techniques like the aptly named “harmonica”. GG remains mortified and dubious throughout the whole thing but is committed to her craft and if her craft requires learning about blow jobs, then so be it.

Onto a more uplifting scene, Reza and MJ have been feeding the homeless the day before Thanksgiving for years now and have even managed to get the rest of the crew involved. They arrive at the Los Angeles Mission and even Destiney Rose is allowed to come (I forgot about her already). While food prepping, Destiney asks Asa Soltan Rahmati all about her family life and Jermaine and Asa is thrilled to bore her with the details as she drones on about how perfect everything is. MJ is stuck in the middle of this conversation and does her best to not have her eyes roll right out of her head in annoyance for how Asa is happy, happy, happy all of the time. I mean, except when she is whining about how hard pregnancy is and how no one is paying enough attention to her.

When they are done pretending to help, GG tells Shervin Roohparvar what a bad place she is in with sister Leila but she knows she should join them at Shervin’s house for Thanksgiving dinner. Shervin encourages her to send a text inviting her, so GG does and then immediately assumes she will end up regretting it. That’s the Thanksgiving spirit!

Mike meets Asa at the Middle Eastern market so he can add some Persian flare to the whole holiday. What he didn’t realize was that he was going to get a big, heaping side of guilt trip from good ole “no one cares about my pregnancy as much as I do” Asa. He can’t even ask her how she’s doing without hearing about uterus cramping and how sad she is that this is supposed to be the happiest time of her life but everyone is too busy crapping on her to enjoy it. For once, Mike isn’t really interested in entertaining this nonsense and believes that Asa is spending so much energy assuming that everyone has an issue with her, that she’s projecting it onto them in her own alternative reality. Plus, Asa isn’t so innocent and he reminds her about her level of self-absorption when they were in Israel and MJ was crying at dinner about her father while Asa snapped pictures of the pregnant fish she refused to eat. He’s got her there but Asa is as Teflon as she is pregnant because she deflects that statement right off her by claiming that she just didn’t hear what was happening. Mike changes course and tells her he doesn’t care about how she conceived but Asa latches onto that, wondering how the rumors about it even started. Mike came to play today because he doesn’t even bat an eye telling her it was her bestie Reza.

Ultimately, Asa claims that Jermaine’s request for privacy is what ultimately keeps her from sharing any of the more intimate details of her life. As much as I don’t think it’s anyone’s business how Asa conceived, I do think that it’s important to note that Asa seems to have no problem sharing all the happy and joyous things about her relationship (how their baby is a miracle, the sex of the baby, how excited her family is, how they are planning to raise the baby once he’s here) but she draws the line and claims she prefers privacy when it comes to anything else she doesn’t want to talk about. As much as I think she shouldn’t have to share every single aspect of her life with her friends just because they ask, it’s hard to take her excuse seriously when she constantly demands that everyone ask her about her pregnancy and attend to her.

Shervin’s family, along with girlfriend Annalise are there to celebrate Thanksgiving and Shervin is feeling the love, saying that he can see Annalise at all his family events moving forward. MJ shows up, armed with a Tupperware full of makeup so she can get ready at his house, presumably because he has running water. As she helps Shervin fold napkins, she tries to bring up the cheating rumors and Shervin tells her that she can see herself out if she is going to bring it up again.

Everyone else arrives at Shervin‘s for dinner but noticeably absent is Asa, who has decided to have her own quiet Thanksgiving with her parents, Reza and Adam. According to Asa, she just came from her doctor, who prescribed that she stay away from negativity and stress so naturally, she is going to break bread with the person who has been spreading rumors about how she conceived her unborn child. It doesn’t take long for Asa to confront Reza on this and he fully admits it without hesitating. Well, sort of, because then he throws MJ under the bus and says he wishes that he just got caught up in MJ’s pain about the whole thing. Deep down, Reza is really upset not about whether or not Asa is telling the truth about her pregnancy but that she’s forcing him to choose sides between her and MJ. Asa reiterates that she’s sad and she’s pregnant and blah, blah, blah, pregnant, pregnant I don’t even know what she’s saying outside of being pregnant anymore. They make up and Asa says she will forgive Reza but never forget. For Reza’s part, they might be hugging but he’s starting to realize the adverse effect of Asa’s secrecy in their group of friends.

Back at Shervin’s house, there’s also tension and tension’s name is GG. She starts with deciding that it’s her responsibility to tell Annalise about what Shervin has been up to while she’s planning their walk down the aisle in her head. You know, GG just wants to make sure that Annalise knows what she’s getting into. Would now be a good time to reminisce about when GG got into a huge fight with MJ because MJ told GG’s then-boyfriend about her kissing another guy? Remember how mad she was and how she told MJ it wasn’t her place to tell him? Yeah, lots of hypocrisy going on here but a rehabbed GG isn’t an enlightened one so she presses on, despite the fact that Annalise says she 150% believes Shervin. Oh Annalise, the poor thing is going to stand by her man despite the rumors, but I suppose I can respect the fact that much like that hideous doo-doo colored lip gloss she is wearing, when she commits to something, she really commits.

Everyone sits down to dinner and GG is disappointed to see that Leila hasn’t come but surprise, Leila walks in a few moments later and GG forgets all about her disappointment and looks anything but happy. She morphs into ultra-drama mode, fanning herself and acting like she’s just seen a ghost, a ghost that she invited to the party. Then she decides to take it up a notch and make the most awkward of toasts, thanking Shervin and Annalise, “even though they are going through some sh**” and then thanks Leila for showing up.

Once dinner is over, Leila goes outside to smoke and complain to Shervin and Mike about how fake GG’s speech was. Mike defends GG because he knows she was trying and he knows how these sisters work – Leila has always been jealous of all the attention GG got. As hard as GG is supposedly trying not to cause drama with Leila, she can’t help herself when she walks by Leila talking smack on her to their dad. A screaming match ensues, with GG throwing profanities like confetti and Leila accusing her of not being truly rehabbed. Finally, GG calms down enough over a smoke break and they go in to play backgammon, with Leila playing Shalom as an olive branch.

Mike looks on, commenting that he’s seen this play out between GG and Leila a thousand times and he hopes that when they are old and tired, they don’t look back with regret for how much time they wasted fighting. Pretty profound, coming from Mike, and after this episode, I’m feeling old and tired myself. Maybe next week, the Shahs will have a little more to be thankful for.

Ramona Singer Wants To Star In The Next ‘Bachelorette’ Season

Even though the name of the franchise is called Real Housewives, most of the women on Real Housewives of New York are actually single. After boasting about her happy marriage for years, Ramona Singer got divorced after finding out that her husband cheated on her through the press.

Since then Ramona has bragged about her many dates, but she hasn’t really shared much of her love life on RHONY, but she does seem open to dating on a different reality TV show.

After meeting the most recent star of The Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay and her man Bryan Abasolo, the RHONY star tweeted Rachel saying, “After meeting @TheRachLindsay I really think I should be the next #bachelorette @BacheloretteABC why not?” As someone who is (a little too) obsessed with both The Bachelorette and Real Housewives, this sounds like the most brilliant idea. Well, maybe not “brilliant,” but it would definitely be entertaining to see Ramona navigating group dates and handing out roses.

Rachel saw the merit in Ramona’s idea since she tweeted her back saying, “I’m all about it. I can be your mentor lol.” They were (most likely) joking, but I’m all for this become a reality. Ramona told Rachel, “Let’s talk to them. Why can’t I find love too???” Such a good question, Ramona.

Even though I am all about this idea, one Twitter user came at Ramona saying, “Really!!? U R 60 yrs old!! People don’t have time for that!! Maybe your Daughter though!!” Ramona shot back at her saying, “Oh didn’t know you can’t find love at 60,” which made me flash back to Ramona denying her age and referring to the RHONY cast as “women in their 40’s” during the group trip to Vermont.

Another hater tweeted Ramona, “Really? It’s already creepy watching you go into flirt mode on RHONY with every male that you meet.” And Ramona told her, “So don’t watch.” I would definitely watch this. I would die to see Ramona in sequin evening gown and inviting eligible bachelors into the fantasy suite.

LeeAnne Locken Is Upset Brandi Redmond Denied Their Friendship; Thinks Stephanie Hollman Hates Her

At this point Real Housewives of Dallas is essentially The LeeAnne Locken Show. It seems like everyone is either talking about LeeAnne or waiting for an excuse to bring her up again. This season got off to an interesting start when Brandi Redmond went from being attached at the hip with Stephanie Hollman during Season 1 to ignoring her for her new friend LeeAnne.

Brandi’s friendship with LeeAnne came to an end as soon as she and Stephanie made up. Brandi put the nail in the coffin of that relationship when she decided to invite Steph and Cary Deuber to a girls trip to Memphis and did not include LeeAnne. Even though LeeAnne wasn’t invited, she was definitely a hot topic of conversation.

LeeAnne discussed the last RHOD episode in her Bravo blog. LeeAnne said, “Alright, so I have to start on a disappointed note, unfortunately. It has been disheartening this week, watching Brandi Redmond completely deny that we ever had a friendship. (It’s also weird, because our friendship was on television, where God and everybody could see).” As “crazy” as LeeAnne can seem on TV, it really wasn’t a good look for Brandi to just drop LeeAnne without even telling her about it. Even the biggest LeeAnne haters had to have some sympathy for her getting thrown under the bus like that.

The “Mouth of the South” admitted, “Honestly, it’s been one of the worst and most painful parts of being on the show thus far. How could I have been such a fool? To ever genuinely care about how she was treated by her ex/best/codependent friend? How could I have let myself be vulnerable like that?”

LeeAnne continued her quest to take down the seemingly perfect Stephanie. She wrote, “In the scene that recaps last week’s episode, it’s so beyond obvious just how much Stephanie Hollman hates me. Don’t get me wrong; it’s never fun to be hated. But at this point, I just want her to simmer down some; she’s a bit too, what is it people are saying nowadays, ‘extra?’ Watching her blurt out, ‘Is LeeAnne Locken coming?’ like a 3-year-old and jumping up and down when Brandi said no – Steph, please do less. And for all the folks on Twitter, who believe I am jealous of her, please take note: I could never be jealous of someone like Steph, especially not her inability to “find her voice,” which by the way, sounds exactly like Minnie Mouse. Sorry, Minnie!” At this point it seems like Stephanie and LeeAnne will be going at it whenever they film the reunion episodes.

LeeAnne continued, “‘Why is LeeAnne not here?’ Stephanie asked Brandi, happily. That’s not surprising, though, remember? She kinda hates me. So, I wasn’t taken too aback, that is, until I heard Brandi say that our friendship is a ‘work in progress.’ Jeez. How many hits can I take?”

And then she addressed Brandi’s claim that her children are scared of her: “Oh wait, just a bit more: ‘The girls are scared of her.’ (Insert wicked laugh). What? Really? Just a few months ago we were judging a charity event together, all of us including D’Andra [Simmons], and the girls played and laughed with me. That didn’t look like fear to me, y’all.”

LeeAnne wrote, “One hilarious comparison takes place on the Tennessee trip, when Cary says, ‘I swear to God, if she is talking about us behind our backs, I’m literally gonna lose my mind,’ and then switches to me in Dallas saying, ‘Over the lips and through the gums.’ Ha! Was I supposed to be talking about them? My bad!” Would this show even be on for Season 2 if people weren’t constantly talking about LeeAnne? Is there anything else happening in this Dallas social circle? I sure hope so.

D’Andra Simmons Teases Drama With Brandi Redmond On Real Housewives Of Dallas

Since Season 2 of Real Housewives of Dallas was filmed months ago, there is a lot of back story missing when it comes to the social media activity between the cast members. Clearly there is a lot of tension there, but the viewers are just behind because the conflicts haven’t aired on TV yet.

If you follow D’Andra Simmons or Brandi Redmond on Twitter, it is very clear that they are not best friends, but as far as the show goes, there’s nothing to indicate why… yet.

D’Andra discussed her disconnect with Brandi in an interview for Bravo’s The Daily Dish podcast. She admitted, “I don’t think we’re at a great place right now, but the next couple of episodes later, I think we’ll be in a different place.” That was pretty vague, but I am intrigued nonetheless. After a blah first season, I’m getting into Dallas this year.

D’Andra explained, “I feel like we are at different places in our life and I think that’s probably what the acrimony you’re seeing is. We are not understanding each other because we really didn’t spend a lot of time to get to know each other. She’s the only cast member on the show that I didn’t know. Every other person I was friends with.”

She added, “That’s where you’re seeing that tension and the things that are playing out right now on social media.” But why? I guess the fans will have to wait for specifics.

D’Andra also pointed out, “She’s the OG so she’s probably going to have a lot more people who are on her side and have a lot to say about the new girl.”

One person who D’Andra is actually friends with is the infamous LeeAnne Locken. She admitted that she would talk to LeeAnne after the episodes and say, “I would call her and be like ‘put down the champagne’ or something.” She also told LeeAnne, “This is not a good look for you or this is not a good decision. ”

D’Andra continued, “We would have the same conversation after each episode: ‘why did you do that?'” Even as her good friend, D’Andra admitted, “It was hard for me to watch her do some of the things that she did. ”

Why Christmas Abbott Deserves to Win Big Brother 19

Time for our annual Big Brother series where we dissect each of the final three players’games. For part 1, we’re looking at Big Brother 19’s Christmas Abbott’s game, including her biggest game strengths and weaknesses. These pieces are more to analyze and less to defend or condemn their actions.

Christmas started off Big Brother 19 as an easy fan favorite. She seemed like the strong female player that Big Brother fans hope for every year. She was charming, funny, and the right dose of weird in her preseasons interview. The first couple weeks of the season, she continued to exhibit this charisma.

Fans were in awe of Christmas as they watched her be the only player to actually show Josh Martinez compassion during his meltdowns in the first couple of days. Christmas’s social game was her biggest strength. The reason she didn’t leave week 1 was because Paul Abrahamian fought for her to stay, but also because her former alliance really liked her.

Christmas also even (briefly) got Jessica Graf back on her side after totally turning Jessica into an enemy in the first 15 days. Then Christmas’s injury happened. Instead of giving up, she decided to stay in the game, a decision that got mixed reactions from people outside and inside the Big Brother 19 game. Christmas’s brand is her body, her fitness, and her looks.

Therefore, we could have easily seen Christmas sink into depression, and just not try to play in the competitions, or interactwith the other houseguests. However, we saw Christmas always hungry to participate, and often visibly frustrated when she was not allowed to compete. She also remained fairly social throughout her whole Big Brother experience.

Where Christmas’s game failed was that she was social but also very ready to start a fight. She constantly stuck her nose in conversations that had nothing to do with her, which turned quite a few houseguests sour to her as a player and a person. Eventually, Christmas lost her natural leader instincts.

She became too attached to Paul, and just let him take over as she followed and became a ‘team’ player. Her allegiance to Paul also made her less open to new information and ideas. Josh constantly told Christmas that they needed to get Paul out, but she wouldn’t listen.

Christmas’s social game also gave her chances to form new allies, like when she almost had Jessica and Cody Nickson back on her side, but she threw them away with the Ring of Replacement. Christmas also held a grudge like no other. It kept her from making smart moves at times, and led to her making revenge-esque moves.

In the end, it would be hard to see Christmas beat Josh or Paul, but she is really good at public speaking. Therefore, in her final 2 speech, she may be able to play on emotions and convince the houseguests that her journey was a hard one–overcoming an injury, being a target week 1, and helping her alliance members all get to the final 3.

We don’t believe Christmas would win in the end but with Big Brother, you have to expect the unexpected.

Shannon Beador Weight Loss Update: She’s Lost 20 Pounds & Plans To Lose 20 More Before The Real Housewives Of Orange County Reunion

Whether you love Shannon Beador or not, everyone has to admit that she is really doing the most to earn that orange. She really puts herself out there on Real Housewives of Orange County. She hasn’t been shy about her marital problems or her forty pound weight gain this season.

Instead of solely being applauded for her openness about her body, Shannon actually took a lot of heat for attributing the gain to stress caused by her nemesis Vicki Gunvalson. After apologizing for that comment a million times over, Shannon will (most likely) have to address it again when she films the RHOC reunion episodes. She will be ready for it though. She has lost some weight and she plans to lose even more before she reunites with the rest of the cast for the reunion.

Shannon reflected on her weight loss in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. She admitted, “I wasn’t excited about [documenting my weight loss journey], and I sure wasn’t excited to start filming.”

She confessed, “It’s, like, ‘Oh, crap!’ Now I gotta be in front of a camera, which doesn’t make you look skinnier! But I knew I was going to start working on the weight loss, so at least now when I watch it, I know I’m down a little. I’m down about half, down about half of the weight.”

The mother of three said,  “I want to look healthy,” and shared that she has been working out for a half hour every day with the same trainer that we saw her with when she got her BMI checked on the show.

Big Brother 19 Spoilers: Live Feeds Day 78 Highlights: A Done Deal?

We had a six hour Big Brother 19 Live Feeds outage due to the second part of the final Head of Household competition. Prior to it, the houseguests just had a short discussion about the finals. Paul Abrahamian really encouraged Josh Martinez to win the second round, so that Christmas Abbott didn’t have a chance to stop their path to the Big Brother 19 finals.

With Josh’s possible change of heart, it seems like a done deal: Josh and Paul will be the final two. However, Josh has three days to switch back and forth about his decision to take Paul to the finals over Christmas. We hope he wakes up before it’s too late.

The feeds returned to Josh and Christmas just finishing the second round of the HOH comp. Both were angry and complained a lot about how hard it was to complete. Apparently, it involved a lot of physical activity as they had to run, shoot down pictures of the former houseguests, and answer trivia questions. Paul took the time to address both privately. He congratulated Christmas for doing a great job, despite her losing.

She looks a little disappointed in herself for not being able to beat Josh. Christmas also kept insisting that she could have won it if one factor changed. Josh claimed that he beat her by 7 minutes. Paul patted Josh on the head and told him good job. He expressed fear that Josh was losing it (since they took so long to complete it).

Paul insisted that neither of them had a chance to win in the finals if Christmas was there with either of them. They then discussed telling her together that they weren’t bringing her to the end. They decided to tell her together and drop this bomb later in the week.

Both also lied about their goodbye messages. They both claimed they clowned the jury members in them, and that’s fuel for the jury to hate them on finale night.

Sonja Morgan Accidentally Injured Josh Flagg Before His Wedding Day

At this point, Page Six is another character on Real Housewives of New York. This can be attributed to Sonja Morgan (allegedly) tipping off the press. This time Page Six is quoting Sonja herself and there are no hidden sources.

Sonja and Million Dollar Listing star Josh Flagg went to Page Six after she injured Josh and made him bleed before his wedding to Bobby Boyd. Thankfully, they both spoke to the outlet to recall a humorous story and there weren’t actually any hard feelings.

The incident in question went down a dinner before the big day. Josh explained to Page Six, “Sonja and I have been great friends for many years, and any wounds she may or may not have inflicted on me are well welcomed. I love her dearly.”

Sonja said, “We were all hanging out, and Josh leaned over to look at my diamond-and-pearl necklace, but he unfortunately tripped over and I had to literally catch him by his balls.” She added, “Yes, it is true I had to grab him right between the legs, and held him up by the balls. He’s a tiny thing so it wasn’t hard. He may have banged his head, but it wasn’t bad.” Even though the article does say that “they had to put makeup over the gash on his forehead for the wedding pictures.”

According to the New York housewife, “He had a little nick on his face, but if you look at the wedding pictures, he was fine and he looks great.” Thank god for makeup, photo editing, and filters.

Sonja said, “That’s just the way we roll. He is the male version of me. We just have that crass, bawdy sense of humor with each other. I am so happy that Josh and Bobby found each other.”

Bethenny Frankel Will Have Surgery After Finding Skin Cancer Growth On Her Face

Just because Real Housewives of New York is in the off season, it doesn’t mean that the tough times have paused for Bethenny Frankel. The Skinnygirl founder had a a serious health issue to address after discovering that she has a cancerous skin growth on her face.

In an interview with People, Bethenny discussed her basal cell carcinoma diagnosis. She said, “I had a growth on my face that was enlarging. I guessed it to be a basal cell carcinoma and had it lanced and removed.”

Bethenny also said, “The doctor confirmed it is indeed basal cell carcinoma, a form of skin cancer, and says while it is cancer, I am lucky to have it removed — so it won’t affect my overall health.” Thankfully Bethenny found the growth early enough that she can remove it and take care of the situation.

She revealed, “I am now scheduled to undergo Mohs surgery to remove the cancer, followed immediately by plastic surgery to remove any scarring.”

Big Brother 19 Spoilers: Final Head of Household Competition – Part Two Results

We are down to the final 3 Big Brother 19 players. In less than four days, either Josh Martinez, Christmas Abbott, or Paul Abrahamian will win the game. On Thursday, Paul won the first part of the three part Head of Household competition. This left Christmas and Josh to face off in part two. Whoever wins this part faces off against Paul in the Big Brother 19 finale.

Of course, Paul would prefer if Josh won this part. He wants Josh and him in the finals, and believes Josh takes him over Christmas. Originally, we would have laughed at Paul’s confidence in this Big Brother 19 outcome. However, Josh is starting to have a change of heart.

The only way Christmas might see the final 2 is if she wins it herself. In the past, Big Brother final Head of Household competitions went as followed: the first part is a physical endurance, the second a days memorization and physical activity, and third part is just an A or B choice of what the jury would say. We expected Christmas to not be medically cleared to compete in any of the first two parts.

However, Christmas was allowed to participate in part 1, she just had to be careful about how she rested her foot. Therefore, we fully expect her to participate in part 2. It’s not a complete given that Josh wins part two. Christmas outperformed him in part 1, and she might have her days memorized better than Josh.

If Christmas manages to beat Josh in part two, then it will be interesting to see if she throws the last part to Paul or really tries for it herself.

So who won part 2 of the final Big Brother 19 Head of Household competition?

Josh won the second part of the Head of Household competition. It sounds like a new one, that involved hitting cardboard cutouts of houseguests to pick them as the right answer. It went on for three rounds. Josh beat Christmas by 7 minutes.
