Martina Navratilova is a tennis superstar. But to Bravo fans, she’s best known as Julia Lemigova’s wife and half of the first LGBTQ+ couple ever on Real Housewives of Miami. Martina and Julia are a power couple who like to do things their own way. Martina may not love the cameras or the noise that comes with being a wife of a Real Housewife, but she sure does love Julia.
Julia and Martina are going through a rough patch on Season 5 of RHOM and Larsa Pippen’s rumor mill will no doubt further the strain. But with strong family and very good friends like Adriana de Moura around, the pair will hopefully get through it. It seems like run-of-the-mill marriage growing pains and some recent news will likely put what’s important into perspective when it comes to their relationship.
The tennis superstar and RHOM side character recently revealed some shocking health news. According to tennis.com, Martina has recently been diagnosed with Stage 1 throat cancer and an unrelated early stage of breast cancer. It’s heartbreaking to hear of anyone going through such a major life change. Martina previously conquered a non-invasive breast cancer diagnosis in 2010. However, it can’t be easy to hear the scary “c” word from a doctor yet again.
Despite the news, Martina is keeping positive and striving to get better. She’ll start treatment in January and has a strong prognosis. “This double whammy is serious but still fixable, and I’m hoping for a favorable outcome,” she said. Martina also spoke of being encouraged by other breast cancer survivors to be shown that there is life after being diagnosed with cancer. “It’s going to stink for a while, but I’ll fight with all have I got,” Martina added. If you’ve ever seen her play tennis, you know her determination is undefeatable. Someone as loving as Julia will undoubtedly be right by Martina’s side to support her in this fight. We send love and well wishes to Martina as she works toward recovery, and to her loved ones dealing with the sad news.

There’s no surprise by now that the Real Housewives of Potomac continues to be one of the best cities in the Real Housewives franchise by far. And Season 7 is no different. From the messy green-eyed bandits, Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon stirring up trouble with Wendy Osefo and Mia Thornton, to the shifting alliance between Candiace Dillard-Bassett and Ashley Darby– the Potomac ladies captivates fans because, quite frankly, they give us EVERYTHING. And I do mean everything.
If you remember, the last episode of RHOP featured Robyn and Juan Dixon having an extremely uncomfortable conversation about signing a prenup for their wedding that never will be still hasn’t happened yet, despite getting engaged over two years ago. Ashley showcased more of her complicated soon-to-be divorce from that creep of a man, Michael Darby. And things really took a turn when the ladies questioned Mia and Jacqueline Blake (former long-time besties) about their very detailed sexual past together. Both Mia and Jacqueline remained tight-lipped; however, this is Potomac we’re talking about, and I’m certain the ladies will get to the bottom of this. Unless Mia or Jacqueline spill all of the tea themselves. Here are the five main takeaways from the most recent RHOP episode, “Mic Drop.”
This week’s episode wasted no time getting right to the juicy details about Mia and Jacqueline. The scene was incredibly awkward. Gordon Thornton, Mia’s husband, lingered in the background out of place (sort of like whenever Ray Huger appears on my screen), which led me to believe that there is definitely more to this trio’s complicated relationship than what is being shared with the rest of the group.
However, to my surprise, Jacqueline reassured viewers that their friendship has never been sexual and the three of them combined are nothing more than friends. But what really got me is when Jacqueline told the world that Gordon helped her put a payment down on her Porsche when she first got it.
HUH? Was that supposed to be shared? The look on Gordon’s face and his apprehension to respond led me to think it wasn’t. And now, I definitely have questions. But we’re just going to let that one sit in the vault for a little until it reaches the rest of the group cause when it does, I just know it’ll be worth the wait.
Mia, Gizelle, and Robyn all met up for a nice mid-day meal and, of course, wasted no time spilling the tea. Gizelle relayed the message back to Mia that Karen shared with her, Ashley, and Robyn that Mia has channeled her inner “Jacques Clouseau” at one point and inspected the inside of Jacqueline’s most intimate body part. Karen also carried the bone that Mia fooled around with Peter Thomas’ girlfriend the night before her wedding.
WHAT!? It’s starting to get just a tad bit weird here. Not for me, but for Mia and Gordon.
By now, we know that Gordon enjoys playing with other women, and Mia likes to watch. We also know that Mia likes to share, as she’s given one of her boyfriends to Jacqueline to test drive at one point because, hey, what are friends for, right? At this point, I can’t say I’m shocked because Mia is a wild card — you never know what you’ll get with her. Ever. But the fact that she’s honest and owns every part of her story I can appreciate. And that’s what makes her a great Housewife.

After hearing that private details about her sex life were now floating around the group, Mia told some of the ladies how upset she was with Karen. Do I see her side? Yes. Did she make the mistake of revealing too much to one of her co-stars while filming a reality show? Also yes. Because now, it’s fair game.
During Karen’s live show, during a Q&A session, Mia grabbed the microphone and confronted her in front of her audience about her lack of loyalty. But we know the Grand Dame never crumbles (per her Season 4 tagline), and she owned up to it, which was a major surprise to me. However, since Karen was in the middle of “hosting” her show, the conversation was halted. But will it end there? Of course not! We’re just getting started.
Earlier in the season, Ashley and Candiace got into a pretty heated argument over the allegations about Chris Bassett. Yes, we all know that Gizelle has said Chris made her “uncomfortable” during the RHOP Season 6 reunion and told the entire cast about it. When Candiace found out, she didn’t take the news too well — rightfully so. But where it reached a tipping point is when Ashley also said that she has friends that Chris may have been a little too friendly with as well.
During this week’s episode, Ashley met up with her inner circle, whom she likes to call her “PYTs,” and also invited Gizelle as well. There, Gizelle pressed Ashley’s friend Deborah to explain more about her interaction with Chris. Deborah told the ladies that during Karen’s “Spring Fling” event in the season premiere, Chris (and Eddie Osefo) were extremely “flirtatious.” She shared how Chris lingered and inched closer to her at the bar. Although nothing salacious happened, the vibe she gave off was that Chris and Eddie were around flirting with everybody BUT their wives. Now, if that was indeed the case, I have no idea, but from what was shown in the episode, Chris (and Eddie) are social beings that enjoy conversing with people. What’s so wrong with that?
Either way, now that Deborah gave this piece of information to Gizelle and Ashley about Chris and Eddie, it definitely had to make its way back to Candiace and Wendy and, ultimately, the group.
Deborah attended Karen’s live show as Ashley’s plus-one. Initially, it seemed like Candiace wasn’t aware of Deborah’s presence at their table or even among their group. But when Robyn informed her that she was the one spreading rumors about Chris, Candiace’s energy totally changed.
As the event was coming to an end, Candiace confronted Deborah about her comments, and surprisingly, Deborah held her own. She reiterated that she felt Chris was being “flirty,” but outside of that, nothing else was really accomplished during their conversation.
Ashley tried to mediate another convo between Candiace and Deborah, but Candiace, who continued to refer to Deborah as a “Sesame Street” character, was not interested in the slightest. Candiace (who has already had a rocky season because of her beef with Gizelle) shut that conversation down quickly, and quite frankly, I don’t know if a sit-down between the two of them will ever happen since she’s not a credited cast member on the show. However, I’m SURE there is more to come between Ashley, Gizelle, and Candiace.

Have you heard about the new Karen-for-hire business? They offer Twitter rebellion, complaint letters, and “super villainy.” I have a theory they based their business plan off Tamra Judge and Meghan King’s slick takedown of Vicki Gunvalson over the course of three Real Housewives of Orange County seasons. Whatever you want to say about Meg now that she’s off the show, I still believe she’s the original Bravo Karen we all needed and deserved.
Since her time on the show, Meghan made her way through a divorce, a new marriage, and yet another divorce. Over the holidays, she took to social media to share her most recent co-parenting drama with anyone who cares. As someone deeply invested in Bravo-herstory, that includes me.
Meghan used her Instagram Stories to seemingly complain about her ex-husband, Jimmy Edmonds, and his new wife Kortnie O’Connor. Initially, Meghan posted a story that read, “When you share kids on holidays, you make up your own Christmas Day! It’s the 26th but it’s our Christmas morning!” Hours later, she followed it up with a longer statement on the family court system overall, per Reality Blurb!
“There’s so much more to this story that I’m not choosing to share. Keeping this high level to promote awareness that the family court system is failing the single parent (typically the person in my place is the single mother who makes less money but has more custody,)” Meghan said. “Other people being jerked around by the family law system, this one is for YOU and YOU and YOU.”
Meghan shares three children with Jim. Their daughter Aspen (6), and twin sons Hayes and Hart (4). Apparently, Meghan doesn’t feel that her three kids are being respected by everyone surrounding them for the holidays. “I won’t shut up until I believe my children are respected and safe, and so is their mother,” she wrote.

“Mothers in this situation are unable to focus on mothering [because] of this nonsense. IT NEEDS TO END. No one stands up for the most important person in their life: arguably their mother. If I don’t fight, who will?”
Meghan clarified that her comments were made in regard to photos of her kids being taken and shared publicly on the internet. “I’m talking about exercising my ability to control who, what, and how my children are posted on the internet,” she continued. “No one but immediate family has my permission, NO ONE! Not any of my nannies, sitters, friends, schools, or camps have permission. If my coparent disagrees, I have the legal right to make the tie-breaking decision,” Meghan added.
Meghan’s posts came only hours after Kortnie shared a slideshow of family photos that included Aspen, Hayes, and Hart.
Meghan even included a poll in one of her Instagram posts. It showed that 97 percent of her followers agree that she should have control over who can share images of her children publicly. What do you think?

Welcome to 2023, readers! The holidays were as lovely (and stressful) as usual but of course that means no new shows for a few weeks. I definitely missed my Real Housewives, especially given where everything was left off. I spent my free time rewatching old seasons of Real Housewives of New Jersey and well, it did help fill the void. But there is nothing quite like a fresh week of reality TV so here’s what I’m watching this week.
After suffering through Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon’s attempt at a podcast live show, the Real Housewives of Potomac is now pivoting back to personal messiness. Mia Thornton has been the subject of rumors since she got here last year. But this season, the arrival of her absolutely dehydrated friend Jacqueline Blake, has just upped the ante. Instead of worrying about Mia’s money in the bank, the ladies want to know what exactly is the nature of their relationship. It’s a fair question, given that Mia has opened the door by some of the things she has alluded to. But it’s also not that innovative or exciting. Real Housewives has done the whole bisexual did-they-or-didn’t-they before. I guess what makes this one unique is that in the next episode, Mia is planning on confronting Karen Huger about sharing whatever info she gave her on the matter. At Karen’s live show. I bet Karen didn’t have that scheduled but it will probably add some much needed entertainment value for her guests.

For the last few years, Bravo has increasingly escalated the “to be continued…” at the end of an episode. Even when it’s not necessary. What would have made for a great “to be continued” on previous episodes of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City was nothing short of a let down. Punctuating her fall from fan favorite, Heather Gay revealed her much anticipated black eye. The following episode, she refused to talk about it. As in, flat out refused. Then dropped cryptic hints or rather, non hints. I’m not sure who to blame more in this scenario – Heather or the producers. But if you’re going to tease the hell out of a possible physical incident amongst cast members, at least have the decency to tell us what happened. My theory is that the recipient of Heather’s Ride or Die Award, Jen Shah, might have gotten a little out of control that night. But Heather is protecting her given her legal circumstances. Another theory that’s been floating around is that Heather got bad botox pre-trip. Fans on Reddit are busy piecing together all the clues so I’m just going to leave it to them. Because I doubt this next episode is going to give us any answers.

Whew! I am still quaking over the last few episodes of Real Housewives of Miami. Their fifth season really has brought us vintage Real Housewives drama with an updated storyline about what it means to be a kept woman. The cast is actively watching Lisa Hochstein’s marriage fall apart right in front of their eyes. Did I say fall apart? I meant IMPLODE. Husband Lenny Hochstein is not even trying to hide his alleged affair with a much younger replacement. And Lisa has no choice but to cry to her friends. While Larsa Pippen wants everyone who is not divorced to keep their advice to themselves, Guerdy Abraira refuses, and has the face work to prove it. Which is something that Alexia Echevarria has apparently had enough of. Lisa cries to her once unforgiving mother-in-law about how cruel Lenny is being. And surprisingly (although it shouldn’t be), Mama Lenny has taken Lisa’s side. After the harrowing tale of Lisa confronting Lenny’s new girlfriend at the nightclub emerge, it looks like this divorce is only going to get worse. And just in case you thought Lisa was exaggerating her story, there is video proof making the rounds on social media. Buckle up, fans!

I started watching the fourth season of the series mid-December when it premiered on Netflix. And to my dismay, Netflix was only releasing a few episode of Too Hot To Handle at a time. But all of the episodes have been released and a winner of the prize pot will be named. If you haven’t finished – all is yet to be revealed. There are many twists and turns in the game of short-term relationships on an island full of hot and horny people. But there is room for redemption and some of the cast has seemingly taken it (for now). Will Seb remain faithful to Kayla and form a deeper connection? Will Ethan find anyone to connect with? Is Flavia going to find someone to steal? And the most important question of all – how much money is left in the prize pot after all their debauchery?
All ten episodes are streaming now on Netflix.
While this documentary isn’t new (it debuted on Netflix in October), I am somehow just hearing about it. It’s the story about Nicole Daedone and her company OneTaste. Identified as a sexual wellness company, Nicole and One Taste promised her following a 15-minute female orgasm. Yes, 15 minutes. And with it, women who also achieve spiritual enlightenment. I mean I would hope so if I’m going to spend that much time on “orgasmic meditation.” Given that Nicole was working predominately with techies in San Francisco, she was raking it in with her promises. But like so many unconventional companies offering the world, there was something much darker going on at OneTaste. The doc focuses on the fight to get answers during an FBI investigation for claims of sex trafficking, prostitution and violations of labor law. Just a content warning – the documentary covers sensitive topics such as sexual abuse and suicide. Please skip this one if these are topics you find triggering.

Sometimes the best thing about a Real Housewives episode comes courtesy of a “guest” and not a member of the core cast. Over the years fans have been subjected to a plethora of interesting characters with an abundance of personality that leaves us either curious or absolutely wanting more.
Whether it’s flying directly into someone’s face, doing hair, or desperately trying to become a cast member – here are some great additions to the franchise who were brief, but made an impression on viewers.
Former Real Housewives of Potomac star Monique Samuels left quite an impression on the Bravo fandom. You either love her or despise her and there doesn’t appear to be a lot of room in between. While Monique battled her formidable cast members, she kicked off Season 5 with a new addition to her family that she did not give birth to. T’Challa Samuels was a Congo African Grey and instantly became a fan favorite thanks to the RHOP editors. T’Challa was given snarky lines and quips via production and Monique took him everywhere. T’Challa’s favorite outside of Monique was Karen Huger, who preferred to admire T’Challa from a distance. During Dr. Wendy Osefo’s second season, she experienced a life-changing moment when T’Challa launched himself directly at her during a squabble amongst the ladies. Sadly, T’Challa faced an untimely demise when he was involved in a “freak accident” which Monique declined to clarify.
Lawrence Washington, sometimes known as “Miss Lawrence,” first gained notoriety as Shereé Whitfield’s confidante and hairstylist on Real Housewives of Atlanta. Jennifer Holiday, Ciara, and Serena Williams are just a few of Miss Lawrence’s famous clients. Miss L isn’t just a celebrity hair stylist. He is now the proud proprietor of his own self-titled salon in Buckhead, Georgia. Miss Lawrence spends his free time working the Atlanta social scene and developing his music career. In 2015 he appeared on Empire and in 2016, Lee Daniels’ The United States vs. Billie Holiday. Who knew when we saw Miss Lawrence doing his impressions of the RHOA cast in Season 6, episode 23 he would be destined for greatness? Bravo fans knew.
Real Housewives of New Jersey has no shortage of crazy interesting side characters. Kim Granatell came on the scene in Seasons 2 and 3 of RHONJ and managed to glom onto Jacqueline Laurita and Danielle Staub, depending on who had the most camera time. Kim G. could always be counted on to stir up some drama, from making everyone giggle with her booty-short effort at pole dancing to the explosive end of her friendship with BFF Square Tits Danielle. But after Kim G. left in 2011, her life kind of circled the drain. She struggled with navigating beyond reality television after her spouse filed for divorce. Then she made a bad situation worse by briefly dating Michael Lohan. If nothing else, Kim G. can sleep well at night knowing she went down in history as one of Andy Cohen’s favorite side characters.
Bravo’s true enigma is Real Housewives of Miami and I refuse to hear anything different. This is the only franchise where Andy Cohen called 911 after it was cancelled and brought it back to life. But according to Andy, one of the main reasons RHOM was wished to the cornfield was the death of Marysol Patton’s mother, the iconic Elsa Patton. Known to fans as Mama Elsa, she was a mystic, a woman of the world, and television was not ready for such a woman of class and sophistication. There were even talks of a Mama Elsa spin-off which never came to fruition. Sadly, Elsa passed away in 2019 after battling a long illness. On current episodes of RHOM, you can still tell Marysol is suffering from the loss. While Mama Elsa no longer graces our television screens, she lives on in reruns and will remain living rent free in Andy’s brain forever.
No one made an entrance like Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Lisa Vanderpump and Giggy Vanderpump. The former star of RHOBH was never far from her four-legged little buddy and despite Giggy’s diminutive size, he was large and in charge. Giggy attended formal dinners, much to Adrienne Maloof’s dismay. He was a world traveler, and he was Lisa’s constant, well-dressed companion. Giggy was the first non-human member of the Bravo family that truly made an impression and gained a wide fanbase. He was a tiny dude with a big personality and a wardrobe that probably cost more than what I paid for my car. Whether he was dressed in velvet or a delicate satin, Giggy’s royal feet barely touched the ground when Lisa or Ken Todd were around. Giggy suffered from alopecia, a condition which caused his hair to fall out and his extravagant outfits were often necessary to keep him from becoming a shivering mess. Unfortunately, Giggy’s time on Earth ended in December 2020, with Lisa’s devastating announcement of his passing. While it is incredibly difficult to recover from any loss, a pet loss can often be as significant as a human family member. Lisa and Ken established their rescue foundation Vanderpump Dogs as a result of having the Gigster. “He inspired us to start our work in rescue, and for that we will always be grateful. Giggy’s legacy will live on, through every dog @vanderpumpdogs saves,” Lisa stated in an Instagram post.

Miley Cyrus is teaming up with her real-life godmother, country legend Dolly Parton, for the second edition of Miley's New...As you might know, the Kardashian family is pretty much a master class on exactly how not to handle a relationship or a significant other. Seriously, look to these ladies on how to order a salad but definitely avoid them in the event you are seeking assistance with someone you love.
So it wasn’t a huge surprise to anyone when the Keeping Up With The Kardashian alum’s marriage to Kanye West failed. It’s safe to say someone in this family made a deal with the devil and clearly the trade-off is never being able to choose a decent man. Aside from that, Kanye has some issues and the family might be more pressed about maintaining status than getting someone proper medical assistance.
One thing leads to another, meds aren’t taken, and someone is bound to publicly spiral – again. After public threats, hysterical ramblings, crying at events, and ill-advised political pursuits, poor Kim Kardashian is afraid no one will like her because of the way Kanye is allowed to act. Because you aren’t a good sycophant if you’re trying to help!
Kimberly found herself on the Angie Martinez IRL podcast discussing her future ex-boyfriends and Page Six shared the scoop. She said, “There’s a part of me that is like, ‘Oh my God, is everyone gonna be scared because I don’t have the easiest ex?’” Give me a break, “not the easiest ex“? You mean the ex that threatens people? And y’all are far too consumed with reputations to help this man who is in desperate need of medical attention?
Kim continued, “I don’t think that’s fair for me to ever put someone in a situation or bring a new person in who could be super innocent. Then there’s a side of me that’s like, ‘Why would I ever have to live that way?'” she added. I have two words– restraining order. Then Kim started to cry over Kanye’s shitty reputation, because she is personally harmed by his anti-semitic remarks and incredibly stupid choices. “It’s really f–king hard,” she confessed.
I hope she can find comfort in her sad-beige home decor and move on with her life, instead of continuing to watch it play out in the media and doing nothing. Funny though, Kim is worried about what her next crap boyfriend will think. Maybe she should be worried about her kids. Kanye made headlines this year for producing “White Lives Matter” clothing, spewing a barrage of hateful comments, and allegedly showing naked pics of Kim to ex-employees.
Despite all of that, Kim chirps that she’s in the “fun zone” of being single, other than the occasional intrusive thought that Kanye is hiding in the bushes ready to scare off potential suitors, or, you know, hurt someone. She does not know if she will ever get married again but plans on having fun in the interim. Heads up to anyone considering contacting Kim for a night on the town! In a new interview with People, Teresa revealed she only recently started watching RHONJ this past year thanks to the drama with Melissa Gorga and Joe Gorga.
“I’m watching the show for the first time because I never watched it before. And if you pay attention, when I was at the reunions, Andy Cohen would ask me questions and I wouldn’t know what he was talking about.” She added, “Everybody knew I was not watching the show.”
After all the tea spilled this past summer and the new trailer for RHONJ Season 13 dropped, Teresa said, “I just wanted to educate myself and to see what my brother and sister-in-law were saying about me.”
“I’ve been seeing all this on Instagram, these accounts that are posting past episodes. And I’m watching and I’m like, ‘My brother said that? My sister-in-law said that?’ So then I started watching and I’m like, ‘Now, I got my answer,'” she said.
Teresa, Joe, and Melissa will have quite the season this year as they battle against each other in what appears to be their most intense fight yet. Teresa said she couldn’t watch the earlier seasons when they first aired because reliving it was too hard. Now she’s ready to face it head-on.
“But I couldn’t watch it [initially] because it was so hard for me to relive it. And good thing I didn’t watch it back then, because now I’m seeing what my brother and my sister-in-law was saying about me back then, oh my God. It was like a knife right through my heart,” Teresa stated. “I think I would’ve reacted differently if I would’ve watched the show,” she added.
Despite Tre’s declaration that she hasn’t watched the show in the past, that’s not stopping Melissa from voicing her own opinions. She stated recently that Teresa not watching the show “makes zero sense.”
However, thanks to revelations from former producers of the show, we now know Melissa can’t be trusted as she’s lied about how she’s gotten on the show for a decade now. And from how Teresa’s talking, it sounds like she’s still not over it.
“It’s been hard since my family came on [the show],” she revealed. “I never signed up to be on a TV show with my family. This was my thing. I was excited about it. It was something new for me, and it was like my job, and I was excited, and then all of a sudden I get bombarded and ambushed by my family,” Teresa said. “And it was very sad, because I felt like my dream kind of got shattered.”
Teresa said that she “kept the peace” while her parents were alive, and “now I have closure.” The RHONJ OG said she’s “living in my truth” and refuses to “accept this toxicity.” She also vowed to “protect my family.”

“I come from a small family and we were really close. And then for something like this to happen, it was really hard for me to deal with,” she explained. “I always tried to keep the peace and that’s why I kept my mouth shut for a lot of years. But now… I’m going to do what’s good for my family, good for me, good for my children. And I just want peace. And that’s why any toxicity, [I have to] keep it out,” Teresa finished.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey returns on February 7, 2022 at 9 p.m. on Bravo, and I CAN’T WAIT. Now that Teresa and Melissa clearly aren’t pretending to like each other any longer, I’m hoping that means Tre is clocked in and will give us fantastic tv. My fingers are crossed.
