90 Day Fiance Alums Anny Springs And Robert Springs Announce The Death Of Their Baby Boy

Reality TV shows, depending on the authenticity of their production team, hold a mirror up to real life.  The good, the bad, and the ugly.  They serve as mindless entertainment, and the public can’t get enough.  90 Day Fiance, in particular, provides a unique blend of cultural clashes, everyday issues, and relationship strife.  Fans get heavily absorbed in all the drama, choose sides, and enjoy the entertaining chaos. It’s mostly all in good fun.

Sadly, 90 Day Fiance alums are not immune to the sorrows of life.  Though their tenure on the show may be over, reality stars maintain a following on social media.  So when tragedy strikes, alums still get a ton of support from those that enjoyed watching them on the series.

Earlier this week, Robert Springs and Anny Springs announced that their 7-month-old son Adriel passed away. People reported that the grieving mother shared the tragic news on her Instagram Thursday.  She wrote, “Today is one of the worst days of my life, my son Adriel Spring died, I am devastated and my family…life is so hard and difficult.”

The couple refrained from sharing any further info, though Anny implied that Adriel had a medical issue.  She continued, “I never thought I would lose my son.  He was a fighter… his heart couldn’t take it… my heart is broken it’s a big pain… so difficult.”

Fans and other 90 Day Fiance stars flooded Anny’s Instagram with messages of love.  Amira Lollysa wrote, “I’m so incredibly sorry my friend! I wish I could take your pain away.”

Colt Johnson’s mother Debbie Johnson posted, “Omg, I can’t believe this.  I am so very sorry.  Words can not express the sadness that I feel for you guys and your family.  I’m absolutely devastated.  If I can do anything please let me know.  Just remember that you guys need to be there for each other.  This is just so very sad.  My love and prayers are with you.”

90 Day Fiance: Before The 90 Days star Akinyi Obala added, “My sincere condolences.  I’m so sorry.  Sending you lots of love.  I pray for you and your family.”

Robert and Anny shared their incredible journey on Season 7 of the hit reality TV series.  After getting engaged within 8 hours of meeting Robert, the Dominican Republic native emigrated to the United States to join her love and his son from a previous relationship.

They defied 90 Day Fiance odds and are still together.  Robert and Anny are loving parents to a 20-month-old daughter named Brenda Aaliyah, and welcomed Adriel in September 2021.  At the time of his birth, Anny called Adriel her “prince” and captioned his picture with, “I thank God that he took care of me and everything went well.  Mamabear, mama in love.”

Below Deck Down Under Recap: Prom Night At Thalassa High

We’ve reached the all-too-familiar point in this season of Below Deck Down Under where everyone’s starting to get on each other’s nerves. Benny Crawley has little respect for Jamie Sayed‘s leadership as bosun. Aesha Scott and Chef Ryan McKeown can’t stand each other. And cracks are even starting to form in Aehsa’s “friends first” management style with Magda Ziomek. But worst of all is Jamie basically choosing to rebel against Captain Jason Chambers‘ authority. After all, te bosun has no qualms about undermining the captain, calling the deck team together to tell them point blank to listen to him over Jason.

At the same time, Chef Ryan‘s down in the galley whipping up his idea of a “pasta extravaganza.” After the guests complained earlier about not having enough food, he’s determined to overcompensate. And that means he’s making rigatoni bolognese, mushroom risotto, vodka penne, spinach and ricotta agnolotti, semolina polenta and seafood linguini. The only problem is that….none of it’s very good. The risotto is bland. The guests ask for more garlic. Plus, it doesn’t actually solve the complaint of wanting a balanced meal with, oh, I don’t know, side dishes or something. Who would want four kinds of pasta, risotto and polenta for dinner? Another fail by Ryan.

After dinner, two of the guests decide to stay up and hit the hot tub. And that’s when the massive amounts of pasta start hitting them with major ramifications. Yes, I can’t believe I’m even typing this, but I’m talking about about one of the guests throwing up in the hot tub. Absolutely revolting. Magda and Benny are up on night shift, and it takes the pair a second to realize that they’re looking at bits of vomit bubbling in the jets. No, Madga, it’s not leaves from the mojitos. As the deckhand, it’s up to poor Benny to drain the jacuzzi and then fish out the vomit using a kitchen strainer. First the overflowing toilets, now this. I truly couldn’t do it if I was him.

Early the next morning, the scent of throw up is still lingering in the hot tub. And tension starts building between Aesha and Magda when the chief stew starts offering completely unsolicited advice about the third stew’s long-distance relationship. (She overheard Magda and her Polish boyfriend Maciek arguing over FaceTime and took the opportunity to point out how perfect her own relationship apparently is by comparison.) It’s been slowly building, but Magda’s starting to feel a little bit judged by her boss. Not only in her romantic life, but also in the smallest of duties, like making an almond latte. Or serving breakfast without tongs. Or, you know, like, texting on the job.

below deck down under recap season 1 episode 8 aesha scott scuba diving great barrier reef

Aesha may be coming down harder on Magda, but she’s getting her own reward from Captain Jason: a scuba diving excursion in the Great Barrier Reef. It’s the first time this season that guests have requested scuba diving instead of snorkeling. And the chief stew got her certification on her last boat, so she’s in luck. Chef Ryan chafes at the special treatment, considering he, too, is scuba certified but wasn’t invited. And that’s not his only complaint, either. The guests have requested a prom-themed party for their second night. And they want to take members of the crew as their dates. So Aesha lets the guests draw crew members’ names out of a hat, but excludes Ryan because, well, someone still needs to cook dinner. But I totally get that feeling left out is never fun. Even if Ryan’s still the worst.

The deck team, meanwhile, is continuing to struggle on this charter. Captain Jason wants the deckhands to start thinking ahead. So he’s pushing them as a way of motivating them to step up. But little, annoying mistakes keep happening. Like him having to ask Culver Bradbury and Brittini Burton to empty out the tender. Or Brittini not knowing how to pick up the port-side anchor. (Hint: she grabbed the starboard remote.) And in Captain Jason’s eyes, all of this falls on Jamie‘s shoulders as an insufficient leader. How are they still making such rookie mistakes?

below deck down under recap season 1 episode 8 benny crawley aesha scott culver bradbury jamie sayed tumi mhlongo prom

It’s time for prom! And somehow, Aesha‘s managed to rustle up actual prom dresses for herself, Brittini, Madga and Tumi Mhlongo for the night. The female deckhand is particularly thrilled at the theme of the night because apparently, she never went to prom in high school. Less enthused is Chef Ryan, who’s stuck in the galley hearing everyone else having fun upstairs. And to add insult to injury, Captain Jason even goes down to the galley to ask the chef to come take a picture of everyone else in with their prom dates. Ouch.

Unlike a traditional prom though, the crew still has to serve the guests after all the pictures and corsages. So while Tumi‘s downstairs cleaning cabins in a dress, Captain Jason‘s the only one who gets to sit down for dinner with the guests. And he’s not all that impressed by what Chef Ryan‘s serving. This time, it’s not so much the flavors but the overall presentation of the food. The guests requested an Asian feast. But the duck buns are essentially finger food. The bok choy’s served in a bowl. It’s all very confusing and not all that cohesive. Thank goodness the prom-goers are distracted by the afterparty Aesha throws on the sun deck.

below deck down under recap season 1 episode 8 magda ziomek

The next morning, it’s the final day of the charter. And Aesha wakes up to a total mess from the night before. Not only is all the prom decor still strewn all over the boat, the laundry room is a disaster too. Magda‘s seriously dropped the ball. To the point that Captain Jason‘s even noticed. He’s also noticed Chef Ryan‘s habit of serving up the bare minimum. But the arrogant chef couldn’t care less about whatever constructive criticism the captain, i.e. his boss, has to offer. He’s not here to cook up Instagram-worthy food. Or apparently make any salads. And he’s sticking to his ways.

After a breakfast of French toast, it’s time for the guests to leave. And on his way out, the primary’s only criticism is…the food. Because of course it is. At the tip meeting, Captain Jason points out that every single department has room for major improvement. But the crew still earned a tip of $16,230 dollars. And the captain awards the disco dunce cap of the charter to Magda. In a follow-up debrief for the interior, the third stew claims she’s improving charter after charter. But Aesha specifically calls out the captain’s issues with what’s happening in the laundry room. And no matter how delicately she chooses her words, the message is received. It’s all Magda’s fault. And she’s officially over it.

Survivor 42 Episode 8 Recap: The Need For Speed

First things first: No, you didn’t miss an episode or a Recap of Survivor…this week was actually “Episode 8.”  Last week’s two-hour episode (a great, great night of Survivor, by the way) was actually “Episode 6” and “Episode 7” according to the CBS episode run-down, so no worries if you don’t see any Recaps here for a seemingly missing “Episode 7.”

With that out of the way, what did you all think? For what seemed to ultimately be an obvious vote-out ended up being another pretty solid episode. How the greatest physical competitor the game has ever seen – yes, I think Jonathan fits this description – is not everyone’s number one target is a giant surprise and a testament to his equally impressive social game. Apparently ole “Goliath” wasn’t the one everyone should have been worried about during these Individual Immunity Challenges. Instead, it has been Tori – the game’s only contestant that at this point would fit the “villain” description – who has so far won both of the two individual challenges they’ve competed in.

Yes Tori, who so far has been the one player that fans have loved to hate, who found herself immune for a second time, and for a second time, not really holding any true power. Her portrayal aside, Tori has proven to be a real “survivor” in this game, having been the intended target numerous times and yet, somehow, someway, she has found herself in the jury-phase of this game and still alive-and-kicking. She does have some good in-game awareness, although it didn’t take her being a rocket scientist to literally catch Drea red-handed this episode. How did Drea not get all of that paint off of her? That seems like an unforced error that could end up leading to Drea’s downfall. I have been one of the biggest Drea fans since the very first episode, and she is in an incredible position of power in this game not just because of her social game and the alliances she has made, but because of the enormous collection of advantages she has amassed thus far. She has one of the three amulets (a twist that has thus far manifested as a nothing-burger), an Immunity Idol, an Extra Vote, and now possesses the coveted “Knowledge is Power” advantage. You may remember that it was used unsuccessfully back in Season 41, but the circumstances were different then. Drea’s new advantage is SO powerful due to the fact that Drea did not appear to share it with anyone, and because it was a new power introduced last season and nobody on this season was able to see Survivor 41, nobody can even imagine this advantage or possibly see it coming. Add to this that the other Idols in the game are common knowledge – with Maryanne and Mike both having one – so Drea knows exactly where to look to get yet another Idol for herself.

In case you missed it, this “Knowledge is Power” advantage allows Drea to ask a question to anyone else, where the person must tell the truth. If she asks if they have an Idol or if they have an advantage, if they say yes, then they must turn it over to Drea right then and there. Imagine the chaos this will cause at some point if used effectively. If Drea can somehow outlast Hai and Lindsay (the other two possessors of the amulet), her amulet would then also become an Idol. That gives Drea potentially THREE weeks of safety with just ten players left, and she would still have an Extra Vote to play with. Has anybody been in the driver’s seat more securely than Drea?

Ah, but as we heard at Tribal Council this week, it’s not all about whose in the driver’s seat…it’s about knowing when to take the wheel and when to let someone else take a spin.

For Chanelle, she admitted in her final confessional that she had basically been ran-over…that she was not playing at the proper speed and others were blazing right past her, strategically speaking. But Chanelle was in a lose-lose situation this week. I thought it was actually her best move to lay low and stay calm…heck, it almost worked and allowed Romeo to nearly sink his own game. But had Chanelle pushed down on the gas pedal a bit harder than she did, she would have still been the obvious target. Her days were numbered after losing all trust earlier in the game, and fell victim to Mike‘s persistence. At least the way the episode was edited, it looked like there was a good push to get rid of Romeo but that Mike basically saved his butt. I’m only a bit surprised that the “shot-in-the-dark” wasn’t played by either or both Chanelle and Romeo, since they both felt like they were the target…and on the off-chance that they BOTH would have played their shot-in-the-dark and BOTH would have been successful? It would have been Romeo’s lone vote that would have sent Hai out of the game! Now that would have been a crazy route for this game to have taken.

But in the end, it went the way it was all supposed to go. So where does that leave Romeo? He’s on the outs, and I think it might be a mistake for Drea to shun him so blatantly. Yes Romeo has grown overly paranoid, to the point where he has become an easy target, so I understand why Drea would want to distance herself from that. But why not keep him close on the down-low? Is it too risky a move for Drea? I guess there are some cons, but having Romeo on her side would not hurt down the stretch. He’s an extra number, and is actually a sound strategist when he’s thinking clearly. It’ll be interesting to see how the Drea/Romeo dynamic plays out.

We see that next week holds another massive twist: Two people will win Immunity but two will go home. How exactly will the voting work? Will there be two distinct Tribal Councils? We shall find out, but as we close out April’s batch of episodes following next week, we’ll be down to just eight remaining contestants, and there’s no sign that the momentum this season has generated is slowing down.

Episode Take-Away: Another good ep on the heels of an epic two-hour night. While the vote-out ended up being expected, there was a lot of good stuff that led up to it. Drea is becoming the front-runner, but man I can’t believe Jonathan is still being allowed to continue in this game. Tori seems to still be the most likely person to be voted out once she isn’t immune at Tribal, but if she can just hang in there long enough, she might end up finding herself in that “swing vote” position among two warring factors in the game. Heck, she’s made it out of so many tough spots thus far, I’m starting to think that she can pull off a deep run. And speaking of a deep-run, do you know a player that absolutely NO ONE is talking about? Lindsay. Fans of the show might point out that she hasn’t exactly been given that “winner’s edit,” but last season’s winner Erika didn’t have a traditional “winner’s edit” either. Lindsay is given a bit of air-time each and every week, and nobody at all is targeting her. Plus, she has that massive hulk Jonathan as a pretty steady meat-shield. She may need to make a big move or two down the stretch to bolster her Survivor resumé, but keep an eye on her! And then there’s Omar, a guy who absolutely has his hands all over this game, who is influencing decisions left and right, and who is also a guy that absolutely nobody is currently worried about. Could Omar be the dark horse to win this thing? And I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention Mike, another guy who is so well-liked and who is such as straight-shooter, it’s hard to believe he’s already made it this far. It is not common for a guy like Mike to make it so far in the game, and for nobody else to be buzzing about voting him out. He’s the “old guy” on a tribe of bigger targets, yet we saw tonight that he also has massive influence. Can Mike win?

I’m still rooting for Jonathan to win his way to the end in unprecedented fashion, but he’ll have to survive next week’s double-elimination in order to make my dreams come true.

Erik Reichenbach DabuDoodles Art. How about a standing ovation for Erik Reichenbach? His original art from last week, “Catching a Ride to Applebees,” was one of his best and most popular works. In case you didn’t know, each week Erik contributes a brand-new, original piece of artwork relating to the new week’s episode. It will appear here usually in the days after the show’s airing, so if his latest work does not appear here now, check back usually by the weekend following an episode and give this page a refresh. All of Erik’s work as well as his “Catching a Ride to Applebees” piece can be found and purchased on his site, DabuDoodles.com, and I urge you to support this amazingly talented former Survivor player!

Out this week: Chanelle

Won Immunity: Tori (2)

  • Hai – Amulet (current power: 1 extra vote if all three are played)
  • Maryanne – 1 Immunity Idol, 1 Extra Vote

Selling Sunset Is Filming Their First-Ever Reunion For Season 5

Season 5 of Selling Sunset is right around the corner, and this season is about to be bigger than ever. Everything is elevated this season — the houses, the egos, and the drama. In fact, there’s so much happening this time around that for the first time ever, they’re filming a reunion special.

E! News revealed all the details about the upcoming Selling Sunset reunion, which is set to film on April 24, just two days after the season 5 premiere. Although this reunion seems like the perfect gig for Andy Cohen, he must have been busy that day because Tan France, the fashion expert from Queer Eye, will host Selling Sunset’s first-ever reunion. Of course, we’re used to seeing Tan do the feel-good makeovers on Queer Eye. So we’ll have to see if he has what it takes to ask all of the burning, juicy questions that we expect from a reality TV reunion.

Either way, there should be plenty to discuss at the season 5 reunion. This season, we have Mary Fitzgerald stepping up into her new position as a manager in the office, and surprise, surprise, she’s workplace beefing with Christine Quinn. In the season 5 trailer, Mary warns Christine that she needs to stop “disrespecting the other agents” if she wants a future in the Oppenheim office. Meanwhile, Christine buddies up with the newest cast member, Chelsea Lazkani, and the pair seem keen on becoming the untried queen bees of the office.

Perhaps the most significant thing to chat about at the reunion is the love affair between Chrishell Stause and Jason Oppenheim. The two had a whirlwind romance last year splitting up at the end of 2021. Although it didn’t work out in the long run, having a showmance with the boss caused some friction with the other agents, and they’re going to have to talk about it at this reunion.

With Selling Sunset greenlit for at least two more seasons and its two spinoffs underway, it will be interesting to see if the end of the season reunion becomes a franchise staple or just a one-off for when there’s a lot of drama to discuss. Let’s see how it goes!

TELL US – ARE YOU GOING TO BE TUNING IN TO SEASON 5 OF SELLING SUNSET? HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THE SHOW HAVING ITS FIRST REUNION? DO YOU THINK TAN FRANCE WILL MAKE A GOOD HOST?

Real Housewives Of Potomac’s Ashley Darby Confirms Separation From Michael Darby

Love and (cold) coffee. Ashley Darby has been a staple of Real Housewives of Potomac since the beginning. Smart, cunning and as shady as they come, Ashley quickly polarized fans. But one thing everyone seemed to agree on was that her husband, Michael Darby, was the worst. Already married, they came as a packaged deal going into the show. But by the end of the first season, Ashley already had to defend him against talks of inappropriate behavior.

Throughout their marriage, Ashley would continue to stand by Michael many times. They stuck together through his multiple cheating scandals. She even stuck by him when he was charged with allegedly assaulting an RHOP cameraman during filming. The charges were ultimately dropped, but the damage was done. The cast didn’t want anything to do with him. Still, Ashley persisted and they had two kids together.

Now it looks like Ashley is finally ready to move on. She confirmed her split with Michael in a statement to Bravo’s The Daily Dish. Ashley began, “Almost eight years ago, when Michael and I said ‘I do,’ we anticipated sharing every single day together from that moment forward. Unfortunately, that is not our current reality. We have decided to separate.”

She continued, “We are aware that there will be many speculative views as to why we have made this decision. People will be quick to assume that the causes were too much intrusion by reality TV into the most personal parts of our lives, age gap issues, cultural problems, or child-rearing differences. Pieces of all these may have affected our pure love for each other, but no one reason is the root cause of our mutual decision to go our separate ways.”

Ashley explained, “We are now both at very different stages in our lives and have different goals for our futures. We both want the other to achieve true happiness and fulfillment and feel that we cannot do this together.” She went on to discuss their children. Said Ashley, “While our romantic bond is broken, we will always love and respect each other. We also know that true happiness can only be achieved by continuing to work together and putting our hearts and souls into raising our two beautiful boys, Dean and Dylan. They will always feel loved and supported, for they were truly created out of love.”

Ashley then concluded, “As this is a personal matter for us, we appreciate everyone who has been a part of our journey and ask for your continued support by respecting us as we go through this emotional situation.”

So was our girl playing the long game this whole time? Ashley’s staunch support of Michael against cast and fan criticism seemed limitless at times. But she openly discussed the possibility of things not working out a few times on the show. Ashley  even previously stated of their marriage, “I am optimistic that we can overcome these hurdles and be stronger in the end, but even if we can’t recover and decide to part ways, I will always cherish him.”

TELL US – ARE YOU SURPRISED THEY ARE BREAKING UP? DO YOU THINK ASHLEY STAYED WITH HIM TO SECURE THE BAG? HOW DO YOU THINK THIS WILL PLAY OUT ON RHOP, WHICH IS CURRENTLY FILMING?

Real Housewives Of New Jersey Recap: Stuck In The Middle Of Lady Drama

Teresa Giudice and Margaret Josephs’ feud has received new levels of chaos. Tre went from 0 to 100 when she threw the entire table (basically) at Marge’s face. I understand she doesn’t want Marge in her business, but there need to be lines when it comes to physical contact.

Frank Catania doesn’t think anything Marge has done is bad. He doesn’t think it’s unusual to want answers to questions. I can see where he’s coming from because she’s not creating these topics out of thin air. She’s only discussing things that are already circulating in the press about Louie Ruelas.

Marge thinks Teresa owes her an apology, but good luck getting one. Tre’s coming in hot. That’s what she always does. She’s going to be at the next dinner which is crazy after how the other one ended.

Jennifer Aydin wants to know what Marge can’t just acknowledge that it bothers Tre that she’s asking questions. There’s a double standard though. Tre can say whatever she wants and dig up dirt, but nobody else can? That’s crazy talk.

Joe Gorga says everything’s frustrating for Teresa, so they should give her a break. I enjoy Teresa, BUT she’s not some innocent victim here. She plays just as dirty as anyone else in this group. Everyone’s forever making excuses for her inexcusable behavior.

Dolores Catania Real Housewives Of New Jersey

Dolores Catania wants to diffuse the situation with Teresa because she’s her puppet. That’s not the real reason, but that’s how it feels most of the time. She frequently turns her back on everyone else to protect precious Tre.

Dolores’ goal is to talk some sense into Teresa on a Nashville shopping trip. Good luck Dolo. When Teresa sets her sights on someone, she can be relentless. She should know that given the amount of time they’ve been friends.

Once again, Jersey is hellbent on making the husbands happen. Why do they get their scenes? This is HouseWIVES. Plain and simple.

The ladies are recording a song. How fun! You know Melissa Gorga is ready to put her talents on display. It’s an opportunity to showcase herself as the WISH version of Jennifer Lopez.

Teresa Giudice Real Housewives Of New Jersey

I guess I can’t comprehend why Dolores always has to kiss Teresa’s ass? I’m not necessarily against Teresa here, but everyone is always so scared to go against her.

The women are officially recording their song, and it’s so awkward. Let me flee. Let me fun to another room. IT IS SO BAD. Dolores and Teresa are having a far less uncomfortable conversation than whatever pitchy mess this is.

At the same time as these other encounters, all of the men are getting trashed on a boat and drinking out of dildos. What a wild time. Three very different vibes.

Teresa says Marge needs to watch the way she talks because eventually she’ll get attacked. Dolores tells her it’s probably best to walk away. No matter what Dolores is saying, Tre thinks Marge needs to be ashamed of herself. Everything she’s telling Teresa is going in one ear and out the other.

Margaret can’t be serious if she genuinely thinks Teresa would ever show up and apologize. It’s never going to happen. She’s been friends with her long enough to know that’s never going to happen. It’s bordering on delusional to even think that.

The men return to the house, and they are LOADED. The combination of 15 drinks and the sun was a combo that hit each of them so damn hard. It’s hilarious though.

Melissa Gorga Real Housewives Of New Jersey

Joe makes a good point about not every man being willing to accept Teresa’s rage. However, Louie is the exception to the rule. He has a genuine love for Teresa, and he’s willing to put up with it.

Marge doesn’t want to speak to Tre at dinner. The less communication between the two of them, the better. Their interaction is the most combustible element of the dinner. If they decide to hash things out, the night’s going to be ruined for everyone. Let’s get through one meal without an explosion of drama.

Melissa warns that everyone should brace themselves because Teresa’s not even close to being over this. Hold onto your seats because the queen of Jersey is out for blood.

Before dinner, everyone does a line dance that I’d need an absorbent amount of cocktails to ensure. I could only hear “heel-toe” so many times before I imploded.

The girls play their song for everyone, and Teresa’s not amused. She thinks it’s trash, and she doesn’t care about the underlying message of friendship. It’s blatantly clear she’s looking for Round 2 with Margaret, so let’s get it over with.

Margaret Josephs Real Housewives Of New Jersey

At dinner, Teresa apologizes to the group for her actions the night prior. She says she loves Louie very much and when someone hurts him, they’re hurting her. She claims she was provoked as well. Technically she was, but that apology was trash.

It’s not the best apology, but do we have to drag this out even more? This is the best Marge is ever going to get from Teresa. Jennifer plays bone carrier and tells Teresa that Marge hates the apology.

Joe says there was progress for Teresa. A few years ago, Tre would never utter an apology in any way, shape, or form. Teresa comments on Margaret always eating dinner. Why body shame her? That’s just gross.

Why is everyone sitting there and condoning the way she body shames Margaret at every turn? Of course, Teresa wants to drag Melissa into this and force her into an awkward position. She even told Melissa that if she doesn’t straighten Margaret out, they won’t have a relationship.

Teresa’s being so gross at this down. Melissa’s in the worst position ever. Teresa wants to say this is disgusting, but SHE is the one dragging this shit out. I’ve never seen someone so stubborn and delusional in my life.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Recap: Finger-Banged On The High Seas

On some shows within the Bravoverse, the term “finger-banged” comes with a certain connotation. But in the world of Below Deck Sailing Yacht, it should be taken at face value. Like when Gary King‘s finger got slammed in the sliding glass doors at the end of last week’s episode. So at the top of this week, the first mate’s finger has quite literally been banged. And he’s in excruciating pain. We’re talking swearing, shouting, screaming into your pillow kind of pain. Daisy Kelliher claims stubbing your toes, fingers and various other body parts just comes with the life of a yachtie. All the same, you can’t help but feel bad for the guy as he writhes around his cabin in agony. But at least the sliding glass doors didn’t shatter?

The residual pain of his injury, however, makes Gary‘s patience run thin. To the point that, once they’re out of the rolling waves that caused the chaos in the first place, he starts snapping at Kelsie Goglia over menial tasks, like detangling whatever a captive winch is. Careful there, Gare Bear, Kelsie’s the only deckhand you have around these days. You’re both working 12-hour shifts on deck with no one else to shoulder any of the burden. So maybe treat her with a little more kindness…

Meanwhile, Gabriela Barragan‘s off day just continues to get worse. A stilted attempt at conversation with Chef Marcos Spaziani goes absolutely nowhere. Mostly because neither is willing to put aside their pride and apologize for sniping at the other during their last crew night out. But either way, the second stew is starting to feel not only like she’s failing at her job, but that she’s completely isolated from her co-workers. But maybe that’s for the best when they’re all crowded around the table in the crew mess stabbing a red-hot needle into Gary‘s nail to drain it of blood…

below deck sailing yacht recap season 3 episode 9 chef marcos spaziani vegan food gary king first officer

During dinner, Chef Marcos once again shows off by transforming a butternut squash into a beef tenderloin for the vegan primary. And as the night shift begins, Gary and his freshly blood-letted nail apologize to Kelsie for being short with her. Blame it on the finger bang, right? One thing that can’t be blamed on Gary’s injury, though, is the tension among interior department, which is palpable basically every time Gabriela so much as walks into the room. No matter what she does, Ashley Marti will always resent Gabriela for being one rung above her in the stew hierarchy. Even a simple task like thanking the third stew for washing the dishes without being asked gets attitude. At this point, the relationship between Daisy‘s underlings seems to be a bit of a lost cause.

The next morning, pretty much everyone on board is hoping for a clean slate of a day. Gary‘s finger may be oozing pus, but things are looking up, OK? Re-anchoring in Port Mahon, the crew tries to make up for the previous day’s choppy water by offering the guests an afternoon of swimming and water sports on the beach. But left to organize service for the excursion, Gabriela is forced to coordinate with Chef Marcos, resulting in nothing but passive-aggressive awkwardness between the two.

below deck sailing yacht recap season 3 episode 9 ashley marti third stew

With Gabriela off the boat tending to the guests, Ashley decides it’s the perfect time to throw her nemesis under the bus to Daisy. Toying with a Reese’s, the third stew breaks Gabriela’s confidence. And promptly snitches to Daisy that she was thinking of quitting just a few days ago. To her credit, the chief stew refuses to simply take Ashley’s word for it, and promises she’ll get Gabriela’s side of the story as well. Via confessional, Daisy even has the foresight to blame Ashley for much of the cold war happening between the two. Even though most of it’s happening behind her back. Of course, the moment Gabriela’s back on board, Ashley reverts to giving her the bratty cold shoulder.

Dinner is yet another vegan magic trick, with Chef Marcos somehow turning tofu, vegetable broth and cornflakes into the equivalent of friend chicken. But even while she’s on service, Ashley can’t resist badmouthing Gabriela to Chef Marcos and Colin Macrae. After everyone’s gone to bed, Gabriela pulls Kelsie aside for a heart-to-heart. And lays out all the reasons she’s feeling uncomfortable around Ashley, Chef Marcos and even Daisy to a certain extent. Ever sensible, the female deckhand acts as an impartial third party, both validating Gabriela’s emotions and giving her some sound advice about how to co-exist peacefully on a boat with people who don’t really like you all that much.

below deck sailing yacht recap season 3 episode 9 captain glenn shephard daisy kelliher chief stew

The next morning is departure day. And much to Daisy‘s annoyance, Captain Glenn Shephard is bound and determined to get a sail in for the guests. Even if it means rushing breakfast service to just 15 minutes. Leaving Daisy virtually no time to clear the table. Or put things away before the boat starts heeling. But there’s no talking Captain Glenn out of it. So the chief stew just has to make do, the risk of broken flatware be damned. The captain even pitches the idea in front of the guests as Daisy’s trying to hurriedly take breakfast orders.

Captain Glenn‘s already telling Colin to raise the genoa as the guests are wolfing down breakfast. And the entire boat quickly becomes a jumbled mess with things flying everywhere below deck. But hey, the guests get what they were promised. And even with a steep heel! By the time they’re ready to depart, they’re most satisfied than ever. They don’t even mind having to repack some of their luggage that was probably tossed around their cabins!

below deck sailing yacht recap season 3 episode 9 gabriela barragan second stew

As far as charters go, this one was pretty low-key. Plus, with charter number five under their belts, the crew have officially bypassed the halfway point of the season. And their good work is reflected in the tip of $20,000. I’ve lost count, but that may be a high water mark for this season? It also equals out to a not-terrible $2,500 per person thanks to the crew being short-handed. And in that department, Captain Glenn also breaks the news that the replacement deckhand should be arriving before they pick up the next charter. Oh, and one more thing? He or she will also be arriving after the crew gets their much-deserved day off. Hallelujah!

Following through what she told Ashley, Daisy finally sits down with Gabriela for a check-in. The second stew admits she’s feeling defeated. And Daisy is quick to lift her spirits, validating that she really is great at every aspect of her job. But she also puts the onus on her second to have a desire to be part of the team. She has to want to show up every day with her best foot forward. It’s not exactly a cheerleader pep talk, but it does seem to help Gabriela pull out of her downward spiral. Even just a bit. The episode ends with Daisy and Gabriela hugging it out. But the second stew is still on the verge of tears. So let’s just wait and see how the next charter goes…

Jackie Goldschneider Says Teresa Giudice “Has An Easier Time Bullying A Woman”

Real Housewives of New Jersey is finally getting into the thick of the Margaret Josephs and Teresa Giudice feud. Teresa didn’t want any of her RHONJ co-stars asking questions about her fiancé, Luis “Louie” Ruelas.

And Margaret wasn’t afraid to allege that Teresa’s man was a “sex addict” with “a history of abuse.” When a strange video of Louie at a warrior camp surfaced, the entire cast was buzzing about it. And, you guessed it, Teresa was furious.

Teresa said that she was “hurt and disgusted” by Margaret’s inquisitive behavior. During the most recent episode of RHONJ, Teresa accused Margaret of giving information about Louie to the blogs. I can’t with this nonsense. When Margaret called Teresa a liar, Teresa pushed all the plates and glasses across the table and onto Margaret.

At a tree adventure course, Teresa blasted newbie Traci Johnson because her husband, Tiki Barber, quizzed Louie about the abuse claims during guy’s night. “Usually, guys don’t do their woman’s dirty work,” Teresa remarked. “They just don’t.”

Last season, Teresa spread a rumor that Jackie Goldschneider’s husband, Evan Goldschneider, was cheating at the gym. She claimed that she brought the rumors up so that Jackie could end them. The stress from the gossip caused strife in Jackie and Evan’s marriage. Jackie insisted that Teresa apologize to Evan in person. Never have I seen a more uncomfortable Teresa than when she fumbled through that apology.

According to Reality Blurb!, Jackie sounded off on the way that Teresa is tough on women but doesn’t get angry at men on the RHONJ: After Show. “I think Teresa always has an easier time bullying a woman,” Jackie stated. “Like even when it came to [Evan Goldschneider], she didn’t want to apologize to him. She didn’t want to talk to someone’s husband,” she added.

Margaret also weighed in. “It is true to the fact that she only gets mad at women and women she can be aggressive to and everything else but with men, she’s subservient. It’s interesting,” Margaret remarked. “It’s just like, she was mad at Traci. It’s pure craziness,” she added.

Teresa explained why she tried to avoid apologizing to Evan after spreading the infidelity rumor. “I’m not into that. But I’ll say what I have to say,” Teresa commented.

“I was just trying to tell his wife that this rumor was out there. Because just like I protect Luis, she should protect Evan,” Teresa explained. “If this rumor’s out there, she should kill it. But Jackie, she didn’t get where I was coming from. That’s why, we don’t see eye-to-eye,” the RHONJ “OG” added.

Margaret also said that Jennifer Aydin is “the same way” as Teresa in that she “only blames women,” believing that “men are the innocent ones.”

RELATED: Jackie Goldschneider Says That Teresa Giudice Slamming Margaret Josephs For Revealing Bill Aydin’s Affair “Makes Absolutely No Sense”

Jennifer quickly mentioned an incident between Margaret and Teresa’s brother, Joe Gorga. Margaret confronted Joe about being a male chauvinist. Jennifer said, “When Margaret was saying stuff to your brother Joe at her Halloween party, I thought that whole conversation between them was extremely awkward. I felt that Margaret was getting testy with him.” She continued, “[And] when a man is talking with a woman, there’s a very fine line before that man starts looking like maybe he’s a little too hostile or aggressive with that woman.”

In conclusion, Jennifer added that “[getting] involved with your friend’s significant other” should be avoided at all costs. But you never know what will go down on RHONJ.

Summer House Recap: Dictator At The Dinner Table

Well, well, well. The Good Vibe Tribe may be heading into the final weekend of the summer in this week’s episode of Summer House, but there’s no indication that they’re anywhere close to putting a bow on things this season. In fact, we know Season 6 extends well past the traditional Labor Day Weekend end of summer bash thanks to Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula‘s wedding. And at this point, that’s still a month away. So yes, we have a ways to go in Season 6. Plus, I’m kind of getting ahead of myself. Because the final weekend of the summer doesn’t arrive until halfway through the episode. So let’s back up a bit shall we?

Rewind to Amanda confronting Lindsay Hubbard in the vineyard at the end of last week’s episode. Because even though we heard it last week, it’s reiterated. Lindsay is having the BEST SUMMER OF HER LIFE. And SHE DOESN’T CARE HOW MANY GUYS SHE GIVES A PIECE OF HER HEART TO. OK?!? I REPEAT: BEST. SUMMER. EVER. Meanwhile, Paige DeSorbo and Andrea Denver are over at the table making up after their tiff over the timeline of the Italian Stallion’s relationships. Sure, Paige felt blindsided to learn that Andrea had fallen hard for someone else after their fling in Vermont. But she chose Craig Conover. So why should it matter who Andrea does or doesn’t date? Thankfully, the former lovebirds make up easily, with Paige assuring her ex-flame that he still holds a very, very special place in her heart.

summer house recap season 6 episode 13 carl radke

And after a sweet toast from Carl Radke, that’s a wrap on the wine tasting trip. Hurricane Hubbard is bound and determined to keep the party going. And tries to coax Mya Allen into going out to Montauk. Somehow, this leads to her drunk dialing her flavor of the week, Ahmed. And promptly picking a fight with him over not having his undivided attention all weekend. That Lindsay will never change, now matter how many Hot Hubb Summers she barrels through. The rest of the night is filled with low-key, drama-free roommate bonding involving takeout for dinner and the entire house going out to Murf’s Backstreet Tavern in Sag Harbor. With the exception of Paige, Andrea and Ciara Miller, all of whom opt to stay in bed.

The next morning, it’s Sunday. And over breakfast, the producers start planting the seeds of the Lindsay/Carl romance to come. We all know it’s coming. We can’t stop it, no matter how we feel about it. But at least Carl can surmise that the kinds of guys Lindsay’s been chasing all summer aren’t necessarily bringing out the best in her. As the roommates prepare to head back to the city, Ciara opens up to Paige and Danielle Olivera about how lost she’s felt since moving to New York City. She has yet to restart her nursing career in the Big Apple. It’s safe to say she’s experiencing a quarterlife crisis at 25. But she’s also probably just focused on being a Bravolebrity instead of furthering her life away from the cameras…

summer house recap season 6 episode 13 paige desorbo access hollywood

The week in the city turns out to be a rather eventful one all around. On Monday, Paige heads to Rockefeller Center for her first segment as a fashion and style expert. It’s on Access Hollywood! All about chic, TikTok-worthy tennis-inspired ensembles. Plus, Ciara is there to be one of Paige’s three models. Also for moral support/the fact that she doesn’t have a job. I’ve made it no secret over the years that Paige is one of my favorites on Summer House. And I was quite proud to see her leveraging the show in a way to build a platform that’s about more than just being an Instagram influencer. Say what you will, but our little fashionista has come quite a long way from working for the company-that-shall-not-be-named where she started back in Season 3.

Meanwhile, Kyle and Amanda are having an at-home cake tasting for their wedding. Which, again, is less than a month away. And to make matters more stressful, Amanda’s parents are joining them all the way from New Jersey. And Kyle is bracing himself for quite the awkward conversation. Yes, it’s time to broach the subject of the prenup with Amanda’s dad. He admitted back in the Hamptons that he was obviously nervous to have the discussion. Amanda’s also anxiously throwing together a salad. But it goes…relatively well. Rather than balk at the suggestion, Mr. Batula is open to consulting an attorney to keep Amanda’s financial future in tact. Because apparently, Kyle took out a small business loan for Loverboy. And his four million dollar debt will become Amanda’s as well after they walk down the aisle…

summer house recap season 6 episode 13 luke gulbranson

Labor Day Weekend arrives, and the category is: prom! Also Luke Gulbranson has returned. So everyone’s finally together for one last weekend. Yes, that includes Alex Wach for everyone worried about our favorite turkey-loving personal trainer. Carl came up with the theme and it’s got everyone in the house brimming with high school nostalgia. Except for Andrea, because there’s no such thing as prom in Italy. Paige, on the other hand, went to — count ’em — 12 proms in high school, and was even apparently voted prom queen of a school she didn’t go to.

However, disaster strikes the moment Kyle and Amanda step foot in the house. With just weeks to go, the florist they were planning on using for their wedding has dropped out. Leaving them scrambling and desperate. But everyone else is more concerned with their respective prom dates. Mya‘s asked Oliver (with cookies!). Luke‘s bringing a girl who slid into his DMs. Andrea gets down on one knee to ask Paige to his first-ever prom. (What will Craig think? Especially now that he and Paige are exclusive?) Oh, and Lindsay and Carl are going together too. Cue more foreshadowing…

summer house recap season 6 episode 13 paige desorbo fight kyle cooke lindsay hubbard

To properly kick off the weekend, the housemates head to Southampton hotspot Blu Mar for dinner. But an attempt at having one cohesive conversation among the entire table quickly goes left. Luke asks Lindsay to fill him in on the Ahmed drama. Which promptly puts her in the hot seat, no matter how much she insists they’re simply putting a pin in their two-week romance. However, Kyle throws the proverbial ice water on Lindsay’s defensiveness when he reminds her in front of the entire table that she just had a miscarriage. Uh, was everyone in the house even privy to that information?

For some reason, Kyle starts rage spiraling. Amanda laying into him only makes it worse. As do the multiple side conversations that erupt at the table. Luke tries to change the subject to his own summer-long dating history. Amanda’s in tears. Lindsay‘s muttering about double standards to Paige. And Kyle reaches his boiling point, slamming on the table as Amanda walks off to collect herself. His outburst leads to a heated exchange of words with Paige, who fires off that the Loverboy founder turns into a “psychopath” when he gets angry. Amanda’s off in one corner tearfully venting to Ciara. In another, Carl and Luke are trying to calm Kyle down.

But returning to the table only ignites another outburst from Kyle…as he tries to apologize. He lays out everything that’s on his plate: while everyone else is concerned about what they’re wearing to the prom party, he’s four million dollars in debt. Spending $200,ooo on a lawsuit we’ve never heard about. Trying to expand Loverboy to eight states in one weekend. No longer has a florist for his wedding. It’s a lot. But when Amanda bluntly reminds him he’s not the only person going through problems, it’s more than Kyle can take. And he storms away from the table for not the first, but the second time, just in time for the episode to end on a classic “To Be Continued…”

TELL US — IS LINDSAY’S HOT HUBB SUMMER HIDING A DEEPER WOUND? HOW DO YOU THINK PAIGE DID ON ACCESS HOLLYWOOD? WILL KYLE AND AMANDA FIND A NEW FLORIST? WAS KYLE’S OUTBURST AT DINNER WARRANTED? OR IS HE BEING THE HOUSE DICTATOR?
