Big Brother Alumni Celebrate End Of Big Brother 24 [Photos]

It’s been a few years since the former Big Brother houseguests got together to celebrate the end of a season. Obviously, the global pandemic made many people more cautious and responsible. This meant less celebrating of big events. However, some Big Brother alumni got together on Sunday to celebrate the end of Big Brother 24 and Taylor Hale‘s historic victory. With many having work the next day, it wasn’t a whole week of celebrating. Nevertheless, there were lots of parties to honor the end of Big Brother 24.

Many even kept the celebrations going strong pass the weekend. From parties with fans to visits to Celebrity Big Brother runner-up Todrick Hall‘s house,  the houseguest made it a night to remember. As part of the season wrap-up, we gathered some of the best photos from the Big Brother 24 finale celebrations.

Check them out below.

Big Brother 24 Season Finale Recap: When A Win Is Much More Than A Win

Resiliency. That is the word that my fellow Michigander and former pageant queen, Taylor Hale, used to describe her season of Big Brother. I’ll use a few others to describe it: Epic. Moving. Powerful. Transcendent. Important. Historic.

Taylor Hale is the winner of Big Brother 24. Read that over and over again. Taylor did it. She won Big Brother! She actually did it.

There’s simply no question that Taylor‘s incredible journey this season in the Big Brother House was the best, most rewarding underdog story in Big Brother history. But I’d argue that it was more than that. Her season, culminating in her two-minute long final speech to the jury, will go down as an important moment in American Television history.

Before I dive in, here are some facts for you:

  • Taylor Hale becomes the first Black female winner of Big Brother in the US…Tamar Braxton won Celebrity Big Brother, but not the regular edition of the show. The closest Black woman to have come close to the top prize was Danielle Reyes, who finished 2nd waaaaaay back in 2002, during Big Brother 3. To put that in perspective, that was the first season that Power of Veto competitions were introduced. Danielle lost in an 8-1 vote on Sept. 25, 2002…20 years to the day where Taylor won 8-1.
  • Taylor is the first person to win both the game and “America’s Favorite Houseguest.” This means she also has won the most money ever on the show, with those prizes combining for $800,000.
  • Taylor‘s six times on the block is a record for the most-ever by an eventual winner of the game.
  • Taylor is the third straight Black woman to win America’s Favorite Houseguest,” following Da’Vonne (BB22) and Tiffany (BB23).
  • Taylor is the first person to ever make me cry watching Big Brother.

Hey, that last fact is an important one. Big Brother is known for its cheesy-ness, heck, it’s the foundation of the show and quite often it leans into the eye-rolls quite heavily. The cheese is of course part of the charm. We put up with zing-slingin’ robots, ridiculous costum-itards, dorky mental comps (does any other Reality Show expect their contestants to remember exactly what happened on what day over the course of the show?) and outrageously corny physical comps (“hold on to your wiener!” was the main goal of one of tonight’s “all-important” final competitions). We put up with people arguing over stolen muffins, show-mance after show-mance, and production feeding lines like to the contestants like, “Girl, you’re glimmering like a lemon pound cake!”

All too often, Big Brother is also known for how the outside world and all of its problems leak into the Big Brother House. Racism, for example, continues to find its way in despite the physical isolation.

But when the reflection of real world issues does occur – and it occurred as recently as a few weeks ago with Kyle and his “Cookout 2.o” comments and paranoia – it usually displays the ugliest that America has to offer. Heck, this ugliness and the resulting conflicts that it brings are pretty much the basis for nearly all of Reality Television.

Taylor flipped this script. And this is why the story of Taylor Hale on Big Brother is so vital, and so different. Taylor’s response to the ugliness she was shown, her grace and her poise when others tried to keep her down, her positivity and her – yes – resilience, led to a beautiful life lesson for us all. We all finally received something we can use from Reality TV, something we didn’t know we could find in such an unexpected place. I guess Julie Chen-Moonves has been telling us all along, to “expect the unexpected,” but this was unexpected indeed, to be brought to tears by a woman who was simply not going to be denied her moment…a moment that she didn’t ask for necessarily, one that was thrust upon her, but one that she was ready to overcome with dignity and power. It’s not that Reality TV has never offered up such moments, it’s just that these moments are few and far between. Her final speech transcended the game of Big Brother, it delivered something that nobody could have quite possibly seen coming. Taylor persevered, but more than this, she stayed true to herself through it all. She didn’t bend, she didn’t falter, she didn’t fold. “I an not a shield, I’m a sword. I am not a victim I’m a victor.” Her story was every underdog story. And it spoke to female empowerment in a time where such ideals are being challenged in frightening new ways.

It was Maya Angelou who said: “I can be changed by what happens to me. But I refuse to be reduced by it.” That was Taylor Hale.

As it relates to the game, it is only fitting that Taylor was underestimated all the way to the very end. She lost both HOH competitions and yet Monte thought his “big move” was taking out Turner, never expecting that the jury would ever vote for Taylor over him. Traditionally, Monte’s move to take out Turner was a big move. He just never once considered that Taylor was capable of what she would do next. You could tell that Taylor was ready for her moment in the spotlight, a former pageant queen who has a bit of experience putting herself out there for the world to see. Going in to the final round of questions and final speeches, I thought Taylor had a chance to win, but once she began knocking each question out of the park, and then delivering that historic final speech, it would have been a TRAVESTY for Monte to have won at that point. Monte didn’t just lose to Taylor, he got annihilated by her. You could see the shock in his eyes as it was happening, and how he reacted each time Taylor would sit back down. He was just shaking his head. All of his preparation, all of his time spent on what he would say to convince the final jury, didn’t even hold a candle to the magnificent star power illuminating from Taylor.

It wasn’t addressed at Finale, but the jury implied that Monte would have won the game had he chose to sit next to Turner. And while Turner used the word to describe his surprise at getting blindsided by Monte, it was Monte who was ultimately left bamboozled. He never saw Taylor coming. No one did, all season. And yet, she persevered.

In a speech that will go down as a top Reality TV moment of all-time, I also loved, loved, loved, loved how Taylor redefined a clichéd Big Brother phrase. Each and every season, we hear over and over the phrase “blood on my hands.” Most of the time, it’s “I don’t want to get any blood on my hands” or “so-and-so has the most blood on their hands,” used to describe someone who is responsible for getting someone else out of the game. Taylor gave this phrase perspective. “Monte may have had more blood on his hands than me,” Taylor told the jury. “But I have bled out the most in this game. I have bandaged myself up every single time and gotten up and continued to fight, because like so many other women in the world, that is what we have to continue to do to get to the end. We have to take care of ourselves and put ourselves first while also looking out for the ones that are behind us.”

There’s really nothing more that can be said that does justice to Taylor‘s final words, but I felt like I was watching history, and I also feel like I need to say “Thank You.” Thank you to Taylor, thanks for what you provided us with and the words you spoke tonight. As a massive Survivor fan, I remember the iconic “snake vs. rat” speech by Sue Hawk during Survivor’s first season, and I remember knowing as it was happening that it was something that would be a historic Reality TV moment. After tonight’s BB24 Finale, I find myself searching through my thoughts, my memories, for other “big” or “important” moments that I remember watching play out live on my TV as I watched a Reality TV show. I can think of a few others. But none hit me the way that Taylor’s speech did. I think because I’ve never been left to feel this GOOD. So positive. So hopeful.

One season removed from The Cookout alliance and the show’s first Black winner (Xavier Prather), Big Brother 24 produces its first Black female winner, Taylor Hale. For real, where can the show go from here? It’s impossible for it go up, right? Well, as they say: Expect the unexpected.

Thanks also to everyone for following along and reading this column this season. Your comments and your support is truly appreciated, and it was a pleasure to recap this amazing season these past few months! I urge you to consider jumping back into Survivor this season, as it just had a very promising start this past week (I’m recapping that as always for this site as well!).

To quote Julie Chen-Moonves, I’ll leave you all with this: Love one another.

Who Will Win Big Brother 24?

We haven’t had a too close-to-call Big Brother final three in a while. Minus Big Brother 19, at least since Big Brother 15, it’s been pretty obvious who would win if they make it to the final two every season. Then if that person didn’t make it there, there was always a second person in the final three who would obviously win. We think we know how the jury will vote, but we wouldn’t be surprised by any Big Brother 24 winner.

Big Brother 24 Final 3

Before the upcoming Big Brother 24 finale, we want to try to figure out who could win Big Brother 24 in multiple scenarios. Let’s take a look at all the different final 2 scenarios with Monte Taylor, Taylor Hale, and Matt Turner.

 Monte Taylor Vs. Taylor Hale

This is probably the hardest Big Brother final two to call. However, we think that Monte would take home the win. What gives Monte the edge is that he would have been the one to take Taylor to the finale. This means that he cut Turner. If most of the jury thinks like Brittany Hoopes, then Turner has been Monte’s biggest game rival.

Turner and Monte played most of the game together, so their moves are closely aligned.  Taking out Turner gives Monte another big move on his resume. It also means that he now won five competitions. This gives him the second most competition wins of the season.

The jury seems to like Taylor more than Monte, but based on the most recent jury segment, it seems like they respect Monte’s game slightly more than Taylor’s game. This is how we think the votes may fall.

Jasmine Davis votes for Monte.

Indy Santos votes for Monte.

Joseph Abdin votes for Monte.

Kyle Capener votes for Monte

Terrance Higgins votes for Monte

Michael Bruner votes for Taylor

Alyssa Snider votes for Taylor

Brittany votes for Taylor

Turner votes for Monte.

Monte wins by 6-3. I could also see Indy, Joseph, and Jasmine voting for Taylor but only if she gives a killer speech to explain why she deserves to be crowned the winner. If she gets those three votes, then she wins the game. Michael could also vote for Monte, but I think in his heart, he would rather see Taylor win than Monte and give her his vote.

Turner may be a little annoyed that Monte cut him, but we still think he’ll give Monte his vote.

Monte Taylor Vs. Matt Turner

This is the most likely scenario as the odds are more in favor of this outcome. Turner is very likely to take Monte to the end over Taylor. Monte has told Taylor that he will take her, but he also has a final two deal with Turner. He could go either way with who he takes. We’re not sure it would matter too much who takes whom to the final two in this scenario.

The jury may interpret it the same way no matter who makes this move. Turner and Monte both have big moves on their resume and both can be credited with taking out Michael–arguably the biggest game move of the season. If Turner gives a killer speech and answers the questions well, then there is a chance he beats Monte. However, I think the odds are once again on Monte’s side.

Turner really pissed off a lot of jurors before they were evicted. This means that he would have to do some work to get them on his side. We think the votes will fall like this:

Jasmine votes for Monte.

Indy votes for Monte.

Joseph votes for Monte.

Kyle votes for Turner.

Terrance votes for Monte.

Michael votes for Monte.

Brittany votes for Turner.

Alyssa votes for Monte.

Taylor votes for Monte.

It could be a 7 to 2 vote. The interesting votes in this scenario are Terrance, Brittany, and Alyssa’s votes. Alyssa left the game pissed at Turner and was still hurt going to the jury. However, she may forgive him with enough time and possible influence from players such as Kyle. Brittany left mad at Monte, but she could also change her tune and vote for him in the end, especially if she knows the majority of the jury is voting that way.

Terrance may go either way with his vote and may decide it based on who wins the last HOH. We think Taylor is a vote for Monte, but if he’s the one to cut her, she may decide to vote against him. It could come down to whether she respects the move of him cutting her at the final three.

Matt Turner Vs. Taylor Hale

This is probably the least likely scenario because Turner is highly unlikely to take Taylor to the end. He would have to change his tune completely in the next few hours. If Taylor sees the final two with Turner, that means he cut Monte and won his fourth HOH of the season. With Taylor vs Turner, it might come down to a popularity contest and jury management.

Taylor did a way better job of jury management than Turner, so she could very likely beat him. Here’s how the jury could vote:

Jasmine votes for Taylor.

Indy votes for Taylor.

Joseph votes for Taylor.

Kyle votes for Turner.

Terrance votes for Turner.

Michael votes for Taylor.

Alyssa votes for Taylor.

Brittany votes for Taylor.

Monte votes for Turner.

Taylor could win by a 6-3 vote. Michael could vote for Turner because he respects that he was the one who got him out. However, like with Monte, we think he would want Taylor to win as his friend. Alyssa’s vote will really come down to whether she has forgiven Turner. Even if she has, she mentioned wanting a woman to win the season. We believe Taylor would have her vote.

Despite Monte being cut by Turner in this scenario, we think he respects Turner’s game more and would give him his vote. However, if Monte is true to his word about wanting to see a Black woman win Big Brother, then Taylor could have his vote.

Going into the Big Brother 24 finale, it seems like Monte is the odds favorite to win the season. However, the jurors could be persuaded to a different route depending on the final speeches, questions, and how they feel about the player sitting next to Monte. If Monte doesn’t make it to the end, we think Taylor slightly edges Turner out for the victory, but the jurors are unpredictable. Turner could win by a landslide.

Big Brother 24 Episode 31 Recap: Things Are Adding Up For Monte

Only four houseguests remain in the Big Brother 24 house after Alyssa Snider was evicted and sent to the jury house during the last live episode. HOH Monte Taylor felt he needed to keep Taylor Hale and Matt Turner in the house to help his end in the long run. He feels strongly they will help him get to the final two he desperately wants to attain.

BB24 Monte POV

Taylor went from the eviction block to Head of Household in a matter of minutes after beating Brittany Hoopes in a tie-breaker competition. Taylor will name the block nominees tonight, but that won’t hold much weight. This week, the final Power of Veto competition winner will call all the shots and pick who will be evicted. Who will win that power?

Drama Before Last Eviction Vote

Brittany pulled Turner aside in the storage room and tried to convince him to give Alyssa a sympathy vote. Her idea was to get Turner to vote for Taylor while he thought she was voting for Alyssa. However, they would both vote for Taylor, and she would have been evicted.

BB24 Brittany and Turner

Turner didn’t fall for the “plan” and voted to evict Alyssa, forcing Monte to break the tie. He voted to evict Alyssa, and she went to the jury house. Now, Brittany has a lot of explaining to do. Turner is concerned Monte and Taylor will think he voted to evict Taylor rather than Brittany. Consequently, he went into damage control mode immediately.

After the eviction vote, Brittany tried to convince Taylor that she did not cast the one vote for her eviction. Brittany can feel the distance between them. Taylor admitted in the diary room that she is uncertain as to which one, Turner or Brittany, is telling the truth.

Week 11 Block Nomination Ceremony

Taylor nominated Brittany and Turner for eviction this week at the block nomination ceremony. She explained that they both claim they voted to keep her at the last eviction, but someone is lying. Again, the nominations really aren’t that important this week because the POV winner will determine who is evicted this week. The POV winner will cast the only vote for eviction. If the HOH wins the POV, they will pick who casts the final vote.

Week 11 Power of Veto Competition

This week’s POV is called Math Fest, and here is how it works. The players will be shown 10 different pictures from events that occurred in the Big Brother 24 house. They must pick which day in the house that event happened and place the day under the photo. Then they will add all of those days together to get a final total. The player with the correct answer will win the most important POV of the season.

BB24 POV

After a tough competition, Monte correctly placed all the days under the photos and added up the total more quickly than his opponents. He will choose whether or not to use the veto. He will most likely not use the veto because he is the only houseguest left to be placed on the block as a replacement nominee.

That means Monte will cast the one and only vote for eviction this week. He will have to choose between Brittany and Turner. Monte and Taylor are both guaranteed the final three in the Big Brother 24 game.

There will not be a Big Brother 24 episode this coming Wednesday but join us again on Thursday, September 22 at 9 PM EST for the live eviction vote.
