Deal or No Deal Island Season 2, Episode 1 Premiere Recap: A Sly New Banker Changes the Game

Deal or No Deal Island is back for Season 2! The series, which blends the original Deal or No Deal with nail-biting physical challenges and strategic gameplay, blew our minds with its first season. Now 14 new players are staying on the Banker’s private, swampy, tropical island.

Once again, host and Game Master Joe Manganiello is ready to find the Banker’s ultimate challenger. Each competitor hopes to be the last player standing, securing the right to play the Banker for the entire prize pot. Last season, contestant Jordan Fowler took home $1,230,000 as the first winner of Deal or No Deal Island. Will the winner of Season 2 take home even more cash? Let’s dive into the Season 2 premiere recap of Deal or No Deal Island, “The Banker Strikes Back.”

Of course, there are three reality stars in the mix. Parvati and David have both won Survivor, while Dr. Will won Big Brother. It remains to be seen if these reality stars’ resumes will help or hurt them.

Joe Manganiello explains the first challenge on Deal or No Deal Island Season 2

Parvati was getting some serious side-eye as the contestants sped towards the island in a boat. She wasn’t going to openly admit that she competed on Survivor four times and won once. The yoga teacher and life coach created an all-female alliance on Survivor known as the Black Widow Brigade. But no worries, Parvati isn’t a threat.

“I’m here to just blow fairy dust in people’s eyes so that they can’t imagine life without me. Look, I could be a cult leader if I want to,” she said in a confessional. That is probably true.

Finally, the players met Joe on a platform in the water. He warned the group to discard everything that they think they know because the Banker has flipped the game. For the first challenge, dubbed the “Banker’s Pyramid Scheme,” the Banker wanted to assess what type of players were on the island. There was a golden pyramid on a floating platform in the water, with water spraying out of its top. There are nearly $5 million in cases located on the structure.

To get one of the high-value cases, contestants must cross floating rocks that are slippery and loosely connected. Side two of the pyramid has cases that contain medium-value dollar amounts, and those contestants can take an easier, but longer, path through the jungle.

Side three boasts three red cases, and these can be reached via zipline. One has a “swap,” one has a “steal,” and one has the lowest case amount. The player with the highest value case will be safe and decide who will face the Banker in The Temple.

As the players started to plot their course, Joe added another wrinkle. Whichever path they choose will determine which team they are on, and the team with the lowest combined total is up for elimination. Yikes!

Two teams face some problems

This challenge is insane. David, Seychelle, and Luke picked the zipline to the red cases. The plan was for Luke, who was at the top of the perch, to watch who took the $1 million case. However, instead of waiting, he just zipped away. Then Seychelle followed suit, leaving David alone to mutter about their lack of strategy.

Meanwhile, the team going over the rocks for the high-value cases included Phillip, Sydnee, Lete, and Parvati. Poor Sydnee had trouble crossing the rocks and hit her face on one. Ouch! I felt that at home.

Finally, David, who was still hanging out at the top of the zipline, saw Lete take the $1 million case. What he didn’t see was the players switch the cases after that. It’s an old-fashioned switcheroo, and I’m here for it!

Finally, it’s time for the teams to open their cases. The Jungle team, comprised of Storm, CK, La Shell, Rock, Maria Grace, and Dickson, have a combined total of $1.6 million. Rock has the highest case, worth $450,000.

Next, the Zipline team opened their cases. Luke had the “steal.” Poor David tried to convince Luke to take a case from the high-value team, like Lete’s $1 million. However, Luke insisted on taking Rock’s case for $450,000. All because he wanted a “bird in the hand.” Everyone was stunned. Then, Seychelle discovered that she had the lowest case in the game at $75,000. That meant that David had the “swap,” which was worth $200,000.

Of course, David thought that Lete had the $1 million because he didn’t know they switched cases. The Rocks team wanted to keep David in the game, so they decided to make him a deal and give him a case that they would ensure David’s team would come in second place. As Sydnee so eloquently put it, “He’s so hot it’s stupid.”

Sydnee went over and whispered the plan to David, but he wanted to come in first place. He refused and swapped for Lete’s case. However, when she opened it, it was only worth $500,000.

The Rocks team’s total was $2.55 million, and Sydnee had the $1 million case. Naturally, the Zipline crew was in last place. Since someone from their team had to face the Banker, both David and Luke wanted the opportunity. Luke’s reason for coming on the show was to help his father. When Luke went through a divorce, his father came out of retirement to help him. That is sweet.

Welcome to camp!

The accommodations impressed the contestants. There are three lodging areas. The group quickly divided into pods. The Red Dome has C.K., Rock, Dickson, and Parvati. Then, we have the Blue Dome, which Lete, Phillip, Seychelle, Luke, and Storm call home. They quickly form the “high-five alliance.” Finally, the Yellow Dome has David, Sydnee, La Shell, and Maria Grace. Welcome to the social game, folks!

Sydnee told David that he wasn’t going anywhere. She wanted him to go steady … oops, I mean, always be her challenge partner. “Sydnee wants to actually eat me,” David told the camera. “Girl, I’m married, you know? Step off!”

Meanwhile, as individuals approached Parvati and told her that they knew who she was, she asked them not to tell anyone. However, David was in for a shock, because Parvati is a fan of his! He hoped to fly under the radar the whole time. And so, the Black Widow and the “Golden God of Australian Survivor” made a pact to go to the end. “Thank God I’ve got someone out here I can play with!” Parvati said. Then they giggled over how sweet and innocent the normal players were.

However, Parvati took a shine to Dickson, and his story of how his parents had him live with an elderly couple who had grandchildren. Parvati and David are now his “mom” and “dad.”

Meanwhile, Seychelle doesn’t want to face the Banker, and she doesn’t plan to go home. She told Lete and Phillip that if someone has to go, it should be David because he is a threat. Then she told Luke that sending David home would be “a sick move.” I see you, Seychelle, working that social game.

Who will face the Banker in The Temple?

Luke Olejniczak faces off against the Banker in Deal or No Deal Island Season 2, Episode 1.

At The Temple, one thing was clear: Syndee loved to have all the attention on her. She claimed that she was the team leader, which caused some eye-rolling from Phillip, Parvati, and Lete. Finally, Luke stepped up to face the Banker. “This is what I want. Back where I come from, when we’re ready to go to work, we roll up our sleeves, Joe,” he stated, rolling up his sleeves.

Then, the Banker called before the game started. It was Howie Mandel, and he video-chatted with the new contestants. He let them know two things. One, he was not impressed by their performance. And two, he is not the Banker this season. He found his ultimate competitor in Jordan, so he was letting a new Banker take control.  

It was time for Joe to get down to business. The prize total will grow every game until the finale. The largest case amounts that the players retrieve during the excursion are added to the board, along with low numbers from the Banker. Luke needed to make a good deal to stay in the game. A good deal means taking an offer that is higher than what is in his case.

Finally, Luke chose number seven for his case. He selected four cases, but a bored Banker only offered him $55,000. He said, “No deal,” and continued to the next round. Afterward, the Banker’s new offer was $220,000. Luke still wouldn’t accept the deal, and he knocked the $1 million off the board in the third round.

Wow – this banker doesn’t play. The new offer was $185,000. Once again, Luke moved on to round four, where he had to select one case. That case knocked another high number off the board, leaving only $1, $500, and $600,000 on the board.

The Banker offered $218,000, or Luke could open one final case. Luke decided to play on, much to Seychelle’s delight. “What I’m hoping for is that Luke makes a terrible deal with the Banker and he gets his *ss shipped back home to Wisconsin,” she stated.

Well, Luke’s final pick was the $600,000 case. The Banker called back with the lowest offer in Deal or No Deal Island history: $300. Meanwhile, Sydnee kept giving advice but then told everyone else not to say anything. What?! Once again, Luke rejected the offer. His case must have a value of $500 for him to stay.

Who was eliminated in Deal or No Deal Island, Season 2, Episode 1?

Luke Olejniczak was the first player eliminated in Deal or No Deal Island Season 2.

Welp, the private chef had the $1, which was added to the prize pot. “I put our team at risk. They both get to fight on to live on another day,” he told the group.

In his final confessional, Luke stated, “I got what I deserved, but I’m not going to dwell on the past. The only thing that would be worse than being eliminated is being eliminated when it’s not in your control.”

Before the group headed back to camp, Joe issued a warning. “But beware of the Banker, you never know what she will do next,” he stated. And the crowd went wild! So, who could this new female Banker be?

David is in a tricky position

The next morning, Parvati and David decide to wait until after the next challenge to drop some wisdom on the newbies. Once someone wins, they will see who influences that person. Still, David is wondering if Parvati is playing him.

Then, Sydnee approached David, asking who he wanted as a partner in the challenge. While he wanted to see how it goes, Sydnee, who went from being homeless to working on Wall Street, won’t accept that. “You’re not going to, like, abandon me?” Sydnee asked. As David tried to figure out what she meant, she snapped, “Just don’t ditch me without warning!” And she doesn’t just mean in this challenge. “You live with me, I’ll f*ck you up,” she said, then laughed. I wonder who will be sleeping with one eye open?

Eventually, the group met Joe on a platform in the swamp. There are signs that say “danger” sticking up out of the water. The host let them know they have disappointed the Banker. So, this challenge will be “a twisted treasure hunt.” And there is a surprise that could upend the game.

Deal or No Deal Island continues on Tuesdays at 9/8c on NBC and streams the next day on Peacock.

Kylie Jenner enjoyed a fabulous night at the Golden Globes 2025 and didn’t hold back from gushing about it on social media. The makeup mogul dazzled her way to join Timothée Chalamet at the star-studded event. Jenner looked breathtaking as she wore a risqué dress from Versace’s Spring 1999 collection. Kylie Jenner dropped a new set of photos on Instagram to recap her time at the Golden Globes 2025. She captioned the post, “cuuutest night w the cutest girls in a little 1999 versace.” Besides flaunting her shiny outfit, Jenner shared a sweet selfie with Elle Fanning and Monica Barbaro, who were sat beside her and Timothée Chalamet at this year’s ceremony. 

Jenner’s new carousel also gave a closer look at the stunning strapped silver dress she wore to the awards show. The sultry piece featured a bold plunging neckline and cutouts on the side. Moreover, the body-hugging tailoring accentuated her curves. The ankle-length dress continued to add another racy element with its backless design.

The reality TV star shared several snaps taken from different angles to flaunt her glamorous ensemble. Jenner was all smiles in the first photo as she posed for the camera. The Kylie Cosmetics founder continued a series of candid shots and selfies from the night. Furthermore, she flaunted the backside in one of the snaps.

From the Golden Globes 2025 red carpet to the Netflix afterparty, Zoe Saldaña donned her winning glam in the most stunning outfits. First, Saldaña wore a classic Saint Laurent gown with a plunging neckline for her first-ever win for “Emilia Pérez” in the Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role category, reported WWD. She later slipped into a showstopper sheer gown with floral lace, pairing it with a fitting accessory — her trophy — for the celebratory party at Spago in Beverly Hills.

Kicking off the awards season with a spectacular victory, Saldaña celebrated the milestone in a simple yet sexy sheer dress and the cutest social media post. She joined her “Emilia Pérez” co-stars for Netflix’s afterparty following the ceremony, wearing a chic and sheer dress to make an eye-catching appearance.

Saldaña’s outfit was a caramel-colored lace dress with complex floral patterns and a halterneck design that transformed into a turtleneck. The fully see-through dress fitted flawlessly around her toned body, offering just sufficient sneak peeks. Real Housewives of Potomac Season 9, Episode 13 Recap: Rum-ble in the Jungle

Welcome to the recap for Real Housewives of Potomac Season 9, Episode 13. In the last episode, the ladies headed to Panama for some relaxation with a dash of chaos, courtesy of Wendy’s villa assignments. Stacey got heat from the group regarding TJ not vibing with her, but she remained on his side. Karen was not over Jacqueline crashing her party, and Gizelle had beef with Mia for bringing up her daughters. However, after the OGs shared their peace, the group moved forward positively. At least for the first day. Here’s exactly what happened in RHOP Season 9, Episode 13: “Rum-ble in the Jungle.”

What happened in Real Housewives of Potomac Season 9, Episode 13?

Day two in Panama was a turning point between Mia and the group. Both Gizelle and Ashley were tired of Mia’s behavior and wanted her to take accountability for her actions. However, she did have support from Jacqueline, Keiarna, and Stacey. The day wasn’t all drama, though. Wendy took them rum tasting, and they played a game imitating each other, which was pretty spot on. At the night’s end, Karen hoped Mia could turn things around with everyone. Mia finally seemed willing and able, but things could always change on a dime.

Jacqueline saved the day for Mia

We left off with Mia talking to her mom, trying to find out where Gordon took the kids. In her confessional, Mia stated this was just another reason as to why she wanted a divorce. Even though now the two might be back together. Thankfully, Jacqueline put on her number one sidekick hat and found out that the kids were with their nanny’s mother. Mia’s panic attack was averted, and she was ready for a strong shot of tequila.

The group then headed off for some rum tasting and shopping. Keiarna gave an update on her and Greg’s relationship. She explained things were rough for the first year, but now they knew they were meant to be. Gizelle then pivoted over to Karen about the list of things she’s making Ray do to keep their love alive. Apparently, it’s opening doors for her and going downtown. TMI, Karen!

Meanwhile, Jacqueline dished to Ashley about the drama with Mia earlier. She explained how Mia didn’t know where the kids were for two hours. This triggered Ashley because she could not understand how Mia was acting like everything was fine in the car. Ashley said in her confessional, “I have no idea how Mia is sitting on this bus acting all calm, cool, and collected. I’m triggered right now hearing this.” Looks like Mia better get ready for Ashley.

Ashley and Gizelle were over Mia’s hattitude on Real Housewives of Potomac

It was a hattitude party, part two, as the ladies shopped for a Panama-style hat. Wendy did her best MJ impersonation, while Gizelle looked for a “grande” sized one for her head. Then it was down to business. Gizelle told Wendy, Jacqueline, and Karen she didn’t expect an apology from Mia talking about her daughters. She said, “Mia is miserable. Mia is in her moment. This is what Mia does.” 

Meanwhile, Ashley, Mia, Stacey, and Keiarna went elsewhere to shop. Ashley confronted Mia about what Jacqueline had told her. She told Mia she didn’t know how to support her as a friend, and Mia responded with a curt, “Then don’t.” In her confessional, Ashley said, “Being Mia’s friend is exhausting. I’ve tried to be supportive, but Mia, at some point you need to take responsibility for yourself and be a rational adult and human being.”

After Ashley walked out, Keiarna and Stacey stayed behind with Mia. Keiarna said, “Mia’s just who is who Mia is. It’s kind of repetitive.” Stacey still couldn’t get over what had happened to the kids. Mia noted it was about control for Gordon. Ashley might not have been in Mia’s corner, but she had some backup. And Mia might need it for the rum tasting.

The rum tasting was rumble-free

The rum tasting was either going to bring the group together or bring on a rumble. Thankfully, it was the former. Gizelle wondered how Stacey did without her that day, and Stacey joked that she survived. But Wendy wanted to cause a little chaos, so she said, “Just so you know who Gizelle really loves, she bought me a hat.” Stacey’s eyes bugged out of her head like she was TJ’s bestie, Bugs Bunny. Then everyone had their shots in hand except for Karen. Jacqueline taunted her for not drinking, and Karen promptly called her a “bitch.” All in all, things were going well. 

The server recommended everyone start with a small sip, which was promptly ignored by Mia, who downed shots like Marion in the Indiana Jones movies. In a comedic moment, Stacey noted she tasted licorice, and the server quickly shut her down. The comedy continued as they played a game imitating each other. Keiarna’s improv skills shined as she pretended to be Stacey apologizing and Mia downing a bottle. 

Ashley decided it was time to get messy and brought up the rumor Jacqueline and Mia had hooked up with the same guy. Gizelle piped in, “Inc!” She said in her confessional, “Inc’s just like sharable. He’s like a Lunchables, just pass it around, and everybody like takes a cracker and takes a piece of ham. That’s Inc. He’s for the community.” After Mia confirmed it was actually Inc’s best friend, Wendy decided that was enough. She said deadpan, “Thank you for the additional information about your past, Jacqueline. We love that.” It was time to change and head out to dinner. 

Gizelle wasn’t happy with Mia’s off-camera apology

Mia didn’t help her cause when she FaceTimed Inc on the way to dinner. The ladies overheard her tell him she wanted to hop on a plane to see him. Stacey was mortified. She said, “Go home to your kids; Inc can wait.” However, her mind quickly focused on a shirtless TJ playing tennis over FaceTime instead. The group then sat down in a too-small booth and cheered to liberation with a double tequila shot. But the vibe was definitely off. 

Keiarna spilled the tea about her lawsuits against Deborah. Gizelle wondered how Deborah was going to pay her because she had no money. Keiarna observed, “That’s her problem.” Wendy then asked how the shopping went. Ashley said she was overwhelmed and Mia rolled her eyes. Stacey had her back, though, and said Mia was the one who was overwhelmed. Mia then informed the rest of the group about her drama with Gordon, which left their heads spinning.

Gizelle brought up her grievance that Mia had apologized to her off-camera. Mia snapped, “I’m sorry you have certain parameters when someone apologizes to you.” Jacqueline then blamed the group for adding extra stress to Mia. She was quickly shut down by Karen, Wendy, and Gizelle yelling, “Stop!” in unison. Karen said, “I think that Mia would agree she’s got some work to do to repair some relationships in this group … but it’s going to take time.” She concluded, “And now it’s on Mia to make it right. That’s it.”

Sebastian Stan & Girlfriend Annabelle Wallis Wow at Golden Globe Awards 2025

Sebastian Stan and his girlfriend, Annabelle Wallis, were totally loved-up as they attended the Golden Globes 2025 together. The star couple looked stunning while walking the red carpet hand in hand at the star-studded ceremony. Stan even gave a sweet shoutout to Wallis when he swept the trophy for Best Male Actor in a Motion Picture at this year’s awards show for his performance in “A Different Man.”

Sebastian Stan and his girlfriend, Annabelle Wallis, looked stunning as they made their red carpet debut at the Golden Globes 2025. The Romanian-American actor looked dapper in a long black tailored coat featuring white trim detailing. Stan layered the piece above a white shirt and black sweater. He paired the look with matching tailored pants and black shoes.

On the other hand, Wallis slipped into a sparkly pink gown for her attendance at the prestigious awards show. The dreamy piece looked straight out of Barbie-land and featured a sweetheart cowl neckline. Meanwhile, the floor-length skirt elegantly clung to Wallis’ frame. In addition to that, the star wore her stunning blonde hair down in waves. Wallis accessorized the look with dangly pink gem earrings, a matching bracelet, and a ring.

Later, while winning the Best Male Actor in a Motion Picture, Stan didn’t shy away from giving a sweet shout-out to Wallis during his acceptance speech. After thanking his “amazing” team, he declared his love for his partner, “Annabelle, I love you.” Stan continued, “This is for my mom, who left Romania in search of a better life, gave me everything, and for my stepfather, Tony, who took on a single mom and a grown-up kid.” The actor then concluded the speech by saying, “Thank you for being a real man. The media personality posted a series of snaps of several occasions and family photos from last year. However, Kardashian’s stunning corset outfit stole the spotlight as the socialite flaunted her teeny tiny waist in the body-fitted piece.

Kim Kardashian posted a new photo dump on Instagram as she recapped last year. The socialite captioned the post, “Found these in my phone from 2024.” The carousel included candid shots, family photos, and glimpses of Kardashian’s fashion stints. While the post was packed with several memorable moments, it was the corset snap that the reality TV star’s social media followers were fixated on. 

In the first photo of the new Instagram post, Kardashian posed in a nude-colored corset. The 44-year-old put her hands up and flaunted her curves in the fitted piece which accentuated her tiny waist. Kardashian also wore a nude pair of leggings and clear platform heels. Meanwhile, her dark hair was pulled up in a messy updo.

The corset photo was followed by another cheeky snap. Kardashian took a close-up selfie of a yellow crop top featuring a quirky tagline that read, “My lawyer can beat up your lawyer.” The mom of four then continued to share several candid photos of her kids, more family members, and friends. Besides that, Kardashian’s recap post looked back on her iconic heel-shaped custom cast from when she broke her foot.

As expected, the reality TV personality’s 2024 photo dump was soon packed with comments. While many of her followers pointed out her tiny waist, some couldn’t get over the custom cast. A user wrote, “I love the cast made into a high heel!” Moreover, several fans were obsessed with the quirky T-shirt, with one commenting, “Love the lawyer tee.”

The entire piece had a bedazzled look to it, as the gems interacted brilliantly with the lights for a sparkly fit.

Jolie’s gown was a moment. Moreover, the sheer panels provided a peek of her fit physique. The Alexander McQueen piece was also laden with beads and crystals, using a mix of gray and white for a textured look. In addition, the gown had an interesting hemline to give it an almost tattered look. Jolie accessorized the gown with shiny pointed-toe heels and minimalistic jewelry pieces. Her bling even included an edgy cuff earring that had a bedazzled chain attached to it.

Zahara’s dress took a page from her mom’s ensemble, featuring black embroidery on a white full-length dress. It tied in well with Jolie’s gown, delivering a complementary mother-daughter look. Besides, the embroidery was in the shape of a flowering tree, adding a hint of softness to the black-and-white fit.

Everything We Know About Sister Wives Star Christine Brown’s Custody Dispute

Since 2021, Christine Brown and Kody Brown have gone their separate ways thanks to an unconventional divorce. The former couple had been married for over 20 years, but Christine never felt the love between them. But even with six children, the former couple found it hard to keep an amicable peace between them. Instead of moving on gracefully, the Sister Wives chose to rub the patriarch’s face in her new relationship. And Kody enjoyed throwing shade whenever he got the chance. The two are now in a custody dispute over their teenage daughter, Truely Brown, and it isn’t going well.  

Christine Brown is putting Truely first

Three years after calling it quits on their marriage, news broke that Christine had decided to sue Kody. The Sister Wives star filed a lawsuit against for child support. Christine is also asking for full custody of their 14-year-old daughter, Truely. The paperwork was filed on September 16 and showed the Utah native formally requesting the court to establish paternity of her youngest daughter. Christine is asking for this step since Kody isn’t listed on Truely’s birth certificate as her birth father. In earlier seasons, fans learned Kody couldn’t put his name on the birth certificate because it would put him at risk of being arrested by local authorities. 

Truely has grown up on Sister Wives, with her birth being a major plot during Season 1. At the time, Kody was courting Robyn Brown, his fourth and favorite wife. Christine was nine months pregnant and went into labor while he was hours away sneaking kisses with Robyn. Kody arrived late to the hospital and almost missed the birth. Truely was special to Christine as she was her rainbow baby. She once shared, “I had a miscarriage over a year ago. And I’m not sure my body is OK. I’m not sure my body is going to work like it should. I hemorrhaged, and I passed out. And it was really horrible.” 

Christine Brown is putting up a fight

Christine is also requesting a domestic relations injunction. This was a big step for Christine as in the state of Utah, the injunction stops both parties from harassment, domestic violence, canceling or modifying services. But more importantly, the request also stops either parent from taking Truely for any nonroutine travel without a court order. On top of that, the injunction demands that Kody and Christine stop any disparaging of the other party. In the last few seasons, Truely has been shown traveling back and forth between Utah and Arizona. The teenager currently resides in Utah with her mom, but Kody mentioned that he didn’t want his daughter to live so far away. The move was a no-brainer for Christine as her youngest daughter would be around her older siblings and more family. 

Christine also hinted that Kody was absent in their daughter’s life. The Sister Wives star has shared that Kody often wanted his former wife to accommodate his lifestyle. Fans watched as Kody became paranoid during the COVID-19 pandemic. It was then the fractures in the family started to become an issue. 

Kody Brown and Christine Brown’s court case is heating up

On December 1, Kody and Christine went to court to attend a hearing. According to the court documents, both Kody and Chirstine’s lawyers met via a web conference to discuss the status of their case. Both sides have now completed and submitted their disclosure, and the TLC stars have been ordered to attend meditation, which is now set for May 21, 2025. According to the legal documents, the Utah court classified the case as Track 1, which is standard, and Track 3. However, to be classified as Track 3 in the state means that the case is a “significant custody dispute.”

The documents read, “This category includes cases with 15 significant custody disputes, including custody disputes involving allegations of 16 child abuse or domestic violence. For a Track 3 case, at the case management, 17 conferences, the court and parties will address: 1) whether a custody evaluation is 18 necessary, and, if so, the form of the evaluation and appointment considerations; 19 and 2) whether the appointment of a private guardian ad litem is necessary.” Needless to say, I imagine that Kody will have a lot to say about Christine if TLC decides to film a more up-to-date season.

Sai De Silva Is in Her Fan Favorite Era; Here’s How She Did It

Sai De Silva went from being one of the most disliked women on Real Housewives of New York to a fan favorite overnight. I’m not exactly sure how she managed this. But I have to assume she got a little help from a fairy godmother who had the newest magical wand in her hand. 

Sai De Silva is working on herself

Sai is in therapy, and it’s not about perfection. It’s about trying. And the girl is trying. During Season 14, she was a hothead who was triggered by anything and everything, especially if she was hangry. It was hard to get a word edge-wise when it came to having a discussion with the mother of two. In the Season 15 premiere, she shared with viewers that she was trying to understand why she was so easily upset by the women. Thankfully, she has started to learn to control more of her emotions and is now on a “zen journey.” 

Sai has become more relatable as she has opened up about her journey of resilience that has defined her life. Sai embraced what being an honest New Yorker was. But not everyone who watched the Real Housewives of New York enjoyed her blunt energy. Sai was tough on her friendships. However, she realized it was her love language because she was all about a fight-or-flight mentality. Sai is now learning to control her honesty. Instead of coming across as brash, it is working for her character in the series.  

Sai De Silva has genuine friendships with her costars

What is so great about the Real Housewives of New York cast, whether it was the OGs or the newbies, was they all had genuine connections. It wasn’t a bunch of women who tested well on camera and were thrown together. Sai is a perfect representation of what it means to be an East Coast friend. A great example of Sai being a good friend is the moment she yelled “Pineapple” at Ubah Hassan in an attempt to tell her friend enough was enough.

This represented a moment of pure trust and respect between the two. Even though Sai has had her issues with Brynn Whitfield (who hasn’t), she is trying to show up for the dog mom during her motherhood journey. As a Jersey girl myself, I know that East Coast love is a real thing. Friends on the East Coast often yell to show their deep, caring emotions. Sai often yells at Erin Lichy as she tries to show her how she can be better in the friend group. It isn’t a mean girl trait. It is pure love. New Yorkers are passionate, whether it be a true friendship or arguing over where to get the best slice of pizza. Fans have now embraced Sai and know there shouldn’t be any hard feelings. 

Sai De Silva opened up about her mom

Sai has been extremely open about being raised by a mother who was an alcoholic. During an episode, Sai shared, “My mom loved me, and that’s one thing I would never take away from her,” she began. “My mother was an alcoholic for a long period. Growing up and watching her morph into someone that I don’t even know. It was very hard for me.” Even though Sai was honest about her upbringing, she still talked about her mother with reverence, noting she tried to do everything to take care of her.

The RHONY star added “She would wake up and drink and she would drink all day and she’s just became this person who was no longer my mother. She wasn’t the person that I grew up with. She was just someone who was completely different.” Getting to see such a vulnerable side resonated with viewers who have had their own fair share of trauma. In that moment Sai was more understood by fans. Personally, I am here for Sai and her ways. So keep being you, Sai!

The reality star shared pictures from the occasion on Instagram, where she wore an all-black fit while posing with her family members. However, what’s interesting is that she upgraded the popular sheer trend by giving her floor-length dress a boho twist. The oldest Kardashian sister also twinned with her husband, Travis Barker, who wore a black long overcoat and matching pants.

Kourtney Kardashian proved that you can never go wrong with an all-black ensemble, be it any occasion. She joined her family members for Christmas Eve and year-end celebrations at her sister Kendall Jenner’s house. Sharing the pictures from their intimate gathering, her black fit stood apart from the rest of the family because of its eye-catching elements and a Bohemian twist. 

For the Christmas Eve party, Kardashian wore a sheer black floor-length dress, which she layered over a matching bra and high-waisted shorts. The dress’ sheer panels around the torso and the legs highlighted the star’s fit physique. The Lemme founder elevated her outfit with a black headscarf and a belt around her waist. In one of the pictures, she was seen wearing a string of chunky bracelets on one hand over the sleeves. 

Kardashian even documented several memories in the picture carousel. She shared an adorable family picture, capturing her and Travis Barker’s blended family. These included their children — Mason Disick, Reign Disick, Penelope Disick, Landon Barker, Atiana De La Hoya, who is Barker’s step-daughter from his previous marriage, and the couple’s 13-month-old son, Rocky Thirteen Barker. Another adorable photo saw the Blink-182 drummer holding Rocky as they looked at Christmas decorations.

Kourtney Kardashian also posed with sisters Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner. While the SKIMS founder wore a snakeskin dress, Jenner opted for a mesmerizing all-white gown. The photos also captured their mother, Kris Jenner, and her boyfriend, Corey Gamble, Cici Bussey, and more family members.

Rihanna’s latest all-black ensemble, which included a sleek leather coat, is a lesson in championing the cool-girl aesthetic. The Barbadian singer recently pulled up at a bar in New York City in yet another head-turning outfit. Rihanna, who was joined by her longtime partner A$AP Rocky, stepped out for the night to celebrate New Year’s Eve with their friends.

Rihanna was recently spotted in an edgy black leather coat during an outing at a bar in New York City. The singer brought attention with her entirely black ensemble as she layered the oversized zip-up piece above a tiny slip underneath. Rihanna continued to elevate the look with a baggy pair of stunning thigh-high boots. The “Diamonds” hitmaker accessorized for the outing with layers of chunky necklaces, which were hidden beneath the oversized coat. She also wore stud earrings and a huge ring. 

To amp up her all-black attire, Rihanna rocked tinted sunglasses and a leather bucket bag. The singer’s gorgeous curly hair was pulled back in a high fountain ponytail. On the other hand, Rihanna’s longtime partner, A$AP Rocky, opted for a gray buttoned jacket. According to Backgrid, the rapper wore the piece above a white shirt and paired the look with olive-green pants. Rocky also sported a black hat and leather gloves. 

However, this is not the first instance of Rihanna showcasing her love for oversized attires during her outings. A few days ago, she rocked a Tupac shirt and wore it with classic denim jeans when she hit an NYC Target store on New Year’s Eve to do some last-minute shopping. The musician topped the look with an oversized leather jacket that featured baggy sleeves. She further added a huge faux fur hat to transform her casual ensemble into a glamorous one.

Does Summer House Need a Reboot After Season 9?

Summer House returns on Wednesday, February 12 on Bravo. The trailer released in December promised yelling, summer romances, and a heated exchange between exes Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard. What more could you ask for?

While I’m excited about the new season, I’m unsure about the show’s future, especially since Carl and Lindsay spit last summer. We know reality TV stars are used to living in weird circumstances but sharing a home with your pregnant ex-fiance may be too much even for a Bravoleb. In November, news broke that the Bravo series Vanderpump Rules will return for Season 12 with a brand new cast. The announcement made me think about the Summer House crew and ponder what a reboot would look like. There are a couple of reasons why I think a reboot may be a good move for the network. Let’s discuss them together.

Too many exes on Summer House

Like Vanderpump Rules, The Summer House cast is haunted by their exes. When the series first began, breakups between the cast were no biggie. Most of the failed romances were summer flings, but as the show progressed (and the cast got older), the flings turned into full-on relationships, making the splits far messier than before.

Last year, Carl and Lindsay ended their engagement three months before their wedding. The split put the cast in a difficult position and made fans question the show’s future. Unlike VPR exes Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix, Lindsay and Carl agreed to film together the following season. The Season 9 trailer teased that the former couple will get into multiple heated arguments this season, including one debate about whether Carl was unfaithful in the relationship. Big yikes.

After watching the trailer, I can’t help but worry about the long-term trajectory of the show. Spending the summers with your former fiance cannot be good for a person’s mental health. It doesn’t seem sustainable. Not to mention, Lindsay is pregnant with another man’s baby. I know reality TV is built on dysfunction and mess but this feels like another level of insanity.

The Summer House cast is growing up

Initially, Summer House was marketed as a series about twenty-something and thirty-something singles partying in the Hamptons and hooking up with each other. The cast was always a bit more professional than the Vanderpump Rules gang but they were still young, messy, and careless. Eight seasons later, that is no longer the case. The cast has grown up a lot since the series first aired in 2017. Paige DeSorbo created a podcast empire, Kyle Cooke is a CEO DJ, and Lindsay is starting a family. The days of passing out in the pool after a booze-filled rager may be behind them. After all, Kyle is a 42-year-old man! A DJ-ing 42-year-old man.

The cast’s achievements made their parents proud but reality TV fans were less enthused. We miss the mess. We can’t help it. A reboot could revive the show and allow the OG cast to enter a new phase of life.

Not enough authentic relationships on Summer House

Season 1 of Summer House followed a tight-knit friend group spending the summer together in the Hamptons. The drama felt authentic because it was a real friend group, but as the years went on, the real friendships dwindled, and the series began to feel over-produced. While there are certainly some real friendships on the show (Paige, Ciara Miller, and Amanda Batula are adorable together), the cast chemistry overall is not what it once was. It may be time to invest in a new friend group.

I love the cast of Summer House and would love to see them explore new avenues on Bravo and reality television after Season 9. For example, if Paige isn’t on Season 4 of The Traitors, I’m protesting. But despite my affinity for the cast, I’m unsure if Summer House is sustainable after Lindsay and Carl’s split. There is too much tension. It may be time for the network to consider other options.

Season 9 of Summer House premieres on Wednesday, February 12 at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
