Biggest Scandals in Real Housewives History

You would think that when a Bravo personality signs up for Real Housewives, they would understand that their every move will now be documented for the public to scrutinize. However, even after the original show aired 17 years ago, some women still find themselves in a ton of trouble with the network and the law, and these are the biggest Real Housewives scandals. 

Most of the Real Housewives are innocent enough, either partaking in one too many alcoholic beverages or just lashing out for some camera time (we are looking at you, Brandi Glanville). But others really stuck their foot in it and committed a few heinous acts that are almost unforgivable to fans. 

Luann de Lesseps Florida Arrest

In her early episodes, the Countess of Real Housewives of New York City was unbearable and often rubbed viewers the wrong way. Luann de Lesseps came across as an entitled socialite who thought it was her job to school her c-ostars on etiquette. Between Seasons 9 and 10, Luann was forced to eat crow as she was arrested in Palm Beach, Florida. It was a very uncivilized look for the royal. 

After walking into the wrong hotel room on New Year’s Eve, security called the police on Luann, who was belligerent. The dash cam caught her outburst, and it aired the following season. Via People, Luann was arrested for battery, trespassing, and disorderly intoxication. It didn’t help Luann’s case when the dash cam caught her refusing her arrest and telling the officer, “I’m going to f***ing kill you.”

Danielle Cabral’s Insensitive Post

Influencer @krissyballs recently reposted a video on her Instagram of Danielle Cabral that garnered significant backlash.

The newest Real Housewives of New Jersey star decided it was smart to use Facetune to place her features over a black man’s body. Influencer, Krissy Eftoski, noted that Danielle thought this action was “comedy.” The mother of two has yet to apologize for her digital blackface, with fans growing tired of her insensitive social media postings. 

Vicki Gunvalson Helped Brooks Fake Cancer

Who could ever forget the season Vicki Gunvalson from Real Housewives of Orange County helped her then-boyfriend, Brooks Ayers, lie to the general public claiming he had been diagnosed with cancer? During Season 10, the Louisana native decided it was wise to make up an in-depth story regarding his health. But after Shannan Beador and Meghan O’Toole King questioned the story’s validity, fans learned that Brooks was pulling one big scam. 

Brooks eventually revealed he lied and fabricated medical documents from the City of Hope hospital, where he never received treatment. It all came to light when the hospital revealed that Brooks had never been their patient. The entire charade left Vicki with egg on her face, as she very much looked to be a part of his lie. It’s no wonder that this is one of the biggest Real Housewives scandals.

Erika Jayne’s Divorce From Tom

It is most definitely expensive to be Erika Jayne, as fans of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills learned after she filed for divorce from Tom Girardi. In November 2020, Erika announced that she would be divorcing her husband, which came as a shock to many followers. But within a month, it was revealed that the two were embroiled in a lawsuit. Tom was accused of embezzling funds from the Lion Air Flight 610 victims.

For her part, Erika has denied any involvement. However, the press painted her to be the villain, and she played the part well. She refused to give back a pair of diamond earrings valued at $750K, noting they were a gift. The “Pretty Mess” singer also failed to acknowledge the victims, claiming she was one herself. Erika’s actions didn’t sit well with followers, even if they came on the advice from her lawyers. 

Jen Shah’s Arrest

Real Housewives of Salt Lake City was the gift that kept giving. Thanks to its lively cast, beautiful backdrop, and Jen Shah‘s legal issues, it’s a show that shouldn’t be missed. During Season 2, Jen was arrested while she was filming outside Bueaty Lab during the ladies’ cast trip. The mother of two was tipped off by her husband and tried to flee the scene. However, she was caught and arrested on the side of the road. 


Jen was charged with wire fraud and money laundering over her alleged involvement in a nationwide telemarketing scheme. She claimed she was not guilty but, at the last moment, changed her plea to guilty. Jen reported to a Federal Prison Camp in Bryan, Texas. She’s now serving 6 and a half years behind bars.

90 Day Fiancé: All of Season 7s Bombshell Moments

90 Day Fiancé Season 7 aired a number of years ago, but the notoriety of the cast lives on in 2023. Chaotic couples, such as Tania Maduro and Syngin Colchester, appeared on 90 Day Fiancé Season 7 to add layers of drama to the season. Meanwhile, absolutely villainous and chaotic cast members, including Natalie Mordovtseva and Angela Deem, aired segments of their romance sagas to create many bombshell moments for Season 7.

Natalie Gives Mike His Ring Back

Natalie and her now-estranged husband, Mike Youngquist, started their first leg of their many seasons saga during 90 Day Fiancé Season 7. Mike and Natalie have aired many issues, but Season 7 really highlighted them discovering just how different they are. In fact, Mike and Natalie discovering the extent of their differences made for classic franchise drama.

However, the couple’s biggest bombshell moment came at the end of the season when Mike and Natalie’s relationship hit its (first) breaking point. At the end of Mike’s trip to Ukraine, Natalie became wishy-washy about expressing her love for Mike, and Mike took it personally. Natalie escalated the situation by tossing her engagement ring into Mike’s suitcase while he packed. At least until Season 8 premiered, it seemed like the end for Mike and Natalie.

Angela & Michael Tie The Knot

Like Natalie and Michael, Angela and her husband Michael Ilesanmi have delivered many shocking moments to the franchise, including on 90 Day Fiancé Season 7. The couple was fresh off of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, where they had broken up and gotten back together.

During 90 Day Fiancé Season 7 Angela and Michael actually tied the knot. However, this process was not easy. Angela first went to Nigeria but returned to her beloved USA after she received too much pressure to marry. She then decided to re-apply for a spousal visa and marry Michael in Nigeria after all. The couple had a surprisingly nice wedding, given how unhealthy their relationship has been due to Angela’s chronically vicious behavior.

Tania’s Flower Petal Fail

Tania and Syngin have aired many messy moments throughout their franchise run leading up to their split on 90 Day: The Single Life. The couple proved to be deeply incompatible, while Syngin has faced accusations of abuse and substance abuse. However, they unintentionally aired one of the most hilariously memorable franchise scenes upon their meetup during 90 Day Fiancé Season 7.

Tania, who was excited to see her South African beau, eagerly scattered the airport with flower petals as she awaited Syngin’s arrival. However, the airport worker promptly swept up Tania’s display of affection, as per protocol, leaving her stunned. Tania would later go on to then baffle audiences and Syngin alike when she admitted to Syngin that he wasn’t her soul mate. It was therefore little shock that the couple ended up divorcing.

Juliana Custodio’s Gold Digger Rumors

Juliana Custodio and Michael Jessen are one of many 90 Day Fiancé couples to have massive age gaps, as American father Michael was 42 when he married the 23-year-old. The Brazilian beauty is an international fashion model who has worked worldwide in photo shoots and advertising. Meanwhile, Juliana comes from a very impoverished background, while Michael was quite wealthy upon their meeting.

All of these factors led to 90 Day Fiancé Season 7 beauty Juliana being accused by both viewers and Michael’s family and friends of being a gold digger who was after him for his money. This was complicated by the fact that Juliana had only experienced excitement with Michael before joining him in Connecticut. However, she managed to win over his ex before their marriage to conclude 90 Day Fiancé Season 7 on a happy note before their eventual divorce.

Anna & Mursel’s Language Barrier

Many 90 Day Fiancé franchise couples have struggled with language barriers, including Anna Campisi and Mursel Mistanoglu. The American mom and Turkish man did not have an easy transition from online to real life, as they did not share a common tongue. The two beekeepers were therefore in for an unhappy surprise when Mursel joined Anna in the United States to start a new life.

Anna and Mursel might be a successful couple in 2023, but their segments on 90 Day Fiancé Season 7 were often awkward to watch. The couple had difficulty talking and relied on translators, while they also faced cultural barriers when Mursel refused to tell his family that Anna had three children. He eventually returned to Turkey but surprisingly came back to the US and married Anna at the end of the season.

Alexander “Sasha” Larin and Emily Larina are one 90 Day Fiancé franchise couple who haven’t continued to be well-known among viewers. Personal trainer Sasha was shady from the start, but he caused real drama during 90 Day Fiancé Season 7 when the personal trainer kept insulting Emily’s post-baby weight gain. This led to Sasha earning scorn from viewers who didn’t like his shameful attitude towards the mother of his child.

After the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Benton City Council are looking for all the help they can get. They want to revitalize their small, yet homely abode. This means constructing a new playground, hosting a variety show, and upgrading their animal shelter.

With a population just shy of 7,000 people, Luann and Sonja are on the way to get their hands dirty. There’s even a cameo appearance from none other than Paula Abdul. This double episode premiere is certain to bring the laughs, which we’re sure will keep coming as the series continues.

Despite not yet airing, Welcome to Crappie Lake has already been compared to the likes of The Simple Life. Luann and Sonja aren’t afraid to make a fool of themselves in front of the camera, in the name of making good television. After such toxicity surrounding shows like Real Housewives of New Jersey, and even the last season of Beverly Hills, it’s time for something we can watch and simply enjoy.

Taylor Armstrongs Husband Sued Over Alleged 5-Figure Debt

If you are like many Americans, living paycheck to paycheck and often wondering how to get by each month, you’re in good company. It appears most reality television stars are in the same situation. Real Housewives of Orange County star Taylor Armstrong is going through some financial issues. Again.

It would be nice if Taylor could live worry-free for the rest of her life after what fans saw her endure on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. While she did escape a horrific situation, her life still isn’t perfect. Taylor’s husband was recently sued over a big debt, and the bank wants the money.

Cap One is calling

Taylor’s hubby John Bluher was hit with a legal suit that accused him of not paying his credit card bill. Also, this comes months after the IRS slapped an enormous lien on him. Now Capital One is coming in hot. Radar has the details.

A civil suit has been filed against John. We would all appreciate it if this man could pay his bills so Taylor doesn’t have to further suffer in life. Please and thank you. The case was filed earlier in Orange County Superior Court and Johnny is on the hook for $21,456.13. So apparently when Cap One asks John, “What’s in your wallet?” – the answer is “not much.”

Evidently, legal docs say “Money was lent by [Capital One] to [John] at [John’s] request.” Additionally, the bank is requesting the balance to be paid in full. John has not responded to the suit at this time.

Furthermore, this isn’t John’s first dance in the financial woes rodeo. In December 2019, Johnny received a tax lien. He was accused of owing $468,848.18 to the IRS for the year 2014. That debt remains active.

No word on whether or not Tamra Judge will use this as ammo to bash Taylor in future episodes. Real Housewives of Orange County airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.

Jen Shah Mentoring Fellow Inmates While in Prison

Former Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Jen Shah is working on herself during her prison stay. A judge sentenced Jen to 78 months in prison after she pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud. She engaged in a scheme that took advantage of the elderly.

Since surrendering to FPC Bryan Prison Camp, Jen kept herself busy. She completed an anger management class while behind bars. I’ll bet her RHOSLC co-stars wish she had taken that course while filming with them.

Now Jen is using her time in prison to help others. The Messenger has all the details.

Jen is focused on helping others

“I took shortcuts and broke the law,” Jen said via an email interview. “I hurt people and I must reiterate that I blame no one but myself.”

She continued, “I am committed to doing the work necessary to make my victims whole and prove worthy of a second chance. I’ve learned to focus on what I can and cannot control,” she stated.

The RHOSLC alum is focused on helping others. Justin Paperny, Jen’s prison consultant, said that she is “not just working, sleeping or exercising her time away.” Jen has been tutoring inmates earning their ESL and GED. She is also serving as a mentor.

According to Jen, she helped other inmates create release plans and taught workout classes. She even created a play with her fellow inmates, aptly titled Real Housewives of Bryan.

“Jen has adopted a positive attitude in a difficult situation. Her focus on personal growth, building strong relationships, and helping others is a testament to her resilience and strength of character,” Justin said.

Alas, Jen’s actions are not totally altruistic. “She is pursuing educational opportunities to advance her release. By actively participating and successfully completing educational programs, she may increase her chances of earlier release or other benefits,” Justin explained.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to earn a second chance. I know some people doubt my sincerity and commitment,” Jen explained. Truth!

“I can only control what I do daily and how I prepare for my life after federal prison,” she added.

Signs That Tom Sandovals Pump Rules Fame Is Going Away for Good

Let’s face it, Tom Sandoval of Vanderpump Rules may soon be wearing out his 15 minutes of fame. After Season 10’s rollercoaster of emotions storyline, thanks to Scandoval, it looks like supporters and Bravo fans are tired of the singer’s antics and are looking to get off the merry-go-round. For years, Tom was actually thought to be the number one guy at SUR. Look at his competition, Jax Taylor and Tom Schwartz, not the best prizes to be won at the State Fair. 

After his affair with Raquel Leviss was revealed, the Tom Tom co-owner quickly fell from grace with no help to ease the hard landing back into reality. Bravo followers, if anything, are loyal to a fault. Once they heard how hurt Ariana Madix was, there was no chance of redemption for Tom. 

Tom Loves His Band

More than anything in the world, Tom loves his cover band that he formed almost a year ago. The lead singer of the Tom Sandoval & The Most Extras has been throwing numerous resources into his hobby, including time and money. Tom had planned a May Flower Tour for, you guessed it, the month of May. The Vanderpump Rules star’s goal was to tour cities around the United States and share his vocals with his fans. 

However, after his cheating scandal, ticket sales plummeted, and his fans were nowhere to be seen. Instead, Tom was often heckled while on stage. Many followers still chose to go to the gigs. However, instead of cheering him on, they documented moments when he sang badly or even when his own bandmate checked out during a set to look at their phone. What little rockstar power Tom thought he might be receiving quickly dried up.

Tom Is a Loner Now

With Vanderpump Rules Season 11 officially starting to film, no one from the cast is currently speaking with Tom. Even his best friend, Tom Schwartz, noted that he needed to take a step back from his toxic friendship. The bartender also has been MIA from the first few episodes in order to film another reality TV show.

TMZ shared that Tom is actually filming Fox’s Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test. The show centers around how training for the elite forces like the Navy Seals would go if one of the reality stars were an actual recruit. Based on the UK’s SAS: Who Dares Wins, the series allows participants to tell their side of the story and essentially redeem themselves. However, Tom may have missed the boat for absolution. 

Tom Is a Known Gaslighter

The Vanderpump Rules Season 10 reunion didn’t do Tom any favors. Especially since even though they agreed not to, Raquel broke down and told the truth about their timeline. The former beauty pageant contestant shared that Tom had coached her on what to say in hopes of the two showing a united front. But all fans could see was Tom taking advantage of another young woman. 

Even during his chat with Ariana, Tom made a series of excuses for not admitting his infidelity sooner to her, even bringing up his ex-girlfriend’s depression. Another excuse Tom tried to use for not telling Ariana sooner was the fact that they owned their Valley Village home together and that their separation would be complicated. 

Tom Is a Fame Monster

Above all, Tom chases fame and can’t get enough of the spotlight. But due to his actions, the limelight is getting dimmer and dimmer. The Vanderpump Rules star once burned bright, but like Icarus, Tom may have flown too close to the sun and is now hurdling toward Earth at warp speed. No matter what Tom does to rectify his past, it will always haunt him. Not only are Tom’s choices affecting him, but they are also affecting his business partners and employees, as fans are aiming to boycott his bars. 

The big question remaining is, did Bravo know about the affair, and was the information used in a calculating move to keep Tom’s storyline fresh? If it turns out that Tom, in fact, played a bigger part in planning the tryst, there is no way he will be able to stay famous. In fact, after not being on the show for a season or two, viewers will even start to question, “Tom, who?”
