Vanderpump Rules Season 9 Reunion Part 2: Give Them A Million Excuses

Is anyone else still reeling from part one of the Vanderpump Rules reunion? Time stood still when Raquel Leviss handed James Kennedy back the engagement ring. The entire thing was incredibly uncomfortable to watch, but GREAT TV. Nobody in the room saw it coming. The announcement catches everyone off guard, and it’s going to be a moment remembered for many years to come.

Once Upon A Tom

Things immediately pick back up in the middle of Tom Sandoval’s war of words with Katie Maloney. These two don’t mesh whatsoever. They never will. However, it gets sickening watching Tom Schwartz attempt to silence his wife. He never really allows her to speak her mind.

Raquel apologizes to Katie for going on TV and saying she’s bored with her life. In all fairness, Katie’s not trying to have Schwartz out there making stupid decisions that could harm her in the future. Whatever happens to him, happens to her. It’s as simple as that.

Ariana Madix chimes in that it’s bullshit, but she’s not married, so why is she even commenting. It’s not going to affect her the same way it would Katie. She has no real legal ties to Sandoval. If he goes and loses everything, at the end of the day, she’s still going to be safe. Sometimes she comes off like a know it all, and it gets aggravating to watch.

As of now, Katie continues to have zero involvement with the bar. I get why he doesn’t want her involved. That’s messy as hell. If things go south, it can cause a litany of issues down the line. It’s best to steer clear of that sort of mishap entirely because it’ll make it much worse.

Raquel Nose Best

Raquel defends her decision to get a nose job which was quite the hot topic this season. Her nose looks incredible now and looked good before too. It was a bit perplexing that she feels such a desire to alter herself like that. Although, if that’s what makes her feel more confident, then all the power to it.

James tries to explain his urging Raquel to avoid the surgery. He felt she looked beautiful the way it was, so she didn’t need to go under the knife. However, his delivery (as per usual) was dreadful and made things a whole lot worse. It was coming off like such a douchebag at points this season.

James loses his cool while being forced to defend himself for comments during the season. Stating that Raquel would leave him if his face was ever messed up stirred up so much trouble. He’s referring to plastic surgery, but people like Scheana Marie have to take it to a deep level about him getting disfigured in an accident. What’s the point of going to such extremes? The man is already in a volatile emotional state. Why poke the bear?

I don’t know why everyone takes such great pleasure in provoking him. Brock Davies & Scheana are doing it the most at this reunion. Worry about your shitty relationship with your opportunistic man, and leave James alone.

Raquel cites James’ explosive temper as a big issue leading to her family’s dislike of him. James fires back and discusses her father getting drunk on Thanksgiving and having a go at him over hiking boots. It seems odd to focus on something so trivial. Why so negative?

No matter what James does to better himself, he’s never going to be liked by her family. It sucks because you can only do so much before you crack. If they’re not willing to accept him for who he is, it makes it impossible for them to have a successful and healthy relationship. It’s a stressor that’ll always remain present.

James doesn’t think anyone in Raquel’s family ever really accepted him. He was seemingly trying his best to be a better man for her. However, there’s something behind the scenes that we don’t know about. I don’t want to further speculate on what that could be, but it’s obvious.

Brocky Road To Freedom

The first time Brock met Scheana, he allegedly had no idea who he was. I don’t believe that for a damn second. What a load of BS. I can’t take this man seriously anytime he opens his mouth.

Brock explains himself regarding his lack of child support payments. He argued with his ex about having access to the kids, and when she received government support, he started paying. Eye roll. Let’s not lie here. Holy shit, this man is full of it. Get a job.

Brock’s still not in contact with his children. He’s been paying child support for years now, so what’s the hold-up? Things don’t add up when it comes to Brock’s family situation. Obviously, anything coming out of my mouth is purely speculation, but it’s murky at best. You can’t listen to him speak and not question what he’s saying.

Lala Kent says looking back, she’s not in any place to judge Scheana’s relationship with Brock. She feels terrible for the way she treated him. What a 180. At least their friendship is in a decent place. It’s nice to see something in this group not turn to shit for once.

Everyone in the group heard rumors about Randall Emmett. Nobody cared to share any of those rumors with Lala though. In their defense, if anyone tried to share with her what they knew, she’d bite their heads off. She didn’t want to know. It’s easy for her to say the opposite now.

Lala claims she first learned about Randall’s alleged betrayal when Katie told her about the photos. She thought he was loyal to her, but it’s clear that wasn’t the case. Tough to watch.

It doesn’t surprise Raquel. She knew Lala as Randall’s mistress, so it was history repeating itself. Lisa Vanderpump says “sometimes the way you get them is the way you lose them”. What an accurate statement!

Why does Brock keep interrupting Lala? Let the woman speak. There’s no reason to chime in after every single world. There’s a part of Lala’s speech that sounds disingenuous, but let her have the floor. We had to listen to your babbling about why you don’t see your children.

Rude Engagements

Brock’s desire to have a free wedding for him and Scheana is gross. To go further than that, why is he spending so much on her ring when he owes so much on child support? Bro. Get your priorities straight.

Everything about their attempt to upstate James & Raquel’s engagement weekend was tacky and gross. You don’t do that. Everyone knows that it’s not okay. Scheana doesn’t understand why it was wrong for them to do. She has an obsession with having a moment for herself that it’s blinding everything.

The entire left side of the room is out of their fucking mind. Raquel’s trying to be cool about it, but picking a better moment would’ve been better. That’s not what you do to friends. Brock & Scheana would’ve gone through with everything if Sandoval didn’t back out. That’s obvious.

The lack of self-awareness exhibited by Scheana season after season is fascinating. She somehow doesn’t show any real growth or change. In addition to her, Ariana throwing a fit because Katie says she doesn’t care about engagements and weddings is hilarious. Is it not the truth? When has any of that ever excited her? She gets so mad she throws the ear piece for Lala’s communication on the floor. Sure, let’s end the reunion by acting like a toddler.

Married At First Sight Recap: – Bliss, Brunches and Brawls…Oh My!

The five newly Married At First Sight couples spend their first night together. Then each spouse meets with their new friends and in-laws to get more insight on their new spouse. Things definitely get a little more interesting. I knew things start to heat up on the honeymoon, but I just didn’t expect it to happen as soon as the group lands. People are starting to let their true personalities show and it’s not always well received. One thing that is apparent, the experts haven’t stopped including a toxic person every season. I will let you guess who that person is in this cast.

One bride refuses to interact with her husband. A groom is left sad and confused when his realizes his marriage may have ended before it even starts.  A couple is excluded from the group, when there is an argument with another couple.  Let’s get straight into the recap!

Noi and Steve

Noi gets emotional while speaking with Steve’s parents. She was impressed with her husband’s openness to wearing her traditional garb at their wedding. His father pulls no punches when he asks her thoughts about his son being unemployed. Noi takes it in stride and responds that she is sure they will get on the same page. Steve is grilled by Noi’s brother about everything from career, finances and children.  Right now, these two are definitely in the exciting phase of a new relationship. I know Noi values stability while Steve is a bit more adventurous. He seems confident he will start working, at least in a freelance capacity. But for someone who values travel and experiences, I don’t see him sitting a desk for too long. But who knows, maybe they will find a way to both compromise.

Alyssa and Chris

Chris is still confused as to what he could have done to cause his wife to be so uncomfortable with him. When they arrive to their hotel room, he tries to speak more about the situation, but Alyssa declines. Talk about awkward! Wow, this is so unfair to keep this guy in the dark. Nothing was said at the wedding that should have upset her so much to treat him this way. Honestly, I think she is just doing this because she isn’t comfortable staying the night with the stranger. Why not tell him this, rather than have him wonder what he did wrong the entire night.

In a post interview, Chris shares that he and Alyssa spoke off camera, the night before. When he questioned her further, she admits they just don’t “vibe.” The next day, they speak again on camera and he accuses her of checking out. Duh! I don’t know any other way to describe it. Things get messy when clips are shown of her talking about her expectations. In one clip she talks about liking nice teeth and then they show Chris’. The shade, Lifetime! I think it’s pretty apparent that she isn’t attracted to him.  Alyssa is looking for any reason to take a step back. But she claims she is willing to see how things go, no matter the outcome. I call bs! If you aren’t open to truly getting to know someone despite their looks, why audition for this show?

I feel so bad for Chris. He had to go meet with Alyssa’s family and tell them that he was just told by his wife she only wanted to be friends. Her mom seems saddened by the news and encourages him to remain hopeful.  Meanwhile, Alyssa meets with his mom and friends and acts as if everything is okay. Sigh! I really don’t like this woman, at this point. She isn’t taking this process seriously, at all. Everything about him seems to annoy her, despite him trying so hard to make her comfortable.

After being ignored since the wedding, Chris tries once again to see if his “wife” is willing to act like she is married to him. He is beyond frustrated that they have only spent a total of forty minutes together. She isn’t even willing to share a room for the honeymoon. He confronts her on her unwillingness to give him a chance. He knows she is disappointed by the match and just has given up. She denies everything and storms off, when he says that she isn’t telling the truth.  She is even mad that he didn’t lie to her mother about the state of their relationship. SMH… Why the hell did the experts pick this woman?  Why do these abusive people keep being allowed on this show? It seems like every season there is a person like this who gets off on humiliating their spouse.

Katina and Olajuwon

Olajuwon meets with Katina’s family and starts off the conversation with telling them he needs to work on cuddling. Sigh1 One of her male friends gets right down to business and wants to understand his intentions. This friend definitely has Katina’s back because he isn’t letting Olajuwon bs his way through the conversation. Meanwhile, she meets with her husband’s biggest cheerleader who passes on the title to her.

As soon as the couples land in Puerto Rico there is an incident with Lindsey. According to Olajuwon he was approached by her on whether he knew Spanish. He tells her he doesn’t speak Spanish fluently, so he is just going to speak English. Lindsey proceeds to tell him he should speak Spanish since it’s the native language to which he responds “worry about your husband.” Due to the spat, Lindsey and Chris take a bus alone rather than ride with the other couples. Honestly, that is such a stupid thing to fight about. I’m not sure how the conversation escalated, but it seems like it could have been easily avoided.

Lindsey and Mark

On their first night together, Mark opens up to Lindsey about his mother’s depression. She listens and appreciates his that he was comfortable to be so vulnerable with her. The next morning, they continue getting to know each other. Later, she meets with her hubby’s family to gain more insight about him.  Chris’ family gives her some tips, but ultimately they love that her personality will help to open him up.

Mark receives a Lindsey survival kit from her friends and family. Lmao! Although they love her, they are very candid with him about needing to reel her in at times. I can definitely see how her in your face personality could be a lot at times. But, I really like that she is unapologetically herself. I don’t know how that will affect their marriage, but right now Chris seems up for the challenge.

Once they arrive at the hotel, Lindsey is still very upset about her interaction with Olajuwon. She feels like they were joking and things went too far.  Mark decides to try to de-escalate the situation and goes to meet the other couples. Olajuwon immediately apologizes to him and agrees to move on. Katina isn’t as forgiving. She will continue to be cordial, but doesn’t want to interact with Lindsey for too long. Geesh! Did something else happen beyond what was said? I would think this could be easily resolved.

Mark returns to the room and gives Lindsey a version of events from the peace meeting that may not exactly be accurate. In other words, he came back with a much nicer version. But I appreciate he wanted to make sure his wife feels comfortable and understands how her actions led to the events that took place. I have a feeling that he may have a lot more of these types of conversations in store for him during this marriage.

 

Jasmina and Michael

Jasmina sits down with Michael’s family and she seems to fit right in. If I wasn’t paying attention, I would think she was with her own family. But within the conversation, a few red flags come up. Michael sometimes can think the worst and Jasmina has only been in long distance relationships. Both can be a recipe for disaster down the road, if they don’t learn to compromise and communicate. Meanwhile, Michael speaks with his wife’s family. He admits that he hasn’t ever seen an example of a good marriage and tries to reassure his mother-in-law of his intentions.

There must be something in the water in Puerto Rico.  Michael and Jasmina discuss the confrontation between Lindsey and Olajuwon and have their first disagreement. Michael’s perspective is that when you don’t know people, there is always a possibility of conflict until you know a person’s boundaries. Okay, makes sense so far. Jasmina emphatically disagrees and says she doesn’t go into situations expecting conflict. Huh? In a post interview, she references his sister’s comment about him being negative at times as the reason the conversation bothered her. Sigh! Does everyone need a nap after the flight? This is such a non-issue. I don’t think Michael’s comments were coming from a negative place, just a realistic one. He also was giving everyone in the situation some grace, which could be seen as optimistic. When you take strangers and put them together in close quarters of course there will be issues as you get to know each other. To his point, I don’t think Lindsey set out to make anyone angry, she just may not have realized how her comments would affect them. Either way, it’s a little too early to be declaring war because you have a different way of thinking.

CBS’s Celebrity Big Brother 3 Cast

It’s been a few months since CBS made the official announcement that Celebrity Big Brother US would make its grand return. The hit CBS spin-off series went on a brief hiatus, but now it’s back, just in time for some great winter TV programming. Celebrity Big Brother 3 US could be just what you need to make staying at home a lot more fun. As usual, this Big Brother TV show is slightly different from the main series. Unlike civilian Big Brother, this show includes a house full of players with some notoriety either in the film and TV industry, reality tv giants, fashion world, or sports arena.

These celebrities will also only have to deal with the Big Brother madness for a few weeks, unlike a normal season of Big Brother. We’ll also get multiple evictions and several episodes a week. It’s the game you love but on a little bit of a fast track. CBS has remained very quiet so far about much related to Celebrity Big Brother 3, besides the CBS 2022 winter TV schedule, but now we finally have some major news: the Celebrity Big Brother 3 cast has been released.

Vanderpump Rules Season 9 Reunion Part 1 Recap: Public Display Of Rejection

The time’s finally come for our favorite SURvers to reunite for an explosive Vanderpump Rules reunion. This one’s going to be quite different with three cast members appearing in a virtual capacity. Tom Schwartz, Katie Maloney, & Lala Kent will all be appearing on video while the rest duke it out in person. This should make for a fascinating display because there’s A LOT to speak on.

Trouble In Paradise

All I’m waiting for is James Kennedy & Raquel Leviss to reveal their breakup. It’s going to be a reunion moment for the ages. I need my jaw to drop. Give us this soap opera drama, please. You can tell something is off with James & Raquel from the start of the reunion. There’s an awkward vibe, and their faces are giving off the impression that something’s wrong.

Andy Cohen wastes no time and asks James & Raquel what’s happened. Everyone’s confused about what’s going on and are SHOOK when Raquel announces the engagement is off. Raquel’s heart isn’t in the relationship. She didn’t want to give up on James because of all the progress he’s made, but in the end, she knew she couldn’t stay.

Raquel’s been having nightmares about their wedding day, and it’s OVER. James admits she’s not wrong about anything she’s saying. Nobody in the cast had any idea this was going down. This is one of the most shocking moments in reunion history. Three of the cast members aren’t even there yet, and all hell’s broken this. I’m sort of stunned. I knew it was coming, but DAMN I didn’t expect it to kick things off.

Lisa Vanderpump tries to get a grasp on what went down, but James doesn’t want any prodding. He says they’ve worked on the relationship, but after he quit drinking, it didn’t fix things. That wasn’t the only thing causing their troubles. A few months back was the first time they realized they weren’t going to last.

Andy asks James if he thinks Raquel’s his soulmate, and he says no. This is so uncomfortable to watch because James has perhaps never been more vulnerable. It’s sad to watch because there wasn’t a major moment that caused them to call it quits. In the end, it just wasn’t a good fit.

Raquel tells everyone they haven’t been having sex for a while. Wait for guys. JAMES & RAQUEL HAVEN’T HAD SEX SINCE TWO SUMMERS AGO.  How are they going to get engaged and go through all of that but not be intimate anymore? This is a bombshell revelation that’s somewhat surprising for Raquel to casually throw out there. James is visibly embarrassed, and everyone’s floored. Everyone’s jaw is glued to the floor right now.

Both James & Raquel find it embarrassing to be dropping this on everyone after a season about their love. Episode after the episode was about the two of them. Whether it was their engagement or their engagement party, the season was heavy on their relationship. To think they were going to sit there and not be honest at first is almost unfathomable.

The Ring Didn’t Mean A Thing

Andy switches gears and asks the group about Jax Taylor & Brittany Cartwright. Oh god. Why’re we even bringing up that disastrous pair? They aren’t on the show anymore, so why are we giving them the spotlight? Scheana Marie’s still in touch with them, but Tom Sandoval’s not in contact with Jax.

James admits that he occasionally used cocaine when he was drinking. All I can think about is whether or not the rumors are true about the pasta. His admission almost opens the door to the idea that the rumors surrounding the “pasta” might’ve been valid.

In the most cringeworthy moment of all time, Raquel gives her ring back to James in front of everyone. That’s so fucking uncomfortable to watch. Is this even real life? What am I watching? An entire reunion was probably set to revolve around their love story, and now everything is in shambles.

Brock Davies and his annoying voice chime in to take the moment away from James & Raquel. He and James go at it which leads to a low blow from James about Brock leaving his family. I don’t want to say Brock opened the door for that to go down, but I mean…. he did.

After the spat James turns to Raquel to tell her moments like that are why he didn’t want to do it out there. I have to say it’s quite cold for Raquel to return the ring at the reunion. She didn’t have to do James like that. It was icy as hell.

James calls Brock a user and accuses him of never being a good friend. I know James has his issues, but James is dead on with his assessment of Brock. That’s the vibe I got from Brock since the first time he appeared on the screen. However, James’ way of getting his point across is ass. When Andy tries to change topics, James storms off and races to the restroom. Clearly, he’s having no part in this reunion.

Backstage, James rants to Sandoval about the reality of the breakup. He had no real say in the demise of their relationship. This man’s unraveling before our eyes, but ultimately he returns to the stage with the rest of the cast. Shoutout to Sandoval for listening to James rant and getting him to return.

Good Luck Charli

Amidst the James drama, Andy moves on to the newest full-time cast member Charli Burnett. She describes her issues with food and why it’s always been a triggering subject for her. She doesn’t go into full detail, but she alludes to bad things happening to her when she was a child. If she made the wrong decision with food, there were consequences. That’s hard to hear as someone who’s about to be a father to a little girl.

Andy asks Charli about the situation at the pool party when she was groped by Brock’s friend. At least Scheana quickly owns up to mishandling that. Scheana’s a shitty friend though which has been on full display with her and Charli. The way she attacks Charli over nothing is a bit annoying.

Charli thinks Scheana overreacted to their social media back and forth over her broken TV. Charli demands Scheana take accountability for the first time in her life. Damn, she’s reading Scheana for filth here. Scheana does overreact to everything. I always want to like her, but she’s forever the most exhausting to watch.

Baby Talk

Katie, Schwartz, & Lala join the group and are immediately filled in about James & Raquel’s breakup. Lala feels sad for them, but she admires both for going about this the right way. This is a hell of a lot different than the way her engagement came to an end.

Lala says she didn’t have a partner to help her with Ocean which led to her seeking outside help. She’s grateful to have women in her corner to help her take care of the baby with Randall Emmett MIA. I couldn’t even begin to imagine what it must be like to theoretically go about it alone. As a soon-to-be father, I would be far more stressed without my wife to help me. However, at least Lala has the ability to have this much help.

My heart is shattered into a million pieces listening to Scheana thinking she gave birth to a stillborn. I feel like normally that wouldn’t hit me as hard, but I’m going to be a father in the next few weeks. To think something like what happened to Scheana could happen to me is almost too much to process. I’m so grateful Scheana & Summer are both doing well.

Katie defends her decision to have an abortion because of the state of her relationship at the time with Schwartz. Things are not good for the two, so she made the decision she felt right at the time. Katie filled her family in before the episode aired, so they wouldn’t be blindsided.

Schwartz & Sandy’s

I hate hearing Schwartz talk business. He’s a great guy, but he sounds like a bumbling idiot half of the time when trying to act professionally. It’s not a good look. He needs to start taking things a bit more seriously if he wants them to be successful.

Jax was the one to spill the beans about Sandoval & Schwartz opening their own bar. It was his parting gift. I’m sure he wanted to stir up as much shit as possible on his way out. Unfortunately for him, there wasn’t as much animosity from Lisa toward them as he might’ve expected.

Sandoval’s reasoning behind not wanting Kate involved actually makes sense. He didn’t want significant others involved in the major gamble of something like this. That’s a fair point. If things go south, it could get messier than needed. However, Sandoval saying he brings money into their household was so fucking rude. That was gross to watch. Sandoval’s not God. Stop.

Lisa finds it emasculating for Sandoval to say the things he was about Schwartz. It really is. Katie’s not going to sit there and listen to this anymore. She calls out Sandoval for “being asleep” lately when it comes to the new bar. Apparently, he’s not showing up to put in the work. The next part of the reunion is going to be EPIC.

Below Deck Recap: Not Givin’ Away My Shot

Welcome to Below Deck: The Musical. Or as close as we’ll ever get. We’ve got costumes. We’ve got refreshments. And like any cast of drama kids worth their show tunes, we have inter-cast drama in the lead up to closing night. Plus the incredible revelation that Eddie Lucas is really just a theater kid at heart. With a role as Toto in The Wizard of Oz on his resume! But first, we have to dim the lights and set the stage for the performance. Ready? Places, everybody!

It’s pickup day for the seventh and final charter of the season. And Eddie wakes up feeling worse than ever. After being guilted by Rayna Lindsey last week, the first officer is gutted at the thought that he hasn’t been a supportive boss. Or that one of his deckhands doesn’t trust him. So in an effort to rectify the issue, he pulls Rayna aside for yet another heart to heart. He’s apologetic and wants to do anything he can to earn back Rayna’s fractured trust. However, the junior deckhand couldn’t be less interested in Eddie brokering a peace summit with Heather Chase over the still-brewing n-word drama. Because of course she doesn’t want to resolve anything.

Next, Captain Lee Rosbach rounds up Eddie, Heather and Chef Rachel Hargrove for the very last preference sheet meeting. The primary is a realtor named Jennifer Yeo who’s bringing her husband and friends to the Caribbean all the way from Utah. Her dietary preferences are pretty specific. In that she doesn’t want to eat any type of cooked fish. Ever. Among their activities, the guests are requesting a white party, a jungle safari-themed beach picnic and a glitzy formal dinner for their final night. Simple enough, right?

After Eddie breaks out his macho boss persona to whip the deck team into high gear to get the yacht ready, the guests come strolling down the dock around midday. And this time, Captain Lee‘s letting Eddie helm M/Y Seanna for the entirety of the charter. Because of the swift turnaround time, the crew isn’t kicking off the charter on anchor with the slide and all the toys on display. Instead, the charter starts with a cart full of garbage somehow getting blown off the dock and into the marina by the wind. As Jake Foulger and Wes O’Dell rush to help the marina manager, they radio Eddie for assistance. And he leaps down to the dock, leaving the boat’s engines running with no one in the wheelhouse. Big mistake.

Once he returns to the bridge, Eddie finds a stone-faced Captain Lee, who’s very disappointed in his serious lapse of judgement. Anything could happen if you leave the motor running and no one at the controls of a super-yacht. It’s a big no-no. But rather than take his driving (piloting?) privileges away, Captain Lee uses Eddie’s mistake as a serious teaching moment. And still lets him take the yacht out of the marina headed for the Island of Nevis. Over their Mediterranean lunch (again with the mediterranean food? Do all these people not realize they’re on vacation in the Caribbean??) the guests couldn’t be more thrilled to be off the coast of Nevis. Turns out it’s the birthplace of one Alexander Hamilton. And (like a lot of people in Utah, actually) they’re huge Hamilton fans. They’re less thrilled, however, at Fraser Olender serving them “local water.”

While the guests get ready for their white party — a tacky and overdone theme in Fraser‘s estimation — the crew sits down for their own dinner. Yes, the whole crew. Which leaves not a single soul on service should the guests need anything. And of course they do. They want champagne to sip as they watch the sunset, but end up wandering the boat in search of a stew to provide the bubbly. Unfortunately for the crew, the only person the guests run into is Captain Lee, who’s fuming at the complete lack of service. He chews out the whole mortified table, warning them that such a rookie dropping of the proverbial ball had better never happen again. Or else.

For the white party, Chef Rachel‘s been instructed to serve up a “curated” meal featuring seven courses of different cuisines. But first, she serves chips and crackers for the guests to munch on. And neither Heather nor Kaylee Milligan bring the crackers to the table despite the chef’s multiple requests. This starts the meal off on a bit of an annoyed note in the galley. But things only get more irritating for Rachel as she sends up courses of Thai, Mexican and Italian food. At being served a plate of lobster ravioli, the primary is visibly displeased. Didn’t she say no cooked fish? As in (shell)fish? Never mind that you have to cook lobster. Or that no sane chef would ever conflate shellfish with a request for no cooked fish. It’s a mistake, and after three annoyingly picky charters in a row, Rachel’s sick of it. Let’s finish this season.

The next morning, it’s day two of the charter. And the morale on the boat can best be summed up as, well, exhausted and cranky. And somehow, Heather ends up receiving the brunt of everyone else’s grumpy moods. First Rachel snaps at her in the galley. Then Rayna refuses to acknowledge her as she sets up for breakfast. And even Captain Lee gets annoyed when she leaves a pirate costume strewn about the wheelhouse. (More on that in a minute.)

While the deck team sets up the guests’ beach picnic, she vents to Kaylee as the third stew braids her hair. And then, Fraser — who’s left on service by himself — gets caught in her crosshairs for coming downstairs to grab the guests’ lunch. Heather claims Fraser makes her leadership look bad when he refuses to follow a simple order. And in front of Captain Lee, as well. But not as bad as being called out by the captain for chewing gum.

All the pressure is riding on the beach picnic to turn things around for the crew. And at first it seems they’re succeeding, largely on the strength of Chef Rachel‘s food. The guests fawn over the conch salad served in individual coconuts. They love the wagyu beef entree. And their positively delighted when Eddie drives the tender onto the beach dressed as Alexander Hamilton to deliver their dessert of ice cream before heading off to King’s College. One person who’s not delighted, though, is Rachel. Because the guests aren’t finished eating and now the ice cream is going to melt in the hot Caribbean sun. Was there a mix-up in communication somewhere? She told Heather to radio Eddie to bring the ice cream in 10 minutes. Which is exactly what she did. But now the beach picnic could end in a melted, drippy mess. Next week, the season finale!

TELL US – SHOULD EDDIE FEEL GUILTY FOR RAYNA SAYING SHE DOESN’T TRUST HIM? SHOULD HE HAVE STILL BEEN ALLOWED TO DRIVE THE BOAT AFTER ABANDONING THE WHEELHOUSE? WHO WAS TO BLAME FOR THE SUNSET CHAMPAGNE DEBACLE? CAN THE CREW TURN IT AROUND BEFORE THE LAST CHARTER ENDS?

Summer House Recap: Fourth Of July Fireworks

Everyone knows Summer House doesn’t officially start until the Good Vibe Tribe celebrates Fourth of July. And that’s, blessedly, precisely where we are in the wake of last week’s dramatic premiere. We’ve got stars. We’ve got stripes. We, of course, have Kyle Cooke in a mullet. Except everyone’s favorite Hamptons party boy might not be in his usual star-spangled mood this year. Not if his screaming match with Amanda Batula has any effect on the weekend ahead…

And that’s technically where we start, with Kyle and Amanda still at each other’s throats the morning after his wild night out. Some people argue that Amanda should let Kyle go out and have a good time. Others have taken her side that he crossed a line by being out alone until all hours of the night. But either way, it’s clear that this relationship is not in the good place the couple would like us to think it is. That’s what’s so cringe-y about the whole fight. When we hear Kyle scream that Amanda is “as fun as a f–king piece of wood,” it feels like we’re intruding on a behind-closed-doors argument that we shouldn’t be seeing.

Also, I’ll say this: whether Kyle sees it or not, his drinking is clearly putting a massive strain on his relationship. Yes, to the point that his fiancée has made him to sign a contract that explicitly states she could call off their impending nuptials at any moment. If the situation is that serious, it seems to me that the most obvious solution would be to give up drinking for the sake of saving your relationship. Am I wrong? But instead, Kyle would rather pout and go for a run in the pouring rain. Once he gets back, he tries to make up with Amanda after taking a shower, but not even the sight of Kyle in a towel can sway her resolve.

While Ciara Miller and newbie Alex Wach head to the grocery store, Kyle joins Carl Radke, Lindsay Hubbard, Danielle Olivera and Mya Allen on a trip to Jamesport Farm Brewery. Over IPAs (and a seltzer for Carlito!), the newbie’s broken engagement to Top Chef favorite Kwame Onwuachi is the hot topic of discussion. She explains that she spent six years living in the Bravolebrity’s shadow, always considered an attachment of sorts to his rising star. She also confesses they found themselves living on a hamster wheel having the same fights over and over again. Hilariously, Kyle has nothing to say to this, but the inference is crystal clear. Though, I can’t say I blame her for hooking back up with Kwame a few times after the breakup — even as recently as a month before filming began.

Back at the house, Andrea Denver charms Paige DeSorbo and Amanda with an impromptu pasta lunch. Because who doesn’t want a gorgeous Italian model cooking them spaghetti in the Hamptons? This love triangle Paige has found herself in with Andrea and Craig Conover isn’t the worst place in the world to be. On the other end of the happiness spectrum is Amanda’s relationship. And Paige is ready to deliver a come to Jesus moment for her bestie. Yes, she’s supposed to be a bridesmaid, but she flat-out tells Amanda that if she feels like she needs to call off the wedding, then she should call it off. Because the drama of breaking off an engagement will be nothing compared to waking up in 15 years and hating your life. That’s sound advice for everyone.

That night, the gang gathers for a dinner of burgers. (Side note: Luke Gulbranson is still MIA. Do we think he’ll come back from Minnesota by Episode 4?) The meal quickly devolves into an impromptu dance party, complete with a striptease for Paige courtesy of Andrea. But when Kyle goofs off and accidentally slams his chair into Amanda‘s foot, it sets off yet another argument between the two. Kyle’s just trying to have fun, but it’s like he forgot he’s on thin ice with his fiancée. However, she’s not about to talk through their issues until they get back to the city. Because she doesn’t want to make the remainder of the weekend awkward for the rest of the housemates.

The next morning it’s the Fourth of July. And Danielle wakes up giddy because her tattooed chef of a boyfriend, Robert Sieber, is coming out to the Hamptons to cook for their party. And it’s actually the first real party the housemates have been able to throw since the Season 4 finale, so you know they’re going to send it. As they set up, Ciara and Amanda question Paige about whether Andrea knows she’s hooking up with Craig. Paige’s epic response? “Not my problem.” But something tells me it might become her problem rather soon if she’s intent on continuing to juggle both guys.

The party starts and a hundred friends flock to the house to get wasted while celebrating America. The only one who’s not in a patriotic mood is Kyle. Even wearing his favorite mullet! He vents to Danielle about the state of his relationship with Amanda. And the bad vibes seem to be contagious because next thing we know, Danielle’s arguing with Robert over his workaholic schedule. Over in another corner, Lindsay — determined to let loose post-miscarriage — plants an unsuspecting kiss on uptight Alex. Guess she wanted more than a hot dog? And Mya‘s trying to re-learn how to talk to boys since it’s the first time she’s been single in more than half a decade.

Also flirting are Carl and Ciara, whose unspoken interest in each other was quashed last summer by the latter’s drama with Luke and Hannah Berner. But now that they’re both single and in a better head space, maybe something could happen this summer? Andrea, meanwhile, finds himself in hot water after pushing a random party guest into the pool. Even though he lets her push him in as well, her friend isn’t so happy and decides to kick the Italian model right in the face as Paige is pouring Loverboy into his mouth. Yikes! The drama seemingly comes out of nowhere, and Paige’s shocked reaction is priceless. She’s ready to throw down for Andrea and has no problem curtly kicking the girls out of the house in his defense.

A shellshocked Andrea retreats to his bed with a bag of frozen peas to lick both his wound and his wounded pride. The cut on his nose was actually bleeding, by the way! And getting away from the chaos of the party provides the perfect opportunity for him to bring the topic of Craig up with Paige. She insists her fling with Craig had nothing to do with putting a pause on her relationship with Andrea back in the city. But the model admits he was scared to come into the house for the summer not really knowing what was going on between them. The heart-to-heart seems to bring Paige’s emotional guard down, and by episode’s end she’s more confused than ever about which guy she’ll choose…

Lisa Barlow Is “Not Proud” Of Calling Meredith Marks “A Whore”; Meredith Deleted Birthday Tribute To Lisa

What I did not have on my Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 2 bingo card was the complete breakdown of the decades-long friendship between Lisa Barlow and Meredith Marks. Aside from Bad Weather duo Heather Gay and Whitney Rose, Meredith and Lisa seemingly had the most solid friendship of the group. But like Jen Shah’s life when the feds came looking for her at Beauty Lab, that’s all come crashing down. Consequently, the rift between Lisa and Meredith started after Jen’s arrest. Meredith wanted to cut all ties with anyone and everyone who was part of the Shah (Support) Squad. Meanwhile, Lisa was doing what she does best — playing both sides and trying to navigate a messy middle ground.

In the teaser for next week’s RHOSLC, Lisa has a hot mic moment that completely broke the internet. In the scene, Lisa storms away and slam a door, so we can’t see her. But her words about her one-time BFF are loud and clear.  “Meredith can go f–k herself. I’m done with her. I f–king hate her. She’s a whore. She’s f–ked half of New York,” Lisa says. To make things more awkward, Lisa was a guest star on Watch What Happens Live immediately after the moment aired. To no surprise, fans had questions about the moment.

One fan called in to ask about the status of Lisa and Meredith. The viewer also brought up that Meredith seemingly deleted her post celebrating Lisa’s birthday back in December. Lisa tried to play it cool, but even Andy Cohen was shocked. “I’m sure it’s based on the next episode,” Lisa explained. “I have a little rant that I’m not proud of. But I hit my boiling point.” Yeah, that’s one way to describe the annihilation of her supposed friend. Lisa added that her post celebrating Meredith’s birthday, which falls one day after her own, is still up. Yikes.

Something tells me after watching Meredith’s complete disengagement from Jen Shah that her friendship with Lisa has no chance of survival. Even if she did have a few rendezvous in NYC when she and Seth Marks were in a rocky spot and took a break. Lisa may be the pot calling the kettle black when she refers to the Bad Weather duo stirring the pot and contradicting themselves.

Heather Gay Defends Whitney Rose’s Rebrand; Says Whitney Is “A Smart, Smart Business Lady”

Did it all start with Sonja Morgan’s toaster ovens?  Long gone are the days where the Real Housewives of New York star was trying to organize the business venture.  She went as far as to present a prototype on the show in 2016, but the project was halted.  Currently, Sonja is not sure if or when she will continue with it.

RHONY fans wondered whether it was all for a story line, because the whole endeavor seemed so disjointed.  Sonja, of course, was just functioning in her own disorganized, chaotic manner and it was entertaining reality TV fodder at the very least.

Nowadays, it seems like everyone has to come up with some business venture.  Real Housewives of Potomac stars Wendy Osefo and Karen Huger are competing in the candle and home fragrances market.  Gina Kirschenheiter started a skincare line on the Real Housewives of Orange County, and one state over, Whitney Rose is representing Real Housewives of Salt Lake City in the same market.

In real time, these business ventures seem to be doing well. But these ladies are onscreen bumbling through business meetings, unaware of basic financials and the direction of their business.  Let’s chalk that up to story lines and editing, because despite what has been shown on Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, Whitney’s business is booming.  Or so says her cousin, Heather Gay.

On the Second Season of RHOSLC, Whitney revealed the dire financial risks she had taken to rebrand her Iris + Beau business into Wild Rose Beauty. “When I say everything is riding on the successful launch of Wild Rose Beauty, I’m not exaggerating,” she said on a recent episode, “I have spent my family’s entire savings, plus some…upwards of hundreds of thousands.”  Also, Whitney had opened a $1 million line of credit to finance the venture.

With that kind of risk, one would think Whitney would be better prepared than to have a launch party without any evidence of the new products, or even a visible logo.  She showed up to the photo shoot looking AMAZING! But the products got zero screen time. Was that poor planning on Whitney’s part or a manufactured story line?

With fans voicing their concern, Heather appeared on a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live to address the issue.  Host Andy Cohen asked the Beauty Lab owner, “What is your reaction to how the Wild Rose rebrand is going?” She answered, “It’s great.  she actually had her biggest day ever.  I actually sent her a bouquet of flowers to celebrate it.”

Just to clarify, Andy followed up with, “Oh, that’s great.  So, viewers should not worry about that?”  Heather confirmed Whitney’s success.  She answered, “No, she’s a smart, smart business lady.”

It’s success behind the scenes then.

MTV Cancels The Hills: New Beginnings After 2 Seasons

The Hills: New Beginnings will not be coming back for a third season and I am probably the only person who’s sad about it. The reboot followed OG cast members Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt, Brody Jenner, Audrina Patridge, and Jason Wahler as they battled absolutely zero issues and relived drama and romantic attachments from decades past. Basically, nothing happened in its short run. But some of us (me) didn’t need story or plot points to watch. The nostalgia of watching Justin Bobby Brescia share “deep” thoughts was enough.

The cast also included hot new faces like Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee’s son, Brandon Thomas Lee, and snoozes like Kaitlynn Carter and Caroline D’Amore. But it was Kristin Cavallari’s comeback that made watching totally worthwhile. Perhaps the show wouldn’t be cancelled if Brody’s pleas were heard by MTV. The only good thing is that Spencer can go back to selling his crystals in peace, away from “the worst people ever.”

While E! News “confirms” that “MTV canceled the reality revival after two seasons,” they also report that “there may be some hope for a new show in the future.” Apparently “a source close to production told TMZ that The Hills franchise ‘will live on with new iterations to come’.”

Does this mean in the future they’ll actually get Lauren Conrad to come back? Probably not. Lauren has admitted in the past that “she doesn’t watch ‘any’ reality television these says, explaining, ‘It’s a little triggering for me’ after The Hills.”

It’s hard to tell what’s next for the cast. Kaitlynn is a new mom. Whereas Heidi, along with Jason’s wife, Ashley Wahler, have both expressed their desire to be on Real Housewives. I think Heidi would be a fantastic addition to any reality show, but I don’t think Ashley could hold a candle to the women of Orange County.

Plus, I have faith that Speidi will always find their way to the spotlight. It’s in their DNA to showcase the insane universe they inhabit. For everyone else, it’s like, the rest is still unwritten! (Don’t worry, that bang you just heard was me slamming the door on myself).
