This franchise centers on family more than any other Housewives series. But at the Season 12 reunion, RHONJ viewers saw a family disintegrate. Teresa was still angry that years ago, Joe and Melissa didn’t move their wedding date because she was pregnant. Oof.
Then Teresa called her brother a “bitch boy” before Joe stormed off stage. She was raging at the reunion, and it was a little scary. Both Melissa and Teresa admitted that they weren’t close, and they were done pretending. Wow!
Now that Teresa is getting ready to wed her “soulmate,” Luis “Louie” Ruelas, the man with the questionable past, there is even more drama about her wedding. During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Teresa revealed that she will have eight bridesmaids, but none of her co-stars got the nod. “Please guys, don’t make a big deal about it,” Teresa commented. Oh, this was going to be a HUGE deal.
Melissa found out from watching TV that she wasn’t in the wedding. Joe bashed his sister for excluding his wife. “It’s more like there isn’t any respect. My sister, she was completely wrong, 100 percent,” Joe stated.
Teresa explained that she wanted everything done exactly the way she wanted for her wedding to Louie. “I’m not her best friend, she’s not my best friend,” Teresa said of Melissa. “But do we hang out like best friends? No, we don’t, and I’m okay with that.” That’s cold.
Melissa confirmed that they don’t meet up off-camera, and she doesn’t have any guilt about the way their relationship ended up. At this point, I’m wondering if Melissa and Joe will even attend this wedding.
Teresa told E! News that she did apologize to Joe after the reunion. “I don’t know why it got out of hand. I love him. I adore my brother,” Teresa stated. “I apologized to him for what I said. And that’s it.”
As for the drama about Melissa not being in her wedding, Teresa was “shocked” that Melissa and Joe even cared. The RHONJ star said, “I didn’t think it was going to be a big deal at all. And she said she’s fine with it now.” I think Teresa has a sprinkle cookie delivery in her future.
But Teresa isn’t ready to let go of her anger at Margaret Josephs for asking about Louie’s past. Teresa explained, “I just felt like if Margaret was my real friend, and how she said she was concerned for me, she wouldn’t have been doing what she was doing.”
She continued, “My real friends that are concerned wouldn’t keep going on and on and on and she kept going on and on and on. It’s like, if someone told me to stop, I would stop.” Yet Teresa is going on and on about this even after Louie told her to stop. Just saying.
According to Teresa, all the drama has brought her and Louie even closer together. “My poor baby. I felt so bad for him,” Teresa said, “I’m glad he’s still around because he could’ve been like ‘See ya.'”
While Teresa wouldn’t say whether her nuptials were going to be televised, she did discuss her future on RHONJ. “I’m gonna ride it out ’til the end. I’m excited. New chapter, new beginning,” Teresa remarked. “Of course, I want you guys to come along for the ride. [I’m] working on myself so I want you guys to see all that. I want you guys to be proud of me.”

Well, they wanted to modernize the British monarchy and here we are. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Duke and Duchess of Sussex, will be optimizing access to their lives by working with a Netflix film crew. The duo, who stepped down from official royal duties and moved to North America in early 2020, will star in a Netflix docuseries about the life they created after leaving Great Britain.
Meghan and Harry signed a multi-million dollar deal with Netflix in 2020, and it’s time to deliver the goods. A “pound of flesh” if you will, and certainly a hefty price to pay.
Page Six described the project as an, “at-home with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex-style.” An official release date has yet to be announced. Netflix wants the series to coincide with Prince Harry’s memoir release at the end of 2022. However, the Sussexes prefer to push the release into 2023. A producer confirmed, “the timing is still being discussed, things are up in the air.”
The bottom line is Meghan and Prince Harry received a staggering amount of money from the streaming giant and are expected to deliver the goods, a.k.a. access to their lives and potentially to the royal family as well. Word is that the couple’s Montecito, California home isn’t off limits either.
Netflix film crew followed the couple during their trip to New York City in September 2021. More recently, Meghan and Harry were being filmed at the Invictus Games in the Netherlands. That footage will create a mini film called, “Heart of Invictus.”
“I think it’s fair to say that Netflix is getting its pound of flesh,” a Hollywood insider told Page Six.
Meghan’s animated series “Pearl” was scrapped last month, along with a laundry list of shows that Netflix axed in the hopes of off-setting massive financial losses amid lowering viewership. Archewell Productions was meant to play a pivotal role in “Pearl” with Meghan as executive producer. Sir Elton John’s husband David Furnish was to join her. The show was centered around the activities of a 12-year-old girl who found inspiration from famous historical women.
So while the story of a young girl, presumably modeled off Meghan herself, didn’t really sell, access to the royal family will. The couple popped in to see the Queen just before her 96th birthday en route to the Netherlands. Harry was paid handsomely for a post-visit interview where he shared some private conversations with his grandmother. He also famously claimed that he wanted to make sure the monarch was well taken care of.
That visit with the Queen scored the couple an invite to the Platinum Jubilee next month. This event is meant to celebrate the monarch’s 70 year reign, a celebration of her life of service. Presumably, Meghan and Harry plan to use the event to officially introduce 11-month old daughter Lilibet Diana to the great-grandmother that she was named after.
However, the Palace officially announced that the Sussexes will not be appearing on the royal balcony on opening day. What a media circus that would be. Presumably, palace insiders and courtiers are concerned about privacy and whether the couple will be trailed by film crew or recording devices. Because with a multi-million deal on the line, Meghan and Harry must deliver. And their main selling point seems to be unfiltered access to the royal family. Time to merch!

Ben Higgins and his then-fiancée Jessica Clarke made an unusual (for Bachelor Nation) decision in their relationship that Ben says ultimately strengthened their bond before marriage.
During an appearance on the Talking It Out podcast (as relayed by People), the former Bachelor star opened up about how the couple “successfully accomplished” their “mission” to abstain from pre-marital sex. Ben also explained how this journey made them stronger.
“There’s multiple angles to why that decision was made, right,” Ben began. “I think people hear it from the outside and they assume it was strictly a faith decision. A religious decision might be the better way to explain that. It wasn’t solely that.”
“We both believe in Jesus. That is something that is at the foundation, the corner of our life. It is what we try to have everything come out of,” he continued. “We also, because of that, do believe that sex is sacred. We believe it is something very powerful. Something very important to consider and hold dear, to talk about, to express. We also believe it’s an awesome thing. It’s a gift.”
Ben, who starred on Season 20 of The Bachelor (after making his initial appearance on Season 11 of The Bachelorette) was previously engaged to Lauren Bushnell. And while Ben had previously engaged in physical intimacy, Jessica had not. This led to a conversation between the couple to decide how they would proceed forward.
“We both talked it out and said, ‘What is the wise thing to do here for us?’ ” he said. “It was, ‘Hey, you’ve worked so hard to keep this moment special for you, and I have had failed relationships where that has been a part of my life. And so, let’s try. Like, let’s see what happens there because we have a whole life together.’ ”
But that plan had its challenges, especially when the COVID-19 pandemic began. Ben said the couple, who got engaged in March 2020, “didn’t think COVID was going to shut down our wedding.”
“So the question was, what came of that? . . . It wasn’t easy. So it forced us to grow stronger together in our commitment to each other,” Ben continued. “It also got us really excited for when we did get married. There was something very special there. Something that we were going to work through as a married couple when we had already committed our lives to each other.”
Ben went on, “Finally, I think there was a level, too, where because that physical part of our relationship was not an option, it forced us and allowed us to communicate with our words a lot easier. So we talked things out.”
Ben and Jessica exchanged vows in November 2021 in Nashville, Tennessee.
As their relationship continues to progress, welcoming children together is hopefully in their future. Ben has previously been quoted as saying, “It’s in the back of my head a lot that I really want a family.”

It turns out a winner can still have something to prove. RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 7 is the first all-winners season in the franchise's history, bringing back illustrious...The Survivor amulet – introduced during the first episode of this season – has finally reached its highest potential and has become an Immunity Idol…all of that, only to expire in Lindsay‘s pocket.
It was another stellar episode of Survivor 42, in a season that continues to push the entertainment envelope. Down the stretch, every time there seems to be a cool, chaotic scenario present itself as an option in the game, it ends up playing out. Tonight, there were a few safe choices as to who to send home, but Maryanne had other ideas and once again up-ended the Survivor apple cart. Omar, who had been this season’s puppet master, orchestrating big moves behind-the-scenes week-to-week, had his strings clipped by a player (Maryanne) who at the beginning of this game might have seemed like the least likeliest person to ever win Survivor…but who now seems like a strong candidate to become Sole Survivor.
It’s come down to this, the Final Five of Survivor 42: Maryanne. Lindsay. Jonathan. Mike. Romeo. It’s been quite a while, if ever, that we’ve seen four of this caliber of Sole Survivor candidates all make it to this late stage in the game, at the same time. I’ve left out Romeo, but to his credit, here’s a guy who was a super-strategic threat pre-merge who has simply been playing from the bottom (it’s a debate whether or not he ended up there by bad luck or due to his own paranoia, but if you want to call him a “goat,” he’s one of the better goats that Survivor has had). Five are left as we head into next week’s three-hour Survivor 42 Finale (be sure to check back here for the season wrap-up as well as updated lists of all-time Survivor Winners and Most Memorable Seasons!).
Depending on who you were rooting for, tonight either induced a massive celebration or a frustrating groan. For me, my mind always tries to make me cheer for the underdog in any situation, so while I LOVED Omar and thought he had the potential to be one of the most impressive winners in quite a while, I was SO on board with Maryanne‘s plan to blindside him since Omar was at the top and Maryanne was perceived as being on the bottom. But from the perspective of Team Omar and Team Lindsay, man-oh-man. Things seemed to have worked out perfectly! Lindsay went up against Goliath (aka Jonathan) and beasted-out an Immunity Challenge win – her second – only to choose not to play her amulet-turned-Idol on Omar. Her reasoning? Thinking too far ahead. She was more concerned about a potential Idol coming back into play the next day after Tribal, than she was making sure her number-one ally even made it there. It was a bone-headed move any way you slice it. But thinking too far ahead is something that players tend to do when they feel a bit too comfortable, and I think that Lindsay – riding high after navigating last week’s “Do or Die” challenge and with an Immunity Necklace around her neck – was feeling just that. I mean, do you know how many things had to occur for that amulet to turn into an Idol, and then you don’t even play it? Ugh.
What is so incredible about this season and this group of players though, are that they are all in it to win it. There has been no dead weight. Omar was orchestrating, Maryanne was scheming, and Mike was taking things into his own hands. Rightly so, everybody saw everybody else as a major threat to their own games.
Jonathan continues to impress me (despite how he’s fallen out of favor with some viewers), not only as a physical competitor but with his in-game awareness. Player “types” like Jonathan rarely make the merge let alone Final Five, and even this deep into the game, he loses a challenge and still isn’t voted out. It could be said that his social game is just fine, given that he was the target tonight, but other connections he has made – like befriending Mike and keeping an uneasy yet respectful alliance with Maryanne – saved him. His rivalry with Lindsay has been one of the most rewarding storylines of the season, and it was great to see Lindsay bounce back and beat him this time after losing to him at the last challenge.
Speaking of Lindsay vs. Jonathan, I think that their final showdown will of course, obviously, take place during next week’s Finale. But I think it will happen early. If you look at that game as it stands, both Mike and Maryanne have Idols that must be played next week, so barring an Erik Reichenbach-level mistake (hi Erik!), both of them will make Final Four. I see no scenario where Romeo is targeted next, so that leaves…you guessed it…Lindsay vs. Jonathan. If one of them wins the next Immunity Challenge, it is likely that it will mean the other will finally be sent to jury. It’s the ultimate showdown between two outstanding competitors. I think the odds are in Jonathan’s favor actually, if you consider that I think Lindsay is more vulnerable in the unlikely event that one of the other three – Maryanne, Mike or Romeo – win Immunity. At this point, Jonathan might actually be looked at as someone that Mike and Maryanne may want to sit next to at the end…yes, he’s been an impressive competitor, but both Maryanne and Mike would – rightly so – believe that they are both more likable than Jonathan in the eyes of the jury. Same goes for Romeo. I think neither Mike nor Maryanne would want to sit next to Lindsay if given the choice. That ultimately means that it’s not only Lindsay vs. Jonathan, it’s Lindsay vs. Everybody.
Beyond the Lindsay/Jonathan match-up, the most intriguing thing heading into Finale is the dynamic between Mike and Maryanne. Yes, they helped each other out, but they both have shown to have great in-game awareness (for the most part), so they both have to know that the other is their next biggest threat. Sitting next to Lindsay or Jonathan, each of them could make the argument that they are more well-liked. But if Maryanne goes head-to-head against Mike in front of the jury? They’d be rolling the dice as to who the jury actually thinks is most-deserving.
Speaking of rolling the dice, this week was the last chance for the “shot-in-the-dark” to be played, a concept that might have added a few extra layers to gameplay but one that never quite materialized into anything dramatic for TV. But maybe the show should give it time? The “extra vote” advantage has been around for a while, and never actually made all that much of a difference at Tribal until Maryanne‘s double-vote this week. What do you think, should the “shot-in-the-dark” be given some more time to make an impact or do you think it should be retired a la “The Medallion of Power”?
Not only has this been a great season, from the balanced tribes headed into the merge, to the great Tribals and challenges we’ve witnessed, but I’m again struck by just how great this particular cast is. More specifically, how they all seem to just “get it” when it comes to the game of Survivor. Omar, for example, was just a few days away from a million bucks, and upon being blindsided, he smiled, gave hugs and laughed about his misfortunes. Drea did the same last week. Here is a group that respects the game, that understands it, and who we all hope will make for the least-bitter jury in history. Because there is nothing that sucks the energy out of a Finale quite like a bitter jury, so here’s hoping we won’t have one.
I personally believe that anyone remaining can win Survivor (yes even Romeo…could you imagine if his “fake Idol” that was teased last week, led to a huge blindside of some kind? That would skyrocket Romeo’s value to the jury!). But because of the way it is shaping up, I feel like it will come down to either Maryanne or Mike. The best news of all, is that I would honestly be 100% satisfied with any outcome. That means we can just sit back and enjoy the fireworks next week, because if we’ve learned anything at all from Season 42, it’s that it’s going to be a fun ride.
Episode Take-Away: I thought for sure that the vote was going to be on Jonathan and that the editors were just faking us out to maximize the drama…but nope! Kudos to Maryanne for working her plan and convincing two dudes to help her deliver what is definitely one of the biggest moves of the season. If she can move Mike and Jonathan, she can sway a jury. But now Maryanne is a known factor. Others now know what she’s capable of, and all of them would be fools to let her get to the end. But with an Idol and her strong will in her possession, it may not be up to the others to decide Maryanne’s fate at all. She would be the unlikeliest of winners, and at the same time one of the most-deserving and rewarding ones. Even with her move to dethrone Omar, she still strikes me as an underdog…and who doesn’t want the underdog to come out on top?

OK. Here we are, Good Vibe Tribe. The end of Season 6. And right back in the middle of Danielle Olivera and Ciara Miller‘s reunion confrontation. (Over the latter pelting the former in the chest with a wine glass during their Italian dinner blow-up. Just in case you were lost.) Hate is a big word, but Danielle throws it out to describe how she feels about Ciara these days. Mostly because she didn’t reach out and apologize again after seeing the fight play back on TV.
I took a lot of heat in the comments about being biased against Lindsay Hubbard last week. But here’s the difference: Ciara actually apologizes. And she doesn’t need to be coached through it either. There’s no “I’m sorry you felt that way…” or any other type of non-apology apology. Instead, she takes accountability, recognizes she shouldn’t have done it, and offers Danielle a sincere apology. Ciara also gives added context as to why she had reached her boiling point at the meal. Apparently, gossip was flying around the house that Lindsay and Austen Kroll had made out, gone skinny-dipping, and slept naked in bed together the weekend before. All coming straight from Lindsay’s mouth. And there’s unaired footage to prove it.
I’m sorry. Why was this key element of the story left on the editing room floor? Lindsay tries to backpedal that she never had sex with Austen. But the detail about sleeping naked together came from no one but her. Lindsay also openly admits in the footage that the only thing that kept her from hooking up with the Charm-er was the fact that he fell asleep. So the argument is basically moot. And whether or not literal penetration was involved, there’s still more than enough reason for Ciara to be justifiably upset. But enough of this. I’m over it. (Also, Ciara admits to hooking up with Austen again one month later? Gross. Just gross.)
Charmed, I’m Sure
Let’s move on to a different Summer House/Southern Charm romance. Yes, I’m talking about the one between Paige DeSorbo and Craig Conover. And I have a confession: I love them together. I don’t care what anyone else thinks or says. I love Paige. I love Craig. Together, they are the Bravo power couple of my dreams. Drag me in the comments, Monique. It seems Andrea Denver is also a fan of the couple. Because as much as viewers and production try to make the love triangle a major plot point, he has nothing but good things to say about his two friends getting together. Plus, he got Lexi back. So really, all’s well that ends well.
There’s also the Kristin Cavallari of it all. And apparently the reality icon has an unprecedentedly talented legal team. Because not even Andy Cohen is allowed to use her full name on camera. The roommates are split on whether Craig actually hooked up with The Hills alum. And if you ask me, he was probably making it up or exaggerating in an attempt to look cool. I mean, Craig has a heart of gold. But this is still the guy who spent multiple seasons lying about passing the bar exam. Still love you, though, Craigy!
There’s also debate over how long Lindsay actually knew about the Kristin rumors before deploying them on camera as ammunition. Was it a month before? Or is Austen lying that he told Lindsay that early? Amanda Batula throws out the accusation that Lindsay loves to insert herself into her cast mates’ relationships under the guise of being a good friend. But really, she just loves launching grenades in front of the cameras. Then again, two things can be true at once. Lindsay’s still not a “girl’s girl,” though. Cue the footage of her “sexy car ride” and nipple licking with Andrea…The part of this whole thing that I hate the most is seeing Paige and Carl Radke still turning on one another.
When Carl Met Lindsay
Next, we’re treated to package about the long road Carl and Lindsay took to coupledom — failed attempt at a relationship and fingerbang included. They’re in love now. I don’t love it. I think Carl deserves so much better. But c’est la vie. One positive element of their new relationship is that it’s caused Lindsay to reevaluate her own relationship with alcohol. Which is nothing but for the best, even if she doesn’t see herself being sober forever.
One negative element is that no one in the cast seems to be all that supportive of RadHouse’s relationship on social media. (Yeah, I’m not calling them that. It doesn’t have the same ring as Kymanda.) When Andy takes an impromptu poll, everyone insists they’re genuinely happy for the happy couple. Even if it’s to, let’s say, varying degrees of enthusiasm. (Cough, cough…Paige.) So…blame it on the algorithm? Everyone just needs to emotionally prepare themselves for Carl and Lindsay to move in together for Season 7.
Whitewashed in the Hamptons
Andy pivots from all the couple updates to a far more sobering topic: Ciara and Mya Allen‘s experience being Black in the predominantly white Hamptons. It was a touching early in the season, even if it was brought on by Andrea‘s thoughtlessness towards Mya. (And now that we know who Lexi is, we also understand where his head was at when he called the newbie by the wrong name.) And once again, the conversation is productive on the reunion couches. Mya admits that, in life, she tends to avoid assuming things are about race. But even Kyle Cooke, arguably the whitest, most ignorantly privileged (and I say that with love) person in the house, explains that the girls sharing their experiences helped open his eyes to being more understanding, compassionate and aware of what other people around him may be going through.
Alex Wach also speaks up during the discussion, recounting a guest at one of the roommates’ first parties of the summer treating him like a member of the staff because he’s Asian. It makes my blood boil thinking that someone thought it was OK to tell Alex he looked like Bruce Lee. So nasty. So rude. Not only is it insensitive, it’s a downright racist microaggression. But sadly, it’s something that all the people of color on the couches have to deal with on a daily basis. Danielle also confronts Ciara for leaving her out of the discussion. But the model tries to clarify that she was speaking about being a Black woman while using the term “person of color.” And the two seem to leave it there.
Prenuptial Disagreements
Finally, it’s time for Kyle and Amanda to relive all the drama leading up to their wedding. But not until after Andy and all the girls point out how attractive Amanda’s dad is. The long-running couple in the house claim their life is wedded bliss these days. But Kyle does take issue with some of the comments his housemates made over the course of the season. Most Paige and a little bit of Ciara if we’re being honest. However, everyone roundly insists they just wanted Kyle and Amanda to be happy before walking down the aisle. Like, really and truly happy. Which they didn’t seem to be for most of the season.
When it comes to the couple’s much-fought-over prenup, they never signed one. With Amanda particularly confessing that she was more than a little naive about what it entailed. All she knew was that it had a sort of negative cultural connotation — probably from watching lots of Bravo — and didn’t bother doing her research. So now she’s on the hook for half of Kyle‘s four million dollar loan for Loverboy, yes? Andy brings up the idea of having kids. But once they start popping out little Kymandas, won’t they stop doing a share house in the Hamptons every summer?
And with that, the reunion’s pretty much over. Andy tries one more time to address the very obvious tension between Paige and Carl and Lindsay. But Paige really refuses to take the bait. Even in light of Carl trying to offer an apology for their nasty back-and-forth moments all day. Guess we’ll find out how things move forward once Season 2 of Winter House premieres later this year!

Jennifer Aydin reveals Bill Aydin’s affair lasted over two months. However, he claimed he didn’t want to get a divorce and planned a romantic Miami getaway.
Jennifer said she never thought about the affair for over a decade. She was willing to put this aside for the sake of her family. According to Jennifer, Bill’s a good man that did a bad thing.
During the season, Bill was checked out, but it was because of being uncomfortable with it all playing out on camera. Jennifer was breaking down all season because it was the first time she was allowed to cry. She bottled up all of her emotions for ten years, so this was somewhat cathartic in a way.
Margaret Josephs says Jennifer was a villain for so many years which surprised them. The illusion Jennifer gave off about her perfect life made it difficult for the other women to believe her hurt. The moment she started crumbling between them was a game-changer for the group.
Melissa Gorga says she thought Jennifer felt relieved because this finally came out. Bill was finally forced to face what he did to their marriage, and ultimately it helped. They’re closer than ever. Something as insane as this was able to give them new strength as a couple.
Marge admits she regrets her actions because of the way it cut Jennifer to the core. Jennifer’s not even mad at her anymore. She’s even open to a friendship with her. After the way they hurt each other over the last four years, it’s shocking to see that the door isn’t closed.
Watching Marge cry over the struggles of Marge Sr. because of the Russian invasion of Ukraine is heartbreaking. Her origin story is harrowing, and I can’t imagine living in fear like that. Her family was doing what they thought was best for their children, so it’s horrible to hear how the family was torn apart. So sad.
The men join the ladies on the stage, and Andy looks so happy. Evan Goldschneider’s proud of the progress Jackie Goldschneider’s made and wishes he could do more to help her. More on that later.
Louie Ruelas said he had a horrible season and felt judged every time he spoke. However, he doesn’t blame anyone in the room. The first time he filmed he was nervous. You could see that. There was so much circulating around about him, so there was a lot to speak on. That’s what you sign up for when you enter into the world of someone like Tre.
Frank Catania reveals that David Principe was hurt by the breakup. Dolores Catania flips out when Frank says Dolores’ new man looks like Buzz Lightyear. She almost smacked the teeth out of his mouth when he said that.
There’s some tension between Frank and her new man because of their closeness as exes. Frank’s not used to anyone questioning that dynamic. She’s pissed though. She’s upset at the jokes Frank’s making, and I feel like he’s going to hear about it later.
Andy asks Louie about THE video, and Louie admits he did in fact make an intention to that woman. He claims he was asked by the men at the retreat to do that. Marge says she was only trying to help him flip public opinion, but Tre wouldn’t let her do so. She wouldn’t let her do anything of the sort.
Everyone accepts Louie’s explanation of the video which makes you wonder he didn’t do so prior. He was able to easily explain everything, so it’s weird that Teresa would never let him speak or explain himself. All of her drama with Marge could’ve been avoided if she let him be his own man.
Louie thanks Margaret for not wanting anything bad to happen to him. Teresa disagrees with everything because of course she wants to fight. Tre hears it and says Louie’s a nice and forgiving man.
Evan says the turning point for Jackie and her recovery was one of their children noticing it. Thankfully things are improving, and that’s all you can ask for. Thank goodness.
Bill says everyone in the world finding out about the affair was difficult. However, it’s hard to understand why he’d agree to do the show if he had this skeleton in his closet. He’s somewhat glad the secret finally came out, and he doesn’t like the narrative that he doesn’t defend his wife.
Jennifer gets pissed at the insinuation of Bill that Joe Gorga was entitled to his opinion. Melissa says Jennifer asks for everything that happens to her. I know she has a razor-sharp tongue, but that is taking it a step too far.
Dolores called Jennifer a f***ing c**t which was unexpected. Jennifer feels like Dolo played a role in Frank revealing Jen was digging. She’s demanding Bill clear the air and reveal what went down.
Louie reveals he’s been let go from the company he founded as a result of the negative press. For some reason, Tre’s blaming Marge though. She wants it to be her fault so bad. Andy tells everyone to shut up again because they won’t let him wrap this up and get a clear and concise answer.
Margaret is so done with Teresa because she’s a psycho now. Nothing that comes from Tre even makes sense at this point. She’s on the next level of delusional. MARGE DID NOT MAKE UP THESE STORIES. THEY WERE ALREADY EVERYWHERE. Teresa truly believes Marge is the one who did all of this to their relationship.

Looking back on the 2022 Met Gala looks, there’s one iconic Americana dress that took the world and certainly the fashion history world by storm. That’s none other than the nude colored, crystal dripped, soufflé gauze Marilyn Monroe “Happy Birthday Mr. president” gown, borrowed from Ripley’s Believe It or Not and worn by Kim Kardashian.
Soon it will be the dress’s iconic moment’s birthday as It was May 19th 1962 when America’s forever sweetheart Marilyn wore it to sing ‘Happy Birthday Mr. President’ to a surely grinning President John F Kennedy. Marilyn would sadly die less than a few months later and while we stan Kimmy all day, mouths dropped to the floor seeing this dress being used for a night out like it was your average heirloom hand me down- Met Gala or not!
The outfit choice seemed to have fashion history enthusiasts, dress historians, Marilyn fans and conservators alike gasping from their living rooms. Discussions on social media quickly turned to the ethical considerations of Kim wearing such a historically significant garment, and who was to blame for this escapade?
People reports the costume designer, Bob Mackie is now speaking up about the dresses momentary revival and he’s not mincing words. “Nobody else should be seen in that dress”, the iconic costumer designer stated simply. Now 82 years old, it was Bob who originally sketched the famous dress for Jean Louis, fashioning it exclusively for Marilyn’s body.
“I thought it was a big mistake. [Marilyn] was a goddess. A crazy goddess, but a goddess. She was just fabulous. Nobody photographs like that.” He explained, “And it was done for her. It was designed for her.”
Kim told Vogue she lost 16lbs in 3 weeks in order to fit into the dress. “I would wear a sauna suit twice a day, run on the treadmill, completely cut out all sugar and all carbs, and just eat the cleanest veggies and protein. I didn’t starve myself, but I was so strict.” She reportedly also only wore the real dress for the steps of the Met, before changing into a replica.
Kim seemed to have good albeit misguided intentions, explaining “I’m extremely respectful to the dress and what it means to American history. I would never want to sit in it or eat in it or have any risk of any damage to it and I won’t be wearing the kind of body makeup I usually do.” She added, “Everything had to be specifically timed and I had to practice walking up the stairs.”
Having planned this for a while, she explained, “The idea really came to me after the gala in September last year. I thought to myself, what would I have done for the American theme if it had not been the Balenciaga look? What’s the most American thing you can think of? And that’s Marilyn Monroe.”
Despite the precautions, many worried about what wearing the dress could do to the material integrity of the gown. “Irresponsible and unnecessary”, Dr. Justine De Young, professor of fashion history called it. “She can- and did- commission a replica which would be indistinguishable from the original.” Dr Young explained to People in a statement. “Such an iconic piece of American history should not be put at risk of damage just for an ego-boost and photo-op.”
If you’re wondering how the dress came to be. Scott Fortner, a Marilyn historian and collector, tells the tale. “When Marilyn knew she’d be performing at President John F. Kennedy’s birthday gala she contacted Louis and said, ‘I want you to design a truly historical dress, a dazzling dress that’s one of a kind.’ She asked that it be a dress that, ‘only Marilyn Monroe could wear’.
“Marilyn stood nude as the fabric for the dress was literally sculpted to her body to precisely match every curve.” The fabric he explained, “was layered strategically so she wouldn’t need to wear undergarments.” He added, “In this case, Kim Kardashian’s measurements are somewhat different from Marilyn’s. It’s logically assumed the fabric and seams were stressed.” Aside from the measurement issue, age is a growing concern as the dress is 60 years old and materials disintegrate over time.
Looking onwards, we can be grateful to Kim wearing Marilyn’s dress for the magic it was to see it living for one more night, and for the awareness it will ultimately bring to safeguarding and respecting our cultural and historic treasures.
