Real Housewives of Orange County Season 14 is coming to a close tonight, well, sort of. We do still have the reunion ahead. The finale episode is on tonight and it centers around Vicki Gunvalson and Steve Lodge’s engagement party. That’s just so ironic that the season ends with an event centered around Vicki during the only season when she’s been a part-time cast member.
Shannon Beador uses the special occasion as a date night and she brings a familiar face (to the longtime viewers, anyway), Duff Evans. Yes, Tammy Knickerbocker’s ex. Only the longtime viewers know who I’m talking about, but it doesn’t really matter anyway since Shannon is dating someone else at this point in real life.
And then there’s a storyline that none of us are attached to: Emily Simpson helps Gina Kirschenheiter pack up her Coto house. We’ve never seen Matt Kirschenheiter, in this house or anywhere else. Gina wasn’t honest about their relationship right from her very first scene. It’s so hard to be invested in all this. Yes, people feel bad that Gina is struggling, but we don’t know Matt Kirschenheiter from a hole in the wall. I don’t want to see Gina packing up some tacky home decor and crates of metallic eyeliner and ratty hair extensions.
We will get to see the awkward tension between Braunwyn Windham-Burke and her mom, the Great Value Betsy Johnson, better known as Dr. Deb. The mother/daughter duo continues to skirt around their issues with some weird yoga session tonight. Am I the only one who just isn’t here for Dr. Deb? She tries way too hard for someone who has no shot at holding an orange. If Braunwyn returns, production needs to majorly cut down on Dr. Deb’s screentime.
Emily gets a surprising medical diagnosis, which I’m assuming has something to do with her recent hip surgery. Hopefully, it’s nothing more serious.
And, of course, the big event of the episode is Tamra Judge’s meltdown at the sight of Kelly Dodd. I mean, the big event of the episode is Vicki and Steve’s engagement party. Tamra actually runs away in the preview, giving me flashbacks to Tamra’s meltdown in Bali. Classic.

It feels like a whole lifetime ago to remember this, but technically, Lisa Rinna joined Real Housewives of Beverly Hills as a friend of Lisa Vanderpump’s. She knew Kyle Richards too, but LVP was the “in” they sold us on the show itself. Meanwhile, we all know that she signed on to sell more of those Lisa Rinna dusters on QVC.
From that point on Lisa and Lisa were frenemies at best, going back and forth with their playful jabs. At worst, they accused each other of some bad things and continually shaded each other in the most public ways possible. That’s why it’s super surprising that Lisa Rinna’s husband Harry Hamlin has nothing but good things to say about Lisa. Don’t come for us, Stans. What I’m saying is that I just assumed Harry would go along with his wife’s opinion, but he actually has very opposite thoughts. And it’s just nice to read something, well, kind for a change.
In a recent interview with The Daily Beast, Harry remarked, “I’ve always been very fond of Lisa and [her husband] Ken [Todd]. I’m very fond of them both, and delighted by them both, whatever issues they had with other people.” And by “other people,” he does mean his own wife. That is either incredibly evolved and mature or, on the other hand, it could be viewed as insensitive toward his wife.
Nevertheless, Harry never seemed to care about the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills drama. He makes minimal appearances on this show just to make Lisa happy. He has no interest in getting involved in the drama and that’s actually pretty refreshing.

Sometimes a Real Housewife brings an entertaining relative with her; i.e. Teresa Giudice and her daughter Milania, Tinsley Mortimer and her mom Dale Mercer, and Melissa Gorga’s husband Joe Gorga. Other times, the “extra” people are just not needed. I may be in the minority, but I’m not craving additional scenes with Kyle Richards‘ friend Faye Resnick, the Kandi-coated clique, or Tamra Judge’s son Ryan Vieth. I’m not gonna lie I feel the same way about Braunwyn Windham-Burke’s mom Dr. Deb. And considering the tension between the two of them and the constant unfollowing and then following each other on social media, Braunwyn is picking up what I’m laying down. At least sometimes.
Someone else who doesn’t want Dr. Deb around is a shop owner in Mexico. Dr. Deb was accused of stealing 5,000 pesos worth of merchandise, which is about $264 given the current exchange rate.
A woman posted security footage of Dr. Deb along with these words: “We need your help!
This lady and her husband came today at 6pm to my mother’s store and left without paying a total of 5,000 pesos, the store was packed and she got confused and a minutes later when she found out they left without paying, they were nowhere to find. If anyone knows them please let me know.”
It’s not as if Dr. Deb’s look is low key. She wasn’t able to lay under the radar for long with her colorful locks. Real Housewives of Orange County viewers recognized her and said so in the comments.
However, Dr. Deb had a different story when an Instagram user asked about it. We typed up her (poorly punctuated) explanation and blurred out the Instagram user she responded to. Dr. Deb claimed, “We were vitcims to a common scam where they take your credit card pretend to run it while they distract you, follow you back and get soem family to post things on social media to shame you, and get their family on the police foce to back them up, and use intimidation.” That sounds so elaborate. Not that I’m in into criminal activity, but what does the store have to gain from this public humiliation? Sure, they can sue and get some money (maybe). However, this just seems so elaborate. Why not just overcharge on a credit card swipe?
Dr. Deb continued, “Luckily we had a lot of support from the local people in town that knew the store and the scam, we only lost $40 instead of $500 they were demanding for a few pillow cases we had purchased- lesson here- always have them HAND YOU THE RECEIPT! Don’t turn your back and have them tell you it’s in the bag! Always ask for you receipt!”
That is…well, interesting. I’m looking forward to seeing the comments section on this one and Dr. Deb’s explanation about this “common scam.”

Lisa Rinna was the first famous actress to join the Real Housewives universe. This changed the game for sure. She definitely paved the way for Denise Richards and Garcelle Beauvais. Sorry Kim and Kyle Richards, but you weren’t exactly household names from childhood acting roles and being Paris Hilton’s aunt. Then again, Rinna wasn’t necessarily an A-list star, but anyway, my point is that it was an unexpected move and a bit of a risk when she joined the cast of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
Her husband Harry Hamlin wasn’t down for her delving into reality TV, not that we necessarily see much of him outside the occasional pie baking and family barbeque. He was afraid of the reality TV divorce curse, which is a fair thing to fear when he had already been divorced twice.
In an interview with The Daily Beast, Harry admitted that his first response when Lisa mentioned RHOBH was “I have my divorce lawyer on speed dial, and I do.” Apparently, he even moved his phone toward the interviewer to demonstrate that this is true.
Harry elaborated, “I have had three opportunities to use him; once with Ursula, and two of my ex-wives. It’s the same guy every time. We send Christmas cards to each other every year.” By “Ursula,” he is referring to Ursula Andress, someone he never actually married, but has a child with, hence the need for a lawyer.
Harry recalled, “I said to Lisa, ‘You can’t do this. Everybody who does that show gets divorced. It’s a horrible, horrible thing, to do that show.’”
That’s when Lisa brought in Bethenny Frankel, who also did this show and got divorced. Is that a coincidence? You be the judge. Harry shared, “Bethenny convinced me from a branding point of view it would be a good thing to do. Then I was open to doing it on my own terms.” And he barely films. As I said, we see him for one meal scene and a pep talk per season and then Lisa just does her own thing the rest of the time.

We all saw that video circulating on Instagram this past weekend, but now Robyn Dixon has officially confirmed that she and Juan Dixon are engaged, again. Real Housewives of Potomac viewers recall that they were pulling a Dolores and Frank Catania during Season 1: living together as exes. However, the Catanias were not sleeping in the same bed.
Slowly, their relationship shifted from just being co-parents to something more romantic. Before RHOP got started, Juan and Robyn divorced following infidelity on his part. However, the RHOP viewers didn’t see any of that. Instead, we’ve been rooting for Juan and Robyn to slowly inch their way back to husband and wife. I care a lot more about this than Robyn’s house flipping storyline.
Robyn confirmed the engagement to Bravo’s The Daily Dish. She told the publication, “Shocked and excited is an understatement to describe my reaction to Juan’s proposal! I could barely breathe!”
This isn’t even my relationship and I was both shocked and emotionally invested. I really thought it would take a lot longer for Juan to make this move. And it seems like Robyn felt the same way. She shared, “We had definitely discussed the topic and agreed that marriage was the next step for us, but I was not expecting it to happen so soon!”
She also opened up about the proposal specifics. Robyn revealed, “Juan gave the sweetest speech and set the whole room into an uproar when he got down on one knee! It was truly a special night and is definitely much sweeter the second time around. Oh, and he knows me well and got my ring just right!”
In an Instagram post, Robyn elaborated on the MASSIVE ring. She told her followers, “An untraditional relationship calls for a non-traditional ring! I told a little birdie that if Juan ever proposed, I didn’t want a diamond ring…that didn’t work out too well the first time, lol. I fell in love with the Pink Morganite stone because I wanted something with significance and meaning. Morganite represents unconditional love – something that our relationship exhibits and has relied upon.” She also included a wedding hashtag: #DixonsPartDeux, which I think is much cuter than #CHill. Sorry, Cynthia Bailey.
Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kenya Moore commented on Robyn’s post with some red heart emojis. Robyn’s co-stars Gizelle Bryant, Ashley Darby, and Candiace Dillard commented as well. Hopefully, Karen Huger and Monique Samuels congratulated them privately. Maybe, Karen sent over a La Dame fragrance gift basket.
Oh, and rumored RHOP addition Wendy Osefo commented and she is the one who took the photos Robyn posted. I’m just gonna take this is as another confirmation that she’s a part of the cast.
