In a dramatic turn of events on the season finale of the E! reality competition series House of Villains, Vanderpump Rules alum Jax Taylor made a shock return weeks after being eliminated. On that episode, Jax shared a surprising revelation about his wife/fellow ex-Pumper, Brittany Cartwright.
No, it wasn’t that she was finally able to make Mamaw’s Beer Cheese a household name. It’s that Jax found out she was rushed to the hospital right at the same time he faced elimination, and it turns out Brittany had a stroke.
Here’s what he revealed about her health scare earlier this year.

In a heartfelt moment with his former castmates on the December 21 episode, Jax recounted the immediate aftermath of his elimination. “I don’t know if you know, about three minutes after I got eliminated, I got a phone call. ‘Here, Jax, take the phone. Your wife’s in the hospital,'” Jax recalled, gesturing towards the Villains’ mansion door.
Opening up about the concerning situation, Jax explained, “She’s like, crying on the phone … I’m panicking. Obviously, the timing … so I raced to Cedars, stayed there for two nights. Making sure my wife doesn’t have cancer, doesn’t have spinal issues, doesn’t have MS. Turns out, she had a small stroke. She’s 33.”
Amid the emotional revelation, Taylor received a comforting hug from HoV winner Tanisha Thomas as he assured everyone that Brittany was okay following the health scare.

The couple had initially kept the health issues private, but on the April 26 episode of ex-Vanderpumper Kristen Doute’s Sex, Love & What Else Matters podcast, Brittany shared that she’d suffered a medical issue. She explained: “All of the sudden, I started getting numbness in my right arm and my right leg, to the point where I couldn’t even hold my cell phone anymore. And it got really scary because it was happening out of nowhere.”
Jax and Brittany have been working on several projects lately: making a sibling for their two-year-old son Cruz, a sports bar, and a return to television. So, here’s hoping Jax has toned down his chaotic Jaxness a bit in an attempt to keep Brittany’s stress-level down!
Jax and Brittany are rumored to eventually be returning to Bravo for an unnamed Vanderpump Rules spinoff. No release date has been given.

At the Winter House reunion, host Andy Cohen asked Brian if he connected with any other Bravolebrities at BravoCon. The software consultant confessed to crushing on a Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star in Las Vegas.
“I wouldn’t say I shot my shot,” Brian admitted, “[but] I think there was an interaction.”
Of course, Andy wasn’t going to drop it before discovering the lady’s identity. He began listing the names of every RHOSLC cast member. When Monica Garcia’s name came up, Brian couldn’t resist breaking into a grin.
“It was brief [and] friendly,” Brian admitted about their meeting.
Basically, the Miami resident just wants a girlfriend. He seems like such a sweetheart, and who doesn’t love a guy who’s so devoted to his mom (but in a good way)? Why is Brian still single?

The evolution of Taylor Ann Green from amicable girlfriend of Shep Rose to jilted ex going through a full breakdown on national television is a curious one. It seems Taylor has become the villain of Southern Charm Season 9.
At first, Taylor was given a lot of grace. Shep’s infidelities were by no means an easy matter to digest. But after it came to light that she hooked up with Austen Kroll, her best friend’s ex-flame, sympathies changed.
Taylor’s actions have taken her further downhill. From lying to her friend about the hookup, to now playing victim and demanding forgiveness, Taylor seems to be lacking any self-awareness. And in the December 21, episode of Southern Charm, she spiraled and made seemingly unforgivable comments.
Racking up apologies doesn’t ensure forgiveness. Taylor imploded at a cast dinner in Jamaica when Olivia Flowers pushed back on her former best friend’s victim narrative. Shep’s ex stood at the table and announced that she wanted to put the Austen love triangle discussion to bed in an attempt to manage her mental health.
“She still said, ‘Shove it up your ass, Taylor. F–k you,’” Taylor reacted when it was clear Olivia was having none of it.
The Southern Charm group believes the illicit duo did have sex, due to their admission of discussing the option of dating each other with family members. It seems a serious discussion, and one that you wouldn’t just have because of one kiss.
As the subject of family came up, Taylor made the unfortunate statement of comparing her relationship with her brother to Olivia and her late brother, Conner Flowers. At that point, Olivia left for her room and was seen weeping over the raw topic.
Meanwhile, Taylor went to her adjacent room in the hotel to speak with Worth about what went down. Olivia overheard the conversation, in which she was criticized for her comfy hang-outs with Austen post-split.
“She loves him then hates him. I’m the devil and yet she can go cuddle with Austen with her bra off and he’s totally in the clear,” Taylor told her brother.
She added, “It’s not like they dated. They were just never anything to begin with. I don’t regret anything. Neither one of them ever claimed to be each other’s boyfriend or girlfriend.”

After overhearing that gem of a statement, Olivia stormed into Taylor’s room.
“Are you f–king stupid?” Olivia yelled. “Talk quieter next time, I’m right next door to you! Dumb f–king bitch.”
But the damage was done. After overhearing that conversation it was clear to Olivia that Taylor neither respected her relationship with Austen nor did she feel any remorse about her hookup with the Southern Charm bad boy.
“It’s foul,” Olivia said to her mother during a call later in the episode. “I will never look at her the same.”

From separations to scandals to sad goodbyes, it’s been a lot. Here are the biggest moments from Bravo’s 2023 calendar year, and may 2024 be all the messier.
Vanderpump Rules was dying at the start of this year. It felt like even their production teams knew, as their original finale felt a bit end of the series-ish overall. Then, an affair between Tom Sandoval and Rachel Leviss was discovered, causing the cameras to pick back up. These additional Scandoval episodes, alongside the heightened reporting of this event, saw VPR Season 10 reaching unsurpassable highs, which is why it belongs here, as it was truly one of Bravo’s biggest moments for 2023.
Gary King has starred on Below Deck Sailing Yacht since Season 2. However, this year, a report was printed by Rolling Stone, where a female production member claimed that Gary had forced himself on her during filming. Likewise, several others also stated that they’ve witnessed Gary “constantly” making women uncomfortable. Gary denied everything, but as he is currently on the chopping block, these accusations were a huge event on Bravo for 2023.
Over on Below Deck Down Under, two crew members refused to accept the word “no” from their conquests. For Luke Jones, his drunken behaviors escalated so quickly that production stepped in. On-air, we watched as they removed Luke from Margot Sisson‘s bunk, protecting her from his naked, drunken pursuits. Production did the right thing by breaking the fourth wall, and we were grateful for their rare, monumental showing in 2023.
All good things must come to an end, but when it was revealed that Below Deck‘s Stud of the Sea, Captain Lee Rosbach, was leaving, it still stung. After leading from his wheelhouse for ten straight seasons, the network decided to go in a different direction. Below Deck Season 11 will now feature Captain Kerry Titheradge, who is great, but still. We will miss Captain Lee, and we hope that Bravo knew what they were doing when making this huge decision in 2023.
Southern Charm’s star Taylor Ann Green broke up with Shep Rose last year. This year, it was revealed that she and Olivia Flowers‘ ex, Austen Kroll, kissed. As Taylor and Olivia were close friends, this wasn’t cool, so Taylor handled her mistake by lying, naturally. Bethenny Frankel is trying to form a union for the next generation of reality television stars. With claims of plying the personalities with too much liquor, alongside a need for royalty payments and better filming conditions for all involved, Bethenny is hellbent on creating change. Where this will all fall is anyone’s guess. But, for the Bravo network, this could bring about huge changes, which is why the “Reality Reckoning” of 2023 is such a big deal.
Guerdy Abraira was diagnosed with breast cancer this March. Luckily, Guerdy revealed at BravoCon that she is now cancer-free. The crowd cheered loudly, which was a way better reaction than Larsa Pippen‘s “how do you know” statement on Real Housewives of Miami. We are so happy for Guerdy, and we find this declaration to be Bravo’s best news of 2023.
Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky‘s marriage is falling apart this season on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Now officially separated, their 27-year-long marriage is in trouble, despite their shared stance of a divorce not being on the table. These two are mainstays on RHOBH, and their bonds with each other and their children always seemed tight. Therefore, this news is sad, in addition to being yet another shocking storyline seen on Bravo for 2023.
For the first time ever, Bravo completely rebooted one of their series, bringing on an entirely new cast of women to film for Real Housewives of New York. This cast came complete with style, wit, and differing addresses across the boroughs. And yes, a lot of pettiness was also seen, but our new favorite husband, Pavit Randhawa, showed the ladies how to handle haters quite well. Truly, Pavit’s Vietnam trip video is still making us laugh, so for what he and these new women are bringing, we found this successful reboot to be a huge win for Bravo in 2023.
A butler on The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip Season 2 filed a lawsuit this year. He claims to have been sexually assaulted by Brandi Glanville and Phaedra Parks. Similarly, Brandi and Caroline Manzo filmed for RHUGT Season 4, where Brandi’s accused of sexually harassing Caroline. Bravo is still dealing with how to handle these two huge events from 2023, but they belong here nonetheless, because, yikes.
