Survivor 43 Episode 10 Recap: Anatomy Of A Blindside
For it being the day before Thanksgiving, this episode of Survivor was no turkey. We are watching some incredible players enter the home-stretch of a long and grueling game, and there’s almost zero dead weight. As discussed at Tribal Council, this is a game chock-full of deadly assassins. There is a precision to who is being targeted, and Jesse even gave us a three-step breakdown as to how to pull off a perfect blindside.
In the end, it was the “warrior” Noelle who took the silent proverbial bullet, but she didn’t go down without carving out a spot in Survivor history. A true champion and an inspiration all season, Noelle’s comeback to win the Reward Challenge was a sight to behold. As it was playing out, I was readying a number of complaints aimed at the show’s producers, about how unfair it was to have a balancing be part of a competition in a season where an amputee is competing. I’m sure a number of viewers were thinking the same. And it never occurred to me that Noelle would come back to win the challenge…as a seasoned Survivor-watcher, we are used to the cameras lingering on “the one who has fallen behind” during a challenge, where their story is about personal triumph, or “digging deep” to complete the challenge, but hardly ever about how they stage a massive come-from-behind, improbable and nearly impossible victory.
Kudos to Noelle for never giving up and proving everyone wrong. It was a fitting end to her story, as she has been one of the more persistent competitors this season. As the others described, every time they’ve tried to take out her allies, she has been able to regroup. But as fierce a warrior as she is, there are just too many savvy strategic masterminds left in the game for her to have been able to overcome.
On the strategy-front, some major developments occurred during this week’s episode, that set-up what we may see play out over the coming weeks, and the final stretch of episodes. One, Sami‘s game has been all but exposed. To the viewer’s eyes, Sami has played a very effective “down-the-middle” game, but revealing the plan at the last minute to Karla before last week’s Tribal Council has painted Sami a “flip-flopper” by the rest of the tribe. They’re on to him, and the implication is that the “flip-flopper” style of game isn’t really respected…Sami may not be winning material after all, unless he makes some strong and surprising moves down the stretch.
Secondly, Jesse and Cody are – as Cody says – “steering the ship.” It’s true, as they are indeed the true power couple left in the game as we are now down to just seven players remaining. But importantly, Gabler sees it. Gabler is tucked in nicely and is in my view the real person in the middle of everything. With so many big fish to fry, Gabler may just have what it takes to navigate his way to the end, and win. You’ve heard it hear first. Remember though that simply noticing the Jesse/Cody power duo is only half the battle…someone is going to need to act on it, and soon, if they’re going to overcome it. Not only are Jesse/Cody calling the shots, but they have TWO Idols. An Immunity Idol hasn’t been played successfully yet in this “new era” of Survivor (defined as every season beyond Season 40), but with a little luck on that front, Jesse/Cody may not be able to be stopped, regardless.
While Karla still has an Idol, it appears that she has lost a bit of control over her game after last week’s vote. But don’t underestimate her. Cassidy too, is a sneaky pick to go far as she’s just under-the-radar enough to become a threat…and winning her first Individual Immunity only goes to raise her profile. Owen, of all of the remaining seven, seems like the only one left who has not at all been in control of his own game…he continues to vote outside the majority alliance, and nobody seems to view him as a real threat to win.
Where things go from here is anyone’s guess, but I’m stoked that such a high-caliber group of players are still remaining. In a typical season, we’d see many of them blindsided much earlier on, so it’s rare that so many great strategic players have made it so far in the game. But something’s gotta give, and time is running out.
Episode Take-Away: This was a solid episode (as is usually the case with the Thanksgiving Eve episode), and a perfect ending note to Noelle‘s story. I love that I feel invested in the players that are left and I truly don’t like the thought of any more of them going home. Of course, there can only be one winner, and I have absolutely no idea who would be considered the front-runner at this point. Is there one? I feel like Jesse and Cody are in great shape if they can just get through one more vote, and if they don’t catch on to how good Gabler is playing this game, that could end up being their fatal flaw. Heck, it may end up being everyone’s fatal flaw, should they keep him around until it’s too late.

Out this week: Noelle
Won Immunity: Cassidy (1)
Vote Result: No advantages or Idols were played. 5 – Noelle (Jesse, Cody, Karla, Gabler, Cassidy), 2 – Karla (Sami, Owen), 1 – Sami (Noelle).
Current Advantage List:
Jesse – 2 Immunity Idols (One was Cody’s, Jesse mentioned Cody asked for his back but it wasn’t confirmed on-air)
Karla – 1 Immunity Idol
Next Week’s Episode:Gabler has a plan for a Final Three…Boatmail sends the tribes scrambling through the jungle…and an underwater challenge has players literally gasping for air. Don’t miss it!

Andy Cohen Responds To Kathy Hilton Saying She Won't Film RHOBH If Lisa Rinna And Erika Jayne Return
I think it’s safe to say that most of the Bravoverse are happy that the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is finally over. This season was intense, so heated, and so painfully tough to get through. Not only were fans watching the continuation of Erika Jayne’smessy divorce from Tom Girardi, but this season also featured a very bothersome Kyle Richards, an even more boring DoritKemsley, and an odd DianaJenkins that people were ready to be done with.
Thankfully, we had our girls Garcelle Beauvais, Sutton Stracke, and Crystal Kung-Minkoff to get us through. Showcasing their bestie status, their fashion, and just giving us light-hearted FUN moments. Everything we want to see on the Real Housewives. Additionally, Kathy Hilton returned to the series halfway through after sitting out the first half due to alleged contract negotiations.
Unfortunately for Kathy, if she thought her second season on the highest-rated Bravo show right now would be a walk in the park… she had another thing coming. Most of the viewers really gravitated toward Hilton during season 11. She brought humor and wit to the show — something that was missing. Her second run, however, would be much different.
By now, you know the story. During their cast trip to Aspen, Lisa spotted Kathy having an alleged meltdown and trashing her sister and some of the ladies on the cast. Oh, also, she apparently stomped on what I’m assuming are at least a pair of $25,000 glasses… you know how the Beverly Hills ladies are. Well, after that, the news broke about Kathy, and things were never the same.
Lisa had a field day with this all season long. Threatening to expose texts and receipts and dragging this thing out as if it was interesting to fans. I think Rinna thought she’d be able to strongarm Kathy into “talking about it” for the sake of the show. But boy, was she wrong. Kathy lit her up at the reunion and frankly, that’s the energy I always need from a Housewife. Make it interesting, please!
Now, Andy Cohen is breaking his silence on the heiress’ ultimatum.
He told Us Weekly, “Everyone who’s on the show, I want them to be excited about being on the show and have a level of desire to be on the show and feel great about it.”
The Housewives executive producer shared that it’s not uncommon for certain cast members to say they “don’t wanna interact with ‘X person or Y person.’ And so, it’s totally their decision,” he said.
If I had to guess… I wouldn’t bet on seeing Kathy on the 13th season of RHOBH. Although, things could always change. “It’s kind of a downtime [for RHOBH], which is I think important between seasons. Especially when the season is so volatile,” he finished.

The remaining competitors will dance both a redemption routine, with the input of one of the judges, and a freestyle. This finale is the tightest race in a long time. So, get your glitter and confetti cannon ready. Let’s go!
RuPaul’s Drag Race star Shangela and partner Gleb Savchenko found themselves in the bottom three last week. This couple is paired with judge Bruno Tonioli. Bruno wants to see Shangela address issues with her frame in her Redemption Quickstep. Shangela and Gleb danced to Rochelle Diamante’s “Queen Bee.”
Bruno pointed out that Shangela went on the wrong foot. Judge Len Goodman called the routine “fun and full of energy.” The couple scored 36/40.
Wayne Brady and Witney Carson
Comedian Wayne Brady and pro Witney Carson are working with Len. He wants to see a good frame in the couple’s Redemption Quickstep. This is a bittersweet moment with Len retiring.
Witney and Wayne danced to Jackie Wilson’s “(Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher.” Len said that the routine needed “a little bit more flow.” Derek called out an error in Wayne’s footwork. They received 36/40 from the judges.
Cheryl Burke is Departing
Cheryl, who has been a pro for 17 years, is leaving DWTS. She was the first woman to bring home the mirrorball trophy. Iconic! Cheryl danced a routine with her two favorite pros, Louis and Pasha, to the Barry Manilow song “Copacabana.” I’m sad that Cheryl is leaving.
TikTok star Charli D’Amelio and her partner, Mark Ballas, are paired with judge Carrie Ann Inaba. Carrie Ann chose a Redemption Jive for the couple. The judge would like to see more emotion from Charli.
The duo danced to “Grown” by Little Mix. Charli ended the dance perched on the judge’s table. Carrie Ann said that Charli “danced for you guys with her heart.” Bruno dubbed Charli, “The Queen of Jive.” The duo scored 40/40.
Selma Blair Dances with Sasha Farber Once Last Time
It was an emotional moment when actress Selma Blair and her partner Sasha Farber left the competition because of Selma’s health issues. The couple danced a gorgeous contemporary piece to “No Air” performed by Jordin Sparks.
The duo danced to Pete Rodriguez’s “I Like It (Like That.)” Derek said that Gabby “redeemed that cha cha.” Len loved their chemistry and technique. They received a score of 40/40.
Len was tapped to judge DWTS three days before the show premiered. He remarked, “All good things have to come to an end. For me, it was such a privilege being a part of Dancing with the Stars.” Len was thrilled to do the twist with Chubby Checker and to watch Buzz Aldrin and Sugar Ray Leonard dance on the show. Host Alfonso Ribeiro presented Len with his own mirrorball trophy. Len was ecstatic! I am so bummed out to see him leave.
Later on, former cast members thanked Len and recalled their favorite memories in a video package. The judges also weighed in.
The Freestyle Round
Next up is the most anticipated dance of the season. Viewers will see the contestants exhibit their creativity and see how much they have grown as a dancer. So, whose freestyle is going to be epic? Let’s find out!
Wayne and Witney
The couple danced their freestyle to “Get Up /24K Magic” by Ciara ft. Chamillionaire/Bruno Mars. Their routine was funky and entertaining to the max. Derek called it “a perfect freestyle.” Carrie Ann called it “ridiculous” and said that Wayne was holding out on them. The couple scored 40/40.
Charli and Mark
The duo performed their freestyle to Pinar Toprak’s “Us Again.” The routine is about the duo falling back in love with dance. There were no incredibly elaborate sets or other dancers in the piece. Derek was moved to tears. He called it “powerful” and praised the duo’s connection. Bruno called it “a celebration of dance.” They scored 40/40.
Gabby and Val
Gabby and Val danced their freestyle to “Cell Block Tango” from Chicago. Gabby turned in a sexy performance with Val and the male pros. Bruno called Gabby “guilty of being lethally hot.” Carrie Ann said that Gabby was “impressive.” Val gave a shout out to his wife, DWTS pro Jenna Johnson, who choreographed the routine. The duo scored 40/40.
The DWTS LIVE 2023 Tour Dancers Hit the Ballroom
The group danced to the song “100% Pure Love” by Crystal Waters. Gabby will be appearing at all the tour stops. Charli, Heidi, Vinny, and Daniel will be performing in select cities.
Shangela and Gleb
This duo performed their freestyle to “Survivor/Call Me Mother” by Destiny’s Child/ RuPaul. Shangela brought a high-energy drag performance to the ballroom, including crispy, dancing chicken legs. Gleb was in drag, too. Len forgot to vote because he “was absolutely mesmerized.” Bruno said he felt “like he won the lottery.” Shangela and Gleb scored 40/40.
The Leaderboard
Gabby and Val and Charli and Mark are tied at the top of the leaderboard with 80 points. Wayne and Witney and Shangela and Gleb are tied for third place at 76 points.
The Elimination
The couple in fourth place is Shangela and Gleb. Wayne and Witney are in third place.
And the Winners Are…
Charli and Mark! Congrats to the new mirrorball champions! Thank you for joining me for a stellar season of DWTS!

“Well, the first season I went on, I was diagnosed with neurological Lyme disease and a lot of narratives that were created by the women,” Yolanda stated. “But those things were very hurtful. I was fighting for my life.” In 2017, Yolanda released her memoir, Believe Me: My Battle with the Invisible Disability of Lyme Disease.
In 2020, Yolanda became a grandmother. Her supermodel daughter, Gigi Hadid, gave birth to her daughter with baby daddy Zayn Malik. Gigi shared a black and white photo on Instagram holding her daughter’s tiny hand. “Our girl joined us earth-side this weekend and she’s already changed our world. So in love,” the new mom wrote. It hasn’t been smooth sailing for Yolanda and Zayn.
According to Page Six, Yolanda told Entertainment Tonight that she shares a special connection with her granddaughter, Khai. Khai shares many traits that remind her of her late mother, Ans van den Herik.
“I feel like my mom came back in this little miniature, incredible little human being,” Yolanda explained. “She does things and I’m like, ‘Oh my god, that’s my mom.’” In October 2019, Yolanda’s mother passed away at age 78, so she never had the chance to meet Khai.
Yolanda stated that her granddaughter “loves everything.” She continued, “Nature, horses, the little ants, she’s careful with everything. She’s just the joy of my life and actually the whole family.”
Yolanda relished becoming an “Oma,” which was “the most incredible time of life.” “Oma” is the Dutch word for grandmother. The RHOBH alum stated, “And, like, yes, in America, I think grandma has a little bit of an old people connotation to it. But, you know, in Holland the oma thing, it’s fresh, it’s great.”
She added, “I’m 58, I think, ‘Thank God we had this baby now, she’s our greatest blessing.’ And I’m just so joyful every day if I get to see her. It’s incredible.”
Yolanda returned to Instagram in July of 2022 after a nine-month break to share that she had suffered a Lyme disease relapse. She took a social media break following to process the loss of her beloved mother.
“After the loss of my mother I really struggled with depression followed by a lyme relapse…. the emotional stress and grief strongly effected my immune system,” Yolandaposted on Instagram. “My phone addiction didn’t help either, it started to take so much time away from being present in my life ,” she added.
Yolanda continued, “Learning to focus on myself, my health journey, and being present in this moment of my life. Time has slowed down and feels a lot calmer, more time to just sit and actually read a book, time to reconnect with people, be creative and most importantly time with my family.”

Andy Cohen Reacts To Bethenny Frankel's New Real Housewives Rewatch Podcast
Let’s be real: There are tons of podcasts covering The Real Housewives, some better than others. And there’s definitely no shortage of Housewives-hosted podcasts, either. So, it probably came as a surprise to discover that Bethenny Frankel, of all people, would be entering this already saturated market with her Housewives rewatch podcast, ReWives. Since leaving TheReal Housewives of New York City, Bethenny has dissed the show time and time again, even claiming that appearing on it made her lose credibility as an entrepreneur and businessperson. Still, Bethenny plans on diving into all things Housewives with her new show.
Reactions to the podcast have been pouring in, and they’re mixed. But, finally, the head of the Housewives himself, AndyCohen, weighed in on what he really thinks about Bethenny taking on the Housewives in her new show. Page Six caught up with him at a charity event, and it sounds like he was just as puzzled as the rest of us but not totally against the idea because publicity is publicity.
“I was a little surprised,” Andy confessed to the outlet, “but again I was like, ‘Oh, this is good, good for you.’ The more Housewives podcasts the better.”
You’d think that Bethenny would be too busy slamming the Kardashians on Instagram or fighting with TikTok to take on a new project like this. However, in the premiere episode, she brought on actress ElisabethMoss to chat through RHONY’s infamous Scary Island episode. For future episodes, Bethenny promises to “rehash, revisit and rewatch the most iconic episodes from all of your favorite cities.”
Although Andy is trying to be supportive of ReWives, Bethenny’s former RHONY costars have come out swinging against it. In an interview, LuanndeLesseps called it “sad and pathetic,” and CaroleRadziwill really let her former friend have it on Twitter.
“Oh lordy…how original. But she did build her brand by trashing & mocking women specifically the HWs & Bethenny always returns to what she does best,” Carole tweeted. “I mean right out the gate she trash talks the other HW podcasts. Lol. Good luck to her. Somethings will never change.”
