90 Day Fiancé Before The 90 Days Recap: Cut Both Ways

Last night’s three hour episode of 90 Day Fiance Before The 90 Days , was very telling, to say the least. I guess none of these people every heard the saying, when someone shows you who they are, believe them. I think all of the couples, were shown a hand, it’s up to them whether they play it. For some, it may be time to run as far as they can. But we know this shit show is the lives of the desperate and delusional, there is no way they will do anything rational. Grab your favorite snack and let’s get down to business.

Darcey Silva has a surprise visitor. David refuses to give up on Lana. Ed Brown confronts Rose about her sister. Avery Warner attends Ash Naeck‘s seminar looking for answers. Stephanie Matto  and Erika Owens try to reconnect. Yolanda Leak receives more news about Williams. Let’s get straight into the recap!

Ed, 54 (San Diego) & Rosemarie, 23 (Philippines)

 

Ed takes Rose on her first airplane ride masked as a special trip. We all know he only wants to to get away from her windowless hovel for father free sexy time. As soon as they arrive at the hotel, Ed’s first point of business is presenting Rose with a sexy teddy and bathing suit. He further sets the mood by giving her toothpaste and a toothbrush in hopes of getting rid of her “not pretty” breath before asking her to try on the teddy. Of Rose is insulted and informs him her breath comes from an issue with an ulcer. No one would guess he was silently suffering as much as he is in her face asking for kisses.  First her legs were too hairy, now her breath is a problem too.  Does Ed know Rose is a human and not a sex doll he can customize?

Ed attempts to redeem himself with a fun outing to see monkeys after insulting Rose earlier.  Ed is so terrified of the cute monkey who stole his banana that Rose has to calm him down. This man is scared of literally everything, if it isn’t some form of pampering.  I wish he was more fearful of a jar of mayo because that hair looks like a greasy mess every time I see it.

Back at the hotel, Ed surprises Rose with a romantic dinner to ask her some serious questions. He wants to know whether she was aware of her sister asking him for money. Personally, that would have been one of my first questions, before spending any additional time or money on the relationship. Ed believes its possible Rose was in cahoots with her sister and this is part of a larger scheme against him. Rose vehemently denies any knowledge of her sister’s actions. She is also hurt and offended that he would suspect her. Ed quickly back tracks and says he is now 100% sure that she wasn’t involved. However, he does request to confront Rose’s sister together.

Ed calls one of his friends to get some advice about how to tell Rose he doesn’t want to have any more children. She already has one son, but hopes to have two more children with him. Ed already has an appointment scheduled to get a vasectomy, so that is not happening. His friend advises him to come clean before he proposes to her.

Avery, 32 (Seattle) & Ash, 38 (Australia)

Ash and Avery are finally returning home after their short getaway when he receives the news his ex-wife, Sian has agreed to meet Avery. This should be interesting given Avery’s penchant for interrogations and Ash’s attempts to cover things up. Avery is already catching on that everything with her long distance love may not be what it seems. Avery has been asking more questions about his relationship business, trying to figure out if he is giving the illusion that he is single.

Avery finally has the chance to observe Ash interact with clients at one of his relationship seminars. Of course, there is no one there but women. Ash looks like the hulk about to bust out of his blazer in Avery’s skinny jeans as he speaks to single women about finding a man. Let’s just say, no one in the room is impressed, not even Avery. Things get very tense when it becomes obvious Ash is completely out of his league. He doesn’t seem well informed on the topic and is a HORRIBLE speaker. Ash even loses his train of thought multiple times and has to walk out when he gets frustrated. Clearly he is accustomed to talking to lovesick women who wants to either feel desired by him or want some type of companionship. Avery gives him a pep talk and Ash returns to peddle more of his sexist rhetoric. Whew, I’ve never seen someone who needed a PowerPoint more than him. The more he talks off the cuff, the more he puts his foot in his mouth. At the conclusion of the meeting, Avery is completely rethinking their relationship.

After the disaster disguised as a class, Avery confronts Ash about his views about gender roles. He becomes very defensive as she challenges his thoughts. I don’t know who in their right mind would pay Ash to teach them anything. Ash completely walks away when he realizes Avery is buying his BS and won’t let the topic go.  SMH…

 

Darcey, 45(Connecticut) & Tom, 39 (England)

Darcey has blocked all communication from Tom Brooks and is trying to move past her heartbreak after their embarrassing break up. Tom on the other hand, is not done with his 15 minutes of fame and is on his way to her house to speak to her. Supposedly he is regretful about their last encounter and wants to fix things. Is this dude insane? If you met with me to tell me I gained weight and throw in my face you were already dating someone else after ignoring my calls for a period of time, there would be no words left to say. When Tom arrives Darcey is completely shocked, but she isn’t falling for his bullshit. When he attempts to give her a letter he wrote expressing his feelings, she declines and slams the door in his face. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! I only wish she would she would have shut the door sooner. Did he really believe that she was just going to fall to her knees grateful for his presence? Tom clearly wants to prance around the screen as much as possible to show off his weight loss. Guess what jerk, you are only two crumpets away from blowing right back up! The viewers also aren’t stupid enough to believe the nice guy act after you met with Darcey the first time just to embarrass her.

 

Geoffrey, 41 (Knoxville, Tenn.) & Varya, 30 (Russia)

Varya Malina is questioning whether she is making the right decision by continuing her courtship with Geoffrey Paschel after he revealed his secret past. Her mother and brother certainly aren’t fans of the man who they believe could possibly still be selling drugs.

Geoffrey is taking Varya to meet one of his Russian friends on a camping trip. I find it interesting that Geoffrey met this man 5 years ago in Cancun and has maintained a friendship, despite the language barrier. She is willing to give things a chance, but isn’t sure about their future. Translation: if he can’t prove his finances and whisk her away from that prison she calls a house, she is out. While Geoffrey heads to the bathroom with his handy shovel and toilet paper, his friend Igor, takes the opportunity to get to know Varya and her intentions better. When Geoffrey returns Varya is looking at him with new eyes.  Varya, please stop trying to act like this is more than a way to score a green card.

Stephanie, 29 (New York) & Erika, 24 (Australia)

Stephanie has been in Australia for one week and she and Erika have been arguing almost every day. Erika asks Stephanie to meet with her at the botanical gardens after the disastrous party with her friends. When the two meet things are awkward and Erika states she is surprised Stephanie left the party. Ummm what????? What was she supposed to do when you began ignoring her and then crying to your friends about how horrible she is? I really can’t deal with watching two people play the victim constantly, it’s draining. Just break up already! Unfortunately, these two have decided to give things another shot, despite all of their issues.

Things seem to be back on track after their heart to heart.  Stephanie is attempting to step out of her comfort zone to just have fun with Erika. Things are definitely progressing because Erika is now ready to come out to her parents and formally introduce Stephanie as her girlfriend. She is hoping that Stephanie will work on the courage to do the same soon. I’m just glad we get a reprieve from their screaming and crying every day in this episode.

 

Lisa, 52 (York, Pa.) & Usman “SojaBoy,” 30 (Nigeria)

Lisa Hamme is still confused why Usman Umar ’s mother refuses to give her blessings after she gave her a goat and went inside a mosque. Hmmm… could it be she doesn’t know or trust you? Nonetheless, Lisa and Usman have decided to try one last time to convince her to allow their marriage. Although it is against tradition to allow a younger man to marry an older woman, Mama Usman decides to give her blessings. Usman pretends to be ecstatic, but he is worried about his fiance’s jealous and controlling nature. SMH… Usman, you should have listened to your mother, if Lisa has acted like a raving lunatic throughout this trip, how do you think she will act when you are on her turf?

Days before the wedding, Usman takes his older brother, Mohammed wedding ring shopping. It is not a Nigerian custom to exchange rings, but he wants to blend the cultures and make Lisa happy. He seeks his brother’s advice about Lisa’s anger issues. Usman is told to try to be patient with her. Obviously Mohammed has never seen Lisa when she gets upset.

With only 3 days until their wedding, Usman reveals to Lisa that he isn’t okay with her being the leader of the household. She lets him know in no uncertain terms that she will not play the role of the obedient wife and storms away. Basically she not only intends to lead the household but him as well if he comes to America. RUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN Usman!!!

Yolanda, 51 (Las Vegas, NV) & Williams, 40 (England)

While taking a walk with two of her children, Yolanda informs them of additional information about Williams. Apparently a woman who is supposed to be a friend of his has reached out to her on Instagram. The woman claims that Williams’s social media page was hacked and that he lost all of his data. Poor Yolanda naively believes this is proof that her precious boyfriend is not a catfish and one day they will ride off into the sunset together. Neither of her kids is buying this story, but hope to find a way to convince their mother she is being scammed.

Yolanda hasn’t heard from Williams’ “friend” since her last message. Her children suggest doing a reverse image search to see if they can find out more information. We will have to wait until the next episode to see if their search yields any new results. I have a feeling this mystery isn’t that hard to crack.

David, 60 (Nevada) & Lana, 27 (Ukraine)

When we last left David he had stalked Lana at what he thought was her address. Much to his dismay, he was greeted by an elderly man who has no idea who David or Lana are. Once again, Lana has thwarted all David’s attempts to meet her. David is left with nothing but another wasted trip and money to meet his dream girl. But he still hasn’t learned his lesson. He admits if she reaches out to him again via the app, he will still talk with her. SMH… Is there no one that can stage an intervention for this man?

Is Katie Maloney Pregnant? Tom Schwartz Posts Photo Of Her Wearing “Make It 3” Shirt

The reality TV news cycle can be pretty predictable when it comes to romance. At first, there’s usually speculation about whether a couple is dating, followed by a confirmation. Then there’s buzz about if and when they’ll get engaged. After, there’s an anticipation of that wedding. And, right after a couple gets hitched, the baby questions begin in addition to the speculation about pregnancy as soon as someone gains five pounds.

Vanderpump Rules star Tom Schwartz added fuel to the pregnancy rumor mill when he posted a photo of Katie Maloney wearing a shirt that said “make it three.” Is this a delayed April Fool’s Day joke? Or is it the real deal? Or, perhaps, the most likely scenario is that Schwartz just didn’t think this one through. At all.

In a blatantly sponsored post to sell a muumuu, Schwartz wrote “MAKE IT 3 ! I made these muumuus for last Christmas, inspired by one of my favorites lines from home alone 2 but they didn’t make it on time. Then I realized this is a total quarantine vibe. A cozy little reminder that it’s ok to indulge. My new mantra, make it 3. I’m not driving.” I wonder if he was inspired to do this when he scrolled through quotes Pinterest. You know, the way Katie said Kristen Doute does with her t-shirt line.

Comments by Bravo shared that Katie wrote “Omg!! Why didn’t it cross our minds that this would look like a pregnancy announcement!!?? Lol! Sorry, everyone, no Bebe! But just a really cool muumuu.”

Perhaps, this very misleading post was actually shared on purpose so Schwartz could sell more shirts. That is actually the likely scenario here. My money is on that or Schwartz just not thinking this one all the way through. This is Schwartz, after all.

NeNe Leakes Says Production Sabotaged Her By Telling Her To Wear A Different Color Than Everyone Else For Real Housewives Of Atlanta Reunion Taping

The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast filmed the season 12 reunion this past weekend via video chat. And the next day, NeNe Leakes shared all of the issues that she had with the day.

Yes, NeNe is an extremely polarizing figure on this show, but based on her account, it’s pretty clear she was sabotaged by production to be the odd one out during the taping. Of course, that is if her story is true. Let’s see what the OG housewife had to say. You be the judge.

In a video on her YouTube page, NeNe began, “The Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion happened yesterday and it was quite interesting to me.”

She explained, “In one of my meetings [before filming], I was asked ‘What color are you going to wear?’ And I said that I was going to wear possibly white. So, I was told that ‘two other people were possibly going to wear white, so you might want to reconsider.’ And I said ‘Say no more. Absolutely. If two other people are already considering wearing white, I’ll wear something different.'”

Aren’t they supposed to coordinate ensembles so it looks cohesive on camera? Why ostracize NeNe like that?

NeNe continued, “They said ‘what colors are you thinking?’ And I said ‘Maybe a royal blue or pink.’ And they said ‘OK, those are good colors.'” She settled on a black sequin number and felt good going into the taping. That all changed once the day got started though.

NeNe shared, “Once I arrived at the virtual reunion, I notice that all the girls are wearing white. When I say ‘all the girls,’ that would mean everyone except for Marlo [Hampton] and Tanya [Sam] because they were not on at the time yet. I thought ‘Dang, everybody has on white. That’s weird.'”

That’s when she texted Marlo and Tanya to see what color they planned to wear. You guessed it: they both had white outfits. NeNe shared, “So, I start toying with myself in my brain. Should I stay here in this? I really like what I have on.”

After, she turned to her husband Gregg Leakes for some input. NeNe recalled, “Gregg says ‘If I were you, I would change because you look like a target. You look like a villain. You look like, you know, a black sheep.'” Bingo. That’s very likely what production was trying to pull. NeNe conferred with a friend of hers to get a second opinion and he had the same take that Gregg did.

Gregg even checked in again to make sure that NeNe changed so she wouldn’t be on the outs. She went to her closet to look for something white to wear. At the time, she told herself, “Listen, NeNe. This is probably something that was supposed to throw you off. Don’t let it throw you off. Get back in there. You’re gonna be fine.”

She added, “I’m thinking to myself ‘this is really messed up.'” She wondered, “Is this a [coincidence]? I ask you, is it a [coincidence] that six people got on white? And I was told to not wear white. So, after changing, I came and I sat.” For the record, NeNe kept saying “coincident” instead of “coincidence,” which was actually pretty funny.

This Week’s Schedule Of Throwback Bravo Episodes- Gallery Girls, Below Deck, Real Housewives, & More!

Sometimes, life is a matter of perspective. Instead of being “stuck” at home because of the pandemic, it might feel better to view the situation as being “safe” at home instead.

Of course, what’s going on the world right now should not be minimized, not by any means. Nevertheless, a lot of people with “non-essential” jobs are at home. Some are homeschooling their children. Others have turned their living rooms into an office. Most of the people who are reading this have been watching a lot of reality TV shows- in the background, while fulfilling responsibilities, of course. Well, Bravo knows that fans are looking for premium programming. And, no, I’m not trying to re-watch an episode of a show that I just watched last week.

This week kicks off with a Below Deck Mediterranean Season 3 marathon on Monday, April 27. This is the season that was dominated by the Joao Franco love triangle with Brooke Laughton and Kasey Cohen. Years later, it’s still tough to believe one woman was this into Joao, let alone two. It’s also gonna be interesting to watch given how ugly Joao and Brooke’s breakup ended up. But, all’s well that ends well. Joao is engaged (and has blocked us on social media) and Brooke and Kasey seem to be doing just fine.

On Tuesday, April 28, we will be treated to a true throwback: Gallery Girls. In case anyone needs a refresher, the show follows a group of 20-something-aged girls who work at art galleries in New York City.

Wednesday, April 29 will feature a Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 6 marathon. This was Erika Jayne’s first season, and arguably the last time we saw Erika Girardi. Nowadays, it’s all about her pop star alter ego. One season wonder Kathryn Edwards also joined the show this season with her hot husband, some OJ Simpson chatter, and a lot of tension with Faye Resnick.

Kristin Cavallari & Jay Cutler Are Divorcing

Kristin Cavallari and her husband Jay Cutler caused controversy when they vacationed in the Bahamas for three weeks during a global pandemic. They even shared faux complaints about being “stuck” at a luxury resort. Normally, Kristin, Jay and their three kids live in Nashville, which is also the primary location for Kristin’s E! reality show Very Cavallari. Jay and Kristin’s kids do not appear on the show.

A lot of the content revolves around Kristin running her jewelry business Uncommon James, but the entertaining part of the show is Jay Kristin and Jay’s dynamic. That’s why it’s pretty shocking that these two are headed for divorce.

According to an article from Screen Rant, Kristin broke the divorce news with an Instagram post on Sunday, April 26. She wrote, “With great sadness, after 10 years together we have come to a loving conclusion to get a divorce. We have nothing but love and respect for one another and are deeply grateful for the years shared, memories made, and the children we are so proud of. This is just the situation of two people growing apart. We ask everyone to respect our privacy as we navigate this difficult time within our family.”

That’s a pretty generic statement. But, then again, Kristin knows what she’s doing when it comes to reality TV. She will probably stay mum on this and film the post-breakup life along with an additional explanation for the split if Very Cavallari returns for a fourth season.

Speaking of vague, a source told People, “Kristin and Jay had been having problems for a long time. They hadn’t spent much time together in recent months.” Except for that Bahamas vacation, of course.

Lisa Vanderpump Says Scheana Marie Lies To Herself; Scheana Says Lisa Doesn’t Listen To Her

I admit I have not always been a fan of Scheana Marie. She has often come across as self-centered and attention-seeking. If I had to describe her in one word, it would be insufferable. But something has changed this season, and the things that used to annoy me about Scheana, are now endearing her to me. I think she is really struggling this season on Vanderpump Rules. Anyone who has been a single woman in her thirties knows that the struggle is real. It is hard watching everyone else find their happy ever after while you remain alone. I feel for Scheana, and I think she is doing her best to be honest, but it can be hard when the truth hurts.

Through it all, Lisa Vanderpump has always been in her corner.  Lisa has supported her through her marriage, divorce, and subsequent failed relationships. Even when Scheana was most annoying, Lisa was there for her. It seems to me like Scheana is especially vulnerable right now. She needs Lisa to be positive for her more than ever. That’s why it is a little surprising to see Lisa speak so harshly to her this season. 

Lisa recently spoke about her perception of Scheana on the Vanderpump Rules After Show. “I think that sometimes we don’t know what is actually going on with Scheana,” Lisa explained. “We know what she wants to tell us. I think … people might perceive it as she’s showing us what the audience wants to see, but that’s not it. It’s what she wants to happen instead of what is really happening. That’s my point.”

Ok, so Scheana is trying to project what she wants to happen. To manifest it in her life. Aren’t there whole mantras about this? How positive thinking and visualization can bring about that goal in reality? “Ask, Believe, Receive,” anyone? According to Kim Zolciak, that is how she got a husband and four babies. Some call it positive thinking, some call it delusion. You say to-may-to, I say to-mah-to. It’s a fine line.

Lisa is leaning towards the latter. “So I wouldn’t even say it’s inauthentic because that’s who she is in real life. But is it inauthentic in terms of her being totally honest with herself? That’s where the inauthenticity comes in.”

So I kind of get what Lisa is saying and how that is annoying. But, really, how many of us are totally honest with ourselves about our lives? Everyone has things they don’t like to admit to themselves. And the girl is clearly having a hard time right now, so maybe she needs some rose-colored glasses to get through it.

For her part, Scheana responds, “The thing about Lisa is she doesn’t listen to me when I talk. She talks at me and she tells me how I feel and it’s frustrating because she doesn’t listen and when she does listen, she assumes I’m lying. She’ll listen and be like, okay, I heard you say all of that but here’s what you’re saying, and here’s what you feel. And I’m like, ‘No, Lisa!'”

I have to say I do understand Scheana’s point here.  Lisa asked her how she felt, then immediately told her she was wrong. I have been in that situation, and when someone is trying to tell you how you feel, and it is beyond frustrating. There is no way to convince someone otherwise once they have made up their mind that you feel a certain way.

However, when we put this is in the context of the whole Brett Caprioni issue, Scheana definitely starts to lose credibility. It is hard to believe you on this, girl. Your words and actions do not line up.

Scheana explains, “I told [Lisa] so many times last summer. Did I have a little crush on Brett? Did I think he was hot? Did we make out once? Totally. Do I want to date him? NO! And then Lisa says, ‘Well, I know you do,’ and I’m like, But I don’t! It’s so frustrating because I’m like, I am NOT lying!”

Unfortunately, Scheana is digging herself a hole with this. The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior.

“I know that you maybe think in the past like with the Adam [Spott] situation or Rob [Valletta] or whatever, that we like down-played something or talked about it too much or whatever,” Scheana continued. “But like right now, here in 2019, at my lowest of lows ever on this show, thank you, here’s where I’m at. I’m being so f***ing honest with you.”

Scheana DID talk way too much about Rob and she seemed obsessed. She bought Adam and Max Boyens expensive gifts while constantly telling everyone that they were just friends. As if she just likes giving expensive gifts to guys who then never talk to her again. Scheana does not want to be “just friends” until after the guy makes it clear he is not interested in anything more.

This is Lisa’s point about not Scheana being honest with herself. Scheana is adamant about not wanting anything serious with Brett. But she clearly doesn’t like it when he dates other girls and gets mad if he doesn’t call her to check on her after her egg retrieval. Come on, Scheana. That’s way more than just friendship. You know that if Brett wanted to seriously give it a shot, you would change your tune.

Clearly, Scheana is lying when she says that she is happy being single. You can almost feel Scheana’s loneliness through the screen. Her constant insistence that she does not want a man in her life only makes it more painfully obvious how much she does want one.

Scheana maintains, “At the end of the day, I want to make myself happy first because I’ve had 31 years of not making myself happy and doing everything for everyone else. Then I get divorced and I had another year of making someone else happy. Then he treated me like shit. Then I started dating my best friend. It was like, this is the first time I am doing this, and the fact that you’re not acknowledging that what I am saying is my truth is insulting as f*ck.”

The key phrase in that whole statement is her assertion that she is telling “MY truth”. Not THE truth, HER truth. Scheana realizes that she is having to sugarcoat the things she tells herself right now. If she keeps repeating that she is happy being single, maybe she can make it be true.

Scheana summed it up, “It is just really upsetting because I’m like, stop telling me what I want because that is not what I want! If you’re not going to believe the words that are coming out of my mouth, then why are we having this conversation?”

If Scheana would just be more truthful, I think Lisa and the rest of the cast would be understanding.  Yes, Scheana is guilty of being insufferable. She has made some big mistakes in the past and was selfish and obnoxious in her twenties (and is still from time to time). But I think that describes at least 90% of us. I think she is doing her best. She isn’t really lying, she’s just trying to cope. Scheana will always be Scheana, but I think she just needs people to listen right now. She needs to start by fessing up to her true feelings, and I think she will find the love and support she desperately needs.
