At this point, the Real Housewives of Potomac fans should not expect to get a straight answer from Karen Huger about her previous knowledge of Ray Huger’s tax problems. She has been talking in circles and deflecting all season and she did the same thing during her appearance on Watch What Happens Live last night with Candiace Dillard.
She continued to play up the Grand Dame of Potomac persona and give confusing answers to almost every question that Andy Cohen asked her.
Andy asked, “Did you really not know about Ray’s tax issues?” As per usual, Karen said, “I really did not know, but let’s keep it real ladies.” And then she gave the most confusing follow-up to her initial reply: “Andy, did you ever lay on the pillow for twenty years with the same man? He did mention to me and I didn’t remember because he didn’t hold a press conference with me and he certainly didn’t hold a conversation. He said, ‘I’m handling it,’ but I want to thank you. You made me a better listener as a wife. That’s why he’s still sitting at the front of the audience with me.” So she knew about it, but she also did not know? How does that make any sense? At all.
Andy continued with the hard hitting questions: “Why don’t you and Ray file your taxes together after 21 years of marriage.” One again, Karen didn’t really answer the question. She just told him, “Choice, honey. Choice. Look at me. I don’t blame Ray for not putting me on his checking account. You know me better, baby. I spend a lot of money.” Alright then…
Andy wasn’t done though. He told Karen, “You said Ray has settled on a deal. It’s all done?” Karen said, “Look. This is a business issue. Ray has handled it. It’s in our rear view mirror. I feel fabulous. I’ve moved on. We’re in a great place. We’re good?”
Andy concluded, “You say you didn’t sell your house for less than its listing price because of back taxes. Is that true?” Karen started to say, “I didn’t” before a long pause. She added, “My husband orchestrated it, yes. So I don’t really know what it sold for, but we were happy.” She has no idea how much her house sold for? Really?
Then the conversation turned to the last RHOP episode. Andy asked, “Candiace, were you surprised by the friction you had on the trip tonight? I wasn’t surprised because old bitches are going to scream. They’re going to holler. That’s what they do. I was ready though.”
Andy also asked Candiace about her openness regarding her man Chris Bassett’s penis color (yes, that’s actually a story line this season). Candiace shared, “He’s used to extraness that is Candiace, so it’s just par for the course. He got over it.
Andy asked Karen, “Do you think Gizelle [Bryant] did the t-shirt thing to be nasty or do you see any humor in that? She’s got issues. She’s like Chuckie in drag: running around with a butcher knife, ready to stab everyone she calls a friend in the back. My thing about Gizelle is that we share a unique relationship. Do I love her? No. Do I like her? Yes. Is she in time out? Absolutely.” I think she got a little mixed up there. Wouldn’t it make more sense for Karen to say that she “loves” Gizelle, but doesn’t “like” her instead of the opposite? Candiace chimed in with “She’s got too much time on her hands. She’s bored.”
The Potomac Housewives gave Candiace a lot of shit for letting her mother pay for some of her things, but Candiace made it clear that she really doesn’t regret being so open with her costars. Candiace said, “I don’t because that’s my truth and I live in that. Familial wealth, that’s family wealth. I don’t regret or not want to acknowledge what my mother has done to me because it is what it is.”
Andy called out Karen for her press conference (without the press). He asked, “Can you see, watching the press conference, how it seemed that you didn’t want to answer the questions?” Karen admitted, “In hindsight, I probably shouldn’t have done the press conference, but it was supposed to be humorous and I did get what I wanted. I threw this press conference to press the hell out of these women to see who really was my friend. Quite honestly, everyone had a question mark over them after this press conference. So, I’m happy I can live in my truth.”
A caller asked Karen, “Do you think Robyn [Dixon] is looking for love in all the wrong places with Juan [Dixon]?” Karen confessed, “You know what, I’ve actually told Robyn this and now I’m going to tell the world this: I like Juan better than I like Robyn. OK? Period. So, I wish them well, but that is my truth. I can’t. I’d be biased, Andy.”
Andy asked, “What do you think about Gizelle and Ashley’s [Darby] new friendship?” Karen gagged and stuck out her tonge before she answered, “I wish them well, but I don’t believe in it.” Cnadiace added, “It’s foolishness.”
A fan asked Candiace, “Why did you say anything to Charrisse [Jackson-Jordan] right away when she made that comment about your mom? Because my mother told me to respect my elders and I wanted to be respectful in the moment.”
Andy clapped back with, “I must say, you’re doing a lot of age shaming.” Candiace explained, “Well, they started it.” Karen added, “Return the serve, Andy.”
Andy asked, “Why did you let Charrisse’s comments get so under your screen when it was clear she was joking?” Candiace explained, “Well, they didn’t ‘get under my skin’ so to speak. It was more so, I needed to establish boundaries early in the relationship and I felt like she was overreaching and I needed to let her know right away ‘madame bitch, sit down.'”
Then Candiace and Karen were asked about Ashley‘s reluctance to cut off her mother financially. Candiace admitted, “It’s very hard. And Having known Ashley before, it’s hard to watch and I try to give her advice and I just… I don’t know. I do think she needs to create boundaries with her mom, but it’s hard because that’s her husband. So, I don’t know.”
Karen shared, “I told Ashley, look, Michael [Darby] has been doing a lot of extra and she needs to meet him halfway. I even told her, I said ‘Slide some money under the table to your mother,’ but she said she did that and she got caught. My thing is it it is and it’s a very difficult situation. I wouldn’t want to touch it with a ten foot pole. Marriage is difficult enough and to be put into this situation , my heart- I can’t believe I’m saying this- goes out to Ashley.”
Nevertheless, Karen is not pleased with Ashley and her on-camera interview comments this season. Karen admitted, “I’m watching with the viewers and I’m just shocked.” That’s what the reunion is for. She can address that (and everything else that went down this season) then.

RIP Ramonja. Even though Ramona Singer and Sonja Morgan haven’t been as close for the past few seasons of Real Housewives of New York, it seems like their friendship might actually be done at this point.
Not only is Ramonja kaput, but it seems like the other New York Housewives are done with Sonja as well- except for Bethenny Frankel and Luann de Lesseps.
Ramona set the record straight on the distance between her and Sonja in a Bravo blog post. Ramona began, “What needs to be clear is the fact that Sonja made no effort all summer to see me, no matter how many times I reached out to her. She claims she was depressed, but she was actually in the Hamptons partying all night with her gay friends. At the end of the summer, I saw Sonja at a table beside me at Biblioquet in Sag Harbor, and she never exchanged more than a word with me. With this type of behavior, of course I feel distant from Sonja — hurt and disappointed, too.” Apparently, Sonja is not down for the off-season friendships with her costars.
The RHONY star claimed, “Sonja makes up her own scenarios. She knows that she’s the one who has been the absentee in our friendship, and yet Sonja is trying to put a different spin on it.”
Ramona isn’t the only one who’s done listening to Sonja talk about the yacht, her ex-husband, and other remnants of her former life. Ramona continued, “Most of the ladies have distanced themselves from her, and I feel bad for her. I can see that most of them don’t want to be in her company. I tried explaining this to her at Henri Bendel, but Sonja can’t take anything in…that’s exactly why she’s having problems with the girls. I don’t want Sonja to be the odd man out, but she’s bringing this on herself.”
Ramona revised the version of events that Sonja conveyed to Bethenny during the last episode: “What Bethenny doesn’t understand is that Tinsley [Mortimer] was upset that Sonja was badmouthing her, telling everyone in NYC that she was a bad guest. She said it so much that it ended up on Page Six! Sonja, of course, twists it to something else entirely, which seems to be her habit lately.”
Ramona concluded, “I really don’t know what will happen between us. Only time will tell.”

Up until tonight’s Real Housewives of Potomac episode, Monique Samuels has kept clean and for the most part stayed out of the drama. Yes, she fought with Robyn Dixon at Big Chris’ birthday party. And before filming began, she suffered a miscarriage which she hasn’t really dealt with properly. But so far she has come across as a fun-loving woman whose biggest complaint is she can’t find a good nanny. Tonight those impressions came ‘crashing’ down (puns are fun!).
But first, let’s hop over to Great Falls and check in with Karen Huger. She wants Siri to call Matt, but Siri just asks too many dumb questions and gives Karen attitude. Karen feels lonely out in Virginia. Rayvin is gone off to college and Ray won’t talk to her about anything meaningful, but Karen can always count on Siri to be there when she needs a good argument. Karen has the entrepreneurial spirit and her business is called “Icon Enterprises”. She started with wigs and is now moving on to perfume. I just can’t help myself…was last weeks wig slip an Icon wig? Enquiring minds need to know! To make the perfume she’s going to need financing and look who walks in but Mr. Money himself, Ray. He supports her newest venture with his heart but not so much with his wallet. Besides, he has bigger problems to think about. He misses Rayvin and there’s this small matter of a 4.5 million dollar bill that Uncle Sam is requesting to be paid ASAP. But hey, Karen is not afraid of a little work. She once worked at Taco Bell and has the picture to prove it. She saved her taco coins and has her own savings. Then Karen puts me in my place and tells me to stop asking questions and mind my own business, so, okay.
Ashley Darby and Candiace Dillard meet up with Monique and Charrisse at District Cryo. They’re all sore from Bubble Ball and there’s nothing like three minutes is a freezing chamber to forget about a little muscle pain. The rep tells them that the cryo chamber is colder than the coldest place on earth, and they are all like “Great!” and I’m all like “You’d have to be threatening the life of my cat to get me in there”. But Monique is all in for this and goes first (they go by height but this makes no sense but whatever). Now, we’ve never heard this before *sarcasm* but Monique is BUSY! She has a business (grated ginger juice), she has charities, she has to please Chris (which apparently is a job), she has two kids and no nanny. This girl needs some me time!
After they all take a turn freezing their tits off, they hit the massage chairs and start talking crap about Gizelle Bryant. I have to give it to Charrisse, she tried to stick up for Gizelle, but it’s 3 against Charrisse and as we will hear NUMEROUS times later, they’re younger and wiser in the world than the geriatrics of the group. Charrisse decides to fight fire with fire. She asks Candiace, “How old are you?” Candiace admits she’s 30. Then Charrisse goes in for the kill: “Did your mom buy your engagement ring?” Oh, shady Charrisse is the best Charrisse, which I can’t believe I’m saying and maybe the world has tilted on its axis more than usual. Charrisse is on a roll. When Candiace asks about her marriage (which 100% she already knew was over) Charrisse says “Divorced…Ashley, how’re you and Michael doing?” Ashley admits it’s hard and she needs a break from the domestic drama. Therefore, she’s taking the crew to Nemacolins Resort for a few days of relaxation.
Gizelle is packing for the trip. She has lots going on and isn’t sure that she even wants to go. On top of her three girls and everything that goes with tweens, and her beauty line, Sherman is acting weird and uncommunicative. This isn’t Gizelle’s first trip around the block, and she knows trouble when she smells it. Besides, his Facetime skills are pathetic, so we’ll have to see how this plays out.
Ashley and Michael are on a bike ride. They’ve been trying to have more fun, but it’s not easy. Shocker: Michael brings up Ashley’s mom AGAIN. If we were playing a drinking game and took a drink every time Michael says “Cut her off” we’d all be more wasted than Monique is going to be after the next commercial break. Ashley and Michael just couldn’t be more different. Ashley was raised the family always helps family and Michael was raised that everyone is independent. This seems unfair to Ashley. He can’t expect her mom to change overnight, despite the fact that the unemployed boyfriend is a drain on everyone and a relative to no one. Michael tells Ashley that she’s so forgiving and he wishes she’d be that forgiving of him to which she replies, “Excuse me?” I have to pause here and ask, what does this mean? Are we talking about the ‘dingaling’ incident from Tindr? (Thanks Karen). Whatever it is, Ashley is offended. She has forgiven him for numerous things! Michael repeats that she has to cut her off, but Ashley wonders if Michael is not going to help, then what’s the point of the relationship? What’s a girl to do? The trip to Nemacolins can’t come soon enough. They’re at an impasse and decide to bike home. Nothing is resolved, and it is a long, looooong 45 miles back home.
Robyn is also getting packed for the trip. Juan brings her a gift of sneakers to take with her. They’re on a financial roll. Robyn and her mom are going to go in on a fixer house together. After the trip, she will be balls to the walls working. She thanks Juan for the gift and her boys encourage them to kiss. Juan and Robyn give a PG version of a kiss. I mean, the boys were in the room, so I’m not going to read anything into it.
Ashley, Monique, and Candiace meet at a store to shop for the upcoming trip. Monique just needs to get away from her busyness. They discuss room arrangements. Would Candiace like to room with Gizelle? NO! Charrisse? Double NO! Monique admits her friend Charrisse was harsh on Candiace during Cryo. No way would Monique have been quiet during the interrogation. Monique’s boots were made for walking, but apparently, Candiace’s were made for sitting there and taking it. Candiace says she’s a hurricane and she can cause some damage! But Ashley admits that Candiace is more like a light drizzle. Ashley asks Candiace about the wedding progress, but Candiace just can’t talk about it. It’s sooooo stressful. And her Mother! She just is ready to cry just thinking about it all. Ashley and Monique both realize that Candiace is going to get eaten alive during the trip.
It’s all good times until Monique drives into a tree. Apparently, Monique drank her lunch then took a nap behind the wheel while the car was still moving. The next day her back and neck hurt. She does some stretching at home. I have so many questions I don’t even know where to start. Was she drunk? Why didn’t she go to the hospital? Is the airing of this episode the first the police is hearing about this? Who owned that tree? Were the Bravo cameras there but the footage cut for legal reasons? I could go on. This is really bad, friends. Monique says this is a wake-up call, but apparently not big enough to stop her from going on the trip.
Everyone meets up at Monique’s to take the party bus to Nemacolins and are startled to hear about the car wreck. Monique admits that she did have a couple of drinks, but only 2 martinis. However, Ashley spills the tea in her talking head: Monique had way more than two. I could parse this all day, but let’s live in the present moment.
Ashley has all sorts of fun things planned for the ladies. Please let Karen get on the zip line! If we all wish hard enough, it has to come true. Ashley says that she came here once with her grandparents and loved it. Her grandparents lived in a trailer park called Indian Acres and those were really happy memories for her. Gizelle wants to know if the trailer was her third home (Not being shady). Oh Gizelle, even the bus driver knows it is, but you’re pretty and he forgives you. Even Ashley lets it slide. Interestingly, Monique is the one that gets bent out of shape and mentions (for the 12th time) that Gizelle asked about the number of homes Monique has. It’s four, no FIVE homes G! Get it straight!
Monique then brings up Cryotherapy. It seems the cryo machine froze Monique’s brain because she forgot that she’s Charrisse’s ride or die. Monique completely throws Cha under the bus by reminding Candiace of what Charrisse said about who paid for your ring. Candiace decides that was a Shady Bitch Moment. Well, excuse me? Cha Cha can’t believe someone called her a bitch to her face. Anyone with manners know we do that behind the back! The two start bickering. Karen sits back and enjoys the show. If only this bus served popcorn. Charrisse doesn’t play with kids and Candiace doesn’t play with old women. Well, there you go. The kid needs to be quiet. But no! the geriatric granny is the one who needs to close her trap. All this is entertaining, but does anyone notice that Monique has drank an entire bottle of wine on her own during the fight? Whaaa??
They arrive and all this time I thought it was camping, but Nemacolins is a plush resort. The women get settled then head to lunch. The young ones plus Robyn take the white Limo (that’s not shady, just trying to explain). They are all wasted (again, except Robyn). Halfway there, Ashley needs to pee. She gets out and does it next to a clump of grass and manages to do so without so much as a bee sting or a snake bite on her tush. They arrive at their destination which is a pretty lodge house that will be serving them a catered luncheon. As the hostess, Ashley’s job is to make her guests feel welcome. She does this by bringing up all the problems the women have with each other.
Gizelle jumps straight into it. Candiace needs to apologize to Charrisse. After all, Charrisse is the glue to this group and is Gizelle’s friend. Wait… Charrisse is the glue but not a full-time housewife? Siri, get me Andy Cohen stat! I have a bone to pick with him. Anyway, Candiace fires back that Gizelle and Cha Cha are hypocrites because they are also kept women, but instead of a mom, they have ex-husbands that pay for everything. Charrisse asks Candiace, “Where’re you from?’ To which Candiace replies, “I came from Jesus.” Well, how do you argue with that? Robyn reminds Candiace that she brought up the brown penis and the mom paying for everything and how Candiace plays here mom financially. Candiace admits, well yes, but does it have to be shade? Of Course it does!!! Where do you think you are, Honey ? Karen reminds her that she had been warned to not give so much information, and she needs to button it. I can’t be the only one to think, please lord let Candiace listen to the reason that is Karen Huger. So far she has not led you astray! But Candiace dismisses sensibility and goes deeper. When Gizelle reminds her that she needs to apologize, Candiace claps back and asks her if she’s Cha’s mom. No? Then shut up and eat your greens. Ashley thinks that if only Charrisse could get laid, the whole fight could have been avoided. These women still have the entire weekend to get through, and they are off to a very bad start. Ashley wants Smoky the Bear to kidnap them, but when confronted with these women the bear who braves wildfires would be quaking in his boots.

Southern Charm New Orleans is proving itself to be a Bravo contender. The combination of beautiful people stirring the pot has always been a winner, but throw in some voodoo and a level of self-absorption that defies the norm, and I’m certainly going to watch.
After the explosive end to Reagan Charleston’s jewelry launch, Tamica Lee, Reagan, and outlying friend Rachel are brunching at Nicelle’s home. In the French Quarter, Barry Smith is stewing in his bad judgment and the slur he spouted during his screaming match with Jon Moody’s friend. He’s lunching with Justin Reese and Tamica’s brother while rehashing the night. When he tells his friends what he said, Justin is floored. You can’t say that word unless you’re British and asking a cigarette or you’re looking for a bundle of sticks. Barry recognizes it was wrong, but the guy still continued to get in his face even after apologizing. Justin still can’t wrap his head around it. To him, it’s the equivalent of a white person using the n-word. A derogatory slur is a derogatory slur.
At Nicelle’s brunch, Tamica is telling the same story from her point of view. The second she heard her husband name call in the manner, she was done. She has no patience for spewing ignorance, just pot stirring. Reagan chalks it up to what happens when you try to cause drama at what should normally be a drama-free event. She’s peeved at Tamica for beefing with Jon about the party and butting into Justin’s business. Justin agrees, telling Barry about his wife’s interference with Kelsey. Outlying friend Rachel questions Tamica about Kelsey being visibly uncomfortable. Tamica is on the defensive. She was telling truths to Kelsey about her situation with Justin. Perhaps the venue was inappropriate, but she doesn’t dispute it needed to be said. When no one agrees with Tamica’s honesty tour, she storms out of the brunch. She calls Barry to complain about her friends putting her on blast. She is adamant that belittling Kelsey was necessary. Kelsey needs to know what she’s getting into with her relationship with Justin. Barry advises his wife to leave that decision up to Justin, and Justin takes a lot of satisfaction being privy to the conversation on speaker phone. He’s relieved that Reagan has spoken up in regard to Tamica’s behavior.
A few days later, Justin is meeting with a structural engineer to renovate his childhood home in light of post-Katrina-decade-old damage. The foundation shift is bad, but it is reparable, which is great news for Justin…and the bank. Meanwhile, Tamica is dining with her cousin Jared who she considers her right arm. As she goes off on her friends’ inability to accept her truths, Jared wonders if perhaps she is picking the wrong time to share her views. She needs to apologize to her friends. This isn’t the advice Tamica wants to hear. She can dish it AND she can take it, and by “taking it” she can flee the scene anytime someone tries to talk to her the way she talks to everyone else. Tamica heads back to Nicelle’s to make sure that their friendship is still good. Tamica doesn’t technically do “sorry” but she can at least admit that it was classless to leave the brunch in such a huff. Nicelle is a certified swamp tour guide, a title bestowed on her solely for the number of swamp tours she’s taken herself. She plans to help Tamica plan a floating dinner where all the group can air their grievances…with no escape.
Barry accepts a call from his wife’s nemesis Gian, and he’s thrilled to hear from his business mentor. They make plans to meet at a local playground. Gian has heard the rumors stemming from Reagan’s party, and she wants to hear the story straight from the source. Gian heard the slur that Barry used, and she’s hesitant to align herself with him on a business level due to this turn of events. Barry understands her point of view, but he’s peeved that she’s basing her decision on something that had nothing to do with her and third-party information…even though that information was accurate.
Nicelle and her personal chef Benny Poppins are working overtime to organize and prep for the Out of Africa themed riverboat cruise. Um, no. The crew piles into a van and debates whether alligator is more poultry or seafood. Tamica practices her Cajun accent with the captain, and I recall the fun fan boat ride I took the last time I was in New Orleans–except this tour will be nothing like that. Gian is Jon’s plus one, and Tamica likens her to an STD…she got her high school, Barry got her a few months ago, and she’s now so contagious Jon’s gotten her. Tamica addresses the group with a half-assed apology, but she hems and haws about her actions without actually uttering the “sorry” word. Her pals should be used to her behavior by now, right? None of her friends are surprised, this is textbook Tamica. She doesn’t apologize. Barry tries to defend himself with the f***** comment, and Gian urges him to reconsider his stance. Tamica interrupts to remind Gian that she’s not perfect either. Funny how she felt the same was as Gian until Gian went in on Barry.
In response to Barry’s excuse, Jon recognizes that he grew up homophobic, but as he matured, he realized just how wrong he was. Jeff Charleston interjects to explain how that kind of macho attitude plays out in the NFL but it doesn’t make it okay. Jared then gives a tearful speech about the impact of that word on himself as a gay man. There’s not a dry eye on the boat. Once the laundry is aired, the mood is much lighter, Jared’s friend would like to plan a group outing to the most haunted plantation in the world. Tamica says hell no to that suggestion. After his breakdown in last week’s episode, Jeff announces that he’s made an appointment with a therapist. His friends are proud of him for taking this step, and Rachel pulls Reagan aside to express how important her support will be to Jeff. Reagan doesn’t need to spend most of her time living apart from Jeff in her French Quarter apartment. Whoa, hold up there, outlying friend Rachel! Reagan loves and supports her husband, but she prefers to do it from a distance.

There is a lot to unpack from Jeff Charleston’s argument with his wife Reagan Charleston during the last episode of Southern Charm New Orleans. First of all, they were both wasted, which is fine, but that didn’t exactly aid their communication. Then there was this surface level argument about random women being at guys night, but that wasn’t the real problem.
They both exchanged some low insults and Reagan even threw it in Jeff’s face that she is working and her retired NFL player husband is not- even though we saw earlier in the episode that he is helping her launch her accessories business. And behind the scenes of all that, they were both devastated that Jeff’s parents stole his money and cut off communication. The argument wasn’t contained to the car though. Jeff stormed out of the vehicle and just wandered around New Orleans….drunk…. in the middle of the night.
Jeff reflected on the drama in a Bravo blog post. Jeff explained, “That night in the car with Reagan, I was in a really bad place emotionally. Everything that had happened with my family and my mom really took its toll on our relationship. Things just got heated. Obviously, we had both had way too much to drink and neither one of us had dinner.”
Jeff explained that there was more emotion behind their argument than the events that went down that night: “I was really devastated by my family deceiving and betraying me, and I was a shell of myself. Reagan and I had many conversations at home about the source of my depression. We both worry about the physical impact years of football can take, but we both acknowledged that I had gone through a really traumatic experience. What happened to me happens to professional athletes all the time— but you never think it’s going to happen to you.”
Aside from the concern over possible brain trauma, Jeff still had the family drama on his mind. He admitted, “You never want to believe the people you trust and love can hurt you. I was deeply depressed at that time. I’m not a big drinker, so for Reagan to see me drinking like that at the paint party, she was really worried. But Reagan is no shrinking violet and she will tell you, she can definitely be gentler with her approach.” Clearly.
He shared, “I worked really hard to take care of everyone and say and do the right thing, and my nest egg had been wiped out, and my whole family just cut all communication off with me. There was no one to even project my feelings on to because they cut me out of their lives. Blocked my number.” And on top of that, there is bound to be fall out from Jeff calling out his parents on a reality TV show.
Jeff confessed, “I felt betrayed and deeply hurt that they could turn their back on me, and what you see in the car is a result of a year of upset, stress, sadness, and anger stemming from that. If things were normal, we would have picked up some fast food or take out, and laughed about it all in bed. It could have been a little tiff, but there was so much beneath the surface.”
Charleston revealed, “Reagan tried to tell me for years that she was worried something shady was going on with them, but I didn’t want to hear it. I didn’t want to believe it. And I spent a lot of time being mad at her because she was right all along.”
Bringing it back to that episode, Jeff shared, “I was depressed and had way too much to drink. I had suppressed all of these emotions, and they erupted that night. I didn’t just lose my nest egg, I lost my whole family. It was awful.”
He shared, “And at that time, there was so much talk about brain trauma and contact sports. I had started to worry that the depression I was feeling wasn’t just related to what was going on with my family in Oregon. I was worried that it could be physical and not just emotional. I’ve always been big on taking preventative measures, but there is always that nagging concern. Reagan and I had just had a conversation at home about some article that said alcohol could advance the effects of brain trauma, and it had been weighing on me. So when she brought it up, I just blew up. All of those things I was feeling at that time: hurt, upset, worry… It all came out in the car that night and I just wanted to get away.”

Just like many Housewives that came before her, the newest Real Housewives of Potomac cast member Candiace Dillard has not received the warmest reception from the rest of the ladies.
Even last season’s new girl Monique Samuels thinks that Candiace is getting hazed pretty hard. She even thinks Monique got it way worse from the girls than she did when she joined the group.
Monique discussed the last episode in a Bravo blog post. Monique wrote, “Grilling is part of getting to know someone. Personally, I thought Candiace was giving way too much information to these ladies too soon. They enjoy judging people, and I don’t think that she was prepared to defend herself at that moment.”
Monique continued, “I feel like the Candiace that I met at Ashley’s [Darby] event was far more capable of handling the shade than bubble soccer Candiace. Maybe the heat, pressure from the food being late, or lack of napkins left her unprepared to ‘clap back.’ I was hoping that she would’ve put them in their places right away that day.” Unfortunately for Candiace, that’s not what happened.
Monique confessed, “I definitely felt like Candiace got more heat from the ladies than I did, especially when she started telling us about how much her mom does for her. Most of us are or were married to successful men, so we’re accustomed to hearing stories of the man being the provider, not our mommy. I think it was a little shocking for the group since most of us have been caring for ourselves since our teenage years.”
Monique admitted, “I wanted to help Candiace out because I really do like her, but at the same time, it’s important for her to earn the respect she deserves from this group on her own. But I’ll definitely be giving her some advice moving forward if she wishes to receive it.”

The Real Housewives of Potomac is changing times starting tonight and will air at 8/7c! On the episode tonight: “Exhausted from her busy life, Monique has a car accident that leaves everyone concerned about her well-being. Karen embraces her entrepreneurial spirit with a new business venture, meanwhile things heat up between Robyn and Juan. Ashley plans a fun outdoor retreat for the ladies to let off some steam, but things take a surprising turn as two of the ladies challenge Candiace when she stands up for herself.”
