Will & Grace, we have a problem. After months of speculation, NBC officially announced that Will & Grace would be returning for a 10-episode season in the 2017-18 season, causing...Bravo’s latest show Summer House has only aired two episodes, but it caused an uproar before it even aired thanks to the Montauk residents who didn’t want their city to be portrayed as a party destination. Even if Montauk is not hard partying town, the Summer House cast members love to turn up and they are not sorry about that – at all.
The single sister Lauren Wirkus and the cast bromance members Kyle Cooke and Carl Radke opened up about their personal experiences spending their summer weekends partying together in Montauk. Was it an eye-opening interview? No, not at all, but I have to say that there is something refreshing about new reality stars talking about their show without PR training or products to endorse on Instagram. They kept it real and they like to have a good time.

During an interview that aired on Pix 11, Lauren, Kyle, and Carl talked about their new show and why they enjoy turning up in Montauk. So no, we don’t really learn a whole lot about them, but I do find this cast to be entertaining in a no holds barred early Vanderpump Rules sort of way.
When Kyle was asked to comment about a previous remark he made about how it’s so great to be a guy in the Hamptons, he did not take the opportunity to clear up his statement with something more politically correct. Instead, he just said, “We might have a leg up. There’s less pressure.” Thankfully for Kyle, he’s not really famous yet so this remark slipped under the radar. I feel like anyone else would have had a major image crisis for this seemingly sexist perspective.

When Lauren was asked if Kyle‘s thoughts were accurate, she said, “I beg to differ,” without adding much else to the conversation.
Carl joined the conversation when the interviewer questioned him about his relationship with Lauren after she saw their hook-ups on the show. When asked, “Are you guys dating?” Carl gave the answer that I would expect him to: “I mean, we are really very close.” And of course, Carl followed it up with, “You gotta tune in Monday at 10.” Gotta love it.
The interviewer seemed to be baiting Kyle with this riveting question: “Do the Hamptons live up to the reputation of being a place the rich and spoiled? Or no?” Wow. What a blunt and insulting question, man. Kyle had a pretty good answer though. He countered, “We as a group, we work hard, we play hard. None of us come from money, but I think that is one of the reasons we gravitate toward Montauk.”

And then Kyle started talking about Montauk’s other attributes: “It’s laid back. It’s chill. It’s got a great surf community, fishing, and a nice change of pace – and plenty of Rosé.” Can’t forget the wine. #Priorities
Was this the best interview? No. Did it make me love this cast. Yes, it did. I enjoy this show to see them partying and making stupid decisions, not to see them give politically correct and articulate explanations for every facet of life. I hope the show blows up, these people get famous, and they all end up doing more press.

Nine times out of ten, I’m going to feel badly for someone facing something so serious, even with the knowledge that the outcome is deserved by the offender. Sure, Stevie J. of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta fame owes millions in child support, but don’t send him to jail–give him another show! Heck, I felt terrible for Teresa Giudice when she got sent up the river, but dare I say how she handled her prison time is one of the classier things the Real Housewives of New Jersey star has ever done. However, I just don’t feel badly for Dance Moms antagonist Abby Lee Miller. Lock her up for a bit. Perhaps she’ll gain a little perspective and humility. Who am I kidding?
Facing sentencing at a hearing tomorrow and another on February 24th (after what seems like a decade’s worth of postponements), Abby’s legal team is scrambling for a hail Mary so the dance studio owner can avoid any jail time. She’s currently facing up to five years in prison and an excess of $5 million in fines thanks to twenty counts of fraud involving her bankruptcy and generally just forgetting to declare some Aussie currency she brought back into the country…chump change, really.

According to Deadline, on Tuesday of this week the reality star’s attorneys filed a twenty-two page memo in federal court hoping to spare Abby from any time behind bars. In part, the document reads, “Ms. Miller respectfully requests that the Court impose a non-custodial sentence after considering her acceptance of responsibility and the nature and characteristics of her conduct and her life. She presently finds herself standing before this Court having admitted to crimes that served almost no purpose but, fortunately, caused no harm,” adding, “Indeed, upon proper analysis, Ms. Miller submits that a sentence of probation would be entirely consistent with the advisory Sentencing Guidelines.”
Alleging a defense that basically consists of Abby not knowing any better (what is this, kindergarten?), the filing concedes, “Ms. Miller was overwhelmed and under-equipped, and this led to her failure to respect to the bankruptcy process. Her engagement of lawyers, accountants, and other professionals was haphazard, episodic, and at times, counter-productive.”
Abby’s lawyers continue, “In addition to the consequences she is facing through this sentencing, Ms. Miller has suffered the consequence of a very public humiliation through obsessive media attention to these proceedings. However, in the aftermath of her indictment, Ms. Miller has surrounded herself with professionals, including legal counsel, accountants, and other specialists to ensure that she will not recreate the circumstances that led to this sentencing.” Sure she won’t.
Of course, the Assistant US Attorney General prosecuting the case doesn’t believe Abby’s claims of a harmless crime. He’s pushing for a thirty-three month sentence coupled with hefty fines after she concealed more than $755,000.00 in income during her bankruptcy proceedings. Countering the memorandum, the US Attorney’s office asserts, “It is apparent that Miller is not easily deterred by threat of criminal prosecution, even standing before a federal judge. A guideline sentence is a sufficient but not greater than necessary sentence in this case.”
In its opposition to Abby’s sentencing memorandum, the office responds with its own pleading, writing, “Miller committed multiple offenses for which she accepted responsibility in the context of the bankruptcy. She both schemed to defraud the court, conceal assets, and falsify bankruptcy schedules while under oath.”
The memo then cites email correspondence between Abby and her accountant which reads, “The judge was a dick! He hates me…I’m paying Everyone I owe 100% back in one big check! Who does that! Nobody in bankruptcy! But he won’t just say look I hate you and I don’t want to see u again pay everybody and go! Now my Pgh atty are making Collins ave and the entertainment attorney jump through hoops!” The memorandum also reveals, “Later in the same email, Miller is seriously concerned that her plan to deposit income into the two subchapter S corporations would now be unraveled as well.”
She’s not sounding too naive there, is she? I don’t know about y’all, but I will be anxiously awaiting the outcome of Abby’s sentencing.

On Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, newbie Eden Sassoon finally got a chance to sit down to get to know Kyle Richards, but they didn’t become fast friends the way Eden and Lisa Rinna did.
Kyle took Eden‘s interest in empathizing as an interrogation, and she felt very uncomfortable at lunch when asked about sister Kim’s alcoholism and possible family history of substance abuse. It seems that chatting about Kim is a trigger for Kyle.
It’s possible that Kyle has just spent too much time with the RHOBH and can no longer discern someone who genuinely wants to get to know her, like Eden, from someone who is just interested in dishing some dirt to gossip about later – not mentioning any names.

While Eden didn’t feel that she “got anything” from Kyle at game night, it seems like they are on two different paths, and most of this can be filed under misunderstanding, which is the cornerstone of the Real Housewives franchise. Kyle’s face at lunch said everything you needed to know, which was shut up, stop talking now!
Eden’s blog gives RHOBH fans some insight into where she was coming from. It seems that after chatting with Lisa Rinna, who told Eden that Kim was “mostly sober” and “close to death” and that Kyle was Kim’s “enabler,” Eden was locked and loaded, courtesy of Lisa Rinna, to help in a situation with someone who is newly sober.

Eden clarified in her RHOBH blog that after gaining more information, she sees Kim‘s sobriety in a new light, “I don’t think that Kim is close to death. I think she just needs to tap into her higher power to find her truth.” But Kyle would be wise to give Eden another chance, because she has been on both sides of addiction. Eden is an addict herself, and she has been the family member of an addict, as she lost her sister Catya to an overdose.
Eden is an unusual breed for Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, as she seems to come to the table with clean hands, and wanted Kyle and Kim to know that she wanted to be there for them, and it could only be a positive for Kim to have someone else in their circle who doesn’t drink. But it sounds like Eden won’t give up, as she ended her blog post on a positive note: “Note to Self: You can’t take it personally when others aren’t ready to look at the deeper meaning of things. #TheseThingsTakeTime”
