I do believe.” His presence at the hearing would mark the first time a sitting president has attended an oral argument at the Supreme Court.

Trump signed the executive order on the first day of his second term. The order seeks to restrict federal benefits and citizenship to children who are born in the U.S. to undocumented immigrants and temporary visa holders. The President argued that automatic birthright citizenship encourages illegal immigration and what many refer to as “birth tourism.”

The POTUS reiterated his argument while speaking to reporters in the Oval Office. He stated that birthright citizenship established in the Constitution’s 14th Amendment was only meant for children born to former slaves.

“Everything having to do with birthright citizenship, it was at the end of the Civil War,” Trump stated. “The reason was it had to do with the babies of slaves and the protection of the babies of slaves. It didn’t have to do with the protection of multi-millionaires and billionaires wanting to have their children get an American citizenship,” he added.

Constitutional scholars have widely opposed Trump’s stance on birthright citizenship. The majority of judges had previously blocked the executive order. They ruled that the 14th Amendment grants citizenship to almost everyone born on U.S. soil, irrespective of their parents’ status. However, the Trump administration is seeking to overturn the rulings, with arguments set to be heard by Supreme Court justices on Wednesday.

Earlier this year, Melania and Trump came to the historical center for the premiere of the former’s documentary, Melania. Directed by Brett Ratner, it chronicles the life of Melania 20 days ahead of the presidential inauguration. It focuses on the challenges of both her professional and personal life before she transitions into her duties as the first lady for the second time.

Last year, the Kennedy Center also went through a name change, including the president’s name. At the time, spokeswoman Roma Daravi announced the decision in a statement, saying, “The Kennedy Center Board of Trustees voted unanimously today to name the institution The Donald J. Trump and The John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts.” The name change, however, wasn’t received well, as many performers protested against the decision.

In February 2026, Trump announced on Truth Social the closure of the historical center for two years for renovations. It will shut down on July 4, on the 250th anniversary of American Independence.

CNN Host Says Donald Trump’s Approval Rating Is ‘Worse’ Than Richard Nixon’s

A CNN data analyst has warned that Donald Trump is facing a steep drop in public support. According to him, the president’s approval rating now compares unfavorably to Richard Nixon’s during one of the most turbulent periods in U.S. political history.

“He’s now at a term 2 low: -18 pts,” Enten wrote on X, adding that independent voters are a major factor behind the drop. Trump’s approval among independents stands at -45 points, which Enten said is “the worst for any prez at this point in term 2. Worse than Nixon (-36 pts) at the height of Watergate!”

Enten explained that the decline is not tied to a single issue but rather a “slew of events” that have steadily weakened Trump’s standing. While he pointed to the ongoing Iran war as a contributing factor, he emphasized that multiple developments have pushed the numbers lower over time.

Providing a timeline, CNN analyst said, “He was at plus six points [in January], then minus three points a year ago [in April], minus seven points nine months ago, minus ten points in October 2025. January 2026, -13 points. And now all the way down to -18 points. A term two low.” He added that even if the Iran war ended quickly, any improvement in Trump’s approval rating would likely be limited.

The analyst further compared how Trump’s current approval rating numbers compare with those of past presidents. He noted that Nixon’s approval rating stood at -36 during the height of the Watergate scandal, while George W. Bush had a -37 rating amid the Iraq War. Trump’s -45 among independents falls below both benchmarks.

Summarizing the president’s standing, Enten offered a two-word assessment: “Death Valley.”
