It’s all happening for Janelle Brown! Even though it might have taken the Sister Wives star a bit longer to leave, Kody Brown, the mother of six, is finally making her own dreams come true. After the tragic death of her son, it is nice to see Janelle looking at the bright side of life. With a new farm project to tackle, fans eagerly await updates about how farm life is going.
Kody Brown isn’t keeping Janelle Brown up to date on Coyote Pass
Episode 2 of Season 19 showed Janelle becoming very frustrated with her ex-husband due to his lack of communication. Janelle is aware that the land payment is due in a few months. Naturally, she worries that the family will lose everything they have worked for. Janelle opened up about how she wanted to have her name on Robyn Brown’s Flagstaff house if she was putting money into it. However, she alleged that Kody wouldn’t allow her to put her name on the mortgage at the time. Janelle revealed, “When I put the money into the house, I said, ‘Well, I think it would be fair if all of our names were on the mortgage. And he’s like, ‘No, no, we need to protect, you know, protect Robyn’s estate. She needs to have it so it’s hers and so it’s ours.’”
Janelle’s conversation made sense, as she wanted to recoup some of the money that she had invested in the home. But Robyn acted confused at the request. Noting in her confessional, “When Janelle’s bringing up that Kody and I owe her something, it’s like, how do you, how do you calculate? How do you figure that out? It’s so confusing.”
Janelle Brown paid off Coyote Pass
In June, news broke that Janelle had been able to pay off what was owed on Coyote Pass, ensuring she wouldn’t lose her parcel. The U.S. Sun revealed documents that showed the deed had been handed over to the family. The Browns purchased the land in 2018 for $820,000 and had been talking about building on the land for seasons. The outlet shared that Kody and Janelle paid off the plot of land in their name. The former couple also paid off an additional plot in Robyn’s name that was purchased for $170,000 each.
The deed of release shows that the amount owed to Fidelity National Title Agency was “fully paid” on June 2, 2023. The original plan was to split the land into five parcels, including a separate house for Kody. But as the wives drifted away, the polygamous dream seemed to evaporate into thin air. Janelle was the only wife who ever realistically thought about building her homestead on the land. At one point, she even bought a luxury RV that Kody was less than impressed with. However, Janelle is now moving on to bigger and better ideas for herself.
Janelle Brown is starting her own farm
In an exciting turn of events, Janelle announced that she and her daughter, Maddie, would be starting their very own family farm. As Sister Wives viewers know, Janelle has always had a love of gardening but found Flagstaff a tough environment. In an Instagram post, Janelle posed with her hands in the air. She wrote, “I am beyond excited to finally share our passion project with you—TAEDA FARMS! We’d love to invite you to come along on this wild, messy, and beautiful journey as we build Taeda Farms from the ground up.”
Janelle joked “It’s definitely not always glamorous—there’s plenty of sweat, dirt, and learning along the way—but every single step is getting us closer to something truly special. We’re turning hard work and heart into something beautiful, and we want you to be a part of it all!” The U.S. Sun confirmed that Janelle quietly filed for a business license with the North Carolina Secretary of State office for Taeda Farms on March 26, 2024. She and Maddie purchased 156.4 acres of land in April 2024 for $289,000 in Camapwa, North Carolina. It’s nice to see Janelle embracing her passions as getting her hands dirty.
